Poor maintenance
Dear sir/madam,
Recently I travelled to Mumbai and returned back via Train No.1014/1013. The condition of toilets in S4, S5 compartments were very pathetic and provision for charging cell phones were not in usable condition. Also in Train 1013 water was not available through out the night and informing concerned TT was not effective. Passengers were suffering due to it and it was filled only in Mantralayam and again to the dismay it lasted for only about 4 hours. It is high time that the Railway authoroities look into the matter and help the passengers by maintaining the existing facilities.

Sir,
I am Janani Gopalan, doing my mtech in anna university, chennai. I was travelling by suburban train yesterday (17.08.2010) when my wallet got stolen in the train. I got down from the train at Guindy and saw that in the crowded train, someone had picked the wallet from my bag. The wallet had Rs.400 cash, a 4GB pen drive and my railway pass with railway ID card. I request you to file a complaint and do the needful.

Dear Sir,
On dated 02.08.10 i went allahabad by train and return by seemanchal express at evening time 17.40 PM one TTE Mr. Pramod kumar catch me at other platform and said where is your ticket, when i shown my ticket to him he said this is wrong you are coming by other train and he taken me his office and miss behave to me and unneccessary give me penalty of 300 rs. due to his personal problem .
when i went for this to write complaint at help deptt., they not given me to write complaint and say you can directly write letter to railway minister.
Please take necessary action about miss behave by TTE Mr. pramod kumar.

Sub : Complaint Against R.P.F Jawan And Also R.T.I About Platform Ticket.
Dear Sir.
I went to Hazrat Nizammudin Railway Station (Delhi) on 15.07.10 to receive some glass ware goods which were coming from Vadodra (Gujarat) in Gujarat Sampark Kranti Train in Private cargo(Lease) boggie. The train arrived at around 10:40 am on the Platform No.6 As the goods were fragile in nature And have every possibility to get broken if they were not properly unloaded from the train by the labours.
Therefore I personally went there to stand there. I have the Platform ticket with me. Suddenly an R.P.F jawan sir named Chaturvedi arrived as people were calling Him Panditji. He asked me why you are standing here. I told him that some glass ware items have come in this boogie and I have come to take delivery of the goods after listening this he got annoyed. He said that you are not allowed to enter the railway platform despite of having Platform Ticket. I requested Him to Allow me to stand their otherwise labourers will throw the glass ware boxes, but he didn’t listen to me and started asking me for the Bribe I said that I am leaving the Platform and I refused to offer him bribe.
When I refused to offer him the money he Started Misbehaving with me He started Abusing me and also Slapped me and in between my spectacles were also broke down he said that I will send you to the Railway lockup jail. I Pleaded against him and told him that I am an Asthma patient and please leave me after listening this he once again got angry and once again started abusing me and started hitting me and forcefully extorted Rs.200 from me and set me free from his custody.
My Question Is In R.T.I whether a person Having A Platform Ticket Cannot be Allowed At Platform, when others are allowed and an R.P.F Jawan Having the right (Power) to Misbehave with the Passenger And Beat them unnecessarily and also in which case a passenger having the platform ticket cannot be allowed at Platform also what action can be taken against the jawan who is misusing his power.
I Hope You will take Some Serious strict Administrative Steps Against the corrupt R.P.F jawan Sir Named ‘’Chaturvedi’’ who was on duty on 15.07.10 and misusing his power on common man and earning extra income in terms of extorting money by showing his power.and also send me the reply against My R.T.I.
Your Speedy Action against My Complaint will be highly appreciated.

