Myself Gurjit Singh having Policy No-LFG1383489 with Aviva life insurance, Service provide by Aviva life insurance is total pathetic, My policy start in Nov-06 and I was paying my quarterly premium through bank (Standard chartered bank), Later on in the first quarter of 2008, I prefer to pay my premium by cash due to old bank a/c close, then I pay my premium on 02-june-08 at Aviva India (Ludhiana Office ) and they hand over the receipt to me as a confirmation that I paid my MAY-08 premium (Proof Attached), Next day I received SMS on my mobile that premium has been received,

In the month of September-08 when I go to Aviva India (Phagwara sale Office), I was surprised to know that my last payment was not update so I request customer care executive over their to help me for the same then he send email to the his senior or H.O, customer care executive advice me to wait for 3-4 day then to check the status, After 1 week there was no updated for the payment but I was showing in Aviva India Computer that payment was paid but status not updated so I called to customer care and ask them to help me, she inform me that I have to send a proof (Receipt copy) through courier then it will sort out, I was total upset after that because why should I do the thing which suppose to done by Aviva life insurance if they are not updating the status that is not my fault.

On 19 Dec-08 i handed over the Cheque of Rs.6250 (Phagwara sale Office) for the Nov-08 premium then came to know that this issue is still pending and there was no courtesy phone call, email or letter from Aviva life insurance that i haven’t paid my (May-08) premium so final lodge complaint at customer care Number on 26-12-08 for the same, They give me Complaint No[protected]dated[protected] and instruct me that this only rectify after receiving the copy of the receipt given by Aviva India (Ludhiana Office ).
I am not happy with the service provide by Aviva India Insurance, Each time i called for this issue the call charges borne by me and also i went through mental tension because of Aviva India Insurance .

      Resolved

I am the Landlord for Aviva's Office in my building complex in Gangtok, East Sikkim. Initially we had agreed that a sum of 50, 000/- would be charged as rent per month as use of their office space in Gangtok. Also a six months rent in advance woulded be charged a security deposit which would amount to Rs. 3, 00, 000/- (Rupees Three lakhs). Later on, as office furnishing work started the Branch Manager of Gangtok Branch spoke to me and asked me for help regarding furnishing the Branch which I was interested in as the office is in my building complex and thus was my lookout that the office had to turn out to be the best office at that time. I was willing to help in any ways that I could. Even sit at the office the whole day just to see work in progress!! After our discussions about the office furnishing, in the end of our discussions the Branch Manager and another person accompanied by the branch managertold me that their office expense would come up to Rs 3, 42, 000/-.Also I was told that the company cannot purchase anything on their own as it was company policy and so the Cost amount of Rs. 3, 42, 000/- would be transferred to my account and I was instructed to pay off the sum if ever required by the company. It was during this particular discussion that I asked what the money for the furnishing of the office would be called as it was about to be transferred in my account and I was reluctant but was assured at the time that it would be called non-refundable security deposit and that I had nothing to worry about. I clarified and confirmed with Mr Kranti who was then then regional head or something and Mr. Harjeet who was the branch manager at the time and also Mr. Ishan was an advisor or S.F.M. and a freind of mine, who was there along with us at the time. The money which was to be transferred to my account would be termed as non-refundable security deposit! The discussion took almost 2 hrs as I asked for clarification before the transaction was made and I was assured that the additional 3, 42, 000/- would be non-refundable security deposit. So we agreed that a total payment of Rs. 6, 25, 000/- would be made to me from which 3 Lakh was the Interest free Security Deposit & Rs 3, 42, 000/- would be non-refundable Security Deposit. I am not denying the fact that I received the amount i.e. Rs 6, 42, 000/-. I did receive it but only as 3Lakhs refundable security deposit and the remaining as non-refundable security deposit.
It is only today that I get a call from Mr. Kranti and some Mr. Pankaj or whatsoever who has the ordacity to call me and tell me that I have taken the extra Rs 3, 42, 000/- and that it would be refundable by me!!!??? Not only that, he claims that I actually have to pay back Rs. 8, 40, 000/- in total when all I have with me as security deposit is Rs 3, 00, 000/- . This person was not present in the scene at the time of the happenings and knows nothing of what happened and yet has the confidence to make a complete fool out of himself by telling me that this situation is backed up by an entire company!!! Does the whole company even know my name or that a branch in Sikkim ever exists!!!?? When have AVIVA resorted to threatning??? This is completely uncalled for and very immature on the company's part to let such people take key decisions. As of now i am considering sending them an evivtion notice and if any of you are about to get into anagreement with Aviva then please do not trust them in anyway. The standard line is, "we'll never leave your place, its only a formality"!!!. so please be aware people and also if there is anyone landlord who's faced the same wrath then please feel free to cantact me. thank you.

      Dear Sir,
I Have two Insurence policies LFG1290049 is of Rs.2, 00, 000 and RPG1307327 is of Rs.4, 00, 000 I invested such a big amount in your company because of good faith on Aviva life insurence. These to policies are sold to me as "Single Premium" by your employee
"Mr.Rahul Singh" Sales Maneger of Jaipur branch of your company at that time.

One policy (LFG1290049) of Rs.2, 00, 000 is comverted in Single Premium but the other one (RPG1307327) is not, so to convert it into single Premium I have visited to your Jaipur branch several times but they told me it canot be doen, Where as you can do one thing you can pay remaning two years Premium amount before 7/08/09 and we can reinstate your policy, for that I had arreange Rs.8, 00, 000 by my personal sorceses.

After that I have visited your Jaipur branch several times and mentioned them
that Please reistate my this policy before 7/08/09. and I have complaint through mail on
your [protected]@avivaindia.com and I also called several times on your customer service tollfree Number and also I have given hand written complaint letters in your Jaipur branch for these I have acknoligement from your branch with me, but no satisfactry answer was given to me I have raised this issue sinse June 2009.

