Dear Rakesh Ranga(Airtel Customer Service Team)/Team

Thanks for response and find the attached mail send by your team after a big investigation.

Please educate your team to provide valid information for the customer in prior to avoid such confusions.

As i Experienced,

First when i contacted your team they informed to submit the document and it will be activated within 48 Hrs.

Second time when i contacted to your team through mail, there was no response (Please dont provide any mail in your portal, because they are not responding).

Third time when i contacted your team through my friends influence, they informed that this number is ready for next cycle allocation and i can retain the same number with postpaid connection.

Finally when i registered in customer complaint, then i got this mail ID ([protected]@in.airtel.com) through which i got the conformation that the number will not be ACTIVATED.

So i concluded not to use AIRTEL - BHARTI service for any more to avoid such confusions.

Request you to not to activate my number as i dont want to use the service which will disconnect in a while which was used nearly more than 5 years and i have not seen such a disconnection from other service providers.

Airtel — false balance deduction

i had lodge a complaint for false balance deduction on my no [protected], in airtel gallery, they haven't sorted out my complaint i have still not received any explanation for the deduction.i am tired of calling them and now they have bared my number for one month.they don't keep updated their service and deduct the balance on any day for no valid reason.i require ur help

I have not requested for any subscription of any service of funclub. but unnecessarily my Rs10/= per day are deducted from 26th dec till date.Also a message is given to me daily in this meanwhile that "Thanks for subscribing for funclub service. you have been credited Rs.10/=. unnecessarily my balance is deducted every day and i am facing very inconvenience.

Please do the needful to remedy this problem as soon as possible.

Airtel Pre - Paid — last two days not getting connection in my mobile no.9748710589 from other mobiles

i, amitava nayak is having air tel pre-paid connection since feb2008 with 01 yr free incming call, validity of which has not yet expired. but during last 02 days whenever i want to contact thr my said mobile from other mobiles i am replied" this is not a valid number " .

pleae explain me the reasons and set it right forthwith so that am not compelled to ask queries under RTIAct 2005.

Airtel Pre - Paid — forceful subscription of Airtel Live(AL)

I have not subscribed for AirtelLive but still every now and then a message appears in my inbox which either says that "You have been renewed for weekly subscription service from Airtel. You have been charged Rs.10." or, even worse "Thanks for using(Subscriptions, Text based services) subscriptionservice on Airtel WAP. You've been charged Rs20.Enjoy http://gclub.in.

I have also complaint in the Airtel office regarding this and at that time they unsubscribed me without any refund or so although my approximately Rs.50 were already deducted from my sim.

I am fed up of this unjust services of Airtel.

Airtel Pre - Paid — Automatic activation of services & deduction of money

Myself Rajeshwar My Cell Number is - [protected] .
I dont know from when but after every 3 days 1 Rs get diducted from my account with SMS from 54321. Message is You have been renewed for Bikinichartalert-3dayfree subscription service from Airtel .You have been charged Rs 1.
I am not subscribed this service and 4 months before 75 Rs also diducted for GPRS service and that time also i was not subscibed for Internet.
In last months 30 Rs alos get diducted for Audio Service I dont know what is this.
I am noticed this in November 2009 but i am not able to contact Customer Excutive through 121.

Please help me to get my money back wich is arround 5000 Rs. As i am using airtel from last 4 yrs.

Airtel — No Response from AIRTEL for temporary disconnection of my phone

My number is [protected], the India's worst airtel was barred incoming and outgoing for my mobile without any prior notice. then i submitted my details on 08.02.2010. till now there is no connectivity. i have remained lot of time in AIRTEL local showroom but no response. how to solve my problem with airtel?

Airtel Pre - Paid — Auto Activation of Services and Amount Deduction against it

Hi,

Again Airtel has activated services automatically and deducted my whole money with in 15 days of recharge without making a single call/sms. This happened earlier as well and I posted the complaint here and they credited Rs. 40 back out of Rs 100.