I was travelling along with my two monk friends from Kharagpur to Delhi by Purusottam Express on 6th June 2010.
We were having confirmed ticket for Utkal Express on the same day but when we reached Kharagpur station we found Utkal Express is cancelled because of Gyaneshwari Express collision.
Immediately we cancelled our tickets and bought General tickets (No. C[protected] for Purusottam Express. We approached TT (No. 441178) to upgrade our general ticket to sleeper class.
He asked Rs. 500 hundred for each person means Rs. 1500 and also we paid for General Tickets is Rs.673. That means grant total we paid Rs.2173 for our Journey to Delhi.
And fortunately Mr. TT (No.441178) gave us reservation seats (S-10/69,70,72) because seats were available but gave bill only for Rs.520. and Rs.980 went to his pocket.
We requested that please give us bill for Rs.1500 otherwise give us back the Rs. 980.
He became angry to us and ignored us like dogs. We approached TT contactor, he suggested to make complain to New Delhi Station.
Next day we reached in New Delhi and found the head of the station and we explained everything to him.
After hearing Mr. Boss asked pay Rs.1000 to write complain here…
What is this everyone is thief here?
We are monk from some international spiritual society, and Indian TT dealing with Sadhu such a horrible way then what to speak of dealing with general populace.
Thus my humble request to your management to take a necessary step and please make feel everyone happy journey with Indian Railways.

this is to bring to your notice that ticket agent in falna does not allow others to book tickets. even the railway staff who book tickets are involved in this. they take bribe from agents and book tickets. some times agents himself enter the booking office and himself book tickets.
sometimes they keep a note on window that computer out of order. and when agents come he removes that board and book tickets.
this happens mostly during season times
this agents have their offices outside railway station and also have canteen on station. they book tickets in advance on others name and charge double of money. they do dadagiri at the counter and does allow others to book tickets.
ticket babus take money from agents and book their tickets.
to book tatkal tickets on these station during season is out of the question.
so kindly look in this matter as soon as possible as this is the peak season. and help to serve railway better

e-Reservation was done to travel from Mumbai CST to SainagarSiridi by Jansatabdi Spl. Exp. Train No.0137 on[protected]. (for 6 persons amounting Rs.672/- ). PNR No.[protected], Transaction ID.[protected]
On[protected] I reached the CST station with my family members for the above train. The Rly.Enquiry persons are informed that the above train was cancelled. I suffered a lot to travel another train for reaching the destination.
The next day I informed to my travel agent to put the tickets for cancellation. In reply he told that when he attempt to cancellation the message was displayed that "Journey already completed".
As the train was cancelled by the Rly.authorities before my journey but the msg.was shown that journey alrady complted, how it is possible.
Hence i request you to kindly look into the matter and arrange to refund the amount (Rs.672/-)into my agent a/c.at the earliest.

With due respects, I would like to bring to your notice the mental and physical harassment me and my 60-year-old mother had to face due to unprofessional attitude of the Northern Railways.
I had reserved two berths in Coach D-9 (berth numbers xxx) in Shane Express from Nizzamudin to Amritsar but upon reaching the New Delhi station we came to know that the train does not have the said coach. It was chaos at the station and we could not even find the Ticket Checker to register our complaint.
It’s not only me and my aged mother but other fellow passengers, who had reserved their berths in the same coach, had to travel in the general compartment. The mobile numbers of the passengers, who suffered similar fate, has been given below for your reference.

The entire journey was no less than a trauma for my mother and I would like to seek not only the refund for our tickets but also a compensation for our sufferings.
I hope you would look into the matter and award us the compensation.

We were travelling with our family from coimbatore to thirussur on 9th April by Guwati Trivandrum Express.
We hav booked in sleeper class.To our surprise sleeper class was like unreserved compartment.people with general tickets were sitting whereever they like.This was the worst experience.moreover some were so rude that when we were not in seat for 5 min,they occupied our space.we had to force them to get up.
So with reserved tickets we travelled like unreserved people.The funniest thing was in travel from coimbatore to Thrissur we dt nt see any TTR to check the tickets.Please take necessary actions for these type of incidents.

OPERATION OF MMTS TRAINS
I would like to bring to your kind notice that I am regularly commuting in MMTS train starting from Falaknuma to Lingampally since two years along with my colleagues and other employees of different software companies located at Hitechcity. During recent period there has been exorbitant increase in passengers traveling in these route, we find very difficult to board the train at Secunderabad and also due to sudden reduction of number of bogies from NINE TO SIX, where as the NAMPALLY TO LINGAMPALLY route, the bogies have increased to NINE FROM SIX. Since the the route of Falaknuma to Lingampally is longest compared to Nampally to Lingampally, we request you to operate NINE bogies atleast during peak hours ie morning three and evening three trips and also increase the frequency of trains by adding DHMU. We expect a favourable and immediate action in this regard.

