Guess by now its a known thing that Dish TV customer service is a like a blackhole!! Another instance of proof is here. Check out the events as they unfold!

1. About 5-6 days back - my DishTV VC is due for renewal in about 2 days
2. Dish TV keeps pumping messages to my mobile on Ugadi offer!
3. 4 days back someone from Dish TV Dealer calls me up and asks about my renewal asking me how do i renew. When I tell them that I do it on the net, I am told that the Ugadi offer will not work if we recharge through the net! I keep harping how can that be, but I keep getting the same answer!! So finally, the great executive says she will send someone to pick up cash. Cheque?? "no sir... it will then take 4 days to activate"!! WOW...I give up and tell her - "Ok madam.. send your guy I will pay cash". And, how do I verify the guy is from your company?". am told "sir.. he will give you receipt"!! uh!! good enuf?? anywayz...
4. Next 2 days pass by - no sign of the guy.. I call this lady again.. am told "sir.. he was not there.. he was absent.. bla bla bla.."will send tomorrow..
5. Tomorrow comes in this case. but the guy doesn't!! Meanwhile a guy calls up from DishTV company itself! About the same subject!! He tells me he would send a guy and I can pay by cheque (which is more convenient compared to cash!) - no problems! And he says, in any case (cash/cheque/...), the channels (which by now have almost gone dead) will be reactivated within 4 hours! Even he confirms that if we pay through net, the offer doesn't work!
6. Another day passes.. no sign of this guy also!! Meanwhile the lady calls up asking whether she can send the person (and by the way I had forgotten!! this lady gives a totally different amount for 1 year subsrciption from what our guy from the COMPANY gives!!). I tell her - "madam.. the guy from the company is coming and he is ready to take the cheque and reactivate within 4 hrs.. why cant u?".. "No sir.. if it is cheque its 4 days... and i[censored] are giving cash i will send someone"... "then let the company exec come madam"...
4. hmmm... i keep waiting for this elusive guy! and meanwhile start calling up the bangalore customer care (uhh..its actually "customer, who cares!!!") number and the toll-free #... i keep calling.. keep calling.. 10.. 20 .. 30.. 40..50.. 100.. >100.. still cannot reach!!! I dont know who on earth can reach these numbers!!!
5. Another day-and-a-half passes. I logon to dishtv website... try to send a complaint.. submit..submit..submitt... 15 times.. uh.. 500.internal server error.. !!! WOW.. And again I try to go through the recharge scenario... the offer thing must be hidden somewhere.. i cant see it at least.. and.. the user interface!! wow..need to get a part of Einstein's brain to understand!!
6. I now call up some Chennai number... and voila.. it connects! (mind you - its not a toll free # :-) ).. and someone comes on the line and I tell her about the experience till now...! She says "no sir... the offer is valid with all payment modes..."!! Uh!! I reconfirm.. "Yes sir" comes the answer..! OK.. "madam.. pls stay on line then while I recharge through the net, i can't understand the interface" .. patt.. comes the reply "sir.. for that u have to go to website.. then select this ..bla bla.. and then this and then this and then this.. finally it will ask u for the amount"... uh!! whether it is Website's user interface or the executive's user-interface (i mean communication).. I get the point that they are well in sync! and then i get on to the website.. heloo heloo.. madam is gone...!!

And I spend another half an hour to pour out all these!! Hmm... 3 questions in my mind now -
1. Should I have gone for Tata sky?
2. Should I just dump DishTv and go for Tata Sky?
3. Or just go back to good-old cable??????????????

    DishTv has the most pathetic IVR system I have ever been thru. Staying in Hyderabad and helping my uncle to recharge his account, first thing I had to dial a 1800 number from my mobile and then it took me 10 attempts to get to a maximum point where it asked to enter the amount that I want to pay. before that it would asked the amount I got disconnected automatically for more than about ten times... and when I gave up and tried talking to a rep.. my call in Q for about 30 minutes... cant imagine so many cxs calling Dishtv about 6:30 AM ... if they are then you will have to get your services improved.

    Neways ... after waiting for 30 minutes in the Q I come to know the call has timed out and I am forced to cal back.

    I called almost all the stated that were mentioned in the list...and none I was able to reach any rep

    and the most shocking part is when you dial the number for Hyd ... it doesn’t accept any command at all. says to continue press *and you press * for thousand times and still says press * to continue...

    the amount I spent on my phone to recharge once could have actually got me another months subscription.

