HI,

from last three years i have been very bitter exp with Citi Bank India. recently it has closed my bank account without giving me any information. This account was my salary account. Due to this my ECS is getting bounced. i have faced lots of problem due to their irresponsible behaviour towards customer.

I will advise all customer not to open any kind account with Citi Bank india

I must say citi bank has the worst service possible!!!
none of my issues have been addresed till date!
I have a suvidha bank account, i tried to make a purchase using the same but the card did not work in the shop...so i made the payment using another card of mine.latter on i checked and realised that the amount had been deducted from my citi bank account!!!
I have registered complaints a number of times but none was adressed!
I still have not recieved my cash back...
I have no clue where the same has gone as the mall where i made my purchase made me clear that the money was not recieved in their system, but i hv till date got no response with citibank.
Most horrible service provider!
Customer care service is horrible...
it seemz all dumd fellows are handlening the customer service!!!
it is a slaried account...else i will suggest evry one to saty away from this bank!

    DEAR ALL,
    i am using citibank shoppers stop credit card for last 8 months. which i rarely use for purchase or other transactions. recently i found that my bill is Rs. 50000 in may 2008. i hvn't used my card anywhere & all transactions made to BHARATI AIRTEL, RELIANCE INFOCOM. i dont hv any post paid connection of mobile, landline phone. i hv registered complaint to POLICE STATION. copy of FIR sent to citibank chennai ofice. the card is still in my possession. i have also called up AIRTEL CALL CENTRE but no use. they can't trace these transactions. CITIBANK officers say these are the secured transaction made on internet. but i dont share my card info wiht any1.

    if anybody here is facing same problem then plz suggest me solution. i am worried abt this.

    Hello Tanisha iam also the victim of same kind of fraud that has been taken place on my Citibank Credit Card and also its same kind of payment towards BHARTI CELLULAR LIMITED and RELIANCE INFOCOM. Total fraud done on my card is Rs.45000. Bank has also told me that its a secured transactions. I told the bank that iam not going to make any payment of these transactions and i will make a police complaint on this.     I am facing the same problem. My Citibank card was debited with 2 payments of Rs 25000.00 each to M/s Bharti Airtel Ltd (MCHEK).

    I have put it up with Citibank in a customer decleration form. But am a little wary, after reading your story, that they will do anything. Lets see

      Hello,

      I am Ravi Kiran J, I have the salary account in Citibank and a Credit Card, I have been billed for a transaction that I havent done as per my consiousness.

      I have been billed 2 times instantly, each 650/- and unnoticingly I paid for them and after a month, I noticed the same in the transcation log.

      Since then I keep on writing to Citibank support Online, however I always get mouth watering responses from them but yeilded nothing

      Here is the sample:

      Hello Citibank, I am sorry to notice that you people didnt even read my mail, I have asked for the softcopy of the Bill, which bears my sign, when I have signed at Anu Wines. I think, it will be my last Request, I will wait for your prompt response for the last time, if it didnt turn up to my satisfaction, I will goahead and proceed with the consumer complaint board.

      Lets all get together and ask banks to have PIN number typeid in while making a transaction in either credit or debit card. This would save thousands people from fraud transaction and thier hard earned money. Banks made the agreement in a such a way that all theprofits generated from use of the cards are their and all the liabilities for fraud iswith customer
      I fully agree to this

      In my statement i am gertting 2 entries for same reference number

      When Asked they say you must have refreshed the page

      The entries with same reference number appearing 3 times now (3 x2 = 6 entries)

      There is no way to talk on this in persons (as informed to me on telephone)

        A sales executive from Citibank contacted me to take a credit card. I applied for it an among the documents they asked me to submit a cancelled cheque. the reason for this I was told was to verify the signature. After taking the card I didnt use it for nearly 6 months as I did not need to. I was called repeatedly from their Chennai call centre to start using it.
        After I use it I have not been charge Rs. 225 for an ECS that seems to have bounced.
        Firstly, i did not authorise them to set up an ECS.
        Secondly, whenever I try to call them and am about to be transferred to a phone banking executive the calls is disconnected after one or two rings.
        Thirdly, my bank ICICI has also levied a charge on my account because the ECS seems to have bounced.

        Now when I call these companies they are both directing me towards each other saying that the other will rectify the problem.

        I have asked Citibank to remove the ECS and the charge as well as pay the charge on my bank account but they have not responded. I am very disappointed specially because they have spoiled my bank record.
        I cannot process by BPL mobile bill payment through my Master card. Earlier there was no problem and now it is giving the message as "Unsuccessful Transaction Invalid Authentication at bank".

        what is the problem? pls specify.

          Citi Bank have clear intension to cheat small investors, credit card holders and personal loan borrowers. They only tell and understand about there problems and difficulty but will never try to understand customer's view. I had a credit card of Citi Bank, and there was a difference among us for small amount of Rs 8000.00 due to the mistake of Citi bank . They have admitted the mistake over phone and mail but there correction process took around eight nonths, still bank excpects from me to make late fee and interest charges. I refused to do the same to Bank, so now Bank collection executive Mr Narendra has started new way of harassing me by continue calling from tel no[protected] on my mobile and landline phone. I am planning to approch to local Police for help.
          me to faced the same problem with Citi bank personal loan. Even though i have pre closed the Personal loan...they are asking me to repay after 5 years to again pay the remaining balance.
          This is ridiculous...i am planning to go to consumer court...i have all the proofs with me...
          I am just waiting for them to approach me and at the same time i will complain.

