I have already tell to customer care 5 to 6 times to send my bills on times but they donot do that. I have also submitted my application to the customer care and register the complaint but there is no action has been taken by the company .

But Bobby not Sent proof Company H.O . I going to Shoeroom Two days Later Bobby Says me ur Connection Start On 72 Hours. I Wait but no Progress. I going to Next day Bobby Says me ur Id not Clear. IOnce Again i Submit Proof But Connection no Start . Plz Quickly Action for Him.

Idea Cellular claims to have 12345 as their toll free number to access consumer services related issues of their customers.

Today, 28th Oct I dialled the number and as usual it was responded only by IVRS system.
(Press 1, Press 2 Etc).
In the five options that were given by IVRS, there is not a single option to register customer complaint.

On the website also same number is mentioned and no other way to access Idea Customer Care.

The company staff seems to have developed an opinion that their customer have no complaint at all.

sir this is to complaint against idea cellular, that i have purchased a new idea connection before 1 year ago.
i was using that number for last one year. but on one day my sim card got blocked and i visited to idea showroom, then i was told that, the number which i was using was not registered under my name and they cannot replace my sim card.
bye registering this complaint, i request you to please help me in changing my number id proof and help me to get my sim card replaced.

Dear Sir,

I am a consumer of IDEA Cellular Ltd , since many years with mobile no [protected] of WEST UP and since last few months I have observed that I am being cheated and may be other consumers too who are in Post paid scheme and using GPRS at monthly rental scheme.

I am using IDEA GPRS since many years and in past I was using Rs. 500/- per month unlimited usage of GPRS. But later I changed it to Rs.199/- per month Plan with 0.01 Paisa per kb in day time and from 10.00 PM to 6.00 AM Free Plan but my usage was more so I got it changed again to Rs. 500/- per month Plan but this time I was told that now it is as follows : Rs. 500/- Rent per month for 100 MB of GPRS Usage Free & After that it will be charged as Rs.5/- per MB and I received a E- Mail of the same from Customer Care stating this. But after few days I saw that my outstanding (Unbilled amount was raising like hell) it came up to Rs.3800/- just in 8-9 days after my billing date, I was shocked as my services were Barred by the my service provider IDEA. Then I contacted Grievances Cell & there Mr. Akhilesh assured me that he will help me in sorting out this issue but I have to Deposit Rs. 1000/- then only my services would be Unbarred then I did same & again on 3rd day my Unbilled Amount raised & my services were barred and when I asked why my unbilled amount is rising so high to Mr. Akhilesh in Grievances, he told me after consulting there guys that the Billing done in GPRS is like making voice calls. If I will use GPRS once and I use to for 10 kb also then also I will be charged Rs.5/- for these 10 KB of GPRS usage and I was shocked to know that how we are being cheated by them. As I have confirmed from other states also that other Operators are only charging Rs.360/- per month for UNLIMITED USAGE of GPRS not as a Call as these IDEA People doing in West UP. There Rent is also very High but I never complained about that but these charges are even much higher than .01 Paisa Per KB. I raised complaint to Grievances & customer care but they replied that there Billing is accurate and there is nothing wrong in it and my Bill amount was of Rs. 6594.70 of period 16th Feb’09 To 15th Mar’09 in which GPRS usage charges are of Rs.4965/- excluding Taxes & other charges.


This was very shocking sir as no where in India it is being charged like that & also the consumer is made aware of this information that you will be billed like this. The plans in pre paid are of Rs. 20/- per day for Unlimited usage that is Rs.600/- for a Month then how they can charge like this to post paid customers sir.


You can inquire about the rate Plans of All Operators in all states and then you will come to know that how the consumers are being cheated by IDEA – West UP.

I am attaching my Last Bill for your kind Reference as an Example and your ready reference & records and please register my complaint and do the needful as this incident has harassed me a lot mentally & in monetary issue too.


As you are my last hope who can resolve my complaint as no one in IDEA even at higher level bothered to reply to my mail even. I have attached the Bill in attachments for your kind reference.

Till date they are not ready to adjust this amount and raising bill against my no which i am not using now.

What should i do now? They are harassing me un necessarily.

i recharged my no. by 26-10-09 and got my bal. but on next morning my bal. was auto reduced and got negative even when I did not call anyone. I tried to call customer care and heard the sound that this facility is not available at my phone. Can u help me in solving such griviencies.