    Delhi center I get to talk to a humar:
    first a lady : sounded sleepy... asked for the details abt 5-6 times ... with out my knowledge I am back in the IVR system... then I wait 10 minutes in the Q to get to another rep Manoj Kumar who doesn’t understand anything atall... when I asked for a senior or a supervisor... he started giving the call closing ... first he said there is no one senior in the shift right now, when I said I am recording the call he better not lie he gave call closing and put me on mute and disappeared ... I waited on call for close to 15 minutes for him to return and he never did...

    .wll i have got ride of dish service and got tata sky ... have no more complaints about dish as i dont deal them anymore... they can do what ever and however they want i have no issues with tatasky thanks you
    In spite of my repeated complaints through e-mail I have not got any type of help from Dish TV. the only thing when I sent an e-mail they gave me an assurance that your problem will be solved within 3 days but these 3 days never come to Dish TV. Finally, my set of box completely stopped on 20/11/2009. Can any body suggest what to do now?
    26th Dec ember 2010 - Delhi. I also tried to do IVR Recharge. Its a disaster. Pathetic is too mild. The call center reps are also quite pathetic. I called this morning at least 5 times. At least 4 times i tried IVR and got cut off. I tried then to send SMS 57575 for home collection. After 4 hours some one called and started talking in Hindi> When I requested to speak in English, she banged the phone down.Tried again Finally when I got through, I asked one of the reps where was the closest location in South Delhi so that I could pay directly. He gave me 3 addresses of which one was Rythem Center in South Ex Part II Delhi. I asked him whether I could go there and pay since it was sunday. He said shops will be closed. So I asked then what is the use of giving me this info when I want to recgarge today. Then he put me on hold and then after long time came back to confirm that it will be open. So I went from Khan Market to South Ex. At the shop, they said that they deal only with SKY TV. Just imagine how much time and effort I have wasted just to pay my DisTV recharge on time and it is still not done after one full days efforts.

      I purchased dish TV connection from Big-Bazar last year on 26th January
      2008 vide bill number 63523.I purchased it in 999Rs.The VC number is
      [protected].I collected all the wires/antenna from assistant but did not
      get it installed because I got transferred.So i never used that so far.

      What I was told at the time of purchase that first time it will be
      installed and activated free of cost and I have to just pay the monthly
      subscription charges(depending on what package I choose.)

      Today I call up the Dish TV customer care center and the customer care
      executive tells me that I have to pay 990Rs(700 activation charges +200
      installation charges+service tax) and after that I have to pay monthly
      subscription charges as well(this I am ready to pay) for viewing the
      channels.

      I request you to please look into the matter and install and activate the
      connection free of cost, as promised.

        i purchased itz cash card of Rs.900/-, since two days i am trying to recharge my dish tv with itz cash card but the dishtv site is not reponding

          I have already plaed 4 complaints. 3 of these complaints are closed without any action. I am still experiencing difficulty in accessing channels. it has been 7 days now. the first complaint was raised on 16th spet 2008,

          No one has come to my house till now to realign or reinstall the dish. Just becuase i am under warranty no one wants to relocate it for free.
          If my problem is not solved i am shifting to Sky or Hathway..enough of your Dish TV.

          This is the mail I wrote to them very long time back.

          After this I changed my house and raised request for realignment/reinstallation'. The Request number is[protected] placed on 22nd march 2009 . This time they havent closed the case even now. its been more than 8 days.My VC number is - [protected].
          My contract with them ends in May and I am planning to call it quits. I am probably shifting to our good old Cable operator or some other local Dish operaters. I have lost faith in these so called Channel operators.

            THIS COMPLAINT IS REGARDING THE RECHARGE FREE OFFER OF DISH TV.IACTIVATED MY DISH TV BY 700 PLATINUM RECHARGE FREE OFFER OF DISH TV WHERE THEY CLAIM TO PROVIDE FREE MOVIE ON DEMAND FOR WORTH RS 560 & FREE A LA CARTE FOR RS 140.SO I HAVE ODERED A MOVIE KISMAT KONNECTION ON 27/03/2009/WHICH DIDNT GET ACTIVATED FOR 4HRS, I CALLED UPTHE CUSTOMER CARE & I WAS INFORMED THAT CHEK AT 8.PM YOU LL BE ABLE TO SEE THE MOVIE .tHE AGENT ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THIS MOVIE IS NOT FREE WITH THE EXPLANATION THAT MOVIES ON CHANNEL 3, 4 &5 ARE ONLY FREE, WHEREAS IT IS NOT MENTIONED ANY WHERE IN THE BROUCHER OF THE COMPANY.EVEN THE DEALER OF THE COMPANY DIDNT INFORME ABOUT THIS & THEY ARE CHARGING ME 70 RS FOR THE MOVIE.MOREOVER I HAVE PLATINUM RECHARGE WHERE I DONT GET ALL THE CHANNELS WHICH ARE MENTIONED IN THE BROUSHER.

