Repair of 100% damaged car

My car chevrolet - spark whose ex-showroom worth is 2,67,000 - had an accident and the damage reported was close to 100% - So, the company instead of issuing us the cheque worth Rs - 2,50,000 after some salvage deduction got the car repaired at their workshop in Jaipur (Triumph motors) at Sitapura industrial area. Rejecting policy

I have submitted a proposal for family floater policy of ICICI Lombard through an agent, same day i paid the amount by Cheque for Rs. 16822/- for 2 year premium, after 25 days i got a cheque for Rs. 16822/- and a letter it shows my policy is cancelled. Insurance renewed over web but policy issued to someone else

I have renewed an insurance policy for Honda Activa vehicle over Web on 30-August-2009. An email received from the ICICI Lombard regarding the same but the insurance policy has been issued in the name of different person. Vehicle is owned by by my wife since it's registration last year.

I have issued a cheque of Rs 3507/- dt 08-08-08 for the Motor Policy renewal.
They issued a policy dt 13-08-08 to me (Only the cover note). They presented this cheque in the bank after 13 days on 21th Aug 08 and it got bounced.

How can they hold any cheque for so long and due to this they have cancelled my policy. On what basis they kept the cheque and never presented it.