            Iam B.Krishan Kumar from Hyderabad. My Credit card no.[protected] from CITY BANK.
            I was used Credit Card from CITY BANK in the year 2002-04. But due to some reason i have made full and final settlement in cash for Rs. 8000/- as on 12.02.04 from Focussed Solutions Inc Somajiguda Hyderabad. I have Payment receipts and the letter from the CITY Bank.
            But still im receiving the Legal Letters from the City Bank. I was just shocked. So many times i have called to City bank Globle Office chennai. where i contacted with Ms. Aarthi and so many other employees, i have send so all the details to the Office. but still they are unable to solve the proble.

            I request you to please invlove and help me. Kindly advice me to how to solve the problem.

            Citibank — Receiving calls from CITIBank despite closure of credit card with full and final settlement

            Dear Team,

            I was holding 2 credit cards 1. [protected] & 2.[protected] and closed as full & final settlement with the following reference numbers 1. [protected] & 2. [protected], Despite that I've been receiving calls asking to make payments although the payment was done on 12-Mar-08.It is really disturbing to answer atleast once in day about the closure of the account, request to really sort out this issue at the earliest.

            City Bank Credit Card — Settelment made in 2004 but still Notices

            I have the same issue, even i have received the settlement letter and have all the e-mail exchanged for the same. I think the last resort would be to Approach the OMBUDSMAN's office at RBI.

            These dickheads will keep trying to pull some money for the rest of our lives.Now we need to pull up our socks and get the help from lawyers and know all the rights as a customer.
            I have been asked by Citibank to pay the maount for last 5 years for the transaction that I have never done. They don't have any charge slip against those transactions to sent across. And after sending the customer declaration form they told me that they will do an investigation after 5 year, they are telling me it is too late for the invetsigation and i have to pay the bill.

            For this legal latter, firstly ask with bank - sattelemrnt latter issue by bank or not ( just mail them all document and save a copy of aknowladgement ), if bank say yes, then call to Advocate with is mantion there . And tell them And show the closer document to him, if they are not agree, so tell them to file a case agest you, and when you get the date from court, you can show the document to court,
            Then can do any htink in this case .

                I have been a Citibank card member since 08/04 and not once has there been a time when I have not paid my outstanding amount. The reason for that is to maintain a clean credit record with the bank and also to maintain a relationship with this bank.

                Unfortunately I have come to the point where I regret the day I ever became a Citibank customer. I have realized that the only think Citibank does to its good customers is to harass them and extract money.

                Here is my concern:

                On May 2007, I had carried out a balance transfer of Rs 20, 000 from my Citibank credit card to another bank card by mistake. Realizing the mistake, I immediately had my parents in India put Rs 20, 000 back into my credit card account. Meanwhile I spoke to multiple customer care executives explaining the situation and in their trained fashion all they could say was "we cannot help madam, the amount you deposited will even the loan interest out automatically". Not once was I asked to pre- close the loan or any other option.Isn't it their duty to tell me this option when they knew I had the balance transfer by mistake and wanted to immediately close by paying of the amount???

                1 yr later, I am still receiving bills and now they want me to pay outstanding loan interest of Rs496 in April and now Rs 1831 for May. Looks like the Rs 20, 000 I initially put in has exhausted and Citi needs more money from me as the so called loan interest.

                Despite of being in the US, I have made multiple calls to Citibank customer care number[protected] regarding the issue. Details below

                1) Customer service exec: Krishna at 10.17pm IST on 23 or 26th May(no help whatsoever)

                2) Customer service exec: Shiva at 10.27pm IST on 27th May (took my phone number and promised that the loan department will get back to me, but phone got disconnected as usual)

                3)Customer service exec: Sreejith Babu at 10.37 pm IST on 27th May (Reconfirmed that loan department will get back to me to resolve issue)

                4)Customer service exec:Sindhu at 6.02 pm IST on 28th May (worst customer care exec I have come across, was rude and uncultured, she was the ultimate example of Citibank's commitment to horrible customer care, put me on a 10 min hold and then the line went dead again)

                5)Customer service exec:Ramya(QA Manager) at 6.15 pm IST on 28th May (tried to listen more intelligently than the other customer care and said would call me back on Monday after looking into the matter. Unfortunately as always, line went dead even before I could give details of my calls last year so that she can retrace them)

                I have honestly given up on this bank and its service. Harassment is the only motive they have when it comes to their customers. Sitting in the US I have nothing to lose but I still made multiple calls thinking that someone would have the wisdom and power to resolve the issue. Unfortunately it looks like the bank is full of people who pass the buck and fail in resolving any issue. I am disappointed that this bank/customer relation has gone totally sour.

                I will make no more calls to Citibank in India and waste my money.I am mailing them this same email today. Lets see what they will do(except nothing!)

                SBI CITY CARD - Hyderabad — Wrong Billing

                Hi ,

                This is Santhosh From Hyderabad. From last 10 months onwards i am using the SBI Credit Card.
                My Card No is : [protected]. I am facing the problem like wrong billing.

                Two months before i have purchase one laptop using my sbi credit card. After that i request
                for customer care to convert that transaction into EMI. They won't convert that statement into EMI.
                After bill generation i surprised, because of billing. Immediately i call to the customer care and i
                ask , why that transaction is not converted into EMI. They simply said you didn't raise the request for
                conversion for that transaction. They are asking like, do you have any reference number for request raising.
                For that, i didn't ask the reference number for that request.

                Any way Cutomer Care pepople give one suggestion. The suggestion like SBI Will provide the loan facility
                for clearing the Outstanding. For that i agreed and raise for that loan. After 15 minutes, i again call to customer
                care for cancellation of that loan. At that time they promised like Cancell the Loan.