              Respected Sir,
              I am a subscriber of Dish TV and my VC No is [protected] and I want to inform you that my subscription was about to over on last 13th of March. I received a telephone call from dish TV that I should contact to Mr. Vivek Vichare of Aryan Enterprises 1226-R. Navjeevan Building# 3 MUMBAI, Mobile No [protected] for renewing my subscription. I called Mr. Vivek on said number and he send me a lady in my office. This lady took 1800 rupees from me and said that my subscription will be renewed by evening. Same time I received a SMS on my mobile from Mr. Vivek that he has received Rs. 1800 from my end. But he did not recharge my account. On 17 he said that he has recharged my account by 2100 Rs. And he wants 300 rupees more. When I called Dish TV customer care they told me that my account was recharged only by seven hundred rupees. Since then when I am calling Mr. Vivek he is not answering me any more. In this way he has cheated my 1100 rupees. I am feeling my self cheated by Dish TV because I have received his address and telephone number through Dish TV only. Please check my matter and find out who is the dish TV staff behind it

                i have just recharged my account with platinum pack worth 1800/-. in that i was able to have alacarte pack worth 360/-, and when i was in dish tv centre the NEW UPDATED broucher was showing few channels in platinum pack, but when i tried to surf, the message was saying i have to sms dish tv ppl to get that perticuler channel, such as zoom, NDTV, BOOMRANG etc. TCM was in there with the NEW UPDATED broucher that i got while recharging to 1800/-. now TCM is gone and has been relaced by WB movies and now the message is comming up as its going be off air after 31st march..now if i m PAYING 1800/-, just to see channels going offline after few weeks, i rather have my money back and go to another subscriber. wish to resolve this issue soon as possible.

                      Dish TV — Some channels removed during the paid contract

                      Hi,

                      I signed up a one year contract in May 08 and paid the money in advance. I was promised a set of channels for that contract.



                      For the last one week, some of channels have been stopped by Dish TV.



                      When I called up the customer care, I was told by at least two of their sales persons that these channels are no longer free channels even if I have signed and paid for those earlier. When I asked to speak to a senior executive, I was put on 2-minute hold for n times and finally hung up.



                      Is that you treat your customers. Even after charging the money in advance you tell them that the number of channels will cost extra during the contract.



                      Is that not attracting a complaint to BBB [Better Business Beurau]. ?



                      May be you should cancel mu contract and refund my money asap. At least I can sign up with the other guys.



                      I am also sending this complaint to Consumer Complaint department.

                      Dish TV — Removal of channels from the pre paid package

                      I bought 1 year dish TV package (dish TV maxi) in May '08. At that time I was said that the package includes CNBC TV 18 and CNBC awaz. I have the broucher of the same.From last few days I was not able to view these particular channels saying access not allowed.

                      When I contacted them their intial response was that the package I have dosent consists of these two channels. When I showed them the proof, now they are saying that these channels have been removed from ny packages.

                      How can channels be removed from my package when the package contract is for 1 year, which ends only in May'09.???

                        I recharge my account by airtel mobile with the scheme of recharge free option but i am yet not get my alacarte pack.when i call on customer care, they say that scheme is not applicable when recharge with airtel number.

                            I had recharged my Dish TV for platinum package along with regional tamil/malayalam and not SOUTH PLATINUM... i have been trying to explain this to ur coustomer care executive for 15 minutes and she was rude. my VC number is [protected] registerd in my name Dr. Vinod Xavier Franklin. Iam not receiving any star channels and Channel V and couple of other channels. Kindly look into the matter and do the needful at the earliest. and i diont know what package u have initiated for me but THE IDEA OF NOT INCLUDING STAR MOVIES OR STAR NEWS IN SOUTH PLATINUM PACKAGE IS RUDE. WHAT MAKES U ALL THINK THAT SOUTH INDIANS DONT UNDERSTANT HINDI (OUR NATIONLA LANGUAGE ) OR DO U THINK WE ARE ILLETERATE THAT WE are south indians so it wont matter if we dont WATCH STAR MOVIES.