Since this is happening again and again, I request TRAI to take strict action against Airtel for following un-ethical practices for making money. I called airtel customer care 198 many times but always got a response that system in under upgrade please call after 4 hours. I tried to port the number and send a SMS for porting to 1900 but rejected.

Please do the needful ASAP.

Hey! What's going on? I got a call from Airtel executive but nothing is resolved till now. See said that Rs 10 will be credited back. I asked why Rs 10 out of 100? Then see told me that see will check and let me know.

Is this the way of marking the complaints resolved?

Airtel Pre - Paid — False Balance Deductions

After repeated reminders and calls at the Prepaid Customer Care of AIRTEL - They are deducting call money from my prepaid connection without my cell being in use for any calls, SMS and GPRS. I have not downloaded any stuff and they are charging. I am using Samsung Galaxy 551 (Android).

Pathetic Service and poor Response rate - I will strongly recommend not to use Airtel any further if this problem is not rectified and compensated to me next week.

Airtel — improper money deduction, wrong information

I am using airtel internet access through my mobile on my laptop for which i recharge with Rs.98 & get 1GB valid for 1 month. But after accessing internet, airtel is deducting money from my main account aswell from my dedicated account(internet). I called 121 they say call 12118 says call [protected] says call 198 all r airtel customer care nos, each time i call them i have to pay, so wrong information, some how or other airtel is making money.
198 register a complaint & says it will be solved in 2days, even after 2days i m facing the problem, I call 198 again they register a complaint, but i m still facing the problem. So nothing is impossible in India, these service provider like airtel,vodafone etc some how or other way they wiil cheat their customers, otherwise how r they going to pay their staff & make profit. No busines can be prfitable without cheating their customer.

AirTel — Deduction of money for service which I did NOT activate

Today morning I got a mesage from Airtel, the no was AD-54321, it said : Thank You for downloading Hungama Content game from Airtel, you have been charged Rs 10 for this service.

I was sleeping at night, so how will I activate this service? I got the message in early morning. Customer Care agents refused to refund the money.

Please take note, and Airtel- refund my money.
Money has been refunded. Thanks Airtel.

Please refrain from activating such services randomly in future.

This is Senthil working in Bangalore, and i was using AIRTEL pre-paid number([protected]) for last 5 - 6 years when i am in Tamilnadu circle, now the number is out of service. I check with customer care nearly 21st August 2011 they informed me to submit the ID proff and required documents to AIRTEL dealers , i submitted the same in AIRTEL dealer near Saradha College in Salem(Application Number :[protected]. Then waited for few days and again as i check with the customer care they informed that the number was disable since the number was not in use for more than 90 days and the number was disabled from 1st August 2011.

But i had recharged the same number with Rs. 350/- on 16th June 2011 and finally i used the same number on 23rd july 2011for some outgoing and in coming calls while i was in Tamilnadu. Again i checked with customer care they informed that i can retain the same number with post-paid connection. I had mailed the same to [protected]@airtel.in but there is no response.

How the AIRTEL can directly disable the number without any prior warning like blocking the outgoing calls then blocking the incoming calls and they are making their business like this by blocking per-paid and informing the customer to change to post-paid?

Kindly provide me the valid reason why they had blocked and disabled the number.

Hi,

I faced similar problems with Airtel in Allahabad. My documents were taken. The Airtel team lost them. They asked again, meanwhile temporarily disconnecting my number. All my available prepaid amount was gone, THEY STOLE IT. Again, I submitted. A month later again my SIM card was deactivated. On inquiring, they said that I have not submitted my details. They again asked me to. The same thing happened. They again WIPED AWAY MY PREPAID BALANCE. In both cases when my connection was back, I was left with ZERO BALANCE. I went abroad for two and a half months. When I returned, I saw that my number has already been allocated to someone in Gorakhpur (I am from Allahabad). Now, the stupid Airtel people, they take all your details, email ID, permanent address, temporary address and what not. They did not even bother to intimate me that they are doing so. I have a connection from a rival company, they never deactivated my number. My number was [protected]. Now, when they deleted my number, they STOLE AWAY THE REMAINING BALANCE AGAIN. So, it was just harassment. I am in the way to create a website stating the fraud Airtel, Indiaplaza and few others are creating and never to BUY FROM THEM. AIRTEL's BEHAVIOUR IS COMPLETELY UNETHICAL, besides my SIM card was a lifetime SIM card and so two and a half months can't have done any harm.