                In the next month, again i surprised the Bill. Because they won't Cancell the Loan. I didn't get any
                DD for that Loan. But customer peopole says that Some Person RAO has taken the DD. But any way for this cancellation
                it takes minum 6 months. Upto 6 months it will be appeared in the Statement, like that they are said.

                After fighting with Customer Care, they promoised like we are Cancell the Transaction. After the next month
                bill again i surprised, still that transaction is there in statment.

                Finally i am irritated with the SBI. Upto know i don't know how much interest they are charged.
                Please give me an suggestion.

                There is a person named Latha in the Collections Department, who used filthy, abusive and unacceptable language calling up my home. She has also told that i have not made any payments for the last 4 months...Even though i pay after the due date...i have ensured that i pay the minimum due regularly...

                The needs to be taught a lesson.

                Citibank — I don't hold any citibank credit card still getting Payment due alert from citibank

                Hi,

                I don't have any citibank credit card. Still every day i get Citi-Alert SMS from citibank as follows:
                "Dear Customer,
                Your credit card payment is due for Rs.5423.17. Plsmake the payment immidiately or call at (Toll Free)[protected]. Pls ignore if already paid."

                Several times I tried calling [protected] but it says this line is currently busy or not available.

                In this regards, twice the customer care executive called me and asking for somebody called "Srinivas". I informed that the mobile number is wrongly registered with Srinivas's name and i don't hold any card. Still i'm getting SMS o regular basis which is very much irritating to me.

                As i personally hold 2 Citibank Cards with a very high credit limits, i seriously was shocked to see that message on my screen as it was asking for outstanding payment balance in lacs.

                but seriously saying this is completely fake and its kind a racket going on in Delhi which give consumers a threat of higher outstanding amount and want them to call on their phone no. and may be they would ask your credit card no. and your other details mentioned on card and may misuse your card.. so beware.

                My account [protected](Salary Account) came to effect from April 2008, and my salary account was changed to a normal account with out intimating to me in July 2008, which I came to know when I spoke to Ashish (Citi bank Associate) today 15/10/2008. At the time of opening the account, I was told that you can draw money from any ATM and it will not be charged. Now I am seeing that there are number of service charges. Please look into my issue ASAP and advise me whether I should continue this account or not.

                Dear Sir

                I had taken balance transfer of Rs. 29100 on 17-09-08 in favour of HDFC Bank for three month on 0% interest. As per this scheme it is suppose to be charge me processing fees @ 2% + @ 12.36% (service tax ) i.e. Rs. 654. When I received the credit card statement and noticed that bank have charged me Rs. 1452.09 as processing fees and service tax Rs.179.48 and principal amount is also not appearing in the statement. I thought that by mistake bank have debited this amount to my account. When I called up their customer care on 08-11-08 they told me that charges is related to Easy balance transfer @5% +service taxes for six months. I told the person there is mistake in processing of my balance transfer request, which will create me problem to pay back your money in six equated EMI and high charges of Rs.[protected]. But the person was not ready to listen me and sort out the problem.

                If you will check your record that this kind of balance transfer I am taking on regular basis and very much familiar about the scheme & charges.

                Kindly do the necessary correction in your record to help me to pay your money smoothly and to maintain good relation.

                I have been asked by Citibank to pay the maount for last 5 years for the transaction that I have never done. They don't have any charge slip against those transactions to sent across. And after sending the customer declaration form they told me that they will do an investigation after 5 year, they are telling me it is too late for the invetsigation and i have to pay the bill.

                Citi bank is the worse bank and their systems and staff is even worst, I had a citi bank credit card which i surrendered/closed in 2004 June and now when i applied for home loan they came up with a huge outstanding on that card, This is after i receiced a confirmation letter from bank that card is closed...

                It is indeed a great amount of dissatisfaction and discontent that CITI Bank has debited/charged something iniquitous in my Credit card account, despite having more than 8 years of strong association and without having a single record of cheque bouncing.

                EMI Payment (availed 37EMI @ 8390/pm option) of a particular month got delayed because of my family problem (somebody fell sick, had to move to Hyderabad for treatment).

                Subsequently I released two EMIs together Rs.16780/-(to avoid penalty and interest), even after that you levied charges in my account. You went on charging month after month relentlessly, which mounted up to Rs. 4110/-. Despite giving repeated phone calls to your customer support no corrective action taken.

                Being a responsible citizen, I am paying the entire amount thru below mentioned cheque to normalize the account on protest.

                I am ashamed to write this mail to you and be rest assured that subsequently I shall be refrained from making further transaction with CITI Bank post clearances of aforesaid EMI tenor.

As per your advise, I have converted some of my dues in ECS so that I can save interest charges.I have received SMS from you on 02/03/09 at 2.54 P.M that my payment towards your bank is due on 04/03/09.Please note that this is ECS & according to my best of my knowledge, ECS has to appear in customers account only on due date & not before due date.I am enjoying this facility for other bank also, including Barclay Finance. But no one is depositting ESC before due date.But in my case ECS has been deposited by you twice before due date & thats why unnessarily I had to bear a loss of RS 1400/

                I had taken a loan from citibank 3 years ago. I have been paying my EMI as and when I had received my monthly statement. very often the monthly statements would reach me after the due date. As a result a late payment charge + other charges were being collected. At times I hadn't even received the monthly statement. I have been charged Rs. 300/- per statement when I have requested for one. I had been to the Kolkata office and soke to the manager. He assured me that he would help. I applied for a reversal of charges which amounts to a couple of thousands of rupees. I had written a letter to your office in Chennai. I received a reply that my data was not available on the database in Chennai. There are a few more EMIs to be paid. I am willing to pay them as EMIs and not as consolidated amounts as told to me by phone. Can you arange this PLEASE?

