Dear sir
I have purchased the dish T.V. freedom package scheme in march 2006. The cost for the activation and the zenega connectivity controller LNB cost Rs 3000/- and installation. They gave me the services up to last week. That is 31st dec 2008. This year onwards the free channels are blocked and not even i am not able to go in to the controllers settings. While i contacted them they say we have to take any scheme as monthly payemet, which is aginst only viewing the free channels. Now I heard that we can't make use of the disch controller also, while we have to go for other sattellite free channel service provider we have to buy new one setup which will cost Rs 3000/- more. Also the dish TV not given any warning that after two yeras we have to take paymet basis at the time the purchse. can i get any justice for this?. Here with i am attaching the communication with the dis T.V. along with my mail.

I am the customer for the Dish TV. I am having the dish controller of
zenega model # CD-1004s. I have opted for the free channel viewing at the
same time i am having the card interface facility also. Still i have not
changed any of my option from viewing the free channel. But last week i
got trouble in watching the channels. My receiver has been cut of and not
receiving the signals. also it is being locked. The manual tuning
operation is also not comming. While i went to the dealer he said to
communicate the phone number which is been given. Also i tried that number
which give the automatically generated voice and not able to get anything.
I request you to kindly do the needful to get free scheme enabled.

Dish TV — Not able to watch channels

Since last 02 month, I am facing problem with Dish TV broadcasting as many of the channels are not able to watch. After continuous follow up, it seems that Dish TV Customer care are not able to resolve the problem.

On 7.09.2011 (at about 6.15 pm), issue was again discussed with one of the customer care lady & call logged for corrective action (Compliant No[protected]. But no one reported to resolve the problem & without correction I received message that "Your Dish TV complaint No 68675052 is resolved. We hope you are satisfied with the resolution."

    We have not been able to log into dishtv to recharge our account for the last two consecutive days. TImes Now and CNN IBN have gone off the air I cannot get through to your toll free number all I want to do is PAY you and even that is so difficult. Yours is a service organization and please upgrade your services. They are well below standards. Your customer service seems to have no face or voice to it. When I call. All i get to hear is that YOUR CALL IS IMPORTANT TO US PLEASE STAY ON THE LINE!!! WHAT RUBBISH. Please pull up your socks if you have them.

      I have been a DISH TV Customer since last 2 Years. Their customer service is just pathetic with all false promises and they every now and then breaks TRAI rule to do unethical business practice.

      I have a Multi Connection with Both Parent and Child VC. You only can renew Parent VC and Child VC gets renewed automatically with same sets of channels. That how it has been working for last 2 years.

      While on 11-Dec-2008, I renewed it online, It only renewed by Parent VC and Child VC gets blacked out completely. On repeated complain with Customer service and After writing chains of emails, Child VC gets restored but with many missing channels. When I again filed a written complaint they told me it's their new policy and to get the lost channels I have to purchase separate packs.

      I just want to make others aware on 3 points.

      Point 1: It's completely against regulation of TRAI to remove any channels from package without giving notice to Customer. They didn't give any notice and simply cheating customer by informing this after a 6 Months renewal.

      As per TRAI Rule,
      Moreover, these DTH QoS Regulations require the DTH operators to give prior notice before taking any channel off the air. The relevant provisions of the DTH QoS Regulations, 2007 read as under:-
      “6. Discontinuing exhibiting of any channel only after notice.—

      (1) No direct to home operator shall take off the air or discontinue exhibition of any channel without giving prior notice to the direct to home subscribers.
      (2) The notice referred to in sub-regulation (1) shall be published widely.
      (3) Nothing contained in sub-regulation (1) shall apply in case of discontinuance of exhibition of any channel caused by disturbances of weather or natural calamities or reasons beyond control of the direct to home operator.”.