I regret to inform you that your KHAIRATABAD Railway Station MMTS ticket counter staff are hopeless and worse to issue tickets.. always issuing delay ...most of the passengers were not taking tickets due to neglegance of ticket issueance.. Also note that today morning i renewed my monthly pass @ 550/- train-cum-bus pass ... due date is today i suppose to renew tomorrow monrning but advance i renewed but that gentlemen those who issuing tickets at Khairatabad Railway Station he renewed today onwards instead tomorrow, when i requested also not listening... such a lousy service...we are requesting to do tomorrow but no listening and may be not aware of this subject... I request the concerned authorities to do the frequent checks during the peak hours in the morning as well as in the evening hrs.

This happens everyday. Please take some action on this.
I am regular commuter of mmts train since 2004. Trains running in the morning timings can provide 1 more train from lingampally 7.45 am or 8 . Please do needful. We are very much late to office

Sir,
I being a bi-monthly passenger from Kasaragod (kerala) to Kollam in the sleeper coach of Maveli express( Train no 6603 ) forced to lodge this complaint due
to the inconvenience faced by me.
Nowadays huge number of waitlisted passengers are allowed to enter into sleeper coaches even during the night time.They creates lot of difficulties to the passengers travelling in reserved berths. TTE allows waitlisted passengers to stay in sleeper coaches at night without any hesitation.
I humbly request you to make necessary steps to avoid over accomodation in sleeper coaches.

Train Left Before Time
My confirm Ticket from Khandawa to Secunderabad. Dated[protected] by Train No: 0779A PNR No:[protected] acutal depature Time from Khandawa at 20.10.
But the train left the station at 19.15 ( before time ). The Station Manager asked us to go to next station Nepa Nagar where the train was stopped. We where around 30 passangers. The SS on duty did not want to get into problem, so cleverly he got us into the Goods train going on the same route, saying the train 0779A is waiting at the next station, by the time we reached the said station the SS said it has already left to the next station and we where forced to proceed in Goods train till Raver. There the DY.S.S. asked us to get down from the goods train since the train was not going to Bhusaval, and asked us to board the coming train Punjab Mail 2138up, till Bhusaval, and said that being a junction the train is holded there, when we reached Bhusaval no Railway officer was ready to take any kind of responsibility. The Journey from Khandawa to Bhusawal was like a hell, since iwas travelling with my spouse and a 7 year old kid. The entire Railway system is 3rd grade. I do not know how i will get my refund back, and how to sue the Railways and the Officers involved in this issue. How can a train leave the Station 45 minutes before time leaving the passangers ? Can some one guide or inform the right mail id: where i can lodge the complaint against this Railway officers and there working system.

request for starting churchgate-dahanu local trains at the earliest
Respected Sir,
I am a student of engineering, which is located in Boisar(Theem college of Engineering). I live in Dadar and most of the students of our college come from Mumbai side. One of my classmates comes from Dombivali. So, we students have to spend 5 to 6 hours in travelling itself. Also there are no sufficient autorickshaws in Boisar, so as to reach the station(there are totel 240 students presently but after July 2010 more 240 students will join the college. So there will be more autorickshaw problem). Sometimes, when we reach the station, we are one to two minutes late and the train is gone. There is so much interval of time between the arrival of trains (going towards Mumbai) at Boisar station. After one train is gone, the other train comes 1 hour after the previous train. Hence we do not get much time for study. Till we reach home, it is already 8 pm.
The names of the trains (going towards Mumbai from Boisar station) and their timings are as follows :-
1) Virar shuttle ----> 3:18 pm
2) Saurashtra express ----> 4:28 pm
3) Firozpur express ----> 5:40 pm
4) Bandra intercity express ----> 6:22 pm
(Our college usually ends at 5 pm, but sometimes they even leave us at 3pm or 4 pm)
So, please Sir, it is my humble request to increse the number of trains between 3 to 6 pm at Boisar station OR start the Churchgate- Dahanu Local trains as soon as possible OR increase number of Memu locals. Please, this is affecting our studies, this message is from all the students