                Citibank — Monthly Transaction Error

                I have done a investment throught mutual fund for which every month a transaction goes to the mutual fund throught SIP( Systematic Investment Plan) from Citibank. But on 11th May 2009 Citibank made 3 transaction instead of one and thrice the amount has been deducted from my account.
                I filled a complaint about this to Citibank but didn't received proper update regarding this. Every time I called up I have to wait to speak to the senior executive. I spoke to Mr. Harpal and he said he will contact mutual fund office and will give me a call back but till date I haven't received any call back.
                I contacted my mutual fund office and asked them about the same but they said that they had received the transaction only once & they even delievered the statement of the same. Lastly I got a call from Ms. Preeti from Citibank who informed me that of my transaction 1 has already been debited in my account and the 1 transaction was of November 11th, 2008, which is not correct because of 11th November 2008 the amount was already been deducted from my account.
                Please do the needful ASAP.

                Citibank Credit Card — FRAUDULENT BILLING

                I had a citibank credit which expired in Oct 2006. I cleared out my bills before even it expired, as i was going abroad for a long time and wanted a clean credit record before leaving. At that time itself, i placed numerous calls asking and requesting to close the account, but no steps were taken and I was asked to call from one desk to another. I was pissed of with their attitude and customer service, and left India then.
                I came back to India sometime back, and i get a correspondence from them through an email telling me that I have defaulted one making payments to some interest and late fee charges that they have bene charing to me for past 3 years and want me to make payment for them. This is completely unacceptable. Anyone with any suggestions in this regard.

                Hi there.i am using an ATM (Indian oil ) which is not working now a days,whenever i try to withdrawal some cash there is an error pop up every time "Invalid transaction" .                 Sir,

                I am card holder of your bank since 2003. There has been no chance of late payment on any account. Last time in March 2012, I requested for payment through ECS and the form duly filled in and with requisite attachments was sent to your Chennai office in the same month. I inquired through Customer care Center as to whether payment due on 30th April, 2012 should be sent by me through cheque or not. It was told to me that the ECS payment has been made active on your card and you need not send any payment through cheque or cash. An SMS was also requested by to this effect and as result of this request I received an SMS also. So I did not send the due payment. But unfortunately, the ECS could not technically succeed and I was informed after due date to deposit the money in cash at the Branch. I received such message that ECS has not succeeded and on the very next day I deposited the money in cash at the Branch. These facts you can check up from the records.

                Though I am not at fault, an amount of Rs. 600 has been added to the next statement as late fee. I think this is an arbitrary decision and it should not have been done without going into the merits of the case. I request that this late fee amount may please be reversed keeping in view my previous record of payment of last 8-9 years. I have sent payment in full including Rs. 600 due on 30th May 2012. Please go through the above facts and consider my request sympathetically and favorably and reverse the late fee charges.

                Suggestion: It is suggested that like other Banks, ECS process may be processed four five days in advance of the due date so that if ECS does not succeed, card holder can be advised in time to make payment before due date and no late fee charges are levied. Late fee charges should be enforced in such cases where the defaulters are doing it deliberately and in routine. One or two defaults can be forgiven if circumstances merits waival.

                An early action taken in the matter may please be advised.

                How CITIBANK stole my money


                I should name this note "How Citibank Stole my Money"
                I work hard, really hard and I make enough money to get by. I am not rich by any standards and also have student loans to clear.

                Around this time last year a certain amount of money was to be deposited into my bank account from my provident fund office in India. Even after a year, that money has not been credited. Even worse, on further investigation, it turns out that not only has this money not been credited, it was not even returned to the Provident Fund Office. The PF office has written a complaint to Citibank about this (attached picture) but this has simply been ignored.

                I would like to understand what Citibank has done with my money. You filthy corrupt take money from the hard working middle class with absolute no shame. These Christmas gifts and offers you are promoting are probably off the money you stole from me in the first place.

                I paid money via Internet to vysyaa.in for purchase of samsung mobile galaxy note. There was no confirmation by the company till next day. I checked through net to find out company being fraud. And asked the credit card company to stop the transaction.i m waiting for their response

                I am holding a Citibank Credit Card No. [protected] for the last 20 years or more.
                As far as my memory goes, I have never been a defaulter in making payment.

                Last month (February) I got your bill for Rs.981.03 & payment was made promptly
                on 4/2/2013. Later after a week I got an intimation that there seems to be some over-writing
                on the cheque that is why it has not been deposited & sent back to me for making re-payment.
                That was also paid promptly.

                Now yesterday I got my next bill (March) charging me Rs.300/- as late payment fee. I am
                really shocked to see this bill. Where I have made mistake & why I have been charged.
                If the cheque was deposited & comes back then I am responsible. But if Citibank has taken
                its own decision & in the process it is delayed, then I think I should be given some grace time.

                Kindly look into this matter symphathetically & request to wave of this late fee.

                  I wanted to close the account with Citibank due to their poor responses, and when I picked up the phone and talked to them, their first question was "Are you a Tamalian"? (I don't know why they asked this question in the first place), and they do not close your account at any cost. Even the Santhanam who is the Head of Customer service, does not respond to any mails, There are some nonsense guys around sitting in Citibank. Its no surprise that Citibank is nose diving these days. I would request anybody not to business with Citibank India in future, surprisingly, customer service of Citibank in US is topnotch. When will these guys learn?

                    LOOK INTO THE MATTER


                    I would like to bring into your kind attention a complaint regarging one of your employee, stating his name as ADVANI, who says he is an advocate. He states that he is speaking from Mathura Road Citi Bank office. He is calling up daily at my residence

                    and office for payments, although we have made payments. This person is harrassing me by calling at home and office and talks rudely with foul language.We have told the person that we have made the payment and he is still saying give the money on my table. I won't be sending the executive at your place for collections, and that person is calling at my office in every 5 mintunes, misbehaving.