      Point 2: As per their package cost, if I want to get all channels same as Parent VC, that costs me Rs.470 per month for Child VC where as Parent VC costs me Rs, 337 per Months from where it's quite evident they don't want to promote the child VC concepts altogether and trying to arm twist customer by taking this surprising Pricing Strategy. As usual their Customer service fail to give any answer to this.

      Point 3: Now when I understood they are trying to cheat customer going against the rule of TRAI, I asked for permanent disconnection as I feel local cable operators are much more reliable. Then someone for first time in my entire 2 years tenure called me from DISH TV and asked the reasons for leaving, I explained everything and when asked for refund of 6 months subscription I already paid (Rs.3100) they said it's not their policy to refund (only Rs. 400 refund possible for each VC) even if customer wants to disconnect.

      If you are not located in a remote place to get a local Cable operator, Please don't caught in TRAP of these Cheater DTH providers. There is absolutely no governance on checking these companies or stopping them from these kind o[censored]nethical practices. I have experience of SKY DTH in UK but never had faced a single problem like this.

      DISH TV (Direct to Home) — PATHETIC SERVICE

      Dear Sir,
      1. I am shocked to learn that Mr Jawahar Goel has recently launched a new scheme to provide free Set boxes, with the purpose of widening the customer base...and increasing the business many folds. There is some thing called the 'Slenderness Ratio'. When the height of a business is raised, so is the supporting base... The same can be easily understood by watching 'Maruti Udyog' . Their customer care and support/service base has been expanded enough to take care of their expanding business.
      2. Unfortunately, the Service being provided by Dish TV is pathetic. What they may never understand is it is equally important to take care of the existing customers than be focussing on increasing the number of viewers and Sharukh Khan Ads .There seems to be a nexus between the Sr Managers dishing out "Maintenance Contracts" and un-deserving / in-competent Authorised Service Franchisee ...for vested interests? GOD knows why else would the system tolerate so many complaints.
      3. The persons manning the Customer Care uses the Dish TV User (Complainant ) as an extended technician...with all instructions to correct the fault on the phone!( Ref :-Mr Sandeep from your Customer Care against Complaint No[protected] .
      4. Our Dish TV has been non-functional since the last one month, despite paying the Authorised Service
      Franchise "M.R.ELECTRONICS" the problem persists.
      Ref-(a) Complaint No-1456326 dt 27 Apr 08.
      (b) Complaint No 13085752 dt 09 May 08.
      (c) Complaint No 13114855 dt 12 May 08.
      These still remain un-attended / non-functional.
      5. If the Complaints are so large in number that the system is unable to attend them, then it is also a reflection on their technically inferior network.
      No wonder people are recommending Tata-Sky ...
      6. Top Mgt - Please dont pass on this complaint as some disgruntled man's opinion...carry out some introspection on your failing support sys.

      My Installation (VC No: [protected]) is still Imcomplete & I am getting pathetic response from customer care/ your field engg's... My complaint no is: 13955200 but still no one has attented it... & today customer care told me that status of my call is closed in their database, though no-one has attented the call...

      Called several people in Dish - Mr. Sunny Talwar, Mr. Adil, Mr. Bipin Kumar but no one responded back.. Cant expect such pathetic services from DISH TV..



      1. Signal is always weak and lot of channels dont display due to weak signal strength.
      2. The customer care is pathetic and they speak very rudely.
      3. Technicians dont have proper tools to troubleshoot problems.




      Kindly resolve at the earliest !

        ITS ALMOST 5 DAYS...I HAVE THREE CONNECTIONS...I AM VERY MUCH FRUSTATED, AM BEEN DISHTV CUSTOMER FOR THE PAST 2+ YRS AND I DONT HAVE DUES.O N 22ND DEC 08, I ADDED RS.1010/- TO MY ACCOUNT, FROM THAT TIME I AM NOT GETTING ANY CHANNELS NOT EVEN NE TV - CHANNEL NO 855. PLACED SO MANY COMPLAINTS NO RESPONSE...

