Dear Sir/Madam,

I refer to below mail and subjected ticket reference numbers.

After the below mentioned incidence, while travelling I report to your Nagpur airport office about below incidence and they have assured me that the ticket Ref YGLY1 is cancelled and it will not be charged two times, same they have mentioned in the ticket and shown me remark in your system that this ticket is cancelled, I am attaching herewith copy of ticket with the comments from your executive at Nagpur airport office. I was assured that i will not be charged twice for the duplicate ticket

Thereafter I spoke to credit card people and report them about this incidence and understand that usually airlines/merchant will not claim money for the duplication ticket twice, however if they claim twice we have to pay them as it is out of our control.

Now, after a month I have received my credit card statement and observed that air India has claimed money twice. after speaking to credit card people I understand they are helpless since air India claimed money twice we had to pay them.

Hence I have decided to speak to you ABu Dhabi office as I am residing in Abu Dhabi and have asked me to send an email on [protected]@airindia.in instead of [protected]@airindia.in. Therefore I am coping this mail to both the email ID.

I would request the concern person to look into it urgently and arrange to refund payment against said ticket.

Looking forward for your cooperation.

Thanks and Best Regards.

Subject: Request to refund duplicate ticket charges. Ticket references YGLY1 & YZWLX
To: [protected]@airindia.in

Dear Sir,

I refer to above mentioned booking references. Yesterday (04th April 2011), I had booked ticket for Nagpur - Mumbai - Dubai online for 06th April 2011. While booking online there was an error occurred saying your booking is not completed successfully. Therefore I booked it again successfully and received massage also that your booking is done successfully. Thereafter I checked my given email and found booking confirmation for both the attempts. If you refer to both above references it is clear that all the details such as Name of travelling passenger, flight time and no and date of travelling are same. The duplication of ticket is happened due to error occurred during booking. To rectify this problem i had called your call center and visited your Nagpur office today to rectify this problem they have recommended me to send you mail on this mail ID and request for refund or reverse the transaction on my credit card. Kindly consider this request and arrange to refund the charges of one ticket or reverse the transaction on my credit card.

Please be informed that I am travelling tomorrow on ticket reference YZWLX. I would request you to consider the request for other ticket reference i.e. YGLY1.

Please feel free to call me on [protected] before 07 O’clock tomorrow morning or on my Dubai no. [protected] after tomorrow evening.

Looking forward for your favorable response.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Vijay Dhutale

The Erring pilots of the Air India have to be taught a lesson , i mean by privatising the organisation within no time that is ony ultimate solution to teach them a lesson even though the passengers have not opting the air india nowadays, a day will come where in one day they will be n o where, even the air india is entertaining them, it is a national waste, since the private airlines like jet airways, the kinfgisher etc providing a clean, excellent service, the air india have not learnt a lesson is there any middle man involved in this , it is very clear that the only solution is to sack all the pilots and privatise it , why the govt is not doing that, it means the middleman involed , even the politicians are involved, it the great indians means we the passenger s only have to teach a lesson by not heaven sake not flying in this dirty airways, since the other countries coming forward to operate flight with good service and better rates in India, coming to the services, the toilets, the seats etc are so dirty in
Air India, several times the cabin crews used to misbehave with the passengers they don't have a minimum manners also since it is a govt organization and hence the job safety, security they are behaving like rogues, the time has come to sack these culprits and make privatize, and penalize them from their salaries, then they will understand, since younger generation from the private airlines are best masters to teach them, how to handle , and behave with the pasne5rs, , millions of rupees wastage because of theese national burden pilots, staffs of the airi India now the time has come to Take the necessary action . why the govt and the ministry of civil aviation is not taking action it is shows clearly that there is commission, middleman involved it is great, Indian drama, the corruption, what Anna hazare can do for this,

i was to travel from air india flight no. AI765 from kolkata to chennai on 27th april 2011. at around 4.00p.m when i was about to leave for the airport i got a message on my mobile that the flight has been cancelled and please call the customer care for other travel arrangements. when i called the air india customer care they confirmed me that the flight has been cancelled and they can shift me to the next day flight to chennai. i told them that it is urgent for me to fly to chennai today itself then they said that they can only refund the full amount in that condition. i had no choice left other than purchasing a new ticket with the other airline. after reaching the airport i bought a new ticket with the indigo airlines with an increased fare of Rs. 1500 compared to my air india ticket. then i went to the air india ticket counter for the cancellation of my ticket where i came to know that they are shifting the passengers to the spice jet airlines. i told the duty manager that this information was not been given to me in the customer care so that i would not have purchased the new ticket with the Indigo airlines. they just listened to it and had no reply. i want the reimbursement of Rs. 1500 which i had to pay to the INDIGo airlines

      Dear sir
I, PS Rawat along with my five family membrs (total 06 members) had booked flight ticketes from Chennai to Port Blair on 14 Nov 09 by IC 549. The return flight tickets was booked from Port Blair to Chennai on 17 Nov 09 by IC 510 and the details are as follows:-
      PNR No : RHST3C /IC
Tickets Nos. : [protected] to 694
      Date of journey : 17 Nov 09
Mobile No : [protected] / [protected]
      e-mail address : [protected]@yahoo.com

The flight was cancelled on 17 Nov 09 after boarding the plane due to tachnical fault . The Indian Airlines authority at Port Blair did not take the responsibility of my accommodation and food till next flight and it was told to me that we will give you a compensation of only Rs 500/- per passanger. However, I paid Rs 500/- per passanger for only accommodation for which I had submited a hotel bill. No compensation for lunch and dinner on 17 Nov 09 was given to me where as I had spent Rs 1450/- for Lunch and dinner and Rs 600/- towards conveyance for to and fro from air port. Beside this expenditure, my train tickets of 17 Nov 09 from Chennai to Ernakumam was also cancelled.
      2. May I submit that I the matter was discussed with duty staff of airlins at Port Blair, however, they expressed inability to resolve the issue and suggested to take up the case with higherr authority of Indian Airlines. My graviences of not providing food and shelter to my family after cancellation of flight on 17 Nov 09 may kindly be considered and a minimum compensation for lunch, dinner and conveyance as mentioned at para one above.

L&T — Ticket cost no refunded

        Dear Sir

I had a booking for 2 persons on Air Deccan for the 23rd of Sept. 2008 from Kolkatta to Lilabari ( booking done through Yatra.com, Yatra Ref. No LTD4JA and airline PNR No. 8393861 ) . Firstly, cancellation of the flight was not informed. When I called up your airline on the 20th, they said that the flight was cancelled. I asked them to reschedule the same for which they said that the flight wouldn't ply in that sector hence forth.
Kingfisher online assistant M/s Anupama confirmed that the entire sum will be refunded to my account within 14 days.
I have not yet received my refund. Secondly, another assistant from Kingfisher tells me last night that he doesn't have the status of my ticket. He was supposed to send me a mail or place a call by 21:00hrs last evening, which hasn't happened so far.

Kindly advice on what needs to be done next..