                    On 12th.May, 2008 he harrassed me continuosly from morning till afternoon, although I have told him I would pay one instalment tommorrow. He repeatedly called from Ph. No.[protected] on mobile, saying you just talk with me and do not disconnect. It can be verified from the call detials of the said phone no. Although I have paid the instalment on 13th, May, 2008 at about 9.30 AM to the Citi Bank executive vide receipt no.126583, he repetedly called on my mobile saying "you should have given the money to me on my table". Earlier on many times, when he rang at my residence, he would not talk with my husband. And will say he wants to talk with me only, saying " We have not given loan to you " . Is this man a perverted person ? Sometimes he asks for Rs.10, 000/= and today he told me to give Rs.5000/= on his table.


                    A complaint was also lodged at Customer Care centre on Ph. No.[protected] on 13th May, 2008 evening by Mr. Satbir, but still I have not got any reply for the same.


                    You are requested to, please, look into the matter.

The check was issued from my company.Your executives told me there that we have to confirm with our customer care to your office that you are a employ of that office and the check was issued on your name but after waiting there for more than one hour they said that we didn't got and response from our customer care till now so you have to ask to your company for another check with stamp or have to wait until we don't get any response from our customer care side while at the same time one more employ of my company went up to your nehru place branch and got the money from the check of same company and in same manner without any problem. so tell me one thing do your bank is having different rules and regulations in different branches in the same city. I am totally unsatisfied with service you are providing here. Please do something of it otherwise i have to take any action against it.

                      Unfortunately I had taken a loan from this firm 2 years back at Udupi branch .
                      I had given cheques towards repayment .There was no problem in repayment till 6-7 months. Then it started. The cheques were not presented to the bank and some uneducated executive would call up and talk nonsense. This was happening only at Udupi branch. Later I moved to Bangalore and one executive would collect whenever I called up. This was informed to Udupi Branch more than 10 times. Still these guys would call up my home number and harass my old parents . When asked about this, the guy who picked the phone started using abusive language. I really want to know isnt there anyway to teach these guys a lesson ?

                      I have taken a personal loan from citi financial .I am about five years old customer and many time PL sanctioned on top up bases . I have some financial problem in these days . I will pay my loan in next some months . But Mr Amit from chandigarh sector - 35 B branch threatening me at my home . His senior name is Mr Nitin Sharma .                       I have taken personal loan from Citi Finance. And, one of my friends from ICICI.

                      I have not able to pay EMI in a month. And, tried to pay by 25th of that month. But, I could not be able to make the payment by the time I told the Recovery agent. And, told him that I would pay that EMI amount afterwards when I get amount. But, he said that is not possible.

                      My friend also had the same problem with ICICI Recovery agent. And, that agent told my friend to pay before 5th (of next month) or otherwise he has to pay 2% of the EMI amount from 5th PER DAY. He is a regular paying person for past 18 months.

                      How can we manage if at all if we are not able to clear the bounced EMI in the same month?

                      Please clarify our doubt and what happens if we are not able to pay in the said time!

                      Subject: Bullying behavior of Recovery Agents

                      My father (Mr.Dinesh Sharma) got a personal loan from Citi Financial, due to some financial problems we couldn't make few installments anyhow we have made almost 15 installments because we always kept and keep the intention to repay the amount we have taken. I would like to bring this thing in your notice that your recovery agents are literally harassing us for the last many days. My father is not here most of the times. We have told them several times that they can converse with him for the same over the phone. They have started standing outside our house for long durations. Today when an two recovery agents came to my place at around 7:00 PM then my mother did tell me about it. I went to talk to them; they were standing in front of the gate for the last half an hour. I asked them the reason for standing there for long durations then they reacted in a very threatening manner mentioning this thing this house has a loan ( please notice their way of conveying as this is a personal loan nothing to do with house moreover pinpointing their finger on house). It was as insulting in front of the neighbors as we are hardcore criminals on the contrary their appearance was not less than some criminals. Their way of talking was so threatening which induced me to warn them about police and laws. In the reply, Recovery Agent named, 'Avatar' said, '' We have been playing with police". This is their opinion about laws and police. These verbal comments are nothing other than harassment. When I told him that this is not the way to deal as it wouldn't fetch them anything until and unless they wouldn't listen to our problem in the reply recovery agent named, ‘Avatar’ said, "I will see you tomorrow". (The tone of this threat was to kill or beat someone). I don’t deny repaying however this kind of misbehavior would not be entertained at all. Now please tell me is this the way you deal now let me bring few more things in your notice which is below mentioned:

                      (RBI) has recently issued certain guidelines for banks. The norms are expected to bring relief to borrowers facing harassment from recovery agents

                      What benefits do RBI guidelines translate into for the borrowers? Informs VN Kulkarni, head, debt counselling, Abhay Debt Counselling Centre: “The borrowers can now pinpoint the duties of a recovery agent; he/she can object if the agents fail to work within the framework given to them. If the borrower is a defaulter, he has to pay the money borrowed, no doubt, but the agents too cannot take law into their own hands.”

                      Says Poorvi Chothani of law firm Law Quest International, “The borrowers need to know that now the bank cannot forward a case to its recovery agent if the borrower has lodged a complaint or grievance proceeding.” As per the guidelines, the recovery agent cannot step in unless such a complaint has been finally disposed of or the bank is convinced, with relevant proof, that the borrower’s claim is frivolous.

