Hi,

I have taken Idea net setter 650 plan for internet connection. They are claiming a speed of 236 kbps thorugh this device and minimum of 150-180 kbps at any poin t of time. However, I am getting a speed of 0.0 kbps to 0.054 kbps most of th time and not able to carry out any work. Normal website homepage is taking 20-30 minutes to load. Other websites with heavy contents are not opening at all.
I have raised thi complaint to Idea way back but still the probelm is not resolved. They have already accepted that thier is some range problem in that area. Since I am not able to use this device at all, why should I pay monthly bill for this? Now I am asking them to take their device back and return my money and discontinue connection. But they are not agreeing to that as well. Each time they are saying that technical team is working on this problem.
Can you please look into this matter?

Dear sir,

However, I am getting a speed of 0.0 kbps to 60.00 kbps most of th time its comes to zero.I have raised this complaint to Idea way back but still the probelm is not resolved. They have already accepted that thier is some range problem in that area. Since I am not able to use this device at all, why should I pay monthly bill for this? Now I am asking them to take their device back and return my money and discontinue connection.also its brought to your notice at the time beggining it was totaly unable to workd so i return it to your outlet at jallahalli cross. and again they people
after 15 days gave it back to me and they committed we should concession amount of one month from your outstanding.


Now you are requested to kindlly discontinue my postpaid plan and activate the prepaid plan.

    First when I logged a complaint with Consumer Complaints website, I received a reply to the complaint from Idea Customer Care for details. Then I shared details of the Pre-Paid number. After 4-5 working days Idea Customer Care person called and said that your queries have been resolved and my number started working.

    I bought a new idea sim card on 20.10.2014. still it is not activated. help me... my sim number [protected].
    I have purchased a new prepaid SIM. I have received a message informing me that my SIM is ready for activation and that I should call 59059. However, there is no network and am unable to make any call from the idea sim (obviously it has not been activated yet.) When I called 59059 from an airtel No. a recorded message directed me to call another number for airtel help. When I tried calling the number from a landline, the call would not go through. What can I do to get the SIM activated?
    I have seen that many other customers are facing similar problems.
    If IDEA is unable to activate its SIMs it should immediately stop selling the SIM cards.
    I am waiting today. If I am unable to activate the SIM I have paid for by this evening, I will check with every authority of the Government of India to ensure that this sort of treatment of customers by a company is not permitted.
    It is is not possible to activate the SIM. please arrange to refund my money and I will purchase a SIM from another company. Otherwise I will seek compensation and damages for harassment.

      I Brajesh kumar singh inform that u .i am purchase a idea sim number is ([protected]) .i am lost my sim . the idea number is issue on my name.so i talk to gaurav kumar regarding issue of duplicate sim .But his behaviour is very rude ,He say to me i am not sitting here for social work you may go now anywhere and purchase another company sim.why you sitting here getout from here.I am talk to him through an idea retail outlet kankarbagh(near shalimar sweets).the person who sit an idea outlet he say to me plz talk to my boss he can solve your problem.Its not a customer relationship management .I am say again and again his behaviour is not good.he behave like a rude person .he behave like all in all in the company.So i send this mail to you the way he is talking i think any person not take any action against him in patna region. plz sir take this matter personally.I aspect lot more to your side .

        i am a idea prepaid coustmer and my cell no is [protected], sir its a demo card i have a many peopal who regularly use the service o[censored]nlimited night calling by recharge of rs 96. but before some time we hear there have a some changis in that skim. there is just a 1000 minute free in night thats a very bed news for me &them...!
        sir... all of they want to leave our compney and they r going to reliance gsm for just problem of night calling.., so pls pls sir put a new skim by which they can use unlimited night calling before they r change them cellular compny.

          I had purchased Idea Cellular prepaid number ([protected])..i used this number 1 months, then i went to my native for some work, when i came to thane then i noticed, my cell is not working.I called to idea customer care..they told to recarge with 50rs then your number will automatically start..i reachag with 50rs..then also it is not working. I tried many times to idea customer but now they are telling some other resion..now they have banned my customer care line also..please check in this matter.

