[Resolved]  Epaf Course Through NIIT Imperia — Improper course fee

Dear Sir / Madam,

NIIT Ltd is conducting various management courses through its business center called "NIIT Imperia". These courses are actually conducted by Indian Institute of Management. I am currently doing a course called "Executive Program in Applied Finance" in IIM Calcutta. Initially, they informed me fee as Rs. 1, 70, 000/-. But they had one policy of issuing a gift coupon to old students who can give the same to new student whereby new one can get 10% discount. But this one was not known to me. I got cleared my entrance exam in Dec 2007. In Feb 2008, NIIT announced the result and I paid Rs. 50, 000/- in cash on 7th Feb 2008. Next day I got an email from centre head saying that it is enough to pay Rs. 17, 000/-. So I paid Rs. 33, 000/- extra. In the month of Mar 2008, my banker paid Rs. 153, 000/- to NIIT office. So refund amount was Rs. 33, 000/-. I got this refund only on May 28, 2008 without any interest. I have photocoy of the voucher and the cheque. NIIT almost held this money for almost 4 months. To add to this problem, my name was printed wrongly as "DHANJAYAN J" instead of "DHANANJAYAN J". Any how I managed to encash my money. When I asked this to NIIT Imperia, Hyderabad center head Mr. BellamKonda Chandrasekar, he says it is company policy. I can’t understand this policy that gives benefit to some students (that too who pays in installments) and not for others. Please take my complaint for both the interest amount and so called discount on the total course fee. I don’t want students in future to suffer because of this discriminative kind of corporate policy.

Thanks and regards,
Dhananjayan.J.