Dahanu-Churchategate Local trains were about to start at June-2010, but once again the date is postponed...so many times in last 7-8 years the date was declared and posponed...( ha.. this is india !!! ) and all bloody, corrupted minister of all parites are resposible for this...

platform ticket--dadar
The current ticket issue counters at Dadar east for platforms 7 and 8 are manned mostly by 2 persons only. There is no way to get platform ticket easily in the evenings. One has to wait for 20 minutes. While going to the platform 7 or 8 at night 9 pm there is no person --ticket checker . But while coming out, promptly 6 persons are there for ticket verification though there is train arrival in platform 7 or 8 at that time --9.30 p.m. or 9.40 p.m. many times one gets doubt as to whether tickets are issued with delay prompting people to go without platform ticket so that they can be caught.

Penalty for a valid ticket
Dear Sirs,
My wife and 2 children travelled to Thanjavur from Coimbatore on 24.12.2009.
The ticket was booked by me online PNR no. [protected] and it is a confirmed Tatkal ticket.During journey the ticket was verified by a TTE who has not raised any objection on showing the photo copy of my wife's PAN card as ID.
But at the destination Thanjavur a ticket collector has cross verified and did not allow them to go.
He behaved arrogantly and without even considering that the passenger is a woman with kids,he adamantly demanded a fine of Rs.1031/.My wife and kids were left out after being harassed for nearly an hour and paying the penalty.
It is ridiculous to ask for the original ID proof only from passengers holding online booked tickets.The rule has to be amended to accept photocopies or generalise the ID rule for booking at counters also.
How can a valid ticket holder be penalised just for not having original ID proof ?Is it not a violation of customer rights?
While the Railway is promoting reservations through internet,what is the necessity to harass the passengers just by having an ID proof rule?

Not able to receive the Delivery of Parcel

I, Sandeep, make a humble submission that I booked a parcel contain Bike, Fridge and House Hold Items items at Kota Jn railway station Rajasthan to be delivered at Visakhapatnam junction AP on Dec04 2009, wide Builty no.09C 613645 . But till date the parcel is not delivered to me. I have repeatedly contacting the Station Authority at Visakhapatnam junction but they are saying that the parcel in question has not been received.
I am living 20 KM far from the railway station and it is difficult for me to travel to railway station daily. I had asked several times for there numbers where I could do the inquiry of my parcel. But they all are not willingly to help.