Hi,

I am using numbers from VODAFONE and AIRCEL also, but in VODAFONE they are providing an acknowledgment receipt for submitting the document.

Even my friend in have not submitted the document in AIRCEL, AIRCEL had blocked the outgoing first and after submitting the document they have unblocked the outgoing.

When i was using the AIRTEL number [protected](pre-paid) i had a balance of Rs.340/-. Now it was stolen by AIRTEL.

A Government rule to submit the document is helping AIRTEL to make money like this...

Nowadays my friend also compliants that they are losing amounts for some service activations.

Please share the portals / websites for sharing the frauds done by AIRTEL to the customers.

Dear All,

For the above issue a Executive from Airtel named Krishna called for enquiring the problem, i have provided the details. Finally he also providing the same reason as the number is ready for next cycle, there is an option in Airtel to get the same number. And the number was blocked as i have not used it for morethan 90 days.

Dear Airtel team please update your software as i have recharged the number for Rs.350/- on June 16 2011 and the number was blocked on July 1 2011 in which the balance will be there for atleast Rs.300/-, this is not 90 days and your software also not showing this log.

Again request you to not to activate my number as i dont want to use the service which will disconnect in a while which was used nearly more than 5 years and i have not seen such a disconnection from other service providers and Please dont investigate again to provide the same information as i have to guess/think AIRTEL is cheating me again and again.

Finally lost the number used for more than 5 years and recharge amount more than Rs. 300/-
Whats the use of filing complaint in this, after raising complaint the vendors are calling or mailing for this once or twice and finally this is useless work to file as i am not getting my amount or justice with these complaints.

Totally i think its useless...

    AIRTEL DIGITAL SETUP BOX — SETUP BOX IS NOT WORKING

    Dear Airtel,
    It is so nonsence to receive a message from AIRTEL CUSTOMER CARE regarding the closure of complaint. In fact, AIRTEL engineer/employee had never visited/attended the place of complaintant. It is height of harrasement for me.
    Dear sir I would like to draw your attention that I have registered complaint on May 26, 2010. And thenafter everyday, I had requested to Customer care for timely followup.I have discussed with the customer care at least for 7 to 8 times. I have also discussed with engineer of the company for 4-5 times. I have also registered complaint at [protected]@airtel.in. However, no active action has been taken from AIRTEL. I have no option except to go for consumer court or writ petition to other judisiary authority.
    My regisgtered Mobile no. [protected].

    I dont wish to associate with the said highly nonsence company. I want to file suit against the company.

      My name is Alpesh Tomar from ahmedabad i am using airtel sim card since last near by last 7 month .I am the regular cutomer of airtel
      but i am not happy the service of airtel . Because the company is deducting unnessecary balance from my accoun . On 14/10/2011 at near by 11 pm
      i just made a call to my friend and after disconnecting the call what i have seen that company had deducted 20 rs from account . I got the message that your caller tune service is started but i never told them to start all these bull .When i called the custumer care one of the person recive the call and told think to him .After that he told i cat refund your balance .Then i told ok no problem dont refund the balance but just transfer the call to
      your manager or supervisor , so what the answer i got from that gay the supervisor is on in office i will not transfer the call .After doing so many argument at last that gay has transfer the call .He transfer me to someone to the person whose name was lokesh chaudhary again i explain whole
      think to him .These gay is saying that after all conversatoin that you not get balance back and he is also not giving any satisfactory answer to me . After all these thinks i have also made the complane for think and that extra deduction of my balance of my call charges . My airtel to airtel call charges are 10 paise per minite and other mobile 60 paise per minite . On 14/10/2011 at evening at the time of near by 7 pm i call on my one of my friends number who is using airtel only and i have talk to her for 3.17 minites according to that company have to deduct 40 paise but they have deducted 90 paise, and after that i asked that according to what you have deducted these charges ,then what did they answer we dont have any detail of your call charges what is going with my number and also gave me someone personal mobile number and told that talk to her in morning. why should will call any personly? .And these is not first time they had done several times all these thinks but because i am not getting time that why dont done the complane . so now i want answer for all these thinks .i hope that i will get the positive support from your side ....My contact no is [protected] you can reach me any time on these no and my email id is [protected]@gmail.com .Hope that you will also not going to demotivate me .......