I had booked two tickets from dubai-delhi-dubai on 6th March 2011. I cancelled the booking at dubai office of air india on 16th April, 2011. I was informed that the refund of the ticket will be credited to my credit card within 20 days from cancellation. I have sent numerous reminders to air india on emails and tried calling their office as well in india but got no response. The ticket numbers are 098-[protected] and 098-[protected]. The attitude of air india is like they are running some kind of a monarchy. This is totally unacceptable behaviour on their part.
Refund of Cancelled Air India tickets

I was booked online Two air Tickets (Dubai-Kolkata Journey dt.30.09.2011) PNR: Z5Y2T and (Kolkata-Dubai Journey dt.11.11.2011)PNR:Z5T1J. But unfortunately for my personal reasons, I had cancelled my both tickets through Air India Kolkata office. They had asked me to send a mail for refund amount. So, as per their advice I was mailed to [protected]@airindia.in on dated 24.06.2011, 28.06.2011, 29.06.2011 and 05.07.2011 with some queries and also I am trying to these phones numbers [protected]/75 for several times. Till today nobody attended my telephone and answered my email. Although, money have not refund into my Credit card account.
I am residence at UAE Sharjah. This is my very very bad experience with Air India as I was booked Air India Tickets.

Air India — DISPLEASURE TO A CUSTOMER

        1. I booked a ticket by AIR INDIA on 7th Oct 2011(E-Ticket No[protected] which i subsequently canceled on Oct 9th 2011 .
        2. I was told by the authority that the refund will be done with in 15-20 days as i have used a Debit card as the mode of payment.
        3. After 15 day passed i gave a call in Pune office were a lady responded and told me that it will be refunded with in three days .
        4. Today when it is NOV 12 the refund of 18595/- has still not reach my acct .This made me call again in the air India's office of Pune branch
there a AIR INDIA EMPLOYEE Mr VIJAY DESHPANDE (DM) Talks to me very rudely and orders me to check from the concerned Bank were the Air India office have deposited all the claims. This is quiet insane how can i go to a bank which deals with Air India and ask them to refund when i don't know were the bank is and whom to app-ch.This is quiet a Harassment to a customer who is pleading them to make the refund on time .
        5. Mr Deshpande also went on babbling that he had done a favor on me by depositing the claim on 29th of Oct. which he thinks is a great job he had done and no one is giving him a pat, but does he know that he was already late doing his job?
        6. I came with the conclusion the AIR INDIA EMPOYEE Mr Deshpande is not fit for the job he is handling because he does not know what he is talking and what he should do in this scenario.
        7. with employee like Mr Vijay Deshpande customers like me will definitely wont chose Air India.
        Sir,
I purchased three tickets from IGI T3 air India booking counter on 14/04/12. Payment was made my axis bank debit card. It was from Delhi to leh (JK) flight no 445 (TICKET NOs.[protected],[protected] & 759), dated 25/04/12 . Due to some reason I cancelled my ticket through air India customer care on 24/04/12, and about refund they says that I have go to the same counter with my debit card. On 12/05/12 at about 1930 hrs I reached to T3 booking counter, the person on duty took my debit card and print out of tickets. After calculating the deduction he told me that, as per air India policy they have to pay the money back in cash (Rs. 22818/-), and at the moment the cashier doesn’t have enough money!!! So, I have to wait for while. I agreed. In the mean time I called customer care for refund policy. The person on other side told me that if I’m paying through card then the refund only can be made through card not in cash (vice versa)( and I also have the recording of the conversation). After one and a half hour I again go to the counter and found that the previous person’s duty was changed. After telling everything again to the present person he took my tickets print out and says it can’t be refund form here because it’s an old ticket and I have to go to AI city office in Safdarjang! When asking for made me waiting he says it’s his previous official’s mistake not his. I asked for the manager and got replied that there is no manager, no in-charge, even he doesn’t know his previous officials name!!! He wasn’t displaying his I/D. After asking he replied his name is Mr.Jitendar kr. (traffic assistant). When I told about customer cares reply he told that he has nothing to do with them they are giving me wrong information. Above all he was so rude and inconvenient. Now at present I don’t know who is right, and how can I get my money back. Please help me and let everybody know proper refund policy. I’m feeling cheated.
        BHASKAR DEY
with due respect to everybody, I post this complain on this site and also in airindia.in/contact us/feed back. On 14.05.12 at about 1030 hrs I recived a call from Mr. G. C. Anand business manager from IGI T3, that he has enquired about the complaint and I can come any time to the counter to take my refund, in cash (it is always avaliable for me)!!! He was so kind and say sorry for his staffs inconvenience. In the evening I go to the counter and it took just five minute to get my refund in cash. It is so strange that the persons who always have direct intaraction with the public either doesn't have enough knoledge or they doesn't have minimum profesonalism or work culture. Above all I again thanks Mr. G. C. Anand for his prompt action. thank you all.

            Address: Maharashtra

This is to bring to your notice that I travelled by Air India from Mumbai to Ranchi on 22nd April 2011 and on reaching home (Rourkela, around 4 hrs train journey from Ranchi) I was shocked to discover that my luggage had been tampered with. The polythene bags inside my suitcase were torn and my gold chain worth of Rs 7000 was missing. The saree worth Rs 2000 inside the the polythene bag was also cut as we believe some sharp object had been used to cut the plastic bag inside my suitcase to figure out what is there inside.

I immediately contacted the call centre of Air India regarding the same, but the telecallers did not give a satisfactory solution and asked us to contact the airport authorities.

I went and contacted the Ranchi Airport Manager Ms Baghe on my return from Rourkela, who was absolutely cold and non-helpfull and simply redirected us to Station Manager Mr Pramod Bhuiyan. Neither of them payed any attention to our compliant and harassed us by shuttling among themselves.

We kept asking the security guard to meet Mr Bhuiyan for around 20-30 mins, but they didn't allow us instead a shabby looking person communicated us to go back to Mrs Baghe. We also spoke to the Marketing manager of Air India at Ranchi airport asking for help but he too cut a sorry figure saying he cant help us as he is just a marketing manager. It was an utter harassment as we were made to contact from one person to another. It is an utter dismay that our national carrier behaves so irresponsibly with it's passengers.

Would urge you to look into the matter as this incidence has zeroed my confidence on Airport authorities about the safety and security of passenger’s luggage. It is highly unbelievable that such a thing can happen with the passengers luggage.

Earlier during check in at Mumbai airport we had insisted on the scanning of our luggage and sealing it but the staff told that it would be done automatically on the conveyer belt. This so called high tech implementation of online scanning of luggage is more for the convenience of the thieves than for the passengers.

We were left stranded at the Mumbai checkin counter for over 30 minutes saying that the system is down and our ticket series is not being accepted by the system.I have never had this kind of experience with any other airline. On top of that the ground staffs of AI are extremely rude.

My experience with Air India has been the worst experience with any Airline.

Firstly being stranded at the checkin counter, followed by things being stolen from my luggage and to add to it, the unprofessional, cold and non-coperative attitude of AI authorities.

It is highly improbable that I would be flying with Air India ever again or even refer it to my colleagues/friends/relatives.I must admit it is our mistake for flying by Air India despite other options that were available. We will never ever repeat this mistake again.

I do hope that some concrete and desirable action would be taken against this complaint.

              Address: Jamnagar, Gujarat

              Dear Sir,
This is with reference to the subject matter.
I had booked my round trip air ticket of Air India through "make my trip" from 29th March,2011(AI647) to 15th April,2011 for Mumbai-Jamnagar-Mumbai.