            This is regarding my new postpaid connection no. [protected] provided by Idea (nexus services) pitampura in place of old prepaid connection which I am already using i.e.[protected]. Mr. Rahul ([protected]) from Nexus assured by atleast 10 times that I have to pay only 500/- for new connectiona which complete amount reimbursed in my first bill and Idea 'll also provide me call forwarding facility from my prepaid no. to postpaid no. which 'll be totally free of cost.

            After activation of my connection and confirming from Customer care I came to know that they are not providing any above services. I am so much disappointed and shocked after this kind of cheating with an existing idea customers. Now, when I am trying to contact Nexus/Rahul/CustomerCare Delhi, from no where I am getting any satisfied reply. I want to stop this kind of fraud with other customers atleast.

            I was using my idea prepaid for last 3 years and was very much happy with the its service and tariffs. Last week I got a call from Idea (Deepak: [protected]) to convert my prepaid into postopaid, i agreed to pay 500 rs. when i was told that its a plan with monthly rental of Rs. 150 in which my local call rates are 30p and STD 60p, National SMS 30p, All India Roaming free, 200 Calls and 200 SMS free every month and 250 is the activation fee & remaining 250 rs. will be adjusted in my next two bills. But Yesterday when my postpaid SIM got activated, i called IDEA customer care and got to know that some plan with Monthly rental of Rs. 350 has been activated on my no. and there is no such facilities in Plan with monthly rental 150 & those 250rs. will be adjusted to my bill after 2 years. When i lodge a complaint against what happened with me, they gave me a no. ([protected]) to fax the copy of receipt i had, but unfortunately there was no response when i tried that no. several times. I was told that today i'll get a call from Idea to rectify this problem, but when there was no communication from their side. Now, I called them again & requested them to change my plan to any plan with rental below Rs. 200 per month, and now they have told me that it'll be activated by tomorrow evening (though now i wont get any such facilities as promised). Will update whatsoever happens next...
            IDEA should actually take into account such misguidance lead by guys like DEEPAK, who make fake promises just for their commissions. As my friends are also getting calls very often now a days so it may be a campaign started by IDEA to convert prepaid into postpaid consumers and without any doubts, is making huge profits by cheating consumers but soon everyone will come to know about this fraud & im sure idea will lose in the long run.

                recently idea cellular acquired me as a new customer . before going to idea they informed me that i will be their valuable customer . So i clearly told them that i dont want any service interuption. on 13th they sent me a letter in which they mentioned that my credit limit is just Rs 500. and on 16th morning at 9.45 send me a message that i ahve crossed my credit limit . They also didn't send me any bill. At 11am they barred my sms and call too. i tried to pay their bill through net also but their site was going under maintanance so i couldn't pay. i called at their customer care any time .complain ids are 85959181, 85962883, 85967253, 85967299... once i got free in eve then i went to pay at their store at sec 14 , gurgaon outlet . Their i came to knw that that shop is closed for last 2 days... in entire day i mailed at their customer care id (grievance.[protected]@idea.adityabirla.com). i requested them for a feed back call . but they didn't do that also . Now i want a legal action on idea cellular from consumer forum . I will present all the evidence once i will be asked . Kdly take proper action ....

As i am in roaming area(Gujarat) so i haven't used my number for 2 months. but through out these days my number was in active state, but now it says Sim card registration failed.                           I received a message from IDEA (when I checked my balance) that I can get unlimited GPRS plan for Rs 89 per month. However, when I sent a request for its activation, I received further details that only certain parts of internet browsing are covered under unlimited plan and I still have to pay for normal internet browsing.

                          I immediately asked them to NOT activate this service. They still activated this service after 2 days, and deduct amount from my account. When i asked for immediate deactivation, even then they said that they will not refund this money.

                          This company is doing a big LOOT.
                          Its quite true, if they are truly providing unlimited GPRS, then they should do it by providing the 30 days validity coupon, not to call customer care. This card is not available at any shop. Better they provide 30 days validity coupons for unlimited GPRS, its a false announcement...
                          what is the prosses to get the 89 gprs plan & what type the msg shouled be send

After that on my ID they will issues FRAUD connection to other person on same my ID.