Lack of communication on delay in Train
Dear Sir/Madam,
I've booked tickets from Bangalore to Tiruppur in1013 Kurla-Coimbatore Express to board on[protected] scheduled at 10.15pm from Cantonment Station. When I entered the station at 9.30pm, the sign board said that the train is "indefinitely late," means no one in this world knows where the train is and how much time it will or it may take to reach Bangalore. We waited for more than 2 hours and still the same display and same answer from the reservation clerk. I went up to the station master and he said the train is expected (again may or may not) come only in the morning at around 5am. We came back home in the midnight at 12.30am....and trainenquiry.com gives no real time information. It says the train is expected to arrive (ETA) at 5.30 am and expected to depat (ETD) at 4.35am. Wow only Indian Railways can go back in time, may be they have a special time machine.
Yes, we very well understood that train getting late due flood and various reasons is inevitable. But ultimately the information should be accordingly given out to the poor passengers who had booked tickets 90days in advance. This is a highly irresponsible and careless attitude of oue railways should change. In this era of realtime data communication, why not the railways could pass on the information available to the public smartly. Atleast take some effort to exchange information within themselves. Indian Railways — Irresponsibility of Indian Railways(lack of communication)
I have booked my ticket with PNR number #[protected] on 21st of last month for the Train Number#8048 from KURNOOL(KRNT) to KACHEGUDA(KCG), Journey date will be on 05/10/2009 and my seat numbers are S10:41,42 and 45But unfortunately, This train has not come on 05 oct 2009 to kurnool.
And I heard that for this train 8048 there is no route via kurnool and they will attach the coach(Usually S10) which should go hyderabad to another train#7604 in Dhone Junction.
We have waited to catch that train in Kurnool, but unfortunately that coach(S10) not attached in Dhone Junction.
Now what my question is how will issue the ticket with the train 8048 to kurnool passengers and attach that coach to another train without any intimation to passangers.If that is official thing why did not attach the coach this time.
I want to know what is your process on this, if there is a mistake from your side do I need to go to consumer forum to claim this or if the train has not come on that perticular day why did not you refund my money till now. Is there any process to get my money back.
We have faced so much problem on that day with my family and children.
Need your quick responce for this.
In addition to Mr.Siva's address towards lack of responsiveness by IR, even myself was about to board from Bangalore station on Oct-15-2009 by 3:25pm (as per schedule) but delayed as per IR's comments " Indefinite delay by 10hrs". In spite of waiting for an hour or so & then the management decided to put up a message board & message running across the so called automated digital board stating that " Indefinite delay by 10hrs". While inquiring at the Counter the fellow associate of IR is totally blank on what he does nor what information he has received from the management. With respect we want to say We applicants Kumar & Karan Singh working in
Department of Atomic Energy, RRCAT, Indore as a capacity of Scientific
officers( A1 Class Gazetted Officer)
We had gone to Howrah on government duty for some departmental work.
For Returning of journey, We have booked the train ticket from Howrah to
Indore Via Bilaspur, Bhopal by two part with two different trains. Both
are linked at Bilaspur according to time table: 1)- Howrah to Bilaspur
on dated 02/10/2009 by the Train No. 2441, PNR No.[protected]. It’s
arrival time at Bilaspur is 08:10 Hrs. 2)- Bilaspur to Indore Via Bhopal
on dated 03/10/2009 by the train No.8234 having PNR No.: [protected].
Its departure time at Bilaspur is 09:50 Hrs.
We had started returning journey on 02/10/2009 from Howrah by train
2441(Howrah to New Delhi Rajdhani Exp. Via Bilaspur) in Coach no. A1
Birth No. 35&36. During the journey some unsocial elements (naxal) had
damaged the railway track. Due to this reason, this train got late by 6
hours. On account of this our next train left the station 6 hour before
our arrival at Bilaspur station. In this emergency we have been accepted
to railway to extend our ticket till Bhopal in 2441 rajdhani express. We
have search the present availability in train. There are some seats
vacant due to absence of some passengers. We have met on duty train T.T.
(Coach – A1 in charge) and requested him to extend our ticket till Bhopal
at Raigarh & Champa station. First, He said I would travelled all of you
till Bhopal. Inspite of this he has asked us to give him AC III Class
fare without demanding any receipt & told us to travel in IInd AC. We
told him to make AC II class receipt we will pay all ticket fare till
Bhopal as per norms. After demanding receipt he denied to extend our
ticket & started misbehaving with us and get down us from train at
Bilaspur because we had not provided him bribe. We are also request to
Bilaspur station incharge to allow us this route another train to travel
till Bhopal. He has also refused our request.
Therefore, we request you to kindly do needful to prevent train T.T.
bribery and search the data how many absented passengers reported by
on duty train T.T. 2441 rajdhani express on 03.10.2009.

INCREASE THE NUMBER OF LOCAL TRAINS FROM BHIWANDI TO MUMBAI
Respected sir,
I am a resident of BHIWANDI travellingMUMBAI yr 2001 for studies and job. There a great change in the scenario of people travelling from bhiwandi to mumbai from those days. The numer of people travelling to and fro has greatly increased. And since State transport Buses were only option the crowding of people in buses has become uncontrollable, leading to to many mishaps.
With the start of new trains from Diva to Vasai there could be sigh of relief but has not brought the dramatic change in load on buses as there is only 1 train in morning peak hours at 8 am for diva. 1 train in afternoon and 1 train in evening. There is a urgent need to increase th number of trains from Bhiwandi.
So, pls kindly consider my request to increase the nuber of trains From BHIWANDI which will be help full to increase the full manpower of BHIWANDI will be use full in DEVELOPMENT of BHIWANDI.