I think they have Intentional delayed my request so my last date of 7/08/2009
should pass on, when I invested my heard erned money (6, 00, 000/-) into your compony
I thought that Aviva India is a big and trustable MNC where my money should be safe, but now I think that this is totaly froad going on with me, in first place they misssaled me the policy telling me that this is a one time policy and now after delying my due date of 7/08/09 they are asking me that now pay 12 Lakhs Rs. so we can reistate your policy.

So sir this is again a humble request from me to you that I have only 8 lakhs Rs
and that is a total amount of 12 Lakhs (4, 00, 000/- Inicial premium + 8, 00, 000/-of two Istalments ) so please either make my policy a paid up (one time as it was sold to me)or
take my 2years Istalments of 8 Lakhs Rs and reistate my policy. And sir please do help me so I can over come this mental Harisment which I am going through.
I WILL BE VERY THANKFULL TO YOU PLEASE REPLY SOON

After having detailed discussion with Aviva Agent, i convinced to take little master policy. I gave all the documents to agent on 17th Oct 2008, and also check was cleared from my account on 23rd Oct 2008. Till today 12th Nov2008, I haven't received my policy. After enquiring with customer care, I came to know, policy is not yet ready and it will take further 2 week to get the policy. Also Date of Commencement of policy is not decided yet.
first time in my life i have such kind of service by a insurance policy, How can i believe such company will provide me money in case of any claim. I have taken policy from LIC, Icici, Reliance . I never face any customer care issue with any of these company. Also LIC started my policy even before depositing the check in my account.
I am really frosted and want to take struck action again Aviva. What can i do in this regard.

Reference No: Policy No. 1177192 & 1177381 - Unit linked LLG – Aviva Life Insurance Company

Subject: Unnecessary deduction of policy amount

            Dear Sir,

I have taken Unit Linked Policy of Aviva Life Insurance Company. I have the following mentioned policies with me from the year of June 2005:

            No.
            Policy No
            Form
            Name of holder
            Premium Amount

            1.
            1177192
            LLG
            Anjana B. Shah
            90, 000.00

            2.
            1177381
            LLG
            Bharatkumar H. Shah
            1, 00, 000.00

From the issue of policy I have paid three installments of premium up till now. My fund value as on Dt: June 2008

            No.
            Date
            Units
            NAV
            Amount

            1.
            23/06/2008
            8, 324.39
            31.45
            2, 61785.00

            2.
            27/06/2008
            8, 372.25
            31.19
            2, 61122.00

During the current year due to some problem I was unable to pay the premium and hence I skipped the same for both the mentioned policies. After two months of my premium due date, I found that the Aviva company has unnecessary reduced my fund value almost 70% of what I had earlier. They have shown the remaining fund value in paid up value.

My policy statement now displays the following things:

            No.
            Date
            Units
            NAV
            Amount

            1.
            23/09/2008
            3, 627.24
            31.58
            1, 14, 541.00

            2.
            27/09/2008
            3, 067.53
            31.58
            96, 866.00

You can see from above that the company has reduced my fund amount almost about 70% and the respective units about 5000 units. Moreover the NAV amount has been increased which is an unjustifiable thing. I don't know the reason behind this harsh step of the company as while investing in the policy I was informed by the company's insurance agent that I am free to pay the premium whenever I want irrespective of the lock in period. Further more the same things are even mentioned in the terms and conditions of company's broacher and also there's no clarification of any charges in the policy document too.

I have been investing regularly in the policy from last 3 years still the company has taken this harsh step. Further more I also have with me policies of Birla Sunlife, ING Vysa, Max Newyork life where also I havnt paid the premium still those companies have not taken such type of step or charged me such heavy amount just as done by Aviva.

I want you to explain me that at which place the company's policy documents mentions that within two months the fund value will be reduced for almost 70% just because of not paying the premium amount. The company is just making me fool by taking this step.

I want you to take any step for the walk taken by the company. If you are not able to solve out my problem than I will definitely go further and apply to consumer court.

            Thanking you….

            Bharat H. Shah.

                  Dear Sir/Mam,

This is in reference to AVIVA ULIP Policy that was sold to me on 13/11/2007 by ABN AMRO Bank employees accompanied by AVIVA Bancasurrance employee.

My policy details are as follows:

                  Policy Name: AVIVA Saveguard
                  Policy Number: RSG1742302
                  Premium amount: Rs. 36, 000/-
                  Selling Date: 13/11/2007

I would like to highlight the following points in connection with this sale:

                  a) Prior to selling AVIVA ULIP Policy, I was offered ABN AMRO Titanium Card by ABN Sales Team as I had a corporate salary account with ABN AMRO.

                  b) These guys introduced the company AVIVA and its product offerings to me.

                  c) They miss sold the product to me as they never informed me about the charges associated with the policy in case of partial withdrawal. (Now only, that too after constantly probing the customer service desk I am informed that the policy withdrawal charges are as high as 56%).

                  d) Contrary to this, I was given verbal assurance that I'll get an amount of close to Rs. 1, 75, 000/- on my investment of 1, 08, 000/- after three years which is again an act of miss selling the product. In addition to this I was informed about many other benefits about this product.

                  e) To lure me into the trap I was offered a facility of paying my premium in 6 EMI's of Rs. 6, 000/- each, at zero percent interest, which I paid last year positively. On my constant probing, they informed me that the bank will offer this facility for the coming years as well.

                  f) I was quite skeptical in going for this product but after continuous pursuals and assurances by these guys and follow up calls by AVIVA Sales Manager & ABN AMRO Bank Manager, I finally went for it.

                  g) For this year, as my premium amount is due, I approached ABN AMRO Bank Credit Card customer service division for availing the facility of paying my premium through my credit card and converting it into 6 EMI's at zero percent.

                  h) To my dismay, I am informed that the facility no longer exists as the tie-up between ABN and AVIVA is no longer effective.

                  i) I contacted ABN guy for this and got a very lukewarm response from his side too, as if he was just interested in making a one time sale which he did and gave no positive response to my queries regarding the high partial withdrawl charges, EMI facility, etc.

                  j) I feel that this is a very unethical act by your company as you first lure the customers by showing the sunny side and once they fall into your trap, only then they get to see the flip side of it.