                            Same incident happen to me. I am afraid from them to use my ID in FRAUD issuing connection on my ID.

                                Hi, I am Neha Pandey

                                I got a call from Idea call center on 21st of July 2008(or 22nd) from phone number +[protected] around 1:30 - 2:00 pm from Aakash regarding a prepaid scheme.

                                Scheme Was;

                                On Paying Rs 500

                                1. 1000/- local talk time to any other network
                                2. 1000 local messages
                                3. 100 /- STD talk time
                                4. Call rates will be 49 paisa/Min. for local calls and 99 paisa/min for STD calls
                                5. Valid for next 6 months

                                Sales executive from idea came to my office on 24th July 2008 around 2:45pm. He filled up the form and took Rs.500/- from me. The form number is 1065798. He gave me a receipt in the name of

                                "IDEA CELLUAR LIMITED
                                DELHI CIRCLE OFFICE A-30, MOHAN CO-OPERATIVE INDUSTRIAL ESTATE, NEW DELHI-44"

                                and he assured to activate the plan in next 24hrs.

                                Since then my plan is not activated. and i have made several calls to customer care. The response i get from them is "Sorry we cannot help you or it is DSA problem". I was shocked to get such kind of reply from my service provider's customer care whose service I am availing for the last 3 years. On further inquiry i also got to know that it wasn't a prepaid but a post paid scheme. This is was the second fraud. All the customer care executive and even senior managers that i have spoken to have been very rude and unhelpful.

                                This is how they have taken my money by fraud and now when I want them to return my money they are harassing me by shouting at me. They think they can get away with this kind of fraud by making their pitch high. When they are not able to sell their product, they are trying to do it by fraud. They are trying to force the customer to take there product by hook or by crook. This entire episode has really wasted my time as well as mental peaces along with my hard earn money. Now I need your guidance and help to recover my money and to get out of their trap. At the same time I would like people to know that these companies with such big names are doing such disgraceful thing. There are people who don’t fight and just surrender in front of such impolite customer care executive and their high pitch, shouting voice however I want people to stand against such incidents and bring them in to light.
                                I hope I have come to the right forum and hope to get my money back.

                                Dear Sir / Madam,

                                This mail is to file a complaint against Idea Cellular from Aditya Birla group for trying to sell me a post-paid connection first by fraud and then by force.

                                I got a call from Idea call center on 21st of July 2008(or 22nd) from phone number +[protected] around 1:30 - 2:00 pm. A call center executive named Akash asked me my name and told me that he is from Idea and wanted to tell me about a postpaid plan that their company had launched. Explaining the scheme he told me that they will take 500/- from me once and then for next 6 months they will give me 1000/- local talk time to any other network, 1000 local messages and 100 /- STD talk time. The call rates will be 49 paisa/Min. for local calls and 99 paisa/min for STD calls. They will put this amount in my balance at the start of every month for the next 6 months. I asked him whether it is a post-paid plan or pre-paid plan as I am using their pre-paid plan for last 3 years and not interested in a postpaid connection. The executive (Akash) confirmed me that it is indeed a pre-paid plan. The he informed me that to avail this scheme I need to fill up a form and give 500/- along with an identity proof. He also told me that I need to come to their A-30, Mohan Cooperative industrial Estate(Delhi) office to fill up the form. I told him that Mohan cooperative is too far and I can not come there. He suggested that in such case they will send an executive, who will get the form filled by me and will collect the money. I asked him to call me the next day so that I could gather all my queries and then confirm him whether I need the plan or not. He agreed to give me the call.

