I have been a customer of Indiaplaza for 7-8 years now (actually, from the days it was called Fabmall). I mainly shop for books. I used to be a happy customer, until 2 years back.
Last 2 years, their services have been going through a steady deterioration, and now I have to say that Indiaplaza is an absolutely pathetic online shop. I have decided to discontinue shopping from this place. The main problems I see are:
- Their inventory database seems like totally out of date. You see a lot of books listed in the website saying "will ship in 3 days" etc, giving attractive discounts, and will buy some of them. But the book will not reach you within 3 weeks also, and there will be no update sent to you regarding this. If you look at your order status in their website, it will still show "Ready to Ship" or "Will ship on x/y/z" for a date which might have passed long time back. They will just block your money, and after many weeks, they will say they are unable to procur the book and refund the amount.
- They may send you incorrect items. For example, if you bought a highly priced hardbound version of the book, they will probably send you the low cost paperback edition. If you look your order history in the website, you will just see the name of the book, and there wont be any links to the product in their database. So, you will not have any proof regarding the actual purchase you made, and will be unable to dispute.
- You can try to contact the customer service regarding the above issues, and can register a "ticket" online. They will say that the issue will be resolved/responded by x/y/z date. But you will not here from them by this date or even after many days or weeks. The ticket status would continue to show as "will be responded by x/y/z date".