      Airtel — automatic activation of Friends Cat

      I have recently started using airtel prepaid on my mobile number [protected] with iphone and recharged it for 444. I got a message that Friendz and MKR had been activated automaticallly @ Rs. 30 for 30 days. How can a charge be made to my account without the specific instructions from my side. This money needs to be refunded.

      On change of chip I also got the message that for GPRS is had to call a number 12118. I called this number 4 times and when i pressed button to speak to CC executive it hung up. Moreover I realized that in this process my account had been debited by some 100 odd rupees.

      What a bakwas and horrible way of cheating people! In case I do not get this issue resolved and money refunded, I am going to write to TRAI for this.

      on 2nd thoughts, I will write to TRAI as it is as they are cheating n number of other users who do not have access to way of complaining. It should be mandatory for them to take prior approval for each charge except call and sms and give a summary of charges made in the last 1 week.

        I am AZAD KHAN PATHAN. I want to convert in prepaid from my post paid No.- [protected]. but no responce from your airtel store . they says if you want convert in prepaid this number that is impossible. you can PORT other company after pay our dues but we cant prepaid because according our company rules we cant prepaid this number before 6 months using by you.
        I want to go with Airtel but my minimum use on this number so please convert my post paid no.[protected] in prepaid.

        this is very difficult to change from post paid to pre-paid as per my personal experience with three big brands Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance...its too diffcult.these mobile companies often seen reluctant in changing nos...the procedure should be made easy...consumer are not theifs tell us where to fax or email ur required document we can do that but donot treat ur consumers like that...if someone cannt afford to use post paid but that someone is still using ur prepaid whts the problem rather than not getting anything ur gatting something just bee happy...company folk...

        Sir,
        SUBJECT : CONVERSION OF PRE-PAID TEL CONNECTION [protected] TO POST-PAID
        I was approached by one of your representatives on ‘phone with the above proposal.
        I had been interacting with Airtel [on a Noida ‘phone[protected],[protected]] for this purpose. I had submitted all dox, as desired and yesterday I got SMS [March 23 at 13.44pm] “Prepaid to post paid conversion of your airtel mobile number has been initiated”, and two more [March 24 at 20.45pm] “The prepaid conversion has started and it will take max 4 hrs” & [March 24 at 20.45pm] “Address verification for pre-paid to post-paid conversion of your airtel mobile has been completed. The conversion will start shortly”.
        Now there is no net-work and after I switched the tel off & then on; the display reads, “SIM registration failed”. I am really stuck. I have received at least 20 e-mail messages (from Kong Kong, S’pore and London) that they cannot reach me as my telephone is “switched off”. This is ludicrous!
        Please note that this action o[censored]nilaterally blocking my SIM while there was credit balance on my pre-paid without any intimation to me is absolutely illegal and I shall be entitled to claim all business losses from Airtel.
        Further, you shall be held responsible for all consequences that follow if my above SIM is NOT activated instantly as I do not know as to how many of my business colleagues are trying to reach me.

          i was a postpaid customer of airtel for almost six years continuously and i always believed that there is no match for its customer care in india, but when i wanted to come back to airtel after a gap of two years i met with such cold response from ur staff that i decided not go for it,this is an incident o[censored]r customer care centre in old gajuwak, visakhapatnam, AP, on NH of 10 oct 11 at around 1845 hrs, i asked for plans and rate of modem and related things but he behaved in such a manner that he did not want me to become his customer,he was busy with other work , there was not even single customer for him to deal with, this incident has left me heart broken as i had wonderful six years with airtel

              People from Airtel Legal Department call on my number and ask to make the payment for a number, which I have no concern with. i am not an airtel customer. Inspite of repeated conversations saying that I am not or I have not used that number i have no concern with that person, the ladies from the said department talk very rudely and ask me why am I not paying that, you have to reminder that person for pay the bill. see one thing i am not working in your department and its not my work to collect the payment or given reminder. you get the salary for that so you have to do that work. How and why can they compel me to pay some other's payment? When enquired they say that the person who has taken that sim has mentioned my number as his relative. I want to take legal action against these people. And they should learn to behave properly.

