subject- lack of cooperation from Sony service center and retailer
I purchased a z1 compact on 13/5/14, from Bangalore India (Retailer-
RIDHI SIDHI MOBILES). The IMEI of the set is[protected]. I
purchased the set from one of Sony's authorized dealers.
On 23rd September 2014, the cellphone stopped working, it over heated
and vibrated non stop for several minutes, the cell was rebooted and
it worked fine for another hour. the phone was lagging, so i restarted
it, only to find it viberating again for several minutes. it did not
start after that. During charging a constant red light was visible.
On 29th September 2014, i visited the service centere, at Kolkata
India. (KALPATARU IT RETAILS PVT LTD). There i learnt my cell phone
suffered water ingesion on on of the ports of the phone. Then i culd
relate that due to usage of the cellphone during rain on 23rd
September that could be a possibility. since my phone was under ADP, i
was told that SONY can help me with the problem as its warranty will
lapse on November 2014.
I wanted to deposit my cell phone there, only to realize that, my
retailer who sold me the cellphone from Bangalore had made a mistake
in writing the IMEI on the bill, because of that i was told to return
with a corrected bill copy.
I immediately contacted my retailer for the changes, he was out of
town and told me it will take him 2-3 days. once i got the copy of the
bill, i had to wait for kolkata's festive season (DURGA POOJA ) to
end as it was a govt holiday, whn the season ended i went to the
service center, the person there did not open my job sheet on the
same day, but instead told will first only send my bill for approval,
i was given no job sheet no written details of that.
few days later due to constant visiting, my phone was taken on 16th
October, and i was given a job number. after almost a moth i got a job
number, for my handset.
On Wednesday 22nd of October, when i called at the service center, i
was told that my ADP claim has been rejected, on the grounds that my
cellphone was activated 2 months before my purchase(MARCH 2014)
because of which my warranty will lapse on September and not on
November, i told at the service center that warranty starts from the
date of purchase, but then i was told that they r company policies,
and only start from the day of cellphone activation.
on speaking to the retailer regarding the activated cell phone he
refuses to admit that it was activated before sale.
Smartphones are not cheap, but the kind of service the company is
providing is very disappointing, no sense of responsibility on the
dealers end or from the service center, because of which i am in such
a situation today.
I would request you to please look into the matter and help me with
it.