              Airline PNR No.YRNL9,
Passenger details: Mr. Jitesh Narshi Kansara
              Mrs. Punam Jitesh Kansara
              Mstr. Shashwat Jitesh Kansara

For Mumbai-Jamnagar on 29th April it was fair.
While returning on 15th April,2011 on the way I got a phone call from Air India that my flight AI648 was rescheduled at 14.15 hrs instead of 11.45 am.
But when I reached the Jamnagar airport, more surprises were waiting for us. As the time passed, departure time was announced by the staff successively 15.00 hrs,
15.30 hrs and so on. The flight AI647 arrived at 16.20 hrs and departed at 16.45 hrs. Meaning, it was late by 5 hours !
From Mumbai I had my connecting Emirates air flight EK0503(15th April 2011, 19.00hrs) which I obviously missed as we reached the boarding counter at 18.30 hrs.
During my conversation with the staff at Jamnagar airport, I found very rude and non-cooperating. They were not even taking any responsibility!
To make formality they passed message to Air India Mumbai duty manager. But when I reached Mumbai I was sent here and there to find the duty manager for around
1.5 hrs from counter to office and vice-versa, but I didn't fine him at all !
The people at office and boarding counter were behaving as if I had made mistake to travel with Air India ! After that I had no chance except rebooking my emirates
flight of 17th April,2011 as there was no other flight next day even. I did it with 1210 INR per ticket excess fare..
I had to stay in Mumbai for two nights without any business which did cost me of around 5000 INR.

My humble request to the authorities of this website/forum is to take up this matter to the Air India authorities and kindly ask them for the applicable compensation.

For reference, I am attaching my Air India booking along with the re-booked emirates ticket and excess fare receipts.

I am sure that my complaint shall be taken seriously and I shall get the results..

              Anticipating positive results,

              Jitesh Kansara

                Dear Sir,

For the past few days I am distressed since my daughter working in Bangalore traveled by Air India flight AI 502 from Delhi to Bangalore vide tkt confirmation no YBXPP on 11 April 11. On reaching Bangalore she discovered that her baggage comprising of one in number large sized VIP suitcase made of red colored synthetic fiber had not reached Bangalore in the aircraft. She lodged a complaint at Bangalore airport vide complaint no AI 690552. The baggage has not been found till today. My daughter , I and my wife are deeply distressed since during the visit all her personnel belongings were purchased anew with painstaking market survey and huge expenditure, to be lost in one go through the callous handling by Air India staff. We have been given to understand that damage claim would be filed after 10 days. I spoke to one Mr Manju , a senior executive of the lost and found section at Bangalore airport on phone number [protected]. He informed that the damage claim would be filed by them through the airport manager and forwarded to the Chennai Office for realization. I sincerely hope this the procedure. I request the consumer forum to advice/assist me in realizing the damage claim. Regards. Commodore SPS Bhatti. Indian Navy

on 11th September from Chennai to Dubai by IC 905
on 12 th September from Dubai to Asmara by B8 333

My name : Muthian Annie Mary Nirmala
                Tag No : IC 359093

                Passport No : B2521505
                File No : DX BX H 27139

Its about 3 months since my travel but I haven't received my baggage as yet.

I had asked the Eritrean airlines regarding my luggage and they had said that it is not transfered to them by the Indian airlines and that my baggage has been checked to Dubai instead of Asmara.

Could you please look for my luggage amoung the UNCLAIMED Baggage in Dubai and had it over immediately to the Eritrean airlines so that they can hand it over to me?

I had very important items like my medicines which are not available here. So it would be extermely helpful if you can look into it at the earliest.

Air India — Missing Baggage not returned even after 14 days

Hi My Name is Satya Sanampudi. My wife and kids travelled by Air India from Chicago to Hyderabad on June 14th 2008 by AI126. They checked 4 bags in Chicago and received only 3 in Hyderabad.
Lot of bags were missing and my wife filed a complaint at Hyderabad Airport. Even after 13 days, Air India didn't respond about the missing bag. Every time when call them we always get one response. We are enquiring into it and get back to you.

I wonder how much time it takes to enquire about a missing bag. I have to say that Air India is handling the baggage in the most disorganized way. I wish they look into this and take some action quickly.

I will wait for some more time, if nothing happens, I file a police complaint against Air India and going to publish in the local news papers at Hyderabad.

This is the worst service I ever see so far.

                Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — Harrasments

I flew with airIndia on 31st Dec 2008 at 21.30 from london Heathrow to New Delhi, Suppose to be in New delhi on 1st jan 2009 at 11.15 am, but instead of landing New delhi they took us to Bombay. We have been told that there is not enough fuel for us to wait bcs it will take nearly 2 hrs to get off in New Delhi, as the weather condition are not good. So, We all went there in Bombay at 1300.
There was no one from airindia to apologise or give us any information about what time we are going back.
There was no good food arrangements. The food provided to us was not good enough to eat.
Then, We have been given all the wrong information, We were not geeting the right information about what time we are going back to new delhi.
All our relatives came delhi to pick us, they were waiting there, Nobody knows what time we going back.In that cold weather all our families who came there to pick us they waited there from morning 11 am till night 12 pm.
As we all landed there nearly 11.30 at night.
All this harrasment we had and our familiers.I have some plans for New years day, everything has been ruined.
Iam bit delay to log this complaint, but the reason I have written this complaint is to get the compensation for all the harrasment me and my family have and also Air india's poor customer service.

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — No Customer Orientation!

While booking the ticket online for my friend(using my credit card), I had by mistake put my name instead of my friend's. The confirmation page showing the flight#, date of travel never showed the passenger name!
As soon as the ticket was booked, I realized the goo[censored]p and called up the airlines customer service where I was told that there was no provision to correct the name and the only solution would be to cancel the ticket - and on cancellation only Rs.400/- (tax fee) will be reimbursed out of the Rs.5382/- ticket!!!

I called up the Duty Manager, Area Marketing Officer but everyone declined to help. No vouchers, no modification fee - only ticket cancellation without any kind of reimbursement on ticket fee!
I was given a Delhi number where I was told that they can correct this information only if its their fault and never on passenger's. What does this convey?? That there are provisions for corrections ..that steps can easily be taken...but there is absolutely no willingness to help out their cutomers. This is when we start terming a service worst and lacking total customer orientation.
Since I called up within 5 minutes of booking the tickets, it clearly indicates that this was not intentional and is definitely just a careless mistake( blame partly on the poor design of the booking website!).
If the service provider is not ready to help out a customer in these cases then it simply echoes the overall unwillingness for customer assistance and the attitude of the organization.

I then went on to book another ticket and cancel this one - costing me a total loss of Rs.5000/- and a benefit of Rs.10, 700/- to the company - they are earning twice for the same seat in the flight.
I wanted to bring it your attention that such glaring examples of poor service and lacklustre attitude towards customers will definitely lead people to look upto private providers instead of putting their faith in public sector.
I request you to assist me in receiving the refunds on this ticket.

My son, a student studying in Karnataka, traveled on 10th July by Air India Express Flight IX 390 to Mangalore from Kuwait . As usual we have been patronizing Air India for our travels to Mumbai, Mangalore since the last 15 years. On arrival the baggage did not arrive and a claim for lost baggage was filed at the Mangalore airport. For several days Air India personnel – either in Kuwait or in Mangalore could not trace the baggage neither direct me to the right source.

After a long wait, exchange of emails, telephone calls and running from pillar to post, I was informed on 19th July that the baggage was located in Egypt, but when the passenger called AI at the Mangalore Airport, they informed him that the baggage has not arrived and they will contact him when they have some news. I therefore called the Manger, Chellam Prasad, who bluntly informed me that AI does not take responsibility for delay in baggages and that the same is mentioned on the ticket and that when the baggage is found the passenger will have to come and collect the same from the airport. First of all how did the baggage destined for Mangalore reach Egypt and how long does it take for the baggage to get to Mangalore from Egypt?

The AI customer support informs that I can claim for lost baggage after 7 days, however when I called the AI authorities in Kuwait, they informed all such claims have to be done at Mangalore and when Mangalore authorities informed that claim can be made only after 21 days. People pay to get rid of stress and I paid for stress with the AI ticket. What a poor service!