This is for your kind information that now a days you are operating 880 UP Dharmanagar - Agartala local in between 11 am to 1.35 pm approximately from Dharmanagar. However it will be more profitable for rail-way department if you run the train in 3 pm to 3.30 pm. However, if this is not possible for you please give another train from Dharmanagar to Agartala in 3 pm to 3.30 pm.

Train Raat 11 baje kareeb aai counter band ho jane ke karan meri ticket wapas nahi ho pai. subah counter khulne par computer ticket ko cancell nahi kar raha tha. isliye mujhe TDR bana kar diya gaya. Jiska fair aaj tak mujhe wapas nahi mila he. Mujhe bataya gaya tha ki 3 month ke andar apke Paise wapas ho jayenge. Lekin aaj bhi jub hum station par jaate he to hume is bare me kuch nahi batay jaata he, humare paise kab tuk wapas milenge.

Me 30-04-09 ko 8477 Kaling Utcal EXP se Kharsia se H Nizamudin Ja raha tha kintu us Train ka AC kam nahi kar raha tha meri Ticket 2AC me thi . mene TT ke dwara complain kari jo ki Zhansi Jone me darj hui mujhe is sambandh me ek letter 21-07-09 ko mila ki hum is sambandh me Bhubneswar Railway Mahaprabandhak(ECO) se sampark kare. unhe bhi humne ek letter ke madhyam se sampark kiya kintu unka koi jawab nahi aaya. aur jaankari mangne par station se hume koi jaankari prapt nahi hoti he ki hume huamra paisa kab tak wapas milega.

Subject: Dadagiri/Gundagardi, misbehavior and threatening by Running Staffs - Mr Mohan Prasad (CTI) and a TTE (without name plate) in Bihar Sampark Kranti Train
With due respect we would like to bring to your notice that we were traveling by Train No. 2565 (Bihar Sampark Kranti) dated[protected] Chhapara to New Delhi as per the below tickets detail: -
1. Self and Wife: PNR No. –[protected] Coach No. S3 Berth No. 49-50 (as per chart 55 and 56) Ticket No. 98303127
2. Daughter: PNR No. –[protected] Coach No. S3 Berth No. 38 (as per chart 42) Ticket No. 98303133
Above tickets were bought at Railway Reservation Counter, Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi
Madam, when we reached Goarkhpur station, a TTE (without name plate) came with a passenger (without reserve ticket) and told him that this is the seat, which I allotted to you, which was reserved for my daughter (PNR No.[protected]. When I presented my daughter’s ticket to TTE to claim the reservation, he refused it saying, “This is not the valid ticket, railway had issued it by mistake. It has been cancelled now by railway because as per rule separate ticket cannot be issued to a minor female child even she is traveling with parents. So you cannot use this berth. Do not argue with me otherwise I’ll issue you a penalty challan and you have to pay it.”
When we refused to vacate the seat/berth, the TTE started shouting / abusing and threatening to us. Other passengers, who were traveling in the same compartment also protested but the TTE refused to listen anything and finally that seat/berth had been given to new passenger by force. Later the new passenger confessed that he paid Rs 500/- as bribe for this berth/seat to TTE.
Later, I informed about this matter to Shri Mohan Prasad (CTI) and requested him to provide me the Complaint Book so that I can register the complaint. But he refused to give us the complaint book and told me keep quite now. When I repeated the request, he threatened me and said “If you will again ask for complaint book, I will throw you out of the running train.” Further added, “If you want to make complaint, go to Delhi and complaint to Mamata Banerjee (Railway Minister) or any higher authority of Railway Board, no body will do anything.”
As per above facts and given reasons (to cancel the ticket) from TTE during arguments, I would like to ask a few given below questions:
1. Was he really TTE (without name plate) or somebody else (may be a gunda)?
2. If he was really TTE then why was he without nameplate?
3. Till Gorakhpur, not a single TTE came to check the tickets, shouldn’t any TTE come?
4. Is the ticket really cancelled by railway due to separate ticket to minor female child?
a. If yes, than why Sarojini Nagar Railway Reservation counter, New Delhi issued me such ticket? And if cancelled the railways due to above said rule, why not informed me in advance?

