Sub: Suggestion to improve the services
I had booked reservation journey ticket no 16317324 with PNR no J 15170234 for a return journey from Sringeri to Coimbatore on 16/01/2010. We were on our onward journey to Sringeri on 13th night reaching Sringeri on 14th Jan 2010.
Here I must appreciate the conductor of the Bus who enquired about our travel plan, and gave us good suggestions to carry out our trip. Since our travel plan was altered we wanted to board the bus at Hassan on 16th instead of Sringeri. He guided us to contact the office in front of the Temple. There we met Mr Preetham and requested for the change of boarding place and asked him whether we should give an written application. He had noted the seat numbers in a note and told us that our request will be acceded and we can board at Hassan. When I insisted that he can give the remark in the bus ticket to avoid any confusion later, He said that when the trip sheet is made it will be taken care of and there is no need for any mention In the ticket. In the Sringeri bus stand again I approached the traffic in charge with the same request he again noted the seat numbers and gave the same reply.
After visiting other places when we reached Hassan at about 4.45 pm on 16 Jan, 2010 I contacted the traffic inspector Sri Subbachar to get a confirmation about my boarding status. He guided to me to get in touch with the traffic inspector at platform no 2. When I approached the traffic inspector Sri Manjunath he took us to the reservation counter there and spoke to an official there. Then he contacted Sringeri Bus stand and spoke to them. Then he told me that I will get the reserved seats at Hassan. I was really pleased and thanked him for the good services.
When the bus came at 9 p m at Hassan I contacted the bus conductor with the reserved ticket and asked him about my seats , who in turn told me to board the bus and if other passengers were there to tell them to change the seats. But the fellow passengers refused to oblige. Not only that , even a passenger commented, Reserve maduthanthe Gadi nee appan manaya. That shows how much regard a reservation is treated in the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. Even the words of the traffic inspector could not yield any result, except that we got two seats for the ladies. When the bus started my wife said in anguish what is the use of reserving the seats when we had to be standing passengers. To that the conductor started in a abusive tone, probably emboldened by the fellow passengers earlier remark, that there are no rules for him to allow us to board us in Hassan, since we have not boarded the bus at Sringeri since he had no information, and it is because of his mercy that we were allowed to board.
I infer the following from the above:
1 When we have approached your sringeri office we could have been told that change of boarding place is not permissible. Even NO is a decision, where we could have made alternative plans.
2 In the technical advancement of today if the change of boarding is permitted an entry could have been made so as to incorporate the change in the trip sheet
3 Even after the confirmation from Hassan, if the conductor has not reserved the tickets for boarding at Hassan there is a communication gap, for which the reserved passenger is not responsible.
4 Even a reserved passenger who has paid for his ticket in advance and properly planning his travel has to be at the mercy of the bus conductor, when a travel plan is changed and the request of the passenger is acceded.
I am just bringing this to your notice not to claim compensation or to approach the consumer forum. I strongly feel no legal action can redress the grievance unless the concerned office shows moral courage to accept the mistake committed by its staff.
I suggest in such occasions you can get a written application and give an endorsement on the ticket after the necessary changes are incorporated in the computer. That is why I have not written this letter as a complaint but a suggestion to improve your service.

I am Anilesh from Varkala, Trivandrum district Kerala.I am Physically Challenged Person.I have a 40% disability certificate.My problem is Spina Bifide with scolysis with permanent disability in left leg .Two years ago I applied for Disability pass at Attingal depot.I submitted all the attested copies of the required documents with the application which they ask to submit alongwith.The official told me to come back after two month.After two month when I went to enquire they told me that your application is rejected because this is a case of Cerebral palasy and such patients are not entitled to get any disability pass.I wonder I have seen many people who are travelling with such pass who are not as much as disable like me.If they can get the pass then why not I.Is it a matter of Bribe or something.Should I deposit money in the KSRTC to get my disability pass.I complaint various Official regarding this matter but nothing happened.I even complained in the sutharya keralam but nothing happened.I request you to please look into this matter.