        You are too mild in your tone and tenor, actually their agents are CHIRS, they bill you 200 ruppes for visit, to tell you send the sset to their showroom, for repairs, every once in a way they claim fault is in yout tv, when we say no we have other tvs, and same fault occuers on other tvs, they come to check then agree wiuth you and collect 200 rupees sevice visit fee, to confirm what we said was right, have paid 1500 ruppees so far and still the set top box is not working

        Dish TV — frustrating

        The MOST frustrating service/product ever. NEVER EVER buy this product from Zee. I think Subhash Chandra CEO of Zee is a useless guy who don't know how to handle business.

        I have brought it a year back or so and ever few months they will do certain things and its very difficult to get hold of. Recently there Toll free number is not working. I have to make a STD call to get my problem fixed, also you cannot get hold of the customer care executive for 10-15 mins.

        Please don't go for it.

          Sir,
          Yesterday (23.12.08) I tried to complaint about non-functioning of STB and not getting any channels but I am sorry to say that your executives did'nt booked the complaint. Instead they referred me to go to the Dealer from which I bought the connection for Dish TV. When I contacted the Dealer he again referred to Dish TV consumer care. Now I do not understand where to go. My Dealer is in Ashok Vihar and Prop. is Mr. Happy, his Mob.No. is [protected].
          I again contacted the consumer care of dish tv in the evening but they only promised that they will get back to me at my mobile when they get time. One whole day has passed but neither I heard from anyone nor my problem is solved.
          I again request that pl. look into the matter urgently and contact me at my mob.([protected]) or [protected] and solve the same.

          Me too facing the same problem...
          Set top box is just blinking for 3days..nothing came.
          Called a person who came with new STB for 1800Rs. no repair...He s telling that the old one is china made so use and throw can't repair i[censored] want Dish TV Service go for the new STB...

          I felt instead we can go for a new connection...

            Hi,



            My name is VENKAT and I have called dish T.V customer service at[protected], I know that this service center is located in noida which doesn’t have a enough qualified people to attend the calls(I can prove it by calling once again).My complaint is regarding a condenser failure in set top box which I have purchased on 8-AUG-2007(I know that this is out of its warranty period).I first called dish T.V may be 2 months back and told that my set top box is taking very long time to turn on.It starts with blinking amber and slowly it gets stabilized, I thought this could be some electronic component failure and the same was informed to me by the dish T.V rep.He told me that he will send a tech home to fix the issue, onsite tech called me nextday and he told me it would take 7 days to get it fixed by dish T.V and it can be done within 30 mins if I take it to HCL –DISHCARE located in mountroad, Chennai.He told me it would cost me around 250 bucks.I said I will take care and he closed my case.I took it to HCL –DISHCARE, 3 days back, I sat and explained the issue, they immediately said o.k this is condenser problem(Without even plugging the box and checking the board functionality, I wonder why these people are not in NASA..??)..they said it would cost me 253/- bucks and I said O.K, unfortunaltely there was no current at that time and I was asked to wait for few mins, While I waited for 30 mins 8 DISH TV set-top boxes came with similar problem(I repeat it …WITH EXACT SAME PROBLEM..BLINKING AMBER..TAKES VERY LONG TO STABLISE TO RED/GREEN). .(FYI:My qualification is B.E(Electronics), Gold medalist from Anna university), I said to the person who is taking complaints that this is a product failure, if the same problem is repeatedly found in many boxes, DISH T.V must do something about it, They said I should not worry about it .I immediately called dish t.v at[protected], First call, I spoke with a guy, he hung up on me, second guy did the same after listening everything, third guy named AKHILENDRAN, Thank god he listened everything and said he can send out a tech home to fix this problem, but it would cost me 400 bucks.I asked him to connect to manager .He placed me on hold for a while and said his manager (T.L name: Meenakshi her team manager name is PAWAN), TICKET number: [protected], He said his T.L is busy rite now and committed a callback after 30 mins, she called me back and said she will send out a tech home to replace the part with free of cost(I asked her thrice and she said she will do it for me within 24 hours and she disconnected the call while I was making a note of the ticket number).I went to shop and cancelled my repair and I went home all the way(from mount road to medavakkam a big long journey).After 3 days kannan(onsite tech) called me and said he is going to come home, he said the same old story told by the very first tech(it would take 7 to 10 bus days, I told him I cant wait that long as T.L from noida said she will do it in 24 hrs.)he then said he will bring a standalone settop box from me.kannan and another guy came home and they fixed another settop box and provided me a receipt and said it will be around 450/- to repair this box(Imagine how frustating it would be..I am on peak level of my anger).I explained the whole situation to these guys they said their job is to come home and take the part to repair, that’s it and they started removing the new settop box .My wife came in this scene and she said cant u understand wat my husband is saying, onsite tech became angry, we asked him to get out of our house.He went away with bad language from his mouth.I immediately called in[protected] and told the same spoke to rajesh, he spoke very rudely, he said “Do wat ever you want to do”, I can do nothing from my end. Do you think after all this will I leave it here.Certainly not, If I want I can put 4 different set-top boxes on 4 corners of my house, the way I was treated by dist v made me feel that I should never use the DISH T.V.I will send the same story to all my friends and atleast stop purchasing this bledy dish T.V products.