I have also sent a written complaint to AVIVA's corporate office.

I hope you will take a strict action against these companies.

                  Best Regards,
                  Tanuj

Let's all get together and file a PIL in Supreme court against these cheats. I am willing to lead this fight.

a brief on how AVIVA & ABN AMRO cheated me and my husband to the tune of 9 lacs.

My name is Shalini Vig Wadhwa and I along with my husband Prateek, hold the below mentioned Policies of Aviva.
Aviva ULIP Pension Policy that was sold to me by ABN AMRO bank employee Mr. Preetipal Singh, accompanied by banc assurance employee Mr. Ajit Singh.
                  Policy Details: Number – RPG1696773 / Dated: 28/09/2007 of 6 lacs.
I would like to highlight few points in connection with this sale.
                  1) I took this policy in the year 2007, October, when these guys introduced the company Aviva and its products offering to me.
                  2) The sales manager from banca visited my office [Preetipal Singh] and told me that I have to pay a single premium and after 5 years I can withdraw the money at minimum 25 % growth. And along with that I will be having risk cover available for the 5 years.
                  3) They miss sold the product to me as I was unaware of the regular premiums associated with this plan. They assured me that they would invest the 6 lacs given to recover the balance premiums and I should not worry about it at all.
                  4) Contrary to this I was given verbal assurance that I will get an amount close to 1200, 000 after 5 years of the policy term.
                  5) To lure me into trap I was offered a single premium and huge risk cover.
                  6) Strangely, last year my premium amount was due, ABN AMRO employees approached me [Pretipal Singh & Pranjay Dutta] and to my dismay, I was informed that I have to pay regular premium of 6 lacs for the next ten years! All this time no one approached me or informed me on what was happening to my money.
                  7) I told them that I can’t pay six lacs this year then he said that I can skip this year’s premium and my policy will remain active but on checking with a friend I understood that I have to pay 12 lacs rupee next year if I fail to pay this year’s premium.
I was quite skeptical in going for this product but after continuous perusal and assurances by these guys and follow up call by Aviva sales guys, I finally went for it. I genuinely trusted them and gave them very descent premium. Not once did anyone approach me during the entire year with any feedback on the money paid to Aviva. No statements from anyone on what is the status of this policy. Then the demand for another 6 lacs!
My husband too was lured into the same trap. He was sold the same kind of policy twice within a month!
He has 3 policies of AVIVA – Tune of 3 lacs

We are really very disappointed with the Aviva and with their wrong & false commitments. Agents being hired to sell policies that end up completing their targets where as people like us suffer.
By doing such things probably they increase their business but at the same time they are breaching the trust of the customers.
We feel this is a very unethical act by both ABN AMRO & Aviav as they first lure the customers by showing the sunny side and once they fall into your trap, only then get to see the flip side of it.
We have been asking them to help resolve this issue ever since last year. The below mentioned mails have been sent and stargaely they have accepted their faults but refuse to return the money unless we continue the policy for 3 years.
Attached are the mails that show how they have just not bothered to resolve this issue till date.
                  Hi All...

I completely agree with above complaints and i myself is a victim of that. Its a nexus between Insurance company and agents who are paid a huge percentage of premium amount to lure people like us by any means. These people have no ethics and can go to any level in order to make their money. I call this nothing sort of business but cheat and must be punished to maximum extent. Its a crime nothing less than burglary or theft.

I request you all to raise awareness about this cheat business so that no more people like us get into their trap. I am doing my best and following up with irda to find if i can take any legal actions against them.

Let me present some facts about ulip that your insurance agent will never tell you -
                  1. He will never tell you about the charges applicable on the policy. Will never let you know about total % of your premium that go into investment. If you enquiry about charges, he will probably say that it has similar charges like mutual fund OR probably tell you about one of the many charges applicable on policy.
                  2. He will never tell you that you should invest in Ulip only if your time horizon is 10 yrs or more.
                  3. He will probably show you 30% annual return and will say that you can surrender your policy after 3rd year. He/she won't tell you about the refund amount in case you surrender your policy after certain year.

                  Some facts about ulip -
                  1. Different insurers have different charge structure. These charges can be as high as 100% in some cases. Some insurers like Birla sun life/ICICI Pru or HDFC etc have high first/second/third year charges and nominal charges after that. But some companies like Aviva OR LIC charge you through out your policy term. In my case, i am paying approx 20% of my premium amount as charges for the past 3 years and they will go on till my policy matures.

Each of above have their implications as paying 20% every year means, if market return is less than 20% in any year...you are not going to gain anything but loosing out your hard earned money. Fortunate for me, market has returned more than 20% so i am still not lost any money.

                  2. Mortality Charges depends on the sum insured amount. So, if you have high sum insured amount...your charges will be high. But if your insurance amount is less than there is no use of this policy. You are paying 20% more charges compared to mutual fund for a risk cover that you can probably get with your free credit card (thinking about this, i can laugh on myself as many of my credit cards are giving me more insured amount than my policy)

                  3. They have fixed Policy Administration Charges. So, depending on your premium amount it can make up to 10 or even 20% of premium. Such of waste of money :(

                  Some Relief -

At last, On 22nd July 2009 IRDA issued another set of guidelines, which are popularly known as ULIP Guideline II. All existing unit-linked products will have to comply with the revised guidelines from January 1, 2010, and therefore, these products will have to be re-filed by December 31, 2009. Important points this guidelines -
                  1. For tensure less than 10 yrs, difference between the net yield and the gross yield could not exceed 3 per cent. Within this, the fund management charges are restricted at 135 basis points. For tenure more than 10 yrs, this diff cannot be more than 2.25 %
                  2. Unit-linked insurance products (Ulips) filed after September 30 2009 will have a lock-in of five years. Good news, there will be no surrender charge from the fifth year of the policy (in case you already burnt your hands, wait till 5 yrs of your policy and keep your friend and family away from these agents)

I completely agree. One of FPA from Aviva has mislead without letting me know the complete details. Their charges are very high when you are going to withdraw or close the account. That FPA told me after 3 years you don't need to pay the premium and can withdraw or close the account with full amount as per the NAV value. I have full case history..