                In month of June, I requested airtel to installed Wi Fi instead of basic Modem ( installed since inception in 2005). on 19th June, Wi Fi was installed by paying Rs. 1499/- vide inv no 21354 , dated 19/06/11 as communicated to me. on 2nd of Aug ' i lodged complain vide ref no 1698422 since Wi Fi was not responding, on 3rd of Aug. enginner came and recommended to replace the Wi Fi. I again spoke to customer care of Airtel to replace the WiFi but they refused to replace this Wi Fi saying that it is more than one year old. I gave they invoice refernce as well but they suggested to visit manufacture for its warranty. I called universal Telecome & traders for repair/replace the defect Wi Fi. The dealer refuse to entertain this since this Wi Fi was purchased through Air Tel. They agian i registered the compalin through ref no 5538108,5618772 dated 12th Oct & 13th Oct.

                But no one from airtel came up atted this complain so far. I have not been able to use internet from Aug'11.

                    My Airtel prepaid mobile no. is [protected]. I am being charged for incoming calls even though I'm not on roaming @50p/min. Customer care is talking gibberish, saying new things every time I call. First he says that I have dual sim, the next time he says that my Airtel Live is activated and then that Hungama offer is activated; all of which is absolutely nonsense. I would like to request you kindly to look into the matter and refund the balance that has been unfairly deducted. (The problem started from yesterday 14th October. 2011)
                    Early response will be appreciated.

                    Airtel Prepaid Service — Paying for a service which i had not opted for

                    I have a pre paid mobike connection from Airtel. I keep on recieving marketing smses from airtel, which i never responded to. To my utter surprise i have been noticed that for the last 3 months an amount of Rs. 30 is deducted from my talktime every month. I wsa clueless as to why it was happening and called up airtel call centre. The IVR voice kept saying that i should dial 198 for complaints but it itself is a complaint that even after dialing 198 there is no response. Then few days back i got an sms from Airtel that i am availing some o request service because of which i am tarriffed 30Rs. per month and that is going to be renewed. Now i have never opted for any on demand service, neither am i aware of any such service on my connection. I dont know how to get rid of it nor to whom i should complain?

                    Airtel Prepaid Service — Being charged for service, I have not opted for

                    Sir, I have an Airtel Prepaid Service on Mobile No.[protected]. I have never opted for any value added service nor did I receive any message or a call for initiation of such service. However, from 12th August, I am receiveing SMSs from the No. 290603 on the pretext of 'Thought for the day' and 'Love tips' and Rs. 3/- are being deductet for every sms. Therefore, to know if any service is operational I send a STOP message on service No. 121 and received a message on 13.08 at 11.27pm stating "kindly note there are no services active on your Airtel Number." Consequently, I went to Airtel ARC at Girgaum and registered the complaint on the No. 999 on an available phone on 14.08.09. Till that time I had recieved atleast 12 SMSs, however the Customer Care intimated that the service is being stopped and also credited Rs. 27 for 9 SMSs stating "Dear Customer, amount of Rs. 27 has been credited on your Airtel prepaid account on 14.08.09. Thank you." The Customer Care neither provided me any details about how the service was inacted nor did regret.
                    In spite of this ordeal, still the service is active on my mobile. SMSs are being sent to me and an amount of Rs. 3/- is being debited from my prepaid account for every SMS.
                    I do not know whether airtel is doing this deleberately to torture their customers to leave their network. But the mental agony to an individual is unbearable when one sees his hard earned money being taken away from his pocket in bits and incessantly. Shall we wait for the GOD to punish such demons or any authority is there for such pious vocation?
                    Subject of Complaint: Deduction of amount on pretext of Hellow Tunes.