                              I Purchased New Dish TV Connection from Kundan Electronics (Bommnahalli) Bangalore.on 6 Mar 2009. From Yesterday My Connection has been disconnected. I came to Know From Customer case that Dealer (AV Solutions) has not submitted my Subscriber Application form to DISH TV. When I am asking that Dealer he is telling that He has submitted my details to Dish TV.

                              Now I am not able to understand that fault is from whose side.
                              I have send a fax to Dish TV on 15 mar 2009 at 10:30 Am. but customer case is saying that they have not received any Fax.

                              So I am requesting you to Solve the Problem. Otherwise I have to a Complaint Against Dish TV in Consumer Forum. And File a case against Dish TV.

                              Nobody is ready to take Responsibility.
                              If my problem is not solved immediately I will put this case in Newspaper also.

                                I am DishTV subscriber. I have taken connection in 7/07/2008 for one year under parent-child scheme.I was unable to view DTH sevices from 13/01/2009. I telephoned the call center. My complaint was registered & I was told to contact their dealer regarding the billing. I have taken DTH child connection from Damodar Appliances, Pune on payment of Rs 3000/ . In spite of this services are blocked within six months. I contacted & booked a trouble ticket with call center many times & every time I was told that services will resume from 4- 24 hrs & sevices are not resume till date. I contacted the call center at least 20 times. Every time I was told that there is a billing problem. Problem is from Dish TV side and it will be rectified. First of all getting the telephone no is itself is very difficult, after picking call center was putting me on HOLD for at least 45 min to 90 min.In this process I spoke to different people like Mr Amit, Prabhat, & many people from customer care explaining my cock and bull story and I was told that it will take another 24 hrs for the problem to get sorted. Mr Kamlesh(Dish TV pune ) & Nijoy(CC teamlead) assured that it will be corrected. Since it was not sorted...Every day the same practice is going on ...I am fed up of this third class service.
                                I learned that finally, I have been fooled by DISH TV people that it will be activated within 4-24hrs since 13/01/09.

                                Till date(15/03/09)all the channels are blocked... I would like to know that after how many months I will get the signals?

                                I firmly belief that DishTV is taking people for a ride. I SUFFERED MENTAL AGONY FOR their FAULT ADMITTED BY their OWN STAFF. NO QUESTION OF LONG AND HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP. Dish TV is not providing service for charity and I have paid for it. Many times I had to call the telephone on my expense which is not toll free as the toll free lines were busy many times for redressing a problem created by Dish TV.

                                When I demanded to refund my legitimate amount including the unutilized subscription charges since their service is poor. The answer was negative.

                                Now I going to register a case in Consumer court against the dealer & Dist TV as I have written document/ proofs against them...

                                Is anybody having Dish TV escalation matrix, pls provide me

                                Dish TV is the most pathetic service i have ever come across. Better is MTNL.

                                they are seriously taking people of india for a ride. My recommendation is 'PLEASE DONT EVEN CONSIDER DISH TV' Please choose wisely..

                                the customer service is the biggest crap...every time i call they...get a standard response...your complaint has been forwarded...please wait for 2 hours...

                                This is Raja Alagappan here and my VC # [protected]. I have been tolerating Dish TV services for the past 3 yrs now.

                                Initially to start with i found the customer service was worst, but believed that things could change as the days progress. But to my surprise i noticed till today the customer service hasn't gone up its going down and now its even more worse.

                                Waste of calling customer care and placing our request. Which is never getting addressed at all..

                                I request the management of dish TV instead of spending in setting up a customer service center they can better invest this huge amount in different form.

                                One of the Bull services i had ever experienced in my life.. Now a days even government sector is providing better services..

                                When it comes to the up gradation and downgrade of package customers are not been educated abt the latest happenings the hidden charges..

                                In my case during Dec'09 my due date was 27th Dec'09 i was under platinum connection during that time and i had the down grade to gold pack.

                                I made the payment on 30th Dec'09 for Rs 217 and then my due date was shown as 20th Jan'10.

                                I had raised a query by calling the customer care with complaint id # 32611625.

                                They said "It was wrongly deducted and will get get back with the correct expiry". You can check this entire conversation, if required it can been even audited. I very clearly said "Bozz until you work on the expiry date" and confirm me back i will not make the payment..

                                Now today my line got de activated when i call customer care they said the deduction is properly done, and the given expiry date is correct.
                                They said "Rs 20 has been deducted against grace period and Rs 40 has been charged against down grade" this down grade hidden charge has not been communicated either by the dealer when i made the payment nor by the customer care officer to whom i had this complaint # 32611625 launched.. now during the today call you customer care agent told this type communication is not hidden it is clearly described, i asked her to point the same in the website, she was not able to do so as this communication was not updated in the website as on today..