They are fooling us like other such as Charlse Shobraj, Mr. Natwarlal and many others. When these people are behind bar now then why can't Aviva..

It would better if we all file to the Supreme Court to get the judgment.
Irrespective of how good or bad their products are, They care about after sales service service. Never ever invest with them without having every thing written n black & white. Else you are in for a nasty experience. Dont count on your banker as he is going to stand by you till he gets his commission from Aviva ! Those o[censored] having a policy with them, pls take some time and read the Terms & Conditions. There is Lot more in it than what is told verbally..!!

                  Aviva is cheating customers

my policy premium wuld be auto debited every year. the policy was started in 2005. the first 3 anual premiums were successfully auto debited. on the 4th year there was a problem and the autodebit did not happen. i called up the customer support and they told me that the system scheduler failed and the problem is from aviva's side. i have given a written complaint for the same and again after 3 months i again checked and to my surprise i found that again the premium was not deducted. i again gave them a written complaint and sadly the aviva's sytem scheduler failed. i was frustrated since my policy was in high risk mode. i requested aviva to close my policy an to give my money back. then came the problem.

To my surprise aviva told me that the policy could not be closed. and if i close forecfully i wuld be deducted somewhere around 34, 000. the total premium i have paid is around 50, 000. on closing the policy aviva tells me that they will pay only 16.000.

Someone plz help me in this regard

i have sent around 10 mails and these guys are sending me only pre types messages and are not addressing my complaint at all.
I suggest don't pay anything to them until you continue with their services. What's the guarantee they pay at the time of completion of policy.. No guarantee.. I suggest all the holder to join hand nationally and file a complaint with Supreme Court.

Thing is that they are cheating us openly without letting us know the complete details. They know very well the moment they mentioned everything no one take any policy. The 1 rule is they must informed everything verbally or written be one take any policy.

Let's do now or never shout here.
SORRY FOLKS, THIS IS ANOTHER MIS-SOLD ULIP BUT NOT THROUGH AVIVA BUT BAJAJALLIANZ.
MODERATOR FEEL FREE TO DELETE THIS IF IT IS NOT CONTEXTUAL. THE ONLY REASONS I AM POSTING IT HERE IS TO MAKE ALL OF YOU AWARE OF THE NEXUS BETWEEN THESE PRIVATE BANKS AND THE INSURANCE PROVIDER.

THIS IS A LETTER TO MR S MANJESH ROY, DGM I/C OF COMPLAINTS AT SEBI JUST TO MAKE HIM AWARE THAT THESE THIEVES HAVE SPREAD THEIR NET WIDE.
                  *******************************************************************************
                  Dear Mr Manjesh Roy,

Please read this letter if and only when you have the time to spare a few minutes, and hopefully more as a diversion than from any expectation from my part for you to act on it.

I have recently been aware of SEBI's position regarding the ULIPs and am stupefied to know that a parallel organisation like the IRDA are also been given authority to regulate the same. Anyway as non-resident Indians we can only be silent observers.

The purpose of writing to you is to cite an example how rampant is the mis-selling going on by ULIP providers fully aided and abetted by private banks to the unsuspecting public.

I must insist at this point again sir, there is no motive from my part to seek any redress from SEBI regarding this incident for our benefit. We are not expecting or hoping for any action from your part. The only hope from us is that this incident will complement the innumerable complaints you must receive on mis-selling o[censored]LIPs and helping you to appreciate how far the net has been spread.

I am cutting and pasting the draft of a letter which I am constantly encouraging my daughter (a very busy Cardiologist in UK) to re-write to a Mr K, the Head of NRI services of a very well known private sector Bank in Kolkata. The other person referred to ( Mr R) who used to be the NRI Relationship officer for the same bank in Kolkata at the time of the incident.

I am sending this email to you in complete confidence because my daughter being the aggrieved one and an adult should take any actions herself, and would not appreciate me entering into any discourse without her full consent, which as you may well guess, I have YET not been able to obtain.
I am sure, if and when she gets the time, she will coin her own letter to the persons concerned in a much more presentable and effective fashion.
I am just concerned that if such incidences are not brought to the notice of people who can change policy, I will be doing a disservice to the community at large.

                  Sincerely yours

                  Siddhartha Sen-Chowdhry

                  ***************************************************************************

This is a draft of a letter to Mr K.

                  Dear Mr K,

This email is sent to you as a request to investigate some apparent irregularities in a Unit linked Life insurance policy sold by by your employee Mr R to my daughter Dr. xxxxxxx .

This life insurance policy (No. XXXXXXX, ) from the insurer ##### apparently came into effect from xx/yy/08 with the the deduction of the first premium of Rs 1.25 lacs. Since then a further premium of Rs 1.25 lacs had also been deducted in 2009. We presume the next premium will be due in October of this year.

Up till now we do not know what are the details of this policy.

On a late afternoon just before the first deduction date of xx/yy/2008, Mr R visited my daughter at my mother-in-law's house in Shyambazar, Kolkata, where she, with my wife were on the final day of their short visit from UK. Both my daughter and wife were about to sit down to have their last lunch together with her grandma since they would be returning to UK very early next morning. There was, by all accounts, a signing of papers brought in by Mr R, by my daughter, the underlying purpose (as energetically insisted and highlighted by Mr R) was to allow the eventual repatriation of her NRO funds to UK through the use of this instrument.