            Always remember one happy customer contributes 0.8% of the revenue but one irate customer can reduce the revenue by 9%.(Source: Times of India—FEB 2008)

            I will definitely prove it to DISH T.V.

            HI Venkat,

            I am facing the same problem and DISHTV is behaving in the same way. They did not mention anything about the hardware though (condenser pfailure), just asked me that they would charge 225/- to upgrade the software. I doubt that problem would go away after upgradation of the software.

            DishTV — Very bad customer service

            I have been corresponding with customer service dept. for more than 3 months now. Everytime we remind them about any problem, they give a standard computer generated response "giving a new complaint no. and we are working on it". But really not doing anything. Again when you remind about it, They give a new customer complaint No. and again standard response "we are working on it".

            This happened with me innumerable times. I have many complaint nos. for same complaint.!!!

            Now when I threatened them of going to media, they have started new tactics. They started giving name and addresses of their authorised dealers to be contacted to solve my problem. They all say they can not do anything in the matter!!! Only company can do something!!!"

            Surprisingly, their Manager also say he does not know anything!!! He will have to check up with higher authorities!!!

            I think only the chairman of the company may be able to do something.

            Can we all dissatisfied customers form an association and teach these so called customer service managers some lesson??

            I have same problem with STB of DISH TV .But my STB stabilises with orange LED after few hours which never turns green. Same story is narrated by Consumer Call centre and local service dealers.Why an upgradation of Software or product failure should be charged from Consumers.
            I wish I buy fresh connectiinh from other DTH service provider and forget DIsh TV like a bad dream...
            its hopeless i got the connection on 01/06/09 it worked properly for a week but now shows no service n therer customer care executives are n useless people...

            Same case here. But my problem is of a different nature. It showed 'please insert the smart card' whenever i switch on the STB. Hence i raised a complaint to the CC and they replied that the smart card has become old and i have to replace the card at a cost of 400 bucks. I wonder what made the smart card to grow 'OLD'. I have never removed the card out of the box.

            In fact, my wife prefered Tata sky over Dishtv. But it was my fault in convincing her to buy DIshtv. From now on, i have no other option but to stop my friends and relatives from buying dishtv.
            I have the same problem with the setup box and with the Dish TV customer service. My setup box has totally stopped working now - not even amber light - it gives me a flickering red light.

            Their website is also faulty and won't let me submit a problem!

            DishTV — very bad product

            My settop box takes around 15 mins to start.