                                The same executive (Akash) called me a day later. I asked him my other doubts regarding the plan like what if I exhaust my 1000 /- talk time before the month end, he said I can get any other recharge coupon for top-up until I get my next month balance activated. Then I asked him my second doubt about roaming. I asked him when I will be on roaming from where will they deduct the charges, he said that will be deducted from my 1000/- local charge, however the call rate will be as per the roaming charges. Then I confirmed with him again that 1000/- talk time for local charges is for any network or just Idea-to-Idea? In reply to this he confirmed that it is to any local network. I had asked him this query the day before as well (during the first call he made to inform me about the scheme). All this conversation made it very clear that we are talking about a pre-paid connection; still I confirmed again that it is a pre-paid scheme and not post-paid. He confirmed it to me that it is a pre-paid scheme. I asked him to send the executive and asked him what will he give me as a proof of that form and the money? He told me that the executive will give me a customer copy of the form and it will have the amount I have paid mentioned on the slip. I told him that I am available in my office in Gurgaon. It was 24th July 2008, Thursday. He took my office address from me. I got a call the same day around 2:45 from the same executive(Akash) and he said that the person they have send to my office is some where near by my office and they wanted me to tell him the exact location of the office so that he could reach quickly. He connected me to the executive who had come to get the form filled. I told him the route. Once he reached, he again contacted me through the call center executive to inform him that he has reached my office and I could meet him. I went to meet him. I again confirmed the scheme from the executive who had come to get the form filled. He filled the form for me and mentioned the scheme on the form. The form serial number is 1065798. He wrote 500/- cash in the activation charges column on the form (put (took) the activation charge as 500/- cash). While he was filling the form I asked him that this is a pre-paid scheme or not, he said it is a pre-paid scheme. Finally at the end I asked him when they will activate my scheme, he said in 24 hrs.
                                At the same time a colleague of mine wanted some information on post paid connection so I asked the same executive if he could assist my colleague with the post-paid information. The executive said that he will connect us to the same call center executive Akash and he will provide us the information we have asked. He connected us to Akash. My colleague asked him about the scheme. That executive said that he can provide the same scheme (the one they have given me on pre-paid) on post-paid to my colleague though he need to pay a rental charges of 99 /- per month. Then he explained the same scheme to my colleague. That left us with no doubt that mine is a pre-paid scheme. The executive promised me to get my scheme activated in 24 hr. I asked him what if it doesn’t get activated; he said I can call up at the customer care and asked them to check the status. After that he left.

                                Next day was Friday and I waited for my scheme to get activated in vain. I decided to wait for another day. When I didn't get my service activated till 27th July (Sunday) I called up the customer care to inquire. An executive Seema attended my call. After explaining her entire situation first thing she said is "We can not help you" I was shocked to get such kind of reply from my service provider's customer care whose service I am availing for the last 3 years. The way she spoke to me was very rude. She was literally talking to me as if I have run away with her money instead of her company's representative. She started saying that some fraud has been done to me. I was very sure of that number from which I had got the call for the scheme as earlier also they have called me from the same number to inform me about their schemes. I also told her that I have the original receipt of Idea. After trying very hard she agreed to give me address of some customer care center where I could go and show that receipt and then they'll see whatever they want to do with that. She also informed me that it is closed on Sunday so I couldn't get it done the same day. I decided to go the next day which was a Monday.