                      Further, if a case is referred to the recovery agency, the banks need to furnish the details of the recovery agencies to the borrower. Also, the recording process of text/calls by the banks with the borrower’s consent ensures that no harsh or threatening calls are made by the recovery agents to the borrowers.

                      The guidelines empower the borrower to raise his/her voice if the recovery agents cross the line. One needn’t put up with recovery agents using abusive language, making calls at residence at odd hours, creating a scene before neighbors and so on

                      This is really a case of harassment and threatening and our whole family is very much frustrated about this. These guys are mentally harassing us which is actually leading us to depression. We are already going through lot of problems but still we have intention to pay back but we would not take this harassment at all. If the repetition would be there for the same then we would be induced to take some legal actions against it. Kindly try and understand the situation. Whatever is happening is not at all fair. So kindly do the needful.

                        I hold a Suvidha Account with Citibank the account number is stated above. While at the time of opening the account I was promised a free Credit card from Citibank IOC without any documentation process. Then after that I received a letter stating that as I don't have a PAN number, I am required to submit Form 60 alongwith the address proof for enabling them to release the credit card. Today the 21st May 2008, I sent the signed Form 60 along with the Electricity bill showing my residential address to Mr. Ajay Shah of Citibank (Credit Cards Department) by fax no 28358080 Ext 2222 but even despite that they have now asked me to submit a copy of my photo id which was not mentioned in the letter sent to me by Citibank Customer Care. I now request you to kindly look into the matter on an urgent basis.

                          This is in response to your call on my cellphone today. Please consider this as a final warning prior to any Legal Action from my side

                          I am addressing this email to all the email ids I found on internet assuming at least any one can help me on the below given issue.

                          I keep getting calls to my cellphone asking for somebody called GIRISH. I have been repeatedly telling you over the phone (whenever I get such a call) as that my phone (ending with 554) is mine (Card # ending with 6006) and not Girish. So you are expected to remove that number against GIRISH name. Despite all my requests you have not bothered to do so and continued to harass me for the last 3 Months. I have recorded today's telephonic conversation by two of your employees calling from Mumbai. when i told them they have a wrong number they frusturated me on the phone as i am lieing to them, further no action taken i will report to consumer court and police as well, I also have copies reference number complained to Citi customer care on the same, The reference number is 54092, and i was called from Mumbai number : [protected]. Please action on this before I action legally.

                            Hi, I'd lost my wallet containing Citibank credt card on Jan'08& by the time the loss cud be reported & the card to be blocked, the fraudster did fraud usage of Rs.14500/-.Citibank is not ready to help in any case stating For any tranx done before card is blocked the Liabiiliity lies on Cardholder.Minimal, bank shud consider n give a patient ear n hear to customer.When asked to compare the slip signed by fraudster n my previus signed-authorised slips, no comments from them.When demanded the chg slip from Citi, the sign's are totally different.My Q is what does the vendor/merchant has while doina a tranx?Arent they supposed to chk photo/sign on card n compare the same in actuals?Inspite of repeated calls/email, no supprt from citi.                             i have a citi bank credit card and have been doing all my payments much before the due dates.So far the statements had been coming fine but in the month of may statement, much to my surprise the last cash payment i did of Rs.10, 000/- on 15 may 2008 in the evening at the churchgate branch is not reflecting on the current statement.

                            I had called up the customer care for the same.I would also like to bring to your notice that your customer care is a farce. It should be re-worded as Company care.There answer was basically indifference.Citibank takes no responsibility and does not believe there is a necessity to disclose any information to their customer nor do they give any satisfactory answer for the complaint lodged.Phone service that does not provide a service at all. What they provide is waiting, slow and hang up replies.Customer service rudeness is outrageous and should be looked into.

                            If there are certain bank policies then there is a budget every common man lives with as well and such errors that your bank does ruins and upsets the normal life of a common man.One thing leads to the other.

                            It completely shocks me with the way a multinational bank like yours functions and does these blunders.

                            I am holding Citibank Credit card since February. But i have never used that card. Suddenly i got statement with 47, 000 due amount on August 28th. Then immediately i blocked the card. By that time the due amount was 51, 000. I filed dispute against those transactions. But bank has reverted all of them saying that those are valid transactions. I got all transaction receipts from bank. the signatures on those receipts are totally different from mine. But bank is not ready to verify them. Now the total due amount is 56, 000.

                            Dear Team,
                            These is related to my lost card no.[protected] on dated 18/11/2009.FIR done for the same at Tilaknagar police station.
                            1)Spoke to citibank executive on 18th night the communication done to him to block the card and hold the payment for the vendor as the sign is not mine and he revert that sign is not important with any sign on chart slip they are liable to pay and revert me that one of officer will revert to you on query.
                            2)It was told to your executive were should i submit my all documents. He told there is no need for the same.
                            3)Today morning Mr.Anandi B gave me a call from chennai which was like harassment call were she stated that any sign on chart slip Citi bank is liable to pay to vendor no sign of customer is important on the slip and there is no importance for the sign beyond the orignal card any sign on chart slip we have to pay the vendor. No verfiction or investigation will be done from citi bank.If i have to resolve the issue i have to personally manage the vendor.Chart slip will be provided to me to fight against the vendor.
                            4)Then i gave the call on same no. were i spoke to citi bank officer Mr.klevin joseph who handles credit call escalation as wat he stated.While coversation with him he used to state that these is RBI guidlines states that any sign on chart slip we have to pay to vendor whatever may be the signature.I was telling again and again to all of them that sign is not mine you can investigate but still everyone harp on the same thing that signature is not important for any transaction which i feel is not correct as there is no importance for signature of card holder for any transaction.Even your executive denied to give his own email id has he state that he dont have email id.
                            Even none of your officer were able to give me vendor address were these swaping was done as they dont know the address for the same.Chart slip will be provided to me after 45 days.Many statement done by your officer were against the RBI guidlines they were not sure about the same than why to comment on the same.So such untrained executive creats bad impression and wrong feedback about RBI and about Citi bank.If certain things are not know then that should be reverted later on rather than commenting on the same.For authentitation go through calls made by your officer which has been recored for quality purpose.
                            5)Main query is that officer are rude in there calls not ready to get at root of problem and are unaware of terms and condition with respect to Creditcards so how can they solve query.
                            6)Transaction of Rs 5318/- is not my transaction and its not my signature.So i requets Citi bank to investigate the same as it is vendor fault which have not verified the sign on the card.You can also check my history with your card and the payment done by me.
                            7)Request is to kindly go through the matter and resolve the same as soon as possible.Require for your revert for the same.