After returning to UK, my wife and daughter rang Mr R to inquire about the details of the package which they could review. Mr R replied that the papers had been sent to the Shyambazar address. When asked why, since all records of my daughter's details were only registered to her UK address, Mr R literally begged for forgiveness for this transgression . Never did it occur to him to volunteer that a copy of the same dossier be forwarded to her registered UK address to remedy the situation. But more about that later.

My daughter is a Cardiologist in UK and her clinical and research activities have been so intense that she has not been yet able to visit india with her mum to visit her grandma since her last visit in 2008. Her grandma is also so frail and advanced in years that she is unable to locate which document she could redirect to her in UK even if she had the manpower resources, which she does not.

Under the prevailing laws existing in all civilised countries, the selling of an insurance policy is followed by a cooling-off period in the region of around 15 days. In the case of India we believe that the term used is FREE-LOOK.

It is now clear that by having the policy document including any fine print sent to an inoperative and inappropriate address, the opportunity for the customer to examine the details and exercise his or her options as laid down in law, can be pre-empted. Of course the remoteness of the customer from either the documents or the agent helps, together with the dubious perception that a renowned bank (like yours) will never willingly do any harm to its customers.

The reasons are now obvious as to why and how Mr R managed to obviate any opportunity of my daughter visiting the terms and conditions of the policy. The matter gets more serious when my daughter vehemently denies authorising any deduction of an amount of Rs 1, 25, 000/-. The figure which had stuck in her mind was Rs 25, 000/-.

Due to my contacts in India, I have had the privilege of obtaining information about the nexus of Insurance Companies and Private Sector banks in India. To that extent, I have at my disposal 'strictly confidential' clauses marked for internal use only ( between Insurance Companies and Banks) the details of some of which are never embodied into the policy document. It will not be difficult for me to get such specific clauses for this particular policy at all and compare it to the policy documents once we have it in hand.

The purpose of my writing to you is to request you the following:

                  1. To send to my daughter's registered address in UK, a copy of the full dossier (policy document, terms and conditions) by secure 'signed for' mail method. We are insisting that such an action is initiated by you within the next few days so that we are in receipt of the same in UK within the next fourteen days.

                  2. To also include in the same dossier, each and every photocopy of documents (including debit mandate showing amounts ) which was apparently signed by my daughter.

Once we obtain these documents (day of delivery will be known to you), we will examine the contents of the same and decide whether the selling of the policy had been appropriate or not. A period of FREE-LOOK can then start. At this time we do not want to pre-empt the findings of our examination which may (or may not) affect the validity of the contract and all past and future policy premium debits.

Mr K, I am expecting you to treat this letter seriously. If you decide not to respond appropriately within the suggested time frame, you can be assured that the matter will be referred to not only at the highest level in your organisation, but also to law to institute a F.I.R.. Please do keep in mind that by having some privileged sources of information, I will, at the very least, be able to direct this matter to the most appropriate authorities.

                  Yours etc.

                  *************************

Dear Mr Manjesh Roy, I wish you all in SEBI to continue the good work in putting a stop to these practices in general. My daughter is appalled to hear of the huge initial loading (~45 thousand) already deducted and the extreme exit penalty clauses applying to her policy, all of which she was not aware of. I only have come to know about this confidentially from a very senior officer of that Insurance Company, and that also very recently.
Aviva is a BIG FRAUD COMPANY & CHEATER. manager of private & prestigious bank promoted me this policy trusting her i took 10 policies. i went abroad n after coming i saw the booklet which they have sent. i was made after going thru it. thought of surrendering cos the picture shown while taking the policy was different n later they turned. i was continously following aviva to know my fund value. the fund value had never gone up above the invested amount. they told me that the 3 years is the locking period n after that you can withdrawl, so i invested the money for 3 years. after 3 years i told them i want to close the policy, after talking to them the fund value was still less than the invested amount. further they told me the initial 56% & cummulative charges 19% will be deducted from the amount along with the basic charges (ie administrative 56/- per month & motality cost 21/- per month. )
i asked them if they have invested our money in the market so now the market is growing so the fund value should increase, the person replied ya then why the fund value is less then the invested premium amount. then he said the calculation of fund value is done on the basis of age. further i asked him about the fund value of my cousine her fund value was less than mine i asked him why so he replied cos of age.
me n my cousin are of same year ( difference of 1month) hardly matters.
i asked from my elder cousin who is elder to me by 7 years his fundvalue was only more than 2k & surrender value they told me 30k deduction from my fund value ie hardly 22% of my invested amount. the 2nd cousin who is elder to me by 3 years his fund value was less than 3k than me .
further i told him that im holding 10 policies n at the end of 3rd year you are not able to give me the priniciple amt leave the interest then i dont find worth being with aviva.
I told him that u people are fooling the customers. this is all fraud you are doing as im getting gains from other private companies n more over ur calculations are not proper & i feel you are not investing our amount properly. continously im following with aviva since two year & i was told that my fund value was always less than my invested amount. Lot of assurance are given by them before taking their product once sold they are not bothered at all.

He told me that i will get call from aviva in next 4 hrs for the calculation n how they can help us with these policies. just waiting for the calls since 7 days.
i feel instead of investing into these private companies i feel that LIC is the best. all these companies have hiden charges & what all.
i have been miss sold an Aviva Ulip of 4 lakhs premium via ABN AMRO - absolute
                  crooks .

I have tried my best to revoke the policy but to no avail.

                  AVIVA — Refund

This is regarding My policy no. SAG2609517 (Om Prakash Gupta).
and my complaint against Aviva company.

