My name is sunil - [protected], residing in anna nagar west extn, chennai-600101. I stay with my wife aged about 29 and my kid the aforesaid address. My wife has availed a home loan from hdfc bank before our marriage (2014) for around 7.5 lakhs and there is a pending loan principle of 7 lakhs. Due to some unfortunate personal reasons, she has quit her job during the year 2017 and failed to pay about 3 emi's for the hdfc home loan. Since then i have been paying her home loan. Her father was an nri and affected with paralysis early 2018 and due to financial crisis, even he is not able to take the home loan. This is the story so far.
Since i have been paying the home loan emi, i thought of availing some income tax benefits and approached the same with hdfc limited to convert the loan account under my name. Hdfc limited clearly mentioned it is not possible to do for an existing loan. So i approached axis home loan office located in ambattur with the same request. I met mr. Praveen and clearly explained all the above to him, also listed the below in points.
1) the loan has pending emi's which is not paid since a year (2017).
2) i will get the loan tracker only after paying the pending emi now in 2018 to hdfc ltd, when i applied for this axis home loan.
3) mentioned that this loan is only for income tax savings for myself and if there is even singe complication, please stop the loan processing.
Mr. Praveen stated that if the loan pending has been cleared, he will be able to easily process the request. With that statement, i submitted all the required documents and a processing fees of inr 2950/-. Now the loan is been rejected by axis bank with the reason that the old hdfc emi, was not cleared on time. I have informed this very clearly to mr. Praveen that the loan has pending 3 emi's which is 1 year old and that would be paid only when i'm applying the axis loan. I requested to return the documents i submitted and return the processing fees of inr 2950/-. I just got a reply from mr. Karthick that it is not possible to refund the amount.
I totally accept your bank policy and respect the same, but this is totally a negligence of your staff member who has made me pay the processing fees knowing all the bank rules that the loan will not be processed. I request you to kindly make arrangements to refund the loan processing fees of inr 2950 to my account.

I have applied for a personal loan amount of 3 lakh and the team has not approved since 2 weeks. I am tired of calling and sending messages but no response from anyone. Could you kindly cancel my request as I am arranging it from some other bank.
