Extent in date of policy maturity

Sir,
I have two policies- no[protected] and[protected] in plan term 165/20. I had told to my agent that the duration of my Policy should be ten years, but he has made it for 20 years. On being asked why he had done this he replied that it will matter at all and I can claim full benefit after 10 years.