            I lodged a complaint on September 18, their executive came on 20th and took my settop box with him. He gave back our box by evening. After two days the problem started again, saying "please insert your viewing card."

            I tried for 20 days to reach that executive but to no avail then finally I lodged another complaint with no response then i lodged third complaint today and they say that take that box to the service center and i have to pay them again, though i have already payed the amount of 600 Rs. to them a month back.

            They did not tell us that it had one month warranty, and now the customer care executive is saying why you did not take it within one month then you would not have to pay. WHOSE FAULT IS THIS??????????

            IS THERE ANYONE WHO WILL HELP OR DO SOMETHING AGAINST THEM??
            I agree, this is the WORST DTH PROVIDER IN COUNTRY. I am highly dissatisfied and want to change but the problem is we have recharged it for whole year

            Dish TV — Repeated failures of SET TOP BOX

            This has reference to the complaint no. 31171505 and 31205138 registered with Dish TV India customer care,New Delhi regarding the repeated failure of set top box.
            I am really shocked how these companies functioning by selling the poor quality of products to the consumer and making us fool. I have purchased Dish Tv connection in June 2007 and its set top box got failed during Jan 2009.After horrible experiences with Dish TV representatives, i got it repaired at the cost of Rs. 450.Again, it stopped functioning since 15 November giving absurd messages on the screen.When i approached to Customer care, they dont have any answer except you got it repaired once again.I dont understand,how it could failed repeatedly when there is a limited operation as soon as set top box is concerned.Nobody touches it for months.However,even after registering complaints and getting assurance from the seniors of Dish tv that my query will be resolved soon,i didnt get any reply till date eventhough all their calls are taped.Finally, i have decided to go for normal cable instead of these mental stresses.I feel that Govt should frame the gidelines, rules and regulations in favour of consumer and make it available to public so that such type of malpractices and cheatings by respective companies shall be brought under control.Moreover,they are also earning the money on the name of balance /otstanding amount every month even though you are paying full amount i[censored] are making payment through netbanking or credit card.I have raised these query so many times with Dish Tv but their customer care replies that their account dept will reply on this issue which will never happen.Can't imagine,how much (crores of rupee) they r earning because of our CHALTA HAI ATTITUDE.
            Yes U can do it all this since u are operating in India.But still i hope one day u have to pay for it.

            Dishtv customer service is one of the worst service. im being a customer with Dishtv for last 2 years. now i had a problem i called[protected] i spoke with some one[protected] around 2.00pm he asked me to call me after 2hours, i called the same # after 4pm the same day and i spoke with MEENAKSHI (Chennai zone) and i requested her to activate Tamil one & Tamil two she was very rude with me she ordered me to activate through SMS. she didn't even gave the SMS information. i requested her to transfer the call to team leader or supervisor on the floor she refused and said i will not transfer the call nor i will not even give the name of the team leader or supervisor later on she kept me on hold for a very longer time so please provide me good service if not i suggest you to close your company

            im very much disappointed with your service i don't why she didn't even transfer the cal to the team leader so im planning to cancel all my connections with you because of your bad customer.


            im looking for a solution ASAP and dont repeat it again.

            if im not getting the solution for this problem im going to sue this company... we are apying you the money right so im looking for the solution ASAP.

              Hi,

              Despite repeated calls and complaint reference numbers[protected], talking to Customer Centre Executives like Mr Shriram, Munim Singh, Pradeep, Ramesh, Pooja, Anuj and so many people I have not yet received access to the channel OTV Oriya (849) for which I have paid since the last three months. I have already subscribed to the channel and whenever I switch to channel 849-OTV, I get CONAX conditional access message. Despite complaining for more than 10 times and calling for more than 15 hours on the telephone I am sick of the service rendered by your customer center executives. I would seriously consider sacking them from their job. All they do is ask me to wait for 4-24 hours and keep my channel fixed on 855 so that activation of OTV is faster. Dont you think that you have made me fool enough ?? I am seriously upset with the service that has been rendered by DISH TV and wish to raise a complaint in the CONSUMER COURT as well so that everyone gets to know what a lovely service you people provide. This is my last complaint with you guys after which I will seriously go ahead and file a case in the CONSUMER COURT. Enough is enough.