                              Whether any bank in the world charges interest of Rs563/-(+service tax of Rs81/-) on last bill balance payable of Rs 140/-. It happend with Citibank only. Last bill balance was Rs 21140/-, due on 18.4.2008. I paid Rs 21, 000/- on 15.4.2008 on 15.4.2008 i.e. well before the due date. Surprisingly in the next month bill due on 18.5.2008, I have been charged interest of Rs 563/- (+ service tax Rs 81/-) for balance due of last month's balance of Rs 140/-. I registered my complaint Ref No [protected] on 11.5.2008 with Ms Jaswinder. But her boss Ms Deepika could not talk to me (busy...) even I holded more than 30 mts in my landline telephone. Customer arrogant representative do not have convincing reply, but arrogantly replied that I have to pay what the demand letter is mentioned. She has threatened that if not paid, interest will be charged again on the paid amount, which is happening only in India by Citibank. What is the remedy and how to get away from the arrogant citibankers and their arrogant customer (care) representatives ?????

                              3) who informed me that the "InterestCharge" Rs.839.38 (Rs.747.22 +ServiceTax Rs.92.36) have been charged, because of only Rs.163 Short in Payment(Rs.26324.56) made on 09.OCT.2008. This interest is charged on the whole amount of Rs.26500/- for whole One Month.

                              Interest Charge: Rs.747.22 + Service Tax Rs.92.36 = Rs.839.58

                              I am willing to book a complaint against them. Please come and support me.

                                Even the ombudsman of Citibank is of no use, I wrote a mail (see below) 10 days back and still haven't received a response.
                                I am sending this email to this email address though I am sure nothing is going to happen.
                                I am fed up completely with Citibanks services, only reason why I am still with Citibank is because my company has salary account here, never again am I going to get associated with Citibank.

                                I have a complaint against the Citibank Wealth Managers Ms. Mrudula
                                Dambre and Mr. Nitin Jain from the Pune branch.

                                I will give you a detail about the incident.

                                Mrudula along with one of her supervisor had contacted me in Nov'07
                                and scheduled a meeting. She showed me a plan of Birla Sunlife and asked
                                me to sign some documents and said these documents wont be used till
                                the time I give a consent that I am fine with this policy. I had
                                specifically told her and her supervisor that I need to discuss this with my
                                wife and only then will I say 'yes' or 'no' till that time please do
                                not proceed with this and she had re-assured me that nothing would be
                                done without my consent and she said that she is getting them signed so
                                that in case if I decide to say yes she can quickly submit these
                                documents and she wont have to come back again to me to get them signed.
                                After that she never contacted me and I left for Delhi in last week
                                of November and on 1st December I received an SMS from Birla Sunlife
                                "Thanks for registering into the policy and the policy documents have been
                                mailed to my address", by the time I came back from Delhi it was
                                already 2nd week of December, I called up Mrudula (without even opening the
                                policy documents) and asked her to come and meet me, she kept on
                                postponing the meeting and she finally came on 20th December, I asked her why
                                she had enrolled me into the policy and she gave me reasoning that
                                there was some law coming into effect because of which the interest which
                                I will earn on this policy that would get taxed so she enrolled me
                                before the law came into effect (I am not sure if that is true or not),
                                anyways I specifically told her that this policy does not meet my
                                requirements and I would not be interested in this, she said she will take care
                                of this and left.
                                I didnot hear from her for 2-3 days and then I called her and then
                                she said that I will have to go to Birla Sunlife and get the policy
                                cancelled, I controlled my anger at that time because she had done nothing
                                and she could have told this to me last time also. I went to Birla
                                sunlife to close my policy and there I came to know that Citibank has not
                                contacted them about closure of the policy and that I'll have to pay the
                                whole sum of Rs1, 20, 000/- because the freelook period of 15days had
                                expired. I called up Mrudula and to my surprise she tells me the same
                                thing which the Birla Sunlife people are telling me and she never
                                mentioned about freelook period or anything of that sort before this.
                                I spoke with Mrudula and tried to reason out with her but it was like
                                banging my head on wall, she stopped responding to my communications
                                and finally I somehow I got to speak to her supervisor Nitin Jain who
                                was as useless as her and in the end Nitin asked me what I want, I told
                                him, I wanted the policy closed and all the charges to my credit card
                                reversed, he said he will work on it, this was in January 2008.
                                From January to April I have sent numerous emails and made phone
                                calls asking them to update me of the progress and they never do (they have
                                stopped responding). Yesterday (24th April 2008), birla sunlife
                                withdrew Rs70000/-, I was still under the impression that something might
                                happen, but now I am sure I have been conned by Citibank. I have made it
                                very clear to citibank that I wont be paying anything to Birla Sunlife
                                or to Citibank Credit Card and come what may I stand by my decision.