c. If there is really such rule than as per the fact that she was traveling with us in same coach, so does it applicable and can the railway cancel the ticket without information in advance and allot the berth/seat to others?
Madam, we strongly regret to state that the running train staff either not aware of the railway rules & regulation or they simply made us fool and sold the berth to others at high cost. When people resisted, they simply start gundagardi with passengers.
Due to above harassment, we three person adjusted on two berths and spent sleepless night even after buying reserved ticket from railway counter.
We therefore request you to kindly look into the matter & take action against the above-mentioned Train Running Staffs under intimation to us so that this kind of deal is not repeated again and travelers can journey in train without harassment.

Subject: Dadagiri/Gundagardi, misbehavior and threatening by Running Staffs - Mr Mohan Prasad (CTI) and a TTE (without name plate) in Bihar Sampark Kranti Train
With due respect we would like to bring to your notice that we were traveling by Train No. 2565 (Bihar Sampark Kranti) dated[protected] Chhapara to New Delhi as per the below tickets detail: -
1. Self and Wife: PNR No. –[protected] Coach No. S3 Berth No. 49-50 (as per chart 55 and 56) Ticket No. 98303127
2. Daughter: PNR No. –[protected] Coach No. S3 Berth No. 38 (as per chart 42) Ticket No. 98303133
Above tickets were bought at Railway Reservation Counter, Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi
Madam, when we reached Goarkhpur station, a TTE (without name plate) came with a passenger (without reserve ticket) and told him that this is the seat, which I allotted to you, which was reserved for my daughter (PNR No.[protected]. When I presented my daughter’s ticket to TTE to claim the reservation, he refused it saying, “This is not the valid ticket, railway had issued it by mistake. It has been cancelled now by railway because as per rule separate ticket cannot be issued to a minor female child even she is traveling with parents. So you cannot use this berth. Do not argue with me otherwise I’ll issue you a penalty challan and you have to pay it.”
When we refused to vacate the seat/berth, the TTE started shouting / abusing and threatening to us. Other passengers, who were traveling in the same compartment also protested but the TTE refused to listen anything and finally that seat/berth had been given to new passenger by force. Later the new passenger confessed that he paid Rs 500/- as bribe for this berth/seat to TTE.
Later, I informed about this matter to Shri Mohan Prasad (CTI) and requested him to provide me the Complaint Book so that I can register the complaint. But he refused to give us the complaint book and told me keep quite now. When I repeated the request, he threatened me and said “If you will again ask for complaint book, I will throw you out of the running train.” Further added, “If you want to make complaint, go to Delhi and complaint to Mamata Banerjee (Railway Minister) or any higher authority of Railway Board, no body will do anything.”
As per above facts and given reasons (to cancel the ticket) from TTE during arguments, I would like to ask a few given below questions:
1. Was he really TTE (without name plate) or somebody else (may be a gunda)?
2. If he was really TTE then why was he without nameplate?
3. Till Gorakhpur, not a single TTE came to check the tickets, shouldn’t any TTE come?
4. Is the ticket really cancelled by railway due to separate ticket to minor female child?