              Request you to read through the complaint, check with the Customer Centre Logs and provide a resolutions as fast as possible. Also, since its a mistake from your end, you should compensate by giving me a Movie on Demand for the month absolutely free since I have already paid for three months for OTV and have not viewed a single minute of the channel.

                I had purchased a television on 25/10/08 from DASS Electric Trading Co (P) Ltd. vide invoice no 06432AC. It consisted of a free one-year Dish TV subscription consisting of Happy Home Pack.
                The Dish Antenna was installed on 10/11/08 however, the package was not activated.
                On 28/11/08, after several calls to various people across DASS and Dish TV, a Silver package was activated for my connection.
                This package includes mostly free-to-air channels and is not the package I initially paid for. Inspite of repeated calls, they refuse to activate the Happy Home Pack. Please Help.
                Consequences : Due to this situation, I am unable to view channels of my choice. Also, I am unable to recharge for any other channels.

                  I am a customer of dish tv having a problem with your service. I have two connections from your company vide

                  I recharged my first connection on 23/march/2008 for one year and I paid for Rs. 3240 /-. But you disconnected my connection on 7/12/2008 without any information . I complaint for this to your customer care service on 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14/dec/2008 but there is no any response from you .you completely hrash me from 7/12/08 to till date.I am extremly not satisfied from your service because my other connection's set up box was also not working properly from last month while it was under warranty and your response towards that was the same.If you are not able in updating my connections within four hours after receiving my mail then I want you to cut down my both connections and refund my balance recharge otherwise I will go to the cusumer court. This is my first and last warning.

                      I am really disappointed about the service that you have provided. I have been one of the oldest customers of Dishtv but i totally regret my decision n I feel totally cheated by you. I am not able to watch the cricket match on Neo Channel just becuase you are not having a tie up with the channel & are unable to supply the channel for my viewing. Thats after I pay upto Rs.350/- monthly.

                      This in also not the first time this has happened even in the past we've had the same problem with Colours, NDTV imagine, etc... this is your failure in keeping up to the promise of giving us the best I think my local cable does a far better job is atleast giving me everything i want. And it is a shame that dishtv NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OTHER PROVIDERS IN SORTING OUT THEIR ISSUES WITH THE CHANNELS.

                            My VC No. is [protected]. I am subscriber of DISH TV maxi pack. My renewal date is 07.02.2009. My pack includes CNBC channels. DISH TV informed by SMS on 15.09.08 that till my next renewal I can enjoy these channels.
                            on 11.12.08 I paid additional amount Rs. 100/- for COLOR channel as against subsription of Rs.35/- for two months as no low value card was vailable with DISH TV Office. Color Channel added but CNBC channel were cut. entire 100/- has appropriated without any change in renewal date.
                            Fail to understand why CNBC channels cut before renewal and why 100/- appropriated as aginst subscription of 35/-
                            No one is able to reply from customer care. I wasted about 100/- on making calls to customer care.

                            as i know my channel are block cont dish tv they reply the free offer cont since 19 feb 09 and they not givan free offer of recharg of Rs 700 on 23 apr 09 as they cleam .

                              In spite of paying 6000/- in advance, the connection at vc no [protected] isnt working for the last 15 days!!!

                              It all began when i asked Dish tv to activate 'colours' channel!
                              Even after several phone calls to customer care almost 5 calls /day for the last 15 days!! still no result nd the person on the other side just apologised!! that had no idea what to do!! i dunno how these dish tv [censored]s keep a$$holes as their customer care reps!!

