Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a privileged client of HDFC Bank for the past 7 years. I have held different accounts with the bank including savings accounts of myself and wife at the Chandanagar branch in Hyderabad. On September 2016, my wife and I, had applied for home loan under personal category, with the Chandanagar branch of HDFC (File#[protected]. Promptly, a home loan processing fee of Re 12, 082 was also paid, on 7th Oct 2016.
Subsequently, the home loan was approved and we were asked to pay an additional processing fee of Re 17, 933. Upon inquiring the reason for extra fee, we were told that since we own a personal business (Limited Liability Partnership), our loan was approved under business category. As we were not satisfied with the bank’s condition of loan approval under business category, we rejected the loan offered to us. Also, we requested for the refund of home loan fee (Re 12, 082 already paid). We were informed that a refund will be given after deducting Re 3000 (for address verification done) It is very unfortunate that even after 3 months, we have not received our refund of Re 9, 082.
Since then we have contacted Mr Rajesh, our home loan sales consultant (phone #[protected] and Mr Sunil Ghanate, Home Loan Manager (phone #[protected] from HDFC Ltd and sent a number of emails to the customer service of HDFC Ltd. We have also contacted the Branch Manager of HDFC Bank Mrs Sailaja and our Relationship Manager Mr Bhaskar Nandula. But, all our efforts were futile. It is very sad indeed that HDFC team either not bothered with responding back or their response was sluggish, always trying to delay the process.
After giving up on receiving my hard earned money because of the indolent attitude of HDFC staff, I have decided to contact you and formally lodge a complaint. Could I please request a refund of processing fee, along with compensation for interest we would have received for investing that amount elsewhere?