                    My Airtel Prepaid mobile no. is[protected]

                    Today on[protected], My balance Was Rs. 165.73 which was suddenly reduced by Rs. 30/- due to the services of Hellow Tunes... WHICH I NEVER ASKED FOR. Hence the balance is now Rs. 135.73 only.

                    Kindly note that this is a very serious matter and who is playing mischief from AIR tel's side.
                    Kindly look into the matter and refund my 30/- Rupees at the earliest.

                    Airtel Prepaid — charging for the service not opted

                    I am from Delhi and my mobile No.is [protected]. I got a message yesterday morning that Rs.30/- will be deducted for a service called Air tel talkies which I have never heard or subscribed and finds no time for such a service. Accordingly, de-activation was made by me and the return mail was received. Surprisingly, by evening I have noticed that Rs.30/- is deducted from my A/C. Upon this, I have called the call center personal and he told that he will place the request for retrieval of the money. But later it is found that again a sum of Rs.30/- is again deducted. Thus a total sum of Rs.60/- has been deducted so far without resolving the matter. Kindly do the needful
                    Similar situation occured to me. I have airtel connection in bangalore, with mobile no [protected]. Twice I got message like Thanks for using Airtel Live and Rs.10/- has been deducted towards charge. I didnt even click for browsing. I called up customer care to confirm this thing. Then he mentioned I have browsed on my mobile (which I dont have settings even) and he also mentioned the sites and time of browsing. The sites which he has mentioned are not to my knowledge atleast (I didnt even know that particular url exists). I complained I havent used and said u can check in my browsing history if I had used really. He couldnt answer. Total of Rs.20/- has been deducted without my use. This is not fair.
                    i have gone thru all these complaints. but is there anybody to take action?
                    Without any activation my airtel mobile is deducting some amount from my air tel mobile everyday. My mobile number is [protected]. Kindly help m, e in this matter as I can not afford to lose money like this sir. Thanking you

                        We had received a sms stating "Dear Customer, the validity of your digital tv ID: [protected] will expire in next 15 days. Please recharge before 29th oct with RC 310 and get Rs 15 bonus!" and we received similar messages before previous months too... and same way we also recharging with 310 to get 15 Rs bonus as per they stating to use the offer.

                        The complaint is about airtel dth are not crediting the 15 Rs bonus money to our account unless we call, complaint and arguing with them for an hours.

                        The matter is not about bonus money, the matter is about the misleading and deceptive offers they are sending us through SMS without stating any terms and conditions and not even one star for any applied conditions..

                        I am not sure about for how many customers they are cheating and making money through this way. Please verify at its background and rectify for future days.

                        Even if they cheat one customer 15 rs per month and it might totals to crores for n number of customer for just one month.

                        We support true ad/offers/sms..... but not the other side.

                        Airtel DTH — misleading ads, poor customer service

                        I received a message from Airtel DTH on my mobile that recharge with Rs 2010/- and get 7% extra on or before jan 07, 2010. I recharged on jan 07 even though my a/c was active till Feb 27, 2010, till date i have not received 7% money, I have called end number of times, even talked to many supervisors, each one assured my i will get in 24 hrs but, they also have given so many complaint numbers, but still i have not receivd it. They have also refused to return my money back . Please let me know how can I sue them.

                            I raised a request to transfer my airtel broadband connection from sector 22, noida to sector 34, noida (Within the city) some 15 days back. The customer care executive said it will hardly take 3 days for airtel to do this. Unfortunately, it has been 15 days and we have not got the airtel broadband working at our new place inspite of continous follow ups. I have been calling and complaining to customer care almost everyday, but they hardly care about it.

                              I have an Airtel broadband connection since last 3 years. Recently I converted my Internet into Wifi and for that I purchased Router from Airtel of Rs 1500 including 1 yrs warranty. After 2 months the router is not working and my Internet is dead without it.