This is to inform you that i bought a Idea postpaid connection on 3rd of october 09, and the verification of the address was been done by 11th of october 09, and the number was started. But after few days it was again deactivated dew to the negetive verification. When asked they dint answered why it was deactivated. After that I went to the Idea Care, Central Market , Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi to get information about it, they said that again verification will be done , and I requested them that I have to go out of station so plz make it urgently. They said that it will be done that day itself. After that no verification was done by them . after that for 3 consecutive days I went to them but still no action was taken about it after that an officer of that idea care activated the number and assured me that my number has been put in the exclusion period and will not be closed till 2nd or 3rd of november . no complaint is taken by the idea customer care and no action is been taken and i m facing a lot of problem by this and i am fedup of this .
So plz take a serious action against it

because that is start without my acknowledage and i more try customer care but their is not any connectivity available .so ,please take this my complaint seriously ,and stop my gprs service as soon as possible ,otherwise taken a law action against company

Dear Sir,

Myself Mr. Manoj Ahire from Nashik, Mobile No. [protected], activated GPRS internet facility on my mobile and used for two days @ max 4 to 5 hours. Today (26/10/09) cross checked the unbilled amount, which shows @ 2300 Rs. whereas for last five six months the maximum bill amount is 500 Rs.

Means for two days of internet surfing, Idea charged me @ 1800 Rs. which is equivalent to 3-4 months of subscription charges for fast broad band connection with unlimited usage. Moreover the usage speed of idea is dam slow and how they can charge such a huge bill amount.

Requesting you to look into the Idea cheating case, I am ready to pay the fare billing amount for internet usage not the cheating amount.

Some days before i found activated dialer Tones on My idea Mobile Number [protected], whereas i have not activated it. I don't want to use this service. So Please deactivate this service on my number.
And i also request you to Stop the call center calls or sms on this number.

Sir, I want to make SMS. but every time when i make it, it gets failed. what is the problem? with this.

Please solve my these problems as soon as possible, after 2 days i will go to Consumer court if you donot take any action.

I have been using idea my gang service for three years and now they stopped my gang service I bought this mobile sim sum of Rs.270 while i could buy normal sim @90 Rs.at that time. The incident was that i went to durg(chattisgarh) idea sent me message (Power pack Rs 23 me 1 saal tak Local aur STD calls 50p/min.Lene k liye dial *150*23#.) and I recharched this power pack on date 22/10/2009. Now my all call rates are flat and they stopped my gang service. According to my gang service I could send sms @10p and all local calls 50p/min and I couldn't use that service 5p.m. to 10p.m. According to this service idea detuct 1Rs/day so last month i recharded 180 Rs tarrif plan and idea stopped detuction of 1 Rs. When i asked in customer care why did you stop my gang service they told me now you are our life long customer and we stopped your my gang service but they did'nt mention in sms that after 23 recharched i will be a life long customer then i told them i don't want this service i just want my old service but they implimented this service and my sim @270 and [protected]@180Rs tariff they all useless now. I lost my Idea sim card in a train journey. The sim card is of Kerala. But I am not in Kerala right now. So I sent a mail to idea service center to kindly block the sim. But they are refusing to do so although I am ready to give my full details to them. They are saying that they do not provide the service of blocking the sim. So the option left for me is to get a duplicate sim card for the same number. and for doinng the same I will be charged some Rs. 150/-
How can I get another sim if I am not in the state. If some illegal thing happens from the mobile I will not be responsible for that. I request idea to please block the sim. Just for the sake of not loosing a coustmer they are trying to bind me.

i am extinng customer of idea mobile company my pre paid mobile no. [protected]. i purchase idea sim on date 16 oct 2009 and deposit required formalities to the retailer on 7:30pm on same day. after 2-2.5 hr my sim is activeted. i purchase the plan 1paisa per second. the retailer says there is no hidden charges u will pay 75 rs for skim and 25 rs for balance. i got 25.67 rs as balance but on date 18 oct 2009 when i call on a STD no. balance left in my account is 21.66 rs. yet it is my first call and call timing is 68sec and call charges show by your service is 1.08 rs. So tell me what is the actual skim of your company. why are retailer hidden this charges and cheats the customer. and today my mobile services on hold. although i have been deposited all documents to the retailer. if retailer not work properly then it is not customer duty. its your responsibility. why customer suffer? due to your and your retailer i m suffering from many problems. please activate my sim immediatly. its not my fault consern to your retailer.

After hearing a lot about the services and reputation of Idea Cellular Services, I became its customer bearing Mobile Number [protected].

Since then, all hell broke loose, as this Idea connection, which is supposed to add to my convenience, has become a thorn in my flesh.

