- i purchased iphone 11 from flipkart on 18th dec. 2019 (Delivery date).
- later in march, i noticed that its invoice doesn't have imei number mentioned on it.
- due to imei no. Not being mentioned on the invoice, manufacturer has regretted to provide warranty on it.
- subsequently, i asked flipkart to provide me with the copy of an invoice with imei no. Mentioned on it.
- flipkart denied my request and said that they will refund my phone on returning it instead of providing me a copy of invoice with imei no. Mentioned on it.
- this proposal suggested by flipkart is acceptable. However, the condition is that flipkart expects me to return the phone in brand new condition without any wear due to usage.
- the above requirement is not possible to satisfy as the phone has undergone regular usage for the past three months and some wear is inevitable.
- flipkart has gone on record to say that they will not return the phone unless it is repaired.
- during the sale of the phone, flipkart had promised its one-year manufacturer warranty. However, due to lack of imei in the invoice, it is not possible to redeem the benefits of the warranty and hence, flipkart has failed to deliver its claims of a one-year warranty during its sale.
- this violation needs to be rectified by the company which now has 2 options:
1. Provide a new receipt with the imei number
2. Accept the phone in its current state and provide refund.
Failing to do so is a breach of the customer's trust and faith in the terms and conditions promised during sale.