Apart from the trauma the entire family went through, additional expenses were incurred as the passenger was without his personal belongings (specially clothes, books, food items, and personal items) and had to purchase new clothes as well as necessary provisions for day-to-day use at his college campus. The baggage was delivered to the passenger on evening of 25th July without any compensation. The least I expected was an apology letter. We do not expect favours but proper customer service. To date my emails for a response to the following remain unanswered - c.[protected]@airindia.in, [protected]@airindiaexpress.in, GP.[protected]@airindia.in, [protected]@gmail.com.
AI seems to be in a very sorry state due to negligence and “don’t care” attitude towards its customers.

I request your assistance and help in obtaining a fair compensation. For more & detailed information send me an email on [protected]@yahoo.com.

                Regards,

My wife and daughter, both US citizens were harassed beyond belief by Air India personnel in New Delhi, their baggage lost and the tags had only 5 digits instead of the 6 digits. They stole the baggage and then harassed them in Delhi. Never should anyone travel by Air India. Remember, their service is poor, pride is poor and quality of planes is poor. Take your chances if you fly Air India.
This happened on Aug 27 2009. No one takes responsibility, there are no managers to talk to, no one to answer the phone, emails or mails.
They also lost my baggage from Bangkok to Kolkata flight and i was compensated for only 500 RP for the delay over 48 hours.

                Very bad...

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — Money Loss due to Wrongly Mentioned Travel Class

                Dear Sir,

I have travelled from Nagpur to Delhi by Air India on dated 14 Sep 2009 for attending interview in ACME Telepower Ltd.Gurgaon,

When i was booking ticket for Air india, travel class mentioned Economy in ticket. But when i went for journey with same ticket Lady employee of Air India at Nagpur Airport given me Boarding Pass with Executive Class and told me it is mistake in ticket. I was in hurry to attend important interview so i didnt do anything. Plz. refer attached scanned ticket and boarding pass for better understanding.

Due to mistake in boarding class regarding Travel class, I could not get travel reimbursement for full amount because ACME Telepower Ltd. has denied to reimburse me for Executive class. They have commited me for Economy class only.

Ultimately, i am in loss of Rs. 11,000/- due to wrongly mentioned travel class in Boarding Pass by Air India which was differ from booked ticket.

Sir, This amount nothing for Air India but as a individual person it means a lot for me. It's not matter of 1 or 2 thousands. It's a matter of Rs. 11000/- which means lot for me. I cannot bear loss of this BIG amount due to mistake of Air India.

So, you are requested to instruct Air India for paying me Rs 11000/- which i suffered due to this mistake.

Hope for positive Action from your side.

                Thanks

I travelled on Air India flight 101 from Washington DC to New Delhi on Dec 09th and on flihgt AI 311 from New Delhi to Mumbai on Dec 10th. My lugguage was booked direct from Washington to Mumbai. When I reached Mumbai my luggage was missing and I filed a complaint number BOMAI81067. I completed my trip and returned to Washington DC on Jan 05 from Mumbai without my lugguage.
Lugguage was traced and sent to my home in Washington on Jan 16th. My sister and I had to buy clothes and necessary things during our staty and we were never paid any compensation. I would appreciate if you can follow up on this matter.
can you please tell me while coming back to DC your immigartion was done in NY or in DC?

I happend to travel by Air India Express on the 11th of July from KUWAIT to COCHIN with family. Unfortunately, one of the baggage was missing for which an irregularity report was registered at the destination. From then I used to make follow up calls on a daily basis. Each day different people will ask the entire history and assure that they would get back to me. But none of them paid attention to. Later I switched to email mode to all the concerned managers and the so called customer service (Which I doubt exists there) departments. I have returned to KUWAIT after my vacation and it is a ridiculous situation now. Now it the 55'th day and AIR INDIA has no clue on this baggage. Their system at one location shows the baggage was erroneously carried to Cairo but another location says it is else where. It is some times hilarious and some times painful to deal with them.

My regular email to the following is not even replied "Air-India Limited Kuwait" <[protected]@gmail.com>, Sangeeta.[protected]@airindia.in, call.[protected]@airindia.in
The staff behave as though missing of baggages for a passenger is just a normal thing.

I request your assistance and help in obtaining a fair compensation. For more & detailed information send me an email on [protected]@yahoo.com

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — FLIGHT SCHEDULE

                Sir/Ma,am ,

I, Anupam Singh booked an international ticket bearing PNR no J41PT on 1st Oct 2010 .After a gap of about one month that is on 28th Oct during inquiry of PNR status I came to know abnormal change in my already confirmed ticket affecting flight number and time adhering to mischievous act without supplying prior intimation or without having negotiation with me.I am student and going abroad for study purpose being strictly bounded with reporting date and time.Such a one sided change in the departure schedule of flight is quite unsuitable to me.
I may therefore be allotted a confirmed flight ticket in accordance with my previous details (date and time of departure i.e. morning session on 7th Jan 2011) of journey as confirmed on 1st Oct 2010 or otherwise ticket may be canceled at your fault and amount be refunded along with compensation.

BUT THERE IS NO RESPONSE OF ABOVE MAIL.

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — Delay for 3 hours with no reasons, consolements & compensations

My wife & me flew on Air India from London to new delde by AI116 at 1330 hours on 2nd nov 2010. the airplane boarded us an hour late & made us sit in the plane for 2 hours. finally it flew with out any apologies & reasons for delay. i missed my taxi booked from delhi to chandigarh. i had to manage a local bus from delhi to chandigarh with 2 cabin baggages & 2 full baggages. i would never suggest air india to any enemy even.

it was just a very highly disappointing exeprience.

                thanks

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — booking/fare/non cooperation

AI took 84000 INR for open ticket from Phoenix to mumbai, i have been trying to confirm the return ticket any date between 18th dec to 2'nd Jan 2011. I have called them so many time, either the call gets dropped, they disconnect the call after taking information or they tell me that they will give a call back (which never happens).
It appears to me that i need to buy another ticket separately, AI is refusing to refund the money and they will not confirm the ticket also any day between 18th to 2'nd Jan 2011. I never realised Travelling/buying ticket with AI will be so painful. They really need to be punished. Shame on them for being so un-professional, un-ethical.

Air India does not care for customers. They do favor on the customers by giving them chance to fly with them .Their attitude is "You are creating useless work load on us by flying with us".Anyway their fat useless salary is secured by Govt.Of India . Why they should take a pain for customer satisfaction ????????????

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — Refund on Flight Cancellation

It is true cheating by Air India & Akbar Travels together. I had booked confirmed 4 tkts for my co-brother & Fly from COK-MUM on AI691 for 28th Dec 2010 and received a call on 27th Dec 2010 around 15:00hrs informing the pre-schedule of AI to 27th. Travelling time from home to airport is around 4 hrs & not possible to catch the flight. AI offered availabilty for 30th Dec which could not accepted due to schedules. Searched for a new flight and booked by spending an addition amount of nearly 30,000/-. Collected the note from AI office in Cochin for full refund and submitted to the Akbertravelsonline office after doing couple of running from office to office. Now Akbar Travels given me a refund of Rs.16467/- against the payment of Rs.22388/- by saying GATEWAY CHARGES. When I spoke to them asking me to mail the details again as they do not have any information. For this mental agony, harassment, disturbance and more over the finance loses, please advise us to approach which department or forum.
Looking forward to receive a positive answer to my situation.

Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — No Response on phone

I dont know how to describe my worst experience at trying to get in touch with Air India's Flying Returns Mumbai office for the past 3 days - with more than 100 attempts - not a single one was answered, !!