My complaint number is as below IN IRADA
                  175/ALIC/comp dated 14th August 2010.
Well I can't say much bad/wrong thing about ABN AMRO/ RBS bank as they have been mostly good to me and their suggestion too has mostly been financially benefical to me.

But when it comes to Mr. Preetipal Singh, what I can say today on 24th January 2011 is that he was among the biggest liars I have ever met.
                  Reasons:
                  i) I was sold the AVIVA insurance same as mentioned in above complaint without giving any single details. so it was a kind of MISUSE OF TRUST.

ii) After having paid 3 lakhs rupees in 3years, I could come to know only today that AVIVA Charges 20% amount of investment in first year of investment.
Which was never informed to me. SO again MISUSE OF TRUST.

So if at all someone meets Pretipal Singh who is now working with Standard Charter Bank, beware.

                  SS
That Pretipal Singh is rather a CROOK than a liar is clear from above posts.

I wish Preetipal Singh gets his due in due course.
They are the really froad for my policy rsg1328499. i have paid 1, 10, 000.00 and after 4 years they have only paid me 78000.00. They have to pay me extra but they have deducated my amount.

I totally diagree with this...People before investing should think and consult from other other sources and then invest.

                  AVIVA — ULIP Policy

Never ever Invest in AVIVA, if you any excess Amt you better burnt it rather investing it in AVIVA
because the surrender charges are very high & sales representatives are also not educated about the policy terms & conditions.

we are very unsatisfied from the company.
before investing your FPC told us that you will get your amount from the company after three years, having good intrest amount than fixed deposits .so we invest in the life long plan.but when we got the policy documents we read that documents and go to the bank(BANK OF PUNJAB, guru kanshi marg, Bathinda) and asked that you are missselling the policy because penalty will be deducted after withdrawing after three years .but they told that to belive them no penalty charges will be deducted and you will get complete amount ...so when we do not get satisfied we again call fpc NAVNISH who deals in AVIVA at the bank and asked about the same plan so he was again missguiding us .so we recorded his conversation and forwarded the cd to the head office.but no reply was given to us .so we do not have any way left except media and court .reply soon

An Agent of Aviva Life Insurance Chandigarh approach me for Insurance Policy No: WTG1344156 intially I ignored her but she use to call me again and again. The she came to my house times and again and said that she is also living in Sec: 20 A Chandigarh. Then shen convince me that she will give me a Policy which will provide me 25 to 27% return after completion of 3 years and I have to pay for 3 years only and then i can withdraw whole the amont with bonus. She asked me that she will give me in writing. Then I agreed to pay 20000 each for 3 years. When I called Aviva after paying 3 years Rs. 60000/- for my whole amount with bonus, the company clearcut asked me that they had given me a Policy for which I have to pay for 15 to 20 yrs only then I will get my money back unless the refundable amount is Rs. 29000/- only against Rs. 60000/- I had already paid. Their Official told me that they have given me the Policy and there is a option I can withdraw the same within 15 days time but I want to submit that I had got the policy from Centurian Bank of Punjab, Sec: 17, Chandigarh branch after 2 months as the agent and branch manager of bank told me that they had misplaced the policy and after 2 months the agent handed over the policy to me at my house. Sir I am a house wife and my husband is only earner and it is very difficult for us to pay a huge amount we have a daughter and we have to pay a huge amount on her study also and it is very difficult for a single earner family to get into this type of policies given by these companies like AVIVA which is clearcut a fraud for me. Sir please provide me justice as we have given Rs. 60000/- very diffucltly and now AVIVA Company is asking us for more money which is not possible for us to pay. My husband is also not in a condition to pay the amont and he is under depression after hearing that against Rs. 60000/- there is only 29000/- is refundable. Sir I am so much worried about my family as Rs. 60000/- is a very big amount for my family. Please provide us justice.

Sir I had already written a letter to M/s Aviva and they had replied me that they will not pay any amount back to me as I had requested that please return me Rs. 60000/- only which I had already given to AVIVA.

                        Hi,

I am Korpole Naveen Kumar, a policy holder of Aviva Life Insurance. Policy number: LSP1495524.
I have paid premium of Rs: 15000/- towards 'Aviva Life Insurance' through cheque (cheque no: 30535) of ICICI bank account and the amount was debited from my account on 14-Mar-2008 successfully. But i did not receive any premium receipt for my policy. When i spoke to the cusomer service executive, informed that the cheque was bounsed. How it is possible? the amount already deducted from my account towards 'Aviva Life Insurance'. I called ICICI bank manager about this, she informed the same amount was deducted towards 'Aviva Life Insurance'. Please provide me the premium receipt immedietely. I need clarification regarding this and provide me the solution imeedietely.

From last 15 days, i am speaking to the Aviva Life insurance customer care people, also provided Bank statement and debit note... but nobody is responding properly. I don't know what was the problem with them? Why they are doing like this? After discussing this with them, again they are saying that when i called day before y'day, they were saying that they are going to take fresh complaint. I never think it will be like this. It is very bad experience for me with Aviva India Insurance.

                        Thanks,
                        Naveen

Kindly refer your reference no;- C[protected]. it was mainly your branch at rajouri garden Delhi who deceived me. actually i was not interested in any market investment or so as my father was severely hit by Unit 64 earlier. I invested with this assurance that my money will remain safe plus i will get about 1o percent interest annually that is all. Your bank assured verbally that funds are very much secured and believing the bank and it, s reputation that at least they will not deceive, i told her OK i will invest this amount and i signed one form there which she told me to sign as this is agreement form never went through that. even for the policy or so i may have visited bank about ten times and it was after some four months or so she gave me the policy presuming that every thing will be alright.
practically you being the agent for AVIVA, you have defaced the name of your bank and lost all trust which one has on the bank in Toto.
Now i have no option but to pay this year which i paid on 11/9/2008, as i am feeling that i am unnecessarily been trapped by the sweet words of the bank official for which i have to cut sorry finger.
But now for gods sake don, t deceive others the public as whole as will loose faith on a bank of your reputation for which i had great regard.
Further at least now kindly see that my hard earn money which invested /paid amount for these two years now some Rs 1, 08, 000/- grows and remains safe see that was . i am no longer interested in your life insurance or another growth or so. as all this money is hard earned one. so help me accordingly.
                          your truly

Kolkata wants to inform you that, one of Aviva Life Insurance marketing Executive Mr Sayantan(Mobile number-[protected]) And his friend Ravi kara processes an insurance police without informing me .I only came to know that when Rs, 10, 000 deducted from my bank account with name of Aviva insurance from my IDBI Bank Account. I wonder how a company Like Aviva opens a policy without verifying the signature of policy holder. I consider this as a fraud case under section 420.