Recently, on 20/10/09, I received a message to download a particular caller tone, which I ignored. But to my utter chagrin, without any consent from my side, the particular caller tune got activated and an amount of Rs.35 was deducted from my amount without any intimation.

I immediately contacted Idea Customer Care and as guided by the voice message, I de-activated the caller tune, which was forcefully thrust on me.

Though the caller tune was de-activated, the amount (Rs.35) has not been credited to my account.

Further, on 23/10/09, again without any intimation, another called tune got activated.

In addition to the above woes, there is another perennial headache, i.e., I am flooded with a continuous stream o[censored]nsolicited calls and messages.

Before becoming a customer of Idea, we have heard many positive things about the company, but now we are repenting the fact that we have subscribed to this cellular company.

This is not only the case with me, as the complaints against Idea Cellular bear ample testimony to the fact that there are innumerable complaints of similar nature.

As such, I implore Idea Cellular Services to immediately,

i) stop this practice of thrusting caller tunes without any intimation or without any rhyme or reasons and deducting amount unauthorisedly.

ii) restore my original caller tune and credit the amount of Rs.35 unauthorisedly deducted from me for the unsolicted caller tune.

iii) cease all unsolicited calls and messages giving many unwanted offers, which are flooding day & night (even at odd hours), causing untold agony and disturbance.

Such irresponsible acts from Idea cellular Company doesn't augur well as far as the reputation and good will of the company is concerned and it will be in the interests of the company to immediately put an end to all such mischief.

I myself being a consumer activist, in case my grievances mentioned at (i), (ii) & (iii) are not redressed immediately, I will be constrained to knock the doors of appropriate legal fora, so that necessary justice is meted out to me.

The matter may be treated as TOP PRIORITY please.

my no is [protected]. once i activated daily rental 25rs plan for mobile internet. customer care people told that it will take 24 to 48 hrs time and also that i will get message. so far i did not get any message. suddeny my balance went to negative . when i asked them , they told that i have activated mobile internet.


worst service. worst customer care response. simply they are wasting time and robbing money.

I am using Idea Cellular facilities vide No.[protected]. I have balance amount of Rs.38.68 as on 16.10.2009, but on next day I recd. a message the your caller tune has been activiated (without my knowledge) and balance has gone down to Rs.0.68. The caller Tune given by them was also very awkward and not at all preferable by any housewife. I have tried to contact the Idea people for this unwanted caller Tune and deduction of Rs.38, but could not do so. This is second time they are deducting money showing invalid reasons. I have not selected any caller Tune and even if I select a caller tune, then I never prefer such awkward caller tunes.

Please do the needful and would speak to concern people of Idea Cellular immediately.

Today I have recharged my wife's prepaid cell with 699.00 through online on Ideacellular.com . But no talk time is getting added and customer care is saying that this recharge for 699.00 will only give you one month Internet Access. But last month my wife got a call from customer care and they told that if you recharge for 699.00 you will get full talk time & one month internet access.

I want to get the money back or convert this 699.0 amount to the talktime.

When she spoke to customer care they were talking very rudely to her. This was not expected with such a reputed company.

I have a prepaid idea connection. I started receiving messages everyday that Rs 20 has been deducted from my balance for GPRS. I tried calling customer care several times but my call kept getting disconnected each time I reached the point where I had to dial zero for cust care. This was after I had to endure listening to several useless Ads before reaching the various sub menus to speak to customer care. I

I tried deactivating through SMS and received a sms that it will be deactivated 5 days later which meant that for the next 5 days Rs20 will be deducted everyday !!

I finally got through customer care. They said that I had 'apparently' called them on Sept 26 to activate GPRS. When I told him that I never made such call, the customer care guy started raising his voice and asked me how I can say that I never made the call?? I in turn asked him what proof do I have that a call was made by anyone from my side asking for a GPRS activation?

When I asked them for the call information the guy on the phone said he cannot give me the details and i have to visit idea branch for this...in short I will have to go through a lot of hassle and trouble for details of a call which i'm 'supposed' to have made myself.

My point is that how can any activation or deactivation be made without any written communication via sms? As a general rule, any additional or new subscription is always verified first by sending the verification sms or mail to the number or email id registered with the service provider in order to eliminate spam or even a notification sms will do to the mobile no of the user.

In this case telecom companies like IDEA can themselves exploit the consumer by activating these schemes knowing that 99% would not bother to go in to find out further details on how their activation was done.

I request that the matter please be taken up to make it a rule that any activity done by the company must have a written notification and approval by the consumer at least via sms which is simple and will save consumers from being harassed.
