I am an existing customer of ICICI, New Bypass, Patna branch holding saving account number[protected].
Day before yesterday(08th Feb, 2022) my debit card was exchanged by an intruder at ICICI ATM center and once I realized the debit card was stolen by intruder, immediately I reached to the home branch(ICICI New Bypass Patna) and asked to block the existing debit card and UPI transaction. I gave the application for the same and was confirmed by the branch that the UPI transaction and the debit card has been blocked successfully.
Later around after 25-30 minutes I got the call from ICICI branch saying sum of rupees 5.39 lakhs of amount got debited from my account via Debit card.
So I asked the branch people how the transaction happened once the card was blocked completely but couldn't get any response from your branch employee. Then I called the customer care toll free number who confirmed the debit card was not blocked so the transaction happened, post which they blocked and freezed the account completely but by that time my account was debited for the amount of 5.39 lakhs.
The open SRs' which was raised over the call are SR[protected], SR[protected], SR[protected] for your reference.
The open questions to the ICICI are as below:-
1. How did the amount get debited even after bank confirmation that the debit card and UPI transactions has been blocked ?
2. How the ATM PIN was displayed on your ICICI ATM machine instead of displaying as XXXX?
3. How the other Mobile number was updated to my account without any intimation(SMS alerts) to my existing genuine mobile number?
4. How the ATM withdrawal happened for 4.5 lakhs in a day that too within 1 hr when the ATM withdrawal limit would be max of rupees 50, 000 or 1 lakhs(as per the RBI guidelines)?
So, basically these transactions happened even after communicating to the branch and due to the ICICI system glitches, it looks like your system(ICICI ATM machine and tech system was hacked).
Therefore I request you to do the required investigation and recover the unauthorized transaction amount as soon as possible on highest priority.