Till now I contacted with Mr Subrojit Dhall and Biswajit Ghosh(marketing Manager), Nidhi dube(Aviva Life Insurance Branch Manager) and spoken to Vijaya (customer care Executive) but no action has been taken place

Please find attach document that I have send to Kolkata Aviva Life Insurance Company

Kindly consider my case and provide me solution.

                              DEAR SIR,

I HAVE TAKEN POLICY FROM AVIVA. MY PREMIUM DUE WAS MAY'2008. I HAVE NOT GOT ANY REMINDER FROM THEM REGARDING MY PREMIUM DUE. USUALLY THEY USE TO SEND REMINDER FOR EVERY PREMIUM. BUT THIS TIME THEY HAVE FAILED TO SEND ME A REMINDER RESULTING THAT MY POLICY WAS LAPSED. WHEN I ENQUIRED ABOUT THIS THEY SAID "SORRY" & I NEED TO GO FOR REINSTATEMENT. I APPLIED FOR REINSTATEMENT & MADE PAYMENT FOR MY MAY DUE PREMIUM ALSO. BUT TILL TODAY THEY HAVE DONE REINSTATEMENT OF MY POLICY & THEY HAVE REJECTED MY REQUEST DUE TO MISMATCH OF MY SIGNATURE. I HOPE INTENTIONALLY THEY ARE DOING LIKE THIS. I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR SERVICE & REPLY. THE MAIN FAULT IS THEY HAVE NOT REMINDER BUT THEY ARE ASKING FOR EXCUSE BUT ULTIMATELY I AM IN TROUBLE. WHO WILL COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS WHICH HAS OCCURED TO ME. REPEATED COMPLAINTS & FOLLOW UP HAS FALLEN ON THEIR DEAF EARS. I AM QUIET UPSET.

I am writing this mail after going through long wait and harresment from the Aviva customer care. Last week I came to know from my Agent from aviva that my policy is not deducting the premium amount from my saving bank account in ABN AMRO Bank. The amount for last 5-6 premiums were not transfered from my ABN AMRO Bank.

I called up the Aviva customer care last week and I was informed by them that all the due amount for last pending premiums will be credited from my saving bank account. I was not even given the reference number of the complain that I made and was told that it will be sent by sms in 15 mins. No response.

I would like to know the root cause of why the premimums were not made automatically through my Bank which will now affect my savings in 80C. And who would be responsible for the extra Income tax that I will be paying.

                                regards,
                                Nitin Rastogi

I have submitted my annual premium receipt of Rs.10, 000/- to Aviva in the month of March 2008. The same has been debited to my a/c on the due date and is confirmrd by the Aviva on mail. I am regularly asking for the receipt since then but they are just making false excuses and not paying any heed to request. I am in regular contact through e-mail to their customer-support cell but they are giving me sterotyped replies that they have send the receipt by courier Blaze flash. They also claimed that the said receipt has been delivered to me on 7th may, 2008. But after complaining them the not receipt of the same they are just lingering on the case. Kindly suggest the remedy.

I was working for Aviva Life insurance till May'08 until i was asked to work for a profile which was lower than mine for a small mistake.
I resigned withour serving the notice period. i wanted to serve the notice period of 2 months but on the same profile in which i was working. Since the Manager did not approve of this i had to resign.

Now i want to claim my PF but the company is not responding at all.
Please guide me how can i claim my PF.

                                      Hi,
This is regarding a courier we had sent to Dubai on May 15, 08, Airwaybill No. 20740. This courier hasn't been received yet by the recipient, although it's already been 34 days i.e. even more than a month. However, the courier should have been delivered in 15-20 days of a time, i.e. maximum by June 5, 08, yet there's neither any delivery happened nor any track is available on this on your website.
This is really disgusting on your service part, which you seriously don't consider and this courier, being quite important to both the parties is a matter of worry to us.
Pls look into the matter on an urgent note, resolve it, and get the courier delivered as soon as possible as it's strictly confined to the timeline.
This attitude at your end really doesn't encourage us to use your services. Hope you to take it forward equally seriously.

                                        Hi,

Myself Rahul Charlewar, got a policy from Aviva Life Insurance on 20th Dec 2005. My policy no. is NSG1191593.

I have been regularly paying premium of 12000 Rs. since last 3 years for my policy. I had paid 36000 Rs so far as my premium. I had my fund switch as well during these period as well.

All of a sudden in the month of March, when i checked my policy details online, I found my policy status as "Lapsed". I have been following up with Aviva since that time for the reason, I was informed that you had not paid premium of your policy that's why it is lapsed and i was asked for the proof of payment in Bank Statement form. I sent my bank statement in the month of April, and then in may, in total atleast i sent 3-4 times my bank statements alongwith Aviva Consolidated statement showing my premium as paid.

I would have called more thatn 20-30 times to customer care officers and they always say it should be resolved in 3-4 working days. Few members i dealt during conversations are Saina, Vijaya, Reena, Himanshu (Manager of Customer Services) and Herlin Kaur (Manager of customer services).