It is an absolutely frustrating & disgusting experience by which I have decided never to fly Air India.

My task was to purchase some top-up miles to make up the shortfall in buying a an award ticket. I wanted to check up with the FR office as to how, when & where can I make this payment.

I would prefer to pay it online so that my trip all the way to the FR office is saved. But I have NO help from your side because nobody is lifting the goddamned phone !!

                I am badly Stuck !!

How can you resolve this grievance ??

                Kirit Shah
Same happened to us. We missed our next flight which costed us thousnads of bucks. We had to buy the tickets again as we missed the next flight due to lazy Air India flight.
The same situation is with me I dont know what to do!!!

                Sheikh Jamil Ahmad — SERVICE

                1. I TRAVELLED IN AI FLT FROM GUWAHATI TO NEW DELHI ON 15.04.11. THE FLT WAS SCHEDULED TO DEPART AT 1825HRS BUT WAS DELAYED BY APPROX 30 MIN AS CATERING VAN WAS LATE. BUT THE SURPRISE WAS THE MEAL SERVED WHICH WAS WORSE THAN THE JANTA MEAL PROVIDED BY THE IRCTC IN RAIL. I GAVE THE FEEDBACK IN WRITING TO THE CABIN CREW. TILL DATE AIR INDIA DID NOT BOTHER TO CHECK THE DETAILS FROM ME.

This is to inform you that I boarded by Air India flight from Srinagar to Delhi and then a connecting flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad.

                Srinagar to Delhi: AI 822 U 13MAY 1435 and Delhi to Ahmedabad: AI 10 H 13MAY 1855.

However, my baggage was found missing after my arrival at Ahmedabad. Air India personal had taken the complaint but they should also understand that how a person visiting the city for a single day would survive without the baggage. The whole purpose of visiting the city and investment goes in vain. AI representatives didn't even pay for the Interim Expenses for delayed delivery of baggage. This is truly unprofessional.
AIR INDIA STAFF AT SAFDARJUNG IS BEHAVING ABNOXIOUSLY AND THINK THEY ARE WORKING IN A GOVERMENT AIRLINE SO THEY ARE IN SAFE HANDS . IF THIS WILL CONTINUE THE AIRLINE WILL ONLY BLEED . HIGH TIME GET SOME PROFESSIONALS TO IMPROVE THE CONDITION AND ALSO ATTITUDE OF THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE .

Damid how...when i stated to leave for final call of flight boarding the crew stopped me as i had being issued a pass of AI 811 ( 4.30 flight ) and i was travelling and heading towards the flight at 7 am...they asked the ticket supervisor as they have committed a mistake...they allowed me to travel for AI 411 and changed my flight number and borading number but could not shift my baggage to the morning flight. they said to send the baggage by evening flight ( AI 811 4.30 pm flight) ...i agreed and travelled and reached lucknow on time...i floated a request to air india staff in lucknow for my baggage colletcion in 4.30 flight but infortunately my baggage did not come...after a hassle it was enuired from delhi baggage unit that my baggage was left unidentified and unclaimed there and did not get boarded...this is a height of carelessness from the air india staff at delhi airport...such an should be held under investigation...

                Dear Air India,

This is my first time travel in your flight on 20th July from Hyderabad to Bangalore. My baggage was broken. I spoke to the Air India counter who said that there will be a person coming home to repair the bag. It is more then 3 weeks and no one has come to repair my suitcase. I have called the number [protected] several times. They only tell me that the person will come today, tomorrow. I have not received anyone coming to my home to pick this bag. I am a frequent traveler. Though i am no more a fan of Air India anymore. However, It is your responsibility to repair the broken suitcase. I would appreciate if you can call me on [protected] and address this problem. The customer care is pathetic and in spite of waiting for 50 mins on hold, i had no solution given.

                Regards,

                  Dear Sir,

I am writing this mail to seek justice for the mental and financial harassment meted out to me by AIR INDIA. My name is Alok Nigam and I am living in Hyderabad. On 15th April 2011, I was to travel to Mumbai to attend an interview for my MBA admission. I planned my travel well in advance and hence booked a return ticket with AIR INDIA on 19th March itself. I made my reservation in the 15th April morning flight (AI 964) having scheduled departure time of 08:45 AM. Just one day before my travel date, i.e. on 14th April, I got a call from AIR INDIA call center stating that my HYD-MUM flight has been rescheduled to 04:15 PM (a delay of 7 hour 30 mins). The person gave me an option to either retain the same flight or alternately opt for a 8:15 AM flight for Mumbai. Since I had my interview at 2:00 PM, I had no other option but to agree for 8:15 AM Air India flight. I asked the caller to send me the new ticket to which he assured me that my reservation has been confirmed and I don't need to present any new ticket at the check-in counter. He told me that my current ticket will suffice the purpose. I sensed no harm in his promise as I have experienced similar situations in my previous travels with other airlines. On 15th morning, I reported at the Air India check in counter at 7:30 am. The person at the desk asked for my ticket and entered something in his console. After few entries he told me that sir you need to wait for a while as he needs to check something with his colleague. Few seconds later, he asked me to accompany one of his colleagues to another AIR INDIA counter. Till this point, the situation was anything but alarming. But as soon as I reached the other counter, I saw a group of around 7-8 fellow passengers arguing over some issue. The person on the counter asked the Air India guy accompanying me to put 7:45 am on my ticket to which I objected and said that it's clearly 7:40 am right now. I could not understand why is this person asking for time and not issuing the boarding pass directly.

It was then that my worst nightmares came true. The person over the counter told me that I cannot be issued a boarding pass as I am late by 10 minutes (the minutes which I spent waiting at previous counter). He simply refused to acknowledge my request. I did mention that I have a crucial interview and there are still good 35 minutes to the departure of flight. A few individuals joined me at the same counter and I realized that all present there, the ones who came before me and the ones joining me, were all in the same boat as mine. We all were being denied the boarding pass citing different reasons, mine being 'late reporting'. As the stakes were really high for me, I apologized for being late and requested him to kindly consider my situation but the person simply refused. The arguments of the people present there slowly turned into a brawl and it was then only the person at the counter erred to admit the real cause of the situation.

Mistakenly, he made a offer to all o[censored]s present there, saying " there is just 1 seat available of 8:15 AM flight... so only one of you can get the ticket. you decide whose is the gravest situation and I will issue him the ticket". Here came out the actual reason for this situation " 20 people of 8:45 AM flight were promised a confirmed ticket on 8:15 AM flight where as only 5 tickets were actually available on it " (I have taken these numbers to explain the situation). So the situation can be summed up as:

                  1. Air India postponed the 8:45 AM HYD-MUM flight to 4:15 PM.
                  2. Say there were 20 bookings on this flight and they called up all these 20 people and promised a confirmed ticket in 8:15 AM flight.
                  3. Having no reason to sense any foul play, we passengers arrived at the airport to board the flight.
                  4. Actual the number of seats available on 8:15 AM flight were far less than that promised to us
                  5. To tackle this situation the Air India airport staff employs different tactics:
                  a. offering 4:15 PM flight and a hotel accommodation for the in between time
                  b. giving excuses like you are late or your phone was switched off when the call center called to inform you.
                  c. take full refund and go home
                  6. Nothing of this worked as most of the people there had a valid reason to be there in Mumbai and no one wanted to opt for the evening flight.