On 24/08/10, my father-in-law had travelled by KSRTC A/C bus which departs from sattelite bus stand (Bangalore) at 10:30am bearing the ticket no:[protected]. The booking was done on 09/08/10 and the transaction ID is [protected]. The sad part of the this travel is, the bus was totally wet and he could not occupy seat no:1 as booked due to the seat completely wet. we requested the conductor to provide us any other seat than the one we have booked due to this problem and had to satisfy with whatever the KSRTC gave. whilst on the way, the bus was having a lot of seepages as well as stinking due to rain and wet seats which made the journey horrible for my father-in-law.
Once there is an option to select the seat while booking on-line, what is the use of selection in such a pathetic bus. We could even travel in a normal bus. but once the company itself is providing us a comfortable journey in an A/C bus charging more money than usual charges, they are liable to provide the facility also, wherein we should be able relax and take a nap, than keeping our fingers over the nose and also putting old newspapers all around to avoid getting our dress wet.
I expect a reply from you as this buses are the face of kerala which makes us to boast in front of others that "see, This Kerala SRTC really amazing" rather than to turn our face and tell " oh! our state is very poor, we cannot afford to maintain buses as we are spending a lot of money for our education as we are 100% literate".

I am a regular traveler in Vaikom - Thodupuzha route.. The behavior of some conductors to the travelers are worst. There are no private buses in our route. If so I prefer to go in that. So they are taking advantage of that.
The road between Vaikom nad Thalayolaparambu is in pathetic condiotion is Pathetic. So rather driving in this route slowly they are driving in the regular speed. This cause the
side walkers and car drivers to get dirt in to their shirt, and into the interiors of the cars.
Sir cant they drive slowly in these roads, the peoples are affraid of seeing KSRTC buses in this route. The KSRTC employess have a thought that they arre the king in the road..

Bus route : Ernakulam to Pathanamthitta via Thiruvankulam, Piravam, Kottayam and Thiruvalla.
Time : Reaches Thiruvankulam @ approximately 6.15 am
I take this particular bus on a regular basis to commute from Thiruvakulam to Thiruvalla. On 30th of October 2010 as usual I was waiting for this particular bus at Thiruvankulam, the bus reached Thiruvankulam late, ie, by around 6.25 AM. There were other passengers also waiting along with me. The driver did not bother to stop the bus, making all o[censored]s fools, the bus went away very fast. The bus was not crowded as well. How could the driver not stop the bus at Thiruvankulam as it being a major stop and so many passengers were waiting there.These kind of behaviors are not expected and appreciated from KSRTC staff as it is for the service of the people. The fellow passengers suffer a lot because of these kind of incidents. I wonder whether any actions are action, if no actions are not taken, request you to look into this matter urgently. I have already dropped complaints in the complaint boxes. This surely has caused lot of inconvenience and I reached the destination an hour late.
My question is why buses are allocated for particular routes if they are not stopping there. If this the case, the bus can have only two stops, one from where the bus starts and one the last stop. I would request you to look into this issue and take immediate and necessary action. So that passengers do not have to suffer like this.
This is a complaint regarding the KSRTC online booking facility available in their website.For people like us who travel from Bangalore to Kerala on weekends, its very difficult to get the tickets unless and until its booked early.Since past few months, I have been trying to book the tickets online through the Kerala State website and all my efforts are in vain.There is a link for online reservation in the website, but hardly it works.Then what is the use of providing such an option?In a city like Bangalore, where there are only 2 booking counters (Majestic and Satellite) for KSRTC, how do they expect people like us living in some other corner of the city to travel a distance of 30 to 40 kms just to book the tickets? I agree, private travels are available, but their rates are exhorbitant for people like us to afford.Because of the very same reason, we are now travelling always by Karnata State Transport Buses, which ply in the same route.Inspite of my repeated mails mentioning this issue to the KSRTC, no reply has been obtained yet.I seriously doubt if its for supporting other private bus travels, that these kind of essential matters are not looked into seriously.If you check the website, all other navigation links are working fine.Then how is it that only this one is not working always? I request you to kindly look into the matter seriously.
iam an engineering student in trichy.i usually goes by changanaserry vellamkanni bus.But one thing than when bus reaches trichy make the long rute peoples to enter in the bus first, provide seat for them if seat is there.most of the peoples from trichy is going to manappara the first stop from trichy 30 rupee point.They makes the seat filled due to this it is difficult to all the long rute people.Please try this to make possible.

My wife with kids were driving in her car on 5th in Poojapura at Trivandrum. A KSRTC city bus (blue colour) dashed through the left side of the vehicle and damaged the car and traumatised my two small kids. They could not note down the depot name of the depot of bus depot number in the shock but my kids managed to note down the bus number. It was KL 15 5900. The car is still in the work shop as the damage was sever. As I know lodging a complaint with police where KSRTC is involved will not heed any purpose and the corporation has let the drivers free, i have not lodged any complaint with police. The saddest part is that the driver of the bus who has wrongfully overtaken the car through left side fled away from the scene without stopping the vehicle. Kindly do something on this and the driver should not be allowed to continue in service as this amounts to a murder attempt and has traumatised my kids and wife.