                                Next day I got the call from the same number +[protected]. So I got sure that it was not a fraud done by some outsider but from the Idea people only. I asked that executive that they didn’t activate my scheme and I even called at their call center to inquire. On that note he said that he has called me today to confirm about he activation of the scheme only. That gave me a bit relief. But then when I asked him to activate the scheme he started asking me to where to deliver my new SIM. At that I asked him why is he giving me a new SIM when I already have a SIM? I only want to get my scheme activated. On this he said that it is not a pre-paid scheme and is a post-paid scheme. Hence they will give me a new SIM. I told them that I had confirmed this 3 times with there executive whether it is a pre-paid or post-paid scheme. Only after making it sure I have gone for this scheme. I also told him that I got call from Idea so many times to get a Post-paid connection but I always refused as I don't want a post-paid connection. But despite of helping with my problem the executive started saying that I will have to take this scheme only and started arguing. I denied to take this forceful connection and asked for my money back, in reply to which he said that he wouldn’t return my money and that is non-refundable. After his arguing more I finally thought to use that connection for a month. But then when I asked him to repeat the scheme he told me that it is 1000/- Idea-to-Idea calls. This really made me angry that first they tried to sell off their post paid connection by fraud, lying and cheating and they are forcing me to go for another scheme. I asked them to return my money to which they didn’t agree. I asked him to call me again next day to confirm whether I want to get it activated or not meanwhile I would like to talk to there customer care.
                                Next day again he called me from +[protected] and asked me to get it activated and again I refused as I hadn’t had talk to their customer care. At this I asked him what has he done or how else can I proceed. He told me that it is a fraud done by some DSA and he has filed a complaint in their system on my behalf from their Mohan Cooperative office.
                                I called at the customer care and explained my case to them. In reply to that their executive started saying that Madam isn't it your duty (the word used by her was "Farz") to call the customer care first and confirm whether we have such scheme or not. Then I told her that I have been getting calls from that number since very long and I am very sure that the number is of Idea and I even checked the originality of the form, now how else can I be sure whether the person is from Idea or not, and anyway by then I already knew that the person was from Idea indeed. I requested her to make me talk to some senior if she is not able to help me. First she didn't agree to it and started saying that it is a post-paid scheme and we handle pre-paid customer care so we can't help you. I still requested her that I am a pre paid customer, I don’t have any post paid connection or land line through which I can get in touch with their post-paid customer care so kindly connect me to some senior executive who could help me this. After requesting 3-4 times she said that she will transfer the call but ultimately my call was dropped. I called up again and some other customer care executive picked up the call. I explained him how I have already called few minutes back and have explained the whole scenario to some other executive and she couldn’t help me through that and requested him to transfer my call to some senior executive. This executive asked me to explain the entire story to him rather than transferring the call. I again told him all the events that I have written till now in my mail. He also started telling me that he can not help me with this as he is a pre-paid customer care and I need to call a post-paid customer care. I explained him how I can not call at Post-paid customer care. In reply to which he said (in his literal words) my asking him about his problem is “like calling at Idea and asking about Hutch schemes". To which I asked him then how come their executive can do something "like calling from Idea and giving Hutch information?” After much arguing with me he finally agreed to transfer my call to their senior. Then after keeping me on hold for 2-3 minutes he returned back and said that his senior has refused to talk me to and has said that he can not help me. I insisted to him that I still want to talk to the senior. Finally I got through some senior executive. I again explained the entire story for the 3rd time. He also said that it is done by the DSA and Idea can’t not do any thing. I asked him the company has given the DSAs the authority to speak on the company's behalf, so whenever the DSA is saying something the customer is tend to take it as the word from the company and ultimately the company is responsible for any fraud done to the customer. After much discussion that senior told me to get the information of the DSA and said that only after that they can take some action. He suggested me to ask them to deliver the SIM to me and at the time to delivery ask the executive to provide me with the details of the DSA. He told me that they can check from the SIM identification number that to which DSA the SIM was allocated. He said once they have the details of the DSA, then I can ask them to not to activate the SIM and refund my money. I took his advice and waited for the call from the person to confirm about the delivery of the SIM.
                                I got the call (this time from a different number) to confirm about the delivery of the SIM. I asked them to deliver and asked them who will deliver the SIM, is it going to be the same person who came to get the form filled. In reply to this the executive on call said they are going to get it delivered by some courier service. I refused to take it and said that I need the details of the DSA who has done the fraud. At this node he started telling me that the DSA sends the requests to some center and from there the Idea people get the request and he can not provide the DSA information. I asked him I understand that they do not interact with DSA directly but there has to be some way by which they can track the DSA. Despite of replying to my query he started shouting at me that didn’t I listen that there is something between him and the DSA. Is this the way customer care people are supposed to talk to their customer? When I am talking to him politely, despite of them bugging and harassing me since last 10 days, and trying to get away with my money by fraud, he is shouting at me? Is that what is expected out of the customer care.
                                This is how they have taken my money by fraud and now when I want them to return my money they are harassing me by shouting at me.                                   I have been running pillar to post - only to get abused from your customer care executives and manager. Particularly - One of the Customer care managers - Neetu Kapoor - was only too helpful to tell me to "Get Lost".

                                  Well - Before I really do get lost and suggest same to my freinds who are subcribed to Idea Subscribers - I think I could share my experience to get it resolved as a dying attempt to mend things.