I tried to convince the Duty Manager also. He simply kept quiet to our requests and later left to never come back to address the situation. It was not the kind of the start one expects on one of the most important days of his life. These were about 40 minutes of persuasion, requesting, arguing, shouting and speaking for me. But it was all falling on the deaf ears. The whole problem was actually a "Planning and Operations" Blunder on the part of Air India. When it was already 8:15 AM and nothing seemed to be working out for me, I requested them to make an arrangement in any other airlines. The answer to this, i must say is one of the most unfortunate excuses I have ever heard. The person belittled me by saying that you have booked a "CHEAP FARE" ticket and you cannot expect to get this treatment from us.The duty manager too (over phone) told me the same. It was disgusting to say the least. Did I ask for any favors from AIR INDIA? A ticket was available at some stated price on a website a month ago, and I booked the same. Where was I at fault? Did I beg Air India for a discount or a free ticket? It was a pathetic experience at the AIR INDIA check in counter and I was emotionally drained by this horrendous experience I had in this one hour ordeal of mine.

Having such an important interview, I had no other choice but to book a Jet Airways 10:00 AM flight on my own expenses. It was a Rs. 4351 ticket and I attribute this as a monetary loss subjected to me due to the flaws in planning and management of AIR INDIA. It was nothing less than a conspiracy to hide their own ineffectiveness in delivering the services to the customers.

Having told a long story above, my ordeal doesn't end here.I had a return 8:00 PM flight from Mumbai to Hyderabad. This flight was rescheduled at least 4 times i.e. the call center first informed me that it will depart at 9:00PM instead of 8:00PM and then later I was again told that the departure will be at 8:30 PM. The final departure time, as informed at the check in counter was again 9:00 PM and the actual departure took place at 10:20 PM. But even this departure, taking place 1 hour 20 minutes behind the scheduled departure time was not as smooth as it sounds. The e-ticket issued to me had no mention of terminal name in it, neither does the website informs anything about it. Having experienced all that mentioned above in the morning, I decided to play safer and reached the domestic terminal at 7 PM i.e. 1 and half hour in advance ( at that time I knew departure to be at 8:30 PM). The staff at Terminal 1B of Mumbai domestic airport directed me to go to the Terminal 1A where from all the AIR INDIA departures take place. I walked this distance in the anticipation that this would be the final hassle. But I was wrong, the police personnel at the Terminal 1B didn't allow me to enter and informed me that this flight actually leaves from International terminal which is situated a good 7-8 kms away. To verify this, I contacted the AIR INDIA window outside the Terminal B1 and the person told me the same. I asked him how one should make out this from this ticket, to which he had no answers. To my surprise, without even me making a mention of it to anyone, there were a group of auto wallas waiting at a distance who made me an offer for a ride to International terminal for Rs 500. I had no other option but to negotiate and give in to their demand. I paid a whopping Rs 300 for this ride to international terminal. All this while I was doubting myself for not able to make out the correct terminal and I still fail to understand that how one can make out from the flight number 'AI 50" that this MUM - HYD flight will actually leave from International Terminal. But my self doubt got cleared only when I met many, yes many other people in the aero bus (bus from Boarding gate to flight) who all were not just fellow passengers but also the fellow sufferers of the same riddle. Thanks to almost negligible instructions from AIR INDIA on the tickets, we all paid exorbitant and unjustified sums (ranging from 150 - 550) to these opportunist auto rickshaw guys. This explained why the auto wallas outside the domestic Terminal B1 were already aware of my dilemma.
Finally the boarding did start at 9:20 PM (20 mins after the scheduled departure) and we boarded the bus from Gate no 4 of International Terminal. And there came the real surprise. The bus actually drove us back to Domestic terminal. Yes, a 'back to square one' situation.

Sir, I don't know whether to laugh at myself or to cry but I felt like Air India has made a joke out of my situation. At the end of this highly eventful day, I was physically and emotionally drained. I was emotionally harassed by Air India. In the morning, I was literally in tears and the treatment given by the Air India officials at Hyderabad airport rendered me mentally strained. It all threatened my career prospects as I was supposed to be in the best of my mental state to appear for my interview. I am sure, my fellow passengers experienced the same amount of pain, one of whom was accompanying his ailing wife and had a doctor appointment in Mumbai. I saw him travelling in the same Jet Airways flight as mine.

                  Few questions at the end:
                  1. When you are saying that I am late and that's why I can't be allowed to board the flight, how does that explains only 1 seat left in the carrier?
                  2. If there are people like me who are late, why are not as many seats vacant in the carrier as no of people waiting to board.
                  3. One weird explanation came from a employee that since I was late, my ticket was given to a Wait listed Passenger. This concept of WL tickets in airlines was a surprise to me.
If assumed to be true, it presents an interesting riddle here. If at all it exists, how come AIR INDIA issued a ticket to a WL person before the actual boarding time closure? They should wait for the confirmed passenger to come. And when it is closing time for Boarding, a boarding pass can simply not be issued to anyone, be it a WL or a confirmed guy.

Sir, I request you to kindly look into this situation which has left me both financially and emotionally traumatized. I request to to kindly inquire this matter and punish the people who are responsible for this mis-management which brings bad name to the whole organization. I request you to instruct the relevant department to take up my case and compensate for my financial losses atleast. I seek a compensation for my air travel from HYD to MUM and for the auto fare i had to shell out extra for the mis-communication on the part of ticket issuing authority of AIR INDIA. I seek a compensation of INR[protected] + 300) and an action against the people responsible for this situation of mine and many others.

Air India — Failed to produce electronic boarding pass

I am a frequent flyer with Emirates and fly four to five times every year.
My booking with Air India, Air Line Reference: YWCSK, I tried to produce electronic boarding pass less than 24 hours before flight. I never have any problem with any air lines but Air India IT sysyem is as bad as the Airline. It is the worst Air Lines in the world with 50 times over staffed compared to any other air lines with most in charge .

Ticket numbers were[protected] and[protected], Flight no AI 112 departing from London on 22 Apr 11 at 2130. All informations were entered correctly four times. But the stupid IT system refuse to provide boarding pass. These Indian never fail to surprise me. They are supposed to be top in IT, what rubbish! they are only good in repeat jobs devised by western world. They do not have any hard ware skills.
The whole board are only good for sleeping on job as their Ministers are.Bloddy use less lot.

                  Air India — denied boarding

My grandmother on FAMILY VISITOR VISA was denied boarding and was asked to produce a return ticket which is not required by UK immigration law.
Samething happen to my passenger on date 16/10/2011 at Silchar Airport being
                  AirIndia Flight No. 9707
                  Departure : Silchar
                  Arrival : Imphal
                  Date of Departure : 16/10/2011
                  Date of Arrival : 16/10/2011
                  Departure time : 9:30 am
                  Arrival time : 10:05 am
                  Airline PNR No. : HDH5H
Ticket Nos : [protected], [protected] and [protected]
Name of the Passengers : (1) Mr VANROUPUI HMAR (adult)
                  (2) Mrs SIM MOI (adult)
                  (3) Master GIFSON BABY (Inf)
The airline staff at Silchar Airport managed the above mentioned journey by Silchar-Kolkotta-Imphal route for the day. My complain is the airline staff objected for the infant passenter namely Master Gifson Baby. They are saying that the name of the passenger is not on the list of the PNR being No. HDH5H (they permitted for the above two adult passengers). Therefore the airline staff forced them to take a ticket for the infant (again) for the whole journey.
Infact I have booked the ticket for them including the infant. As a result of denied from Air India they booked a new ticket for the infant. The same problem happen at Kolkatta Airport.
This is very unfortunate to the general public specially for those who are in imargency trip and financial problem as well as uneducated persons.
Air India must be the responsibility of the whole events.