                                This is totally in efficiency on your part and don't expect to make fool o[censored]s and waste our time and money..

                                These type of issues which is not taken care goes unnoticed by the top management and really makes us frustrated..

                                I am sorry to say this.. Will not recommend DISH TV any more to my friends or Neighbour.. Will try migrating the people using the same services to different vendor who gives prompt services..

                                This might look like an essay to you.. don't even mind whether any one from your end reads through this..

                                The above will definitely help me posting BLOG in the internet..

Afer only one month They started giving me SMS stating my recharge has exchausted and asking me to recharge. I contacted customer care for this, they told that this is a technical problem and will be shorted out soon. but insteed of this they disconneted my connection on 18/12/10. Since then I have been harrashed so much by your staff that is beyond imagination. Till today I could not get a single call on your Tall Free No.Ihave been calling several times but my problem is not addressed despite of several promises by your staff.                                 I have series of complaint No, within 24 hrs they are closing the TKT witout solving the problem, saying that our technical department has closed the complaint. Since last one month we have problem 'not getting full channels'. I am fully agreed that it's Fraud business practices!' There is no closed loop system, they did not ask about compaint, but they very well no that How to closed the complaint without confirmation...This is time to closed the connection now.

Engineer calls and gives some false excuses like he couldnt find the address, Security didn't allow him to come inside etc etc. I am not now frustrated with it. I called the customer care now to check the process of cancellation and refund and they also didn't give me proper solution.
                                Since 4 days they have been fooling me that we are working on it and it will be done.

                                For last 7 year, I am Dish TV customer. My original VC no. Is [protected]. On 13th July, I faced a issue of error-402, which I believe
                                related to VC card cleaning but still I had given a call to Customer Care for which One technician was arranged. This technician visited and
                                then my problem is just lingering.
                                13th July - Error - 402, Called up CC and Technician was arranged.Technician visited my place at 1:00 P.M. but he did something then error was 301. Then again he did something due to which VC card was unpaired. Then he told me to replace LNB and Dish antenna. Then I said that both are replaced last year. Then his answer was to replace VC card and Set top box. For which I said yes.
                                7:00 P.M. - Set top box replaced with New VC ([protected]) and ST box and I was told that it would be activated after 3 Hrs. Which didn't
                                happend.10:30 P.M. - I called up CC and I was told that I have to wait 24 Hrs. But after 26 Hrs, I got the signal and the error 301.
                                14th July: I called up CC and they registered a complaint No.
                                13812048. Post this I receive one SMS from DISH that next day some one
                                would be visiting may place.

                                Still it continues.

                                  i jaspal singh have multi connection v c no. [protected] and [protected] wants to chang both connections induvisual
                                  I Manish Gupta from Jaipur took dish tv two and half years ago and took new connections just three months ago. I was told that I can have it changed under multi connections and it will cost me less... but now dish tv is refusing to convert my connections under multi connections. This is really disappointing and they really do not care about their long term customers... now i do not have any other option to leave Dish TV.. really bad...

                                      sir,
                                      This is to bring into your knowledge that i recharged my dish tv from Rs 1800 Recharge free voucher for one parent and one child connection. I was told that all channels under Platinum will be applied into Parent and child connection excluding free ala-carte channels which is only for parent connection.

                                      But i am not getting many channels as promised on the child connection which are with the platinum pack.

                                      so please get my all my money back which i have given to the company till now.

                                      they have harassed me like none other, and wants a full claim for this mental tension and time wastage.

                                        I am quite appalled at the empowerment of their customer service department. Seems like the person handling the call has very little authority. They at the best can take down your complaint but cannot empathize or put you in touch with their supervisors. It leaves the customer frustrated and fuming.

                                        I had two incidents. In the first one, I spent nearly three months trying to chase my settop box that was picked up for repair but never returned to me. After lodging a total of 5 complaints and spending several hours with the customer service, I finally got a call from their regional customer service head who got me a replacement box. The replacement box was an old model that worked but now the remote did not work with it. I was not ready to fight another battle. It is easier to walk up to the settop box every time to change the channel vs dealing with the customer service.

                                        The second incident is about the credit I am supposed to receive for the time settop box was not operational. I called the customer service. They have lodged the complaint but no result. In fact today they cancelled my subscription. The complaint number is[protected].

                                        God bless this company that runs its customer service department on activities rather than outcome.