                              And the balance of 6000/- that the dish tv was showing is no longer there!!!
                              nd everytime he says we'll inform u in 2 days!!
                              i mean what the hell!! 6k gone!! this totally $uks!!

                              i'll advice all u ppl to stay away from Dish TV cuz they suck!! their customer care sux almost everything about them purely $UX!!

                              Tata Sky nd Airtel are way better!
                              I was forced to take a Airtel DTH connection!

                              Now i just want my 6k back!! no Dish TV for me! EVER! i'll advice all u ppl the same!

NOW TODAY ALL MY CHANNELS WERE BLOCKED AT 2:30P.M.INSPITE OF MAKING MY SEVERAL PHONE CALLS AT CUSTOMER CARE, FROM WHERE A REPEATED ANSWER WAS RECEIVED EVERY TIME THAT YOUR COMPLAINT WAS FORWARDED, FOR WHICH I WAS GIVEN A COMMON COMPLAINT NUMBER FROM 08.12.2008 WHICH IS 18304278. AT THE MOMENT WE ARE NOT ABLE TO WATCH THE CHANNELS EVEN FREE TO AIR.
                                IN THIS WAY I AM COMPELLED TO SAY THAT DISH TV IS A BIG CHEATER AND THEY HAVE APPOINTED A BIG ARMY OF CHEATERS AT THEIR CUSTOMERCARE CENTRES FROM WHERE THEY MAKE FOOL TO PEOPLE BY SNATCHING MONEY FROM THE CUSTOMER`S POCKET AND NOT ATTEND THE CUSTOMERS PROPERLY OR TALKED PROPERLY, FOR WHICH THEY ARE APPOINTED.
                                AS THERE IS NO FAULT/LAPSE FROM MY END SO WHY SHOULD I SUFFER ? AND THE INCONVENIENCE WHICH IS HAPPENING TO ME AND MY FAMILY IS THE TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY OF DISH TV.
                                I SUGGEST TO ALL THAT PL. DO NOT GO FOR DISHTV AT ANY COST AS, THEIR SERVICE AFTER GIVING CONNECTION IS ALMOST RUBBISH.

                                  My VC No.[protected] and I have purchased this Dish TV at Gurgaon. Now as I got transferred to Hyderabad, I have paid the renewal charges and installation charges as well. I have called to the customer care so many times but till now no one turned up to install my Dish TV at my Hyderabad address.

                                  Need an immediate response from the dish TV or I will have no option but to take legal path to protect my rights.

                                  Hi,

                                  I have bought a new DISH TV connection from Surabhi Electronics, OMR Road Perungudi Chennai-96 on 06th April’ 2008 and paid him Rs 2950 for setup box and dealer has mentioned me I need to pay 200+350 to Dish TV person for installation and I will get five months subscription free, while purchasing DISH TV I asked categorically to dealer should pay anything for cable, he mentioned I need to pay anything for cable that’s comes free of cost from DISH TV.
                                  After that very next day Dish TV person came to my home for installation and he informed me that we can provide only 12 meter cable at free of cost for installation and incase any extra cable is required I need to pay for that. I had told them I need to confirm the same from dealer end, I went to dealer shop but the dealer told me that he can not do any thing in this case you just talk to Dish TV customer care only.The dealer also not behaved properly with customer, and he told us what ever you want to do, you can fith with DISH TV..I am helpless in that situation.

                                  I called to Dish TV help line and have conversation with Miss Neha at morning 9:30 and asked for any senior person to whom I can convey my problem but she told me that there is no senior available in this time so I can not help you and you need to call after 1 hour if I would like to talk to any Senior Manager than again I called up and have a word with Mr Shanker, Mr Shadab, Mr Prashant but I never comes up with any solution. At last I called up customer care and told to customer care representative on 08th April 08 around 10.00AM and inform them please
                                  send person for my Disk TV installation and I am ready to pay the amount for cable and finally I got one complaint no[protected] and have been told that we will send the person for same with in 48 hours but its already past and no call no solution. I never expect such kind of service from DISH TV..I hope if this way you can want to bother customer,
                                  Daily i called to DISH TV customer care and daily i am getting the same reply that you get wait for 48 hours we will send the engineer for installation
                                  I am feeling very help less beacause i have already paid the amount and not getting the services for that.