They always promise to get resolution in 3-4 days, , but, , never come back. Today i was informed that you had not paid your first premium that is in december 2005. and you sent a statement for 2008,

I just couldn't beleive that how come they are asking me details of my 2005 premium as my policy was active till march-2008.

Himanshu mentioned that in reconcialliation they noticed they don't have reference for 2005 payment, , and that's why it's lapsed.

It was so shocking that i have been paying all premium regularly and i have receipt of Aviva, eventhough they are asking me the proof of year 2005, this can happen to any customer and they can ask data after 10-15 years too.. how one can trust on this kind of Insurance company.

                                        Their telephone no. are[protected] and[protected].

And I have been speaking with the heighest authority as they mentioned for customer services dept. named Himanshu and Herlin Kaur.

Can you some how help me to resolve this matter ?

                                        Looking forward for positive feedback.

                                        Regards,
                                        rahul

                                        Hi Rahul

I strongly agree with you and I am facing the similar problem from them, which I am going to write about it very soon.

By the way, I were also dealing with Hemanshu, Soniya Zulka and other AVIVA sales guy who seems to be really big big liars and have excuses for every mistake of theirs. I think they do it purposely to cheat the customers and suck customers money.

Anyways, It's too much frustration and too much to write. Can you just let me know, if you could send an email to MD (T R Ramchandran) regarding this? ANd what was his reply.

                                        Thanks

I had taken my insurance 4 years back. Every time I observer that a lot of money is been deducted for some hidden services. The customers are trapped to pay the insurance or else they say they will cut 75% or more money. They are forced to continue. This is injustice. We should unite to fight these demons

Aviva Life Insurance — Recurring calls on mobile phone

There are two Nos. 40179700 & 40179800 that have been calling on my mobile phone for the last 10 days every day and after every two hours or so. I have tried all my best convincing them not to call me, but they donot desist.
In today's date I doubt the capability of just every staff off Aviva and feel that they are just bunch of jokers sitting in your Hyderabad office just collecting a salary at the end of the month.
I received a call on Saturday 17th September 2011 from your Hyderabad office, Mamta, reminding me for payment of my policy number LSG1153533.I asked her to send an executive to my residence to collect the cheque as this is facility aviva offers to their customers.she promised a call from the staff concerned.NO CALL RECEIVED TILL MONDAY.I called around afternoon and the payment collector promised to come on 22september as Monday was not possible and 20-21st I was out of country.
I saw a missed call from aviva on 21st sep when I was out of country.
waited for your executive on 22nd as per the promise NO ONE TURNED UP.In the evening at 1800hrs I receive a call from your Chennai office promising me to send an executive at 1100hrs on 23rd but as usual NO ONE TURNED UP.I called your office and invited trouble.
Your executive shiva krishna called from number[protected] to say he would come at 1300hrs to collect payment. At 1343hrs after waiting I called the same number several times but no response.Made several calls to your HYD office but people had no answer.
Seems aviva highly lacks professionalism where a call is picked up by the security guard. The call is then transfered to someone of his choice who is not even in the position to check the customer record even though he takes down the name of the customer. Then on an open line the staff starts chatting with people around him/her and the customer listens to everything!!!
Your staff shreekanth instead o[censored]nderstanding the inconvenience I was going through expressed his helplessness in providing any assistance to me and said he was attending to the walk-in customer because he was angry and that I should have called the toll free number.Clearly stating that aviva can neither satisfy the walk-in nor can be of any assistance to the customer on phone. Finally I had to request him to transfer the call who would be better than him.Call was transfered to Mamta again.Shocked to know that Mamta asks the customer if I had the number of aviva executive so that she can call and speak to him.
Is this the way AVIVA WORKS?????
Right now it is 1515hrs and there is just no trace of your executive who was required to come.High time you sack him.
I am myself into service industry but at no given point of time have I been educated to express our INTERNAL PROBLEMS to our customers, KEEP DODGING and MAKE A CUSTOMER WAIT FOR SO LONG TO PROVIDE A PROMISED SERVICE.
Today I feel I made the biggest mistake to take up the policies from you...when your executive had come begging in our office.
I am highly disappointed with this failure of service and the highly poor reponse from your office.
Pls also remember every bit experience cannot be penned down as well.
Aviva has business and the staff have a job because we have a job and are able to buy a policy from you.Your staff dont even know how to respect their own job!!Once employed tey only learn how to dodge the customer and get away from the situation.
I have undergone so much of harassment from your staff that I can even file a case against you for this harassment.
                                        AAFREEN KHAN
I started a Policy with you “LBD2105082”, which commenced on[protected], and this was a 3 year policy with a term of 10 years. Rs. 6250 per quarter, that is Rs. 25, 000/- per year. So the premium submission ended last year, and now that I want to withdraw the amount as I am in need of some hard cash, AVIVA is harassing me !!!
I sent my representative three times to their Brabourn Road Branch, Salt lakeBranch and Park Street Branch and all of them refused to help and send the guy back asking for the bank statement of 2011, but as per Insurance and RBI Law it is not at all necessary, as I have the cancelled cheque of the bank, and my name and account number is printed on the cheque. So this is only sheer harassment.
Even I talked to the customer care department, and they told there should not be any problem withdrawing the amount. But the guys in those branches of AVIVA does not seem to co-operate with me.
I must say, AVIVA already lost its faith in the market with the worst service they are giving to the customers, and this kind of behavior and attitude only make it worse. If customers like me, find out that they give importance and attention to the customers only while starting a policy, and then just ignore them, then I don’t think this will send a very good impression to the general public about AVIVA. And I also think, they should never hope a customer reference after all these harassments.
Customers only withdraw an amount when it is needed very much, and if they harass us at that time, then I must say, AVIVA is going to get a very bad customer feedback from now on, and everybody will fear to invest thru AVIVA, or start any policy from AVIVA. And I think you can understand, that will be the end of their business.
