I bought 35+ K 1.5 tons Voltas split AC from Danube company Chennai 2 years back. Though I have not used the AC continuously though I managed to get it serviced every time (Free + paid). Recently in Apr'14 I observed ice formation issue and lodged a service complaint in Voltas call center. Two days later 2 engineers ~18-20 years old visited my place and did the service, took Rs. 650 and assured that the problem is resolved. The same night I observed my AC was packed with Ice (both indoor and outdoor unit) and I raised the complaint again. The same engineers visited my house again, took Rs 275 and changed a capacitor, assured again that it was the problem that they failed to notice and it won't appear again and left. After 2 days, I observed the same issue again and raised the complaint again, this time the same engineers came but I rejected them and then the same day after few hours a new set of engineers attended and after attending the AC they did nothing but said it won't be a problem and in case the problem appear again, they will pickup the entire unit to their service center to do a 2 day observation. Few days later asI observed the same issue, I called them and they picked up my AC unit and told me that I will have to pay for the pickup and drop + cost for any replacement/issue I agreed to it. Two days later they returned the AC with remarks that they haven't observed anything unusual and there is nothing that they can solve during the installation of the unit, I observed that they have deliberately damaged my indoor unit with huge dents, alignment issues in the whole panel I called the service center manager and also the voltas call center to ensure that the panel should be changed as this was their fault and even the engineer who attended the installation said the same. These people took Rs. 615 and left saying that if the issue crop up again, I can call again. Since the installation (7th May'14) I am facing the ice formation almost everyday (I maintain the temperature to 25 C ) and almost everyday, I call the Voltas call center but no one has attended or even bothered to call me once, also after asking the Voltas customer executives several times that I need to talk with senior people or the escalation department, they responded that no one is available and they have arranged a call back for me, till date no one returned. I seriously feel ignored and harassed, we never expect a TATA company to be so irresponsible which is known to be India's company. They have partnered with a third party for customer service (Breezy Air Con) in Chennai with zero quality.
I want the replacements for the damages caused to my indoor unit and a proper resolution to the problem, I am not sure if it was a manufacturing defect as I am not sure if Voltas is a quality company.