                  From H. Sanatomba, Manipur
Me too faced the same problem with AI50 flight last week. I went to domestic airport and was informed to go back to international airport.
Had to pay 500 rupees to auto people and reach international airport in hurry.
Worst part we were internally moved to domestic airport again and flight took off from there after 30 mins late.
Truly frustrating.. Air india team needs to change.
I too faced a similar problem on 22nd May 2013 at 8:10pm. Boarding pass was not issued saying i was late by 5mins. where my travel was a connecting flight from Delhi to Paris. I need to travel from Hyd to Del. we were literally begging an air india representative(lady) infact explaining our situation that we have spent around 3 lac for the trip and we would be missing the connecting flight to paris.

On a return journey same Air India flight was delayed by 15mins to takeoff. Then no one can question

Air India from Hyderabad worst ever service especially for boarding pass issuing.

Air india ticket refund not done since dec2010

On 26th Dec 2010, we had booked a ticket from Delh to Kolkata on flight AI 680. The payment was processed however the booking was not confirmed (PNR No: RFIZSN)

Following which we contacted the call centre where initially the PNR was provided as JGTRN (screenshot in trailing mail) and status as waiting list. It was confirmed to us that the amount will be refunded in full and we need to rebook.

So we rebooked annother ticket on the same flight for the same passenger which got confirmed (PNR No: RPSRCS)

Air indai has no clue of the refund status of the first ticket PNR No RFIZSN
still awaiting response and action inspite of repeated reminders.

I am a frequent flier in UAE-Kochi sector, normally from Abu Dhabi. On 23rd February 2011, I had booked in Dubai-Kochi Air India Express flight IX 434. When reached at Dubai airport I was informed that the flight was cancelled and would be able to fly only on next day’s same flight. The reason for the cancellation of the flight was not at all convincing. Many passengers like me where stranded at the airport. No alternate arrangement was made. I told to the officer on duty that I was coming from Abu Dhabi and had no place to go back in Dubai, he had expressed that he could not help. A choice was given to me to go on the same day’s flight up to Kozhikode. When I requested to arrange a conveyance from Kozhikode to Kochi, the officer on duty at airport flatly refused. I had no choice but to accept the Kozhikode flight IX 344.
After reaching Kozhikode, I could understand that there were two flights from Kozhikode to Kochi. I had requested the staff in Air India office to arrange a seat in one of those flights. But the junior staff at the office told that she could not help as the officer on duty was at the apron for attending the aircraft. Though there was enough time to arrange, she checked with somewhere and informed me that she could not help. At the end I had to arrange my own conveyance from Kozhikode to Kochi and reached home.
If you conduct a survey, you will realise that in general people are not happy to fly in Air India, due to the uncertainty of the timings and general behaviour of the staff. Why I accepted Air India was due to the convenience in the flight timing and little less in fare.
There are many other flights in the same sector with better service and surety to reach home in time. Instead of attracting more customers, with such uncertainty and misbehaviours of the staff, Air India will be further plunging in to loss, irrespective of the any effort to bring up. Surely my choice of carrier will be changed from Air India.

Mrs. Surekha Sail(my mother in law) had travelled by AI144 on 7th Dec 2010 : Newark-Mumbai-ahmedabad.When she landed at the SVP International Airport at ahmedabad, her 2 bags did not come along. she was told that the bags would be sent later at her residence as is the normal practice with other airlines. She hired a Qualis and went to ahmedabad to collect the bags thus incurring expenses of Rs. 4000/-. After all these months, she has received a cheque of Rs. 1000/- towards all the tension, anxiety and expenses she bore. I request you to pl. investigat and arrange to compensate at least the expense incurred. All the passengers who travelled aboard the above mentioned flight had the same fate.

My check in baggage, a large size VIP bag costing about Rs 7000 was badly damaged beyond repairs during my Air India flight from Delhi to Dehradun on June 9th, 2011. I reporeted the matter to the Air India station manager and the complaint was received by him and forwarded to Delhi Office on the same day. I have also sent a reminder about 15 days back but there is no response from the Airline. Can anything be done or can anybody tell me whome to call for the compensation?

                                  1. I travelled from Hyderabad to Coimbatore on 15 Jan 2011 by Air India flight IC 1547 boarding pass no[protected]C1.
                                  2. While checking in the luggage at the counter I told the person that my bag contained wine four bottles & he should put the FRAGILE tag on the bag. The same was done and a baggage tag bearing No - [protected], A/7119587/ SEQ NO 44 was put on it.
                                  3. After about an hour or so an announcement was made that I should report to the departure gate, I did so & on reaching there I was told that I had to go to the Luggage section as there was some problem.
                                  4. From there they took me to the Luggage section where I was informed that there was a leakage in my bag, on opening my bag I found that a bottle of wine had broken out of the four bottles and the entire stuff like T- Shirts, Shoes, Shirts Jeans, Hanker chefs etc were stained in the bag & the bag was full of small pieces of glass.
                                  5. I cleaned my bag & asked the staff, that how could it happen when a FRAGILE tag put on the baggage... but they did'nt have any answer to my query. On asking as to where I could lodge a complaint I was told that I could'nt lodge a complaint at Hyderabad & I should do it at Coimbatore airport. They started to avoid me on asking the reason of breakage, I asked a manager type of person to the problem & he told me that someone will come & inform me in the aircraft about the problem & I should board the aircraft immediately as it was about to depart.
                                  6. NO one came in the air craft to inform me. On reaching Coimbatore I spoke with the staff about lodging a complaint, they told me that there was no use as there would be no action on it, as the airlines was not responsible for the breakage of bottles with or without FRAGILE tags.
                                  7. On reaching home I lodged a complaint in the Air India's inter net site of which there has been no response till date.
                                  8. I am very disappointed with the behaviour of the staff at both Hyderabad & Coimbatore airports. I want the compensation for the breakage and the subsequent damage to the stuff in the bag due to leakage caused by the wine.
                                  9. Hoping for a positive response, my email address is [protected]@gmail.com and my contact No is [protected].

                                    Sir,

I have been in constant followup with the airlines regards my missing luggage on mail and also thru phone.

I have been very very disappointed by the manner in which my complain has been handled.

                                    So far.

1/ there has not been a written revert to my mails. Youc an see trail mails below
2/ have only got an officer to speak to twice - once telling me they were trying to trace and the other that the server was down and I would rec a revert which of course has not happened!

Today I was told by staff who are clearly not too bothered and who have no concept of customer service

1/ it is the shanghai handling agents problem as your baggage did not have a ticket
2/ it is the problem of the delhi airport authorities as there is a mess in delhi
3/ the airlines has taken a complain down which is the most that could be done in the situation

For me....I have handed the baggage to the airlines

1/ who were careless enough not to give me a baggage ticket inspite of my asking at the time of aircraft boarding and assured me that all would be in order
2/ who never informed earlier that there would be a change of aircraft in delhi which has resulted in my baggage being misplaced.

PLEASE REVERT ON HOW THE AIRLINES WILL COMPENSATE.
In case of non revertal latest by tmrw, I will be initiating legal proceedings

                                    Marietta

When I called the offices of AI on 5th jan, was told that the servers were down and there would be a revert once systems are back up.

Hoping that your systems are back up now and I will receive a revert.

                                    Dear Sir,

Received a call on 29th Dec from an airline official soon after my earlier mail informing me that they were STILL IN THE PROCESS OF TRACING THE LUGGAGE.

We arrived in India on 19th Dec....and even as of 10 days ( as of the 29th Dec ) and today the airlines is in the process of "TRACING".