                                  I also recorded one of the conversations where one of the executives was "obviously" harsh - I will be only too willing to share it. (I might consider using it with appropriate authorities - since Idea Lawyer too called me up).

                                  Let me summarize the Issue and details:

                                  Rate Plan Easy 998 2 yrs - NEW -> FORCEFULLY UPGRADED BY RETENTION TEAM

                                  I started with Idea Subscription for Rs. 699/- (Six Hundred Ninety Nine Only) - Add to it I also paid Rs 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred Fifty Only) - Total Amount paid : 1449 (One Thousand Four Hundred Forty Nine only).

                                  Soon after - I had network problems - I called up and requested that my Idea Subscription be cancelled - I was transferred to Retention Cell - Where I was told if I moved to Rs.998.00 plan - my network problems will be all gone - I bought that.

                                  But switching plans hardly made any difference. But at least now I know I was screwed.
                                  I tried contacting Idea Customer care - but only to be abused.

                                  As per the last chat i had yesterday with one retention guy ,He listened my all issues and finally told me that we can do one thing that reverse your 998 plan and rest of the money you need to pay. after long discussion i agreed and did the same thing. I paid 700 Bugs but again your great guys ..when i paid this money they informed that no one talk to you and no update from that retention guy.

                                  Now this is not acceptable at all. when I request them to transfer my call to senior they told me in a bad way that u need to pay whole amount and then only we can activate your account.

                                  I request you to audit all incoming and outgoings on [protected] yesterday so that you can see the real picture of your guys.

                                  I was never been comfortable with ur network and truly speaking i didn't want to pay you that 700 bugs too....also the advance payment i given u thats also not fare.

                                  Hoping for quick response and a call at least because i have several issues apart from this with you guys from sales to billing etc..

                                  Just feeling bad about those customers who don't have net on their home.

                                  on dated 11.09.2009 i took a new connection from idea with family connection No-[protected] after the clarification of Mr.Aryan he cleared to me your new connection Idea to Idea fr 10paisa. but your new connection stay at out station please send ROAM and send to 50505 to avoid roaming charges after this my new connection kept at haryana. but my new received charges of rs 1.50 Paisa per min in this case i cannot bear this and also in this regard Mr. Aryan and Mr. Gourav Misguide to me and harased me after the clarification which was asked by me...                                     This is to bring to your kind notice that i (idea customer) got a call from no. [protected] dated[protected] at 12:34 pm .The person who called,said that he is from idea and told me that i have become a lucky customer under which i will be provided with free gprs service with deduction of Rs. 20 daily which i continued refusing till the last .

                                    Further he said that this service will be activated only when i send a message "SET" to a given no. which again i didn't do.Inspite of this Rs.20 has been deducted from my balance and will be deducted daily till my balance finishes off.

                                    When i got to know about the deduction First i called customer care from where i didn't get any positive response .the only way i was left with was to email you for redressal of my grievances .

                                    Kindly look into the matter as soon as possible.so that i can remain connected with idea.

                                    i recharged Rs 66 for making 60 paisa /min STD call on 3 oct.09 at 11:55 am.
                                    and i gotconfirmation msg from idea that is your A/c has been sucessfully recharge.
                                    after that i made a call to my friend (vodafone Delhi) but still i charged for Rs 1.50/-.
                                    also i called customer care 3 times but they didnt gives any satisfactory answer to me and they directly disconnect my phone without solving my problem. and their way of talking is very harsh.
                                    i think idea got many customer they didnt required to increase their customer base.

                                    Idea Prepaid — My 10 rs deducted for a service which i didn't subscribe for

                                    The mentioned service provider initiated a service w/o my knowledge and started deducting money from my prepaid account. They deducted 10 rs till i got to know about the deduction and disable the service. When asked for refund, i was plainly told not possible by their call centre executive and even through the mail.

                                      receiving of massages after DND activation

                                      I'm a costumer of Idea celluler company since 2005 ([protected]) and I have also activated DND service in 2005. after that I have received so many promotion massagies. I have complaint every time to the company. company always told me that I have mail to that particular company But still I'm receving promotion massage.