                                I have emails which I have sent to Mrudula and Nitin but have not
                                received responses, if required I can produce those emails.

                                Mr. Ribeiro, please help me to get this issue closed and all the
                                charges reversed.

                                Please let me know if I need to provide any more information.

                                  I have deposited Rs.8000 in Citi Bank atm at C.P. I duly got Rs.8000 in my account after 2 days then after 4 days they deducted Rs.2000 as incorrect Atm Deposit due to which a ECS bounced and i was charged Rs.250 when i complained abt the matter they said they will look into the matter and then get back to me on 26th Apr 2008.They did nothing about it when i asked why they just bluntly said that because we received only Rs.6000 that's why nothing can be done about it. By the way i do not deposit cash at bank because they charge Rs.100 as bank walkin charges + service tax + edu. cess. Please help me because its not a matter of Rs.2000 its a matter of Hard earned money.

                                    Dear Sir,

                                    . it is citibank has not honored his own commitment given to me in providing proper banking service and went on to provide contradictory balance statement which lead to the harasment to me i have given about 30 to 40 reminders which yielded no result but for the present legal notice.

                                    I has availed a loan in the Citi Bank and he had opted for fluctuating rate of interest and the scheme which i had opted has a Current Account and the money excess in it would be adjusted towards payment. In the case of my client the EMI was about 16, 012/- p.m., initially when the rate of interest was as high as 14% and now the same has come down to 8%.

                                    inspite of the sharp decrease in the rate of interest the EMI stood the same so the extra amount that has been added to the current account was also ought to have been adjusted towards the principal. But to the shock and surprise of me, Citi Bank has come out with a balance figure which does not matches with its own earlier statement given by the bank employee some times back.
                                    Citi Bank is playing fraud on my client by providing improper information without proper break ups and also went on to add so many extra charges which my client have already paid. improper account balance and the loan balance information provided from your Citi Bank.

                                    how the due and the outstanding has been arrived into, can a legal notice without providing proper information . any kind of pressuring my client to accept the outstanding by imposing threat of legal action against my client without any basis.





                                    i sent reminders seeking for proper explanation as to why the details specifying the Ideal Balance, Actual Balance, Ideal Interest, Ideal Principal, Applied Interest and the Monthly Save has not been properly provided. But these particulars were not provided, instead citi bank went on to say that the reduced rate of interest consequent amount that has been accrued will be adjusted towards the principal and loan will mature earlier than the stipulated tenor, this message does not contain any information as to how these extra interest has been allocated till this day.




                                    i have been put to severe mental disturbance and turmoil due to inappropriate calculation of balance of loan and balance in his current account without these information was totally kept in dark by citibank about the status of his loan. i received the false and contradictory statements what citibank has provided till this day It is to inform i have given several reminders Citibank that ither the a/c shold be corrected else the stoppage of EMI will be the sole responsibility of bank and my client will not be responsible to pay the interest for this period. It is matter of shock that i made the payment for service fee as Rs. 11200 through chequ even that has been shown as outstanding amount.The trasaction details furnished by bank from Current a/c to home loan are totally ununderstandable and confusing . i visited the bank many times but no details are furnished. The monthly statement does not show any where how the deposited amount has been adjusted against the loan principal and interest.No where the interest saved of due to reduction of interest has been shown adjusted to principal. Also interest accrued due to additional deposits in the crrent account has been shown.
                                    Conclusively your citibank people are not clear to give correct statement and different persons give different statements. i requestedin formats to Citibank repeatedly to furnish the details so that correctness can be seenbut Citibank failed to do so

                                    So here by icall to furnish all details from the day one till today which should include particulars of Month-EMIrecovered, EMI adjusted in principal and interest, actual interest, saving of interest adjusted in principal, extra interest adjusted due to extra deposit of money in current a/ccount, amount ofextra deposits for the month, date wise transfer of money from current a/c to home loan a/c from the date of availing the loan failing which my client would be compelled initiate legal recourses for providing false information and trying to get unjust enrichment by using threat on my client. Your bank should correctly justify the claim which has been changing from person to person

                                      I have transferred money from Citibank to HSBC on 1st march and still the money has not reached HSBC. Its on 3rd April when I got the SMS that my home loan emi is due then I realized that money has not reached.

                                      Put a complain against Citibank as it is there responsibility to get and ack from HSBC after amount is credited..Did not hear anything back from them just they handed me UTR #...
                                      RBI ---- UTR # CITIN[protected]

                                      Took this UTR # to HSBC on 3rd April and still they have not told that where is my money 16k..

                                      Whom should I contact now? RBI????

                                        My wife had a citibank women's card (Lifetime free). I also had a add-on card. We got a call from Citibank executive from Delhi that they are giving a free health policy on their card and for that they need our consent. I again enquired if it was totally free, which was confirmed by the executive. We said OK. Next we received some policy documents at home. the monthly charges started showing in the statements for that policy. I complained to the customer care and to their Grievance Redressal Officer, at santhanam.[protected]@citigroup.com. However nothing happened, and they started calling me for settlement.
                                        However im not satisfied as they never told me how the charges against me were maintainable as i never consented to pay for that policy, nor had I signed any documents regarding that.
                                        So i do not agree to pay for something i had not asked for. Now few days back i have started getting calls from so called Legal Recovery cells, that i have to pay or they wil send me legal notice. Kindly suggest how i should deal with the problem.
                                        As i want to contest the claim of payment and am ready for any legal recourse also.

                                        do not yield to such scrupulous practices of these foreign companies... this is what exactly they did to us for 200 yrs... let those bast**** do whatever they like but do not pay them a single penny...