                                  Dish TV — Installation not done

                                  We have purchased a TV from Big Bazaar & got Dish TV Set Top Box free with the TV.

                                  For Installation, We have called up our local dealer at Ahmedabad. He has sent one of their representetive on 26.11.2008 for installation & charged for Rs. 1390/- for the maxi pack for 6 months.

                                  Now, Dealer is having any scheme problem with Dish TV & I am not getting my conection active till today.

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,

                                    This is to highlight that the Dish TV is making false commitment at the time of selling device and connection and subsequently asking to pay one time Activation Charge of amount Rs. 705 to activate the connection.

                                    I bought a Dish tv on 25/1/2008 under a promotional scheme at Big Bazar, NOIDA at a cost of Rs 999, which includes Installation and Activation of the device.

                                    At the time of sale the representative of Dish TV sold the device with the commitment that activation could be done any time simply on paying of your monthly subscription of required package you are opting for, now i wish to get the device activated but on paying Rs 300, as monthly subscription i am receiving calls from Dish Tv to pay an extra amount of Rs 705 as an activation charge.

                                    I feels cheated by a company like Dish tv who sold the device first with false commitment and then on paying the subscription amount asked to pay this kind of activation fees.

                                    How a company can ask for subscription charge first and then talking about the activation charges.

                                    Please forward my case if you have certain channel to resolve the issue. I shall be highly obliged.

                                    what i can recharge my dish tv by internet.
                                    Similar problem is being faced by me.

                                    First they did not install despite nearly 1 and half year being lapsed . ( I purchased it in January 2008).
                                    Now they are asking for activation charges, and further that i wont be able to view even free to air channel without activation charges .

                                    Was delat caused by me?
                                    Big Bazar persons are saying they are now not concerned with the sheme and referring to Dish Tv persons.

                                    Can You Take any other legal action thru consumer court.

                                        i have purchased dish tv from Malu sales show room, Gwalior, MP on 19 Jul 08. As iam hailing from Andhra Pradesh I am a viewer of our regional language channels (telugu). I insisted for telugu channels at the time of purchasing of dish tv. The dealer assured me of getting all those channels belongs to telugu language. On the very same day two men from dish tv came to my house and installed the dish antenna. After that they spoke to dish tv dealer (NOIDA) over phone and later asked me to talk to the dealer over my package issues. At that time itself I made clear to that dealer about my stand on telugu language channels. After that he informed me that I fall under Maxi package. I have received all of telugu channels (GEMINI TV, TEJA TV, MAA TV, ETV, ETV2, GEMINI NEWS, GEMINI MUSIC, TV9 AND DD SAPTAGIRI) apart from other language channels. After 5 days I have observed that GEMINI MUSIC CHANNEL AND GEMINI NEWS channels were scrambled. I spoke this matter to our local dish tv complaint cell over phone by spending a fair amount. But I didn't get satisfactory reply from them. And on 31 Jul 08 I received a call from dish tv centre from Noida, and I was informed that GEMINI MUSIC AND GEMINI NEWS channels falls under other catogery and for reception of those channels i have to pay another 30 rupees for a month.

                                        I have purchased dish tv for 4000 rupees and I was assured for all my regional language channels by my dealer and dish tv agent also. And I received all those channels for 5 days also. Asking for extra 30 rupees per month for those two channels is a clear indication of cheating. Apart from that all those my colleages who have purchased dish tv with same package are getting all telugu channels.

                                        I feel this is the only forum now I can redress my geivance with dish tv.

                                        i request you to take up case with dish tv for a favourable ac tion please.