Duplicate Ticket NOT Issued
Duplicate ticket on free warrant
I had obtained a free warrant return ticket from secunderabad to kolhapur and back. while i was to return from kolhapur the ticket( PNR No [protected]) somehow got misplaced. I apprised the chief reservation supervisor at kolhapur railway station on 28 Apr 09, date of journey being 01 May 09. The reservation was confirmed in Haripriya Express, AC2 for berth Nos 42, 44, 46. I also produced my identity card to assure that it was my name. At first, the supervisor, Mr Padale advised me to give an application requesting for a duplicate ticket. when i submitted the application i was informed that a duplicate ticket cannot be issued against a free warrant ticket. I requested the chief ticket supervisor to give the same in writing which he again refused. On persuation he endorsed " duplicate ticket cannot be issued on prebought ticket", on the application and returned it to me. the chief reservation supervisor failed to provide me a duplicate ticket for travelling. i was travelling with my wife and five year old son, therefore it was not possible to travel without resevation. As a interim measure, i purchased tatkal sleeper class ticket bearing pnr No.[protected] for Rs 1308/- and boarded the train. The ticket examiner on train informed me that as per rule i should have been provided a duplicate ticket at 25% charge of the total AC2 fare. But since the same was not done he charged me full fare of AC2 Rs 3728/- and took the balance amount after deducting the sleeper class ticket fare i.e Rs 2420/-. My complaints are :-
1. being a first class gazzetted offr i had to face lot of embarrasment at the hands of supervisors and examiner leave besides the inconvenience caused,
2. railways have been benefitted both ways. i.e. by being credited fullfare amount against free warrant as also by charging the same to me.
3. there must be a provision for providing duplicate tickets against loss of free warrant tickets
4. the amount charged to me should be refunded after deducting 25 % of charges

Cheating by ITARSI (M.P.) Station Canteen Boys
Dear Sir,
I was travelling in Habibganj Exp. (From Habibganj to Kalyan Train No. 2154 Dt.01-05-09 PNR[protected]. I had ordered food to Pantry Car Waiter nearby Hoshangabad station. But at Itarsi Station 4-5 Boys wearing railway waiter uniforms (same as pantry waiters - Navy Blue Checks shirt) and said they are from pantry and are serving food.
They served food in Thermocol Plates. After giving food they asked for Rs.70, I had no change so I tendered Rs.500 note, the boy said he will just exchange and will be back, but within 2-3 minutes all of them disappeared from non - platform side and ran from the tracks to Platform no.1. I came down from the Platform side and caught one of the same looking boy with same uniform, he told me that they are from station canteen, and this is their regular practise. When I threatened him of police he guided me that the canteen owner on platform no.1 is goonda and if you want money back you have to bring couple of hawaldars to canteen.
I ran to GRP and RPF standing on the platform but started saying me that you are fooled and we can't do any thing, it looked this all was working as regular and they being part of the same process. I even met station master/mamager (I think Mr. Sharma / the obese fat man) he told train is leaving now you can give complaint to TTE.
I met the TTE, Mr. Kuldeep K. Sharma C.T.I., Habibganj. He co-operated and gave complaint book.
I came to know from fellow passengers and pantry car boys, these things regularly happen on ITARSI station, unofficially Station canteen boys use Railway Waiter uniforms and pretend to be from pantry car and often serve low quality food to customers and misbehave with them and charge them high charges.
Kindly take swift action on such criminal minded boys and the canteen owners who provoked such crimes.

Non Refund of Waitlisted ticket
I would like to bring to notice that I had a waitlisted ticket to New Delhi from Kanpur on 16 March 2009 in 2A Patna Rajdhani (Train No.2309)(PNR No.:[protected].The train time at kanpur station was 2.35 am. Finally the ticket was not confirmed and I took Shram sakti exp. from Kanpur to New Delhi on 15 March 2009 at 23:35 hrs. I had to come as I had an exam on 16 March 09 at my university.
After I reached New Delhi on morning of 16 March 09, I approached my nearest rail reservation centre at JNU campus, New Delhi at 10.10 am to cancel the ticket. But the staff at the centre denied cancellation.They argued that i can only cancel the ticket from Kanpur.
I am very disappointed at this behaviour of the staff. Moreover no where in the website there is any mention of such a rule.

No Clock Room in Itarsi
Dear Sir,
It is Noticed that there is no clock room for keeping the Luggage n any platform of Itarsi. When it is enquired with the Deputy Station master it is found that the clock room is arranged in parcel office of Itarsi with is almost 800meters to one KM from platform-1 and almost 1.4KM from platform-5 and also dont have proper way to that parcel office. Hope that the Clock room will be arranged on any platform inside the Station.