Even then, the AI continues to stress on its very redundant 21 day policy of wait..... DOES THE CHANCE OF FINDING THE BAGGAGE INCREASE WITH TIME ???
The longer the time taken in the "TRACING" process the lower the probability of " FINDING" the baggage!

Please can I have a revert on the situation that is correct and honest

                                    regards

                                    Marietta

Once again, although I have sent reminders and continue to call the offices of AI , I get no repsonse.

There are NO officers to answer telephone nos[protected]/ 8/ 9 ....WHY ARE THESE NUMBERS GIVEN TO ME ???

WHY DOES AI CHANGE AIRCRAFTS IN DELHI WHEN THEY CANNOT MANAGE THE LOGISTICS OF GETTING PASSENGERS AND THEIR LUGGAGE

                                    Dear Sir,

I have called numerous times and am yet to receive a reply to my mail.

Please can I have a revert from AIR INDIA on my luggage which they have lost in transit.

I will be forced to take legal recourse in case of non revertal by the airline.

                                    regards,

                                    Marietta

                                    Dear Sir,

Have been trying in vain for the last couple of days to trace my baggage!

Travelled on the Shanghai - Delhi - Mumbai AI349 flight of 19th Dec .

A handluggage which was a dark navy Samsonite case was taken from me before I entered the aircraft and put into the luggage hold.

This luggage has been misplaced by the airlines and have called numerous times but to no avail. My complain file no is BOMAI85410

There were a lot of passengers on the AI349 shanghai - mumbai sector who have lost luggage thanks to poor service at the Delhi airport.

Could I please have a reply from AI on the status - would appreciate a reply as it is already 5 days!

I was fly in to chicago on 31st December 2010 via Air india Flight AI127 and all the passenger boarding from Delhi missing the baggage at chicago and the Air india staff told us that your baggage will be delivered to you by 6.00 PM on Jan 1st 2011 but till on Jan 3rd i haven't heard anything from Air india.

Also they have very bad service on the Delhi air port. it's took them three hours to issue a baording pass to us from Dlehi to chicago. flight was delayed by 6.00 hours.

I traveled Newark, NJ, USA (EWR) to New Delhi, India (DEL) via Frankfurt on April 19.

Flight was a substandard flight with no amenities, even trash was not emptied.. headphones were already opened and used, probably they did not replace it form last flight. Flight delayed by an hour, seem not unreasonable. My breaking point was to wait for check in bags and there being not arrived for about 12-15 passengers and AI staff did not have courtesy to even explain it to us, what went wrong.

Some ground staff at the airport was very courteous and helpful, especially at the info centre and needs recommendation as he even helped in filling the complicated form. The custom inspector was cordial and there was no problem at that time but I have heard horror stories when people went back to collect bags.

I really doubt if the Delhi baggage claim service will be reasonable or customer friendly.

I am hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
I travelled by AI 864 on 09.06.2009 from JEDDAH to HYDERABAD. After arrival at Hyderabad i found that my checked in baggage one piece has not arrived. I lodged a complaint with the baggage handling desk at the airport and received a copy of it. I was told that my baggage will be delivered to my home address with in two days. The baggage has not been deliverd till 23.06.2009 . I tried to call every day betwwen there working hours, to my surprise the phone is always busy. I could get connection only twice during this period and the reply is that they are still trying to trace my baggage. I do not know how long Air India will take to trace my baggage and unable to give any definite time.

Can any one help me in this matter by giving their valuable advice.
To whom I have to write a complaint?
Can i go for any legal action?
How long i should wait to go for legal action?
I had travel insurance covering my trip. Can i claim from the insurance for the delay/missing baggage?
                                        Dear Sir,
This is to bring to your notice that it has been 13 days and I have still not received my baggage.
I took AI flight number AI131 from Mumbai airport on Oct 10, 2009 at 0135 hours (boarding time) Seat Number – 41K (Mumbai to London). At check-in time no tag was put on the bag on insistence they assured that required information is captured in the system and bag will reach at destination safely.
But on arrival at London Heathrow airport (Terminal 3) my worst fear came true. I didn't find my bag. A complain was lodged with Airport officials, following reference number AHL LHRI 10555 was provided.
This bag contained various essential household items, all my clothes and most importantly medicines. I had to purchase various essential items and i have still not been able to get medicines for my severe acidity.
I have suffered tremendously on financial, mental and physical front due to gross baggage mismanagement by AI. I hereby humbly request AI authorities and ministry of aviation to look into this and get my baggage retrieved at earliest. I also sincerely request concerned authorities to look into this at a broader level and stream line baggage management so that no one else goes thru similar suffering.

                                        Your Sincerely

carry bag — air india missed my bag

                                        Hi,
My name is mohd tariq anwar,
i have cheak in my bag in delhi airport and i got my bording pass.
and when i came down in jaipur ariport and i was looking my bag but dint founded when i ask airport people where is my bag then they cheaked and said by mistakly we have forget ur bag in delhi only.
than they said u will get ur bag at ur nearest airport we will dileverd that bag in 1 or 2 day then u can collect ur bag but today 4th day i m still not got my bag and when i call them they said it's already dileverd at ur nearest airport..what do i do now i have complint paper also with me.
I was also there in the same flight and missed my both check-in baggages, just wanted to know if there is any Money claim policy of AirIndia for missing baggage's!!! because I can't wait till the most irresponsible/lethargic Airline staff of the world to find them.

                                        Please Advise.
Friends, it was in news that AirIndia staff has not come for work on 31/12/2010, insted they were partying and buzzing in pubs. Because of which the filght AI127 that needs to fly on 31/12/2010 from Delhi to Chicago was delayed and again the next days 1/1/2011 filght AI127 was delayed for 10hrs and all the passangers were stranded at Delhi airport for 10hrs.

Hights of these AirIndia staff is that when they miss placed the Checked-in baggage for around 50 passangers, and still couldn't find any information on recovering them.

People please donot forget to claim insurance for all the Loss/Delay Checked in baggages so that these AirIndia guys are taught a leasson...these guys have proved today that they are Indian Gov employees and they can make the common men suffer to any extent without even being questioned by Concern authorities for there irresponsibility.

Its 11th of Dec and I have not received one of my bag. I received one by courrier on 4th of Dec. When I enquired about the other bag which is missing I am ONLY getting the response that we don't have any information on it. Till now the AI was putting the entire blame on United Airlines which I boarded from MN to EWR. But when I spoke to UA they said that both the bags were handed to AI at Newark.I am trying to call up Newark but noone picks up. I am really tensed because of all this. Please help me..

                                        Aparna

I recently heard that there is a scam in AI where people(employees) hook off with the passenger bags as it lands at various airports especially at delhi and mumbai and AI (in case it pays the consumer) has to pay the money. it it worthless of even being a low cost carrier. Otherwise how can one explain the number of missing baggages through AI. It obviously can't dissipate in this air unless one is carrying gaseous item. Shame on the so-called national carrier of India.
                                        Hi,

I fly from air india on 5th of May 2013 from Kolkata to JFK via Delhi(AI 101). When I come at the jfk airport on 6th ofMay 2013, I saw that one of my bag is missing and after talking with the lost and found department I found out that my missing bag was not boarded at delhi. So the officer told me that my bag will be coming on the next flight tomorrow and they will directly send the bag to my home. He gave me the reference number for my missing bag (JFKAI13121 ). Now on 8th of may I received my bag but the bag was fully damaged, somebody has cut the bag from the side and even stolen the things from the bag which costs around 7000 to 8000 INR.

I am trying to call at the number[protected]but nobody is picking up the phone at the number. Can you tell me who is responsible for the whole things and whom should I contact for the claim.

                                        Thanks,
                                        Raj Tayal