                              I'm logging complaint since last week to Airtel customer care and generate around 10 complaints. But every time executive visit says you router is faulty , you need to take it to service center. Once it's fixed called us and we'll fix the Internet or purchase a new router. I told then I'm just bought it 2 months ago and it's in warranty period but they said you need to take to service center, our policy changed. WTF, while selling router they said we'll take care of all complaint till 1 yrs and now saying we can't.

                              They I called customer care help line and tell them I want to cancel this connection due to bad service. Then suddenly they try to manipulate me please don't cancel connection and their superior talked to me and said don't worry we'll take care of it and your problem will solved tomorrow. I waited but executive say same thing you need to take to service center. I again called customer service and same thing happened , another superior talked me and said tomorrow your problem will solve, I promised. I gave them one more chance.


                              Next day another executive came , look the router and noted down its serial number. then he said right now I don't have any modem to give you. It's out of stock and lots of other people are also in queue to replace it. Then I asked how much time it'll take and he doesn't know may be 1 or 2 months or 6 months. It means I'm out of Internet at home for 2-6 months ;(

                              This is the service which is Airtel providing to customer. It's going worst day by day in services. If any Airtel Authority is reading this please take some action otherwise you will loose your long term customers and become the worst Internet provider soon.

                              I'll definitely cancel this connection and will not pay any bill.

                                I TOOK AN AIR TEL POST PAID CONNECTION ON DATED 16/09/2011, THE MOBILE NO WAS ACTIVATED ON DATED,17/09/2011, AFTER THAT I GOT A CALL REGARDING VERIFICATION OF ADDRESS, AT THAT TIME I WAS IN OFFICE SO I TOLD THAT PLEASE COME BEFORE 10.00 AM ANY DAY, NEXT DAY SAME TIME THERE WAS CALL REGARDING VERIFICATION, I TOLD THE CONCERN PERSON THE SAME THING, HE TOLD OK, ON VERY NEXT DAY MY NO WAS DISCONNECTED . AFTER THAT I VISITED THE AIR TEL OFFICE THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THE CONCERN PERSON WILL VISIT ON MONDAY BY 10.00AM, I WAITED FOR HIM BY 10.30AM EVEN I CALLED HIM ON HIS CELL BUT HE DID NOT PICKED MY CALL, AGAIN I WENT IN AIR TEL OFFICE THEN I WAS GIVEN A COMPLAINT NO i.e. 39923664, BUT AGAIN THE CONCERN PERSON DIDNT CAME, AGAIN AFTER 7 DAYS A PERSON CAME AT MY RESIDENCE AND ASKED SOME QUESTION RELATED TO ME AND MY JOB AND TOLD ME THAT HE IS FROM AIR TEL AND ITS REGARDING MY POST PAID CONNECTION VERIFICATION.                                   the following emails were sent to airtel nodal officers in delhi, punjab & haryana. however, no response apart from an auto-generated mail has been received to resolve the problem




                                  sir/ ma'am,

                                  1. i'm using an airtel prepaid no., [protected], since aug 11. the no. was subscribed to, from chandigarh.

                                  2. since 02 oct, i'm in gurgaon (for a short duration). as is obvious, my no. was working in roaming & was providing all the subscribed services.

                                  3. however, since the evening of 10 oct, approx 1700 hrs, the no. stopped working.

                                  4. the same evening i called 121, who instead told me to call up the customer care in punjab, since as per them, the resolution of the problem was not possible from here in delhi, DOES THAT NOT SOUND STRANGE & UNBELIEVABLE IN THIS SO CALLED AIRTEL 3G ERA???? they even gave me a no. [protected], to call upon.

                                  5. the no. never responded except for the recorded "ivr message" & i could not talk to any person there.

                                  6. i reverted to 121 with this problem & was told that no other no. to contact at punjab was available with them. the individual's name was Karan, who upon my insistence further referred me to the supervisor named Anubhav, who too, came up with no solution & gave the same explanation. on this response i asked him for a reference/ docket no. of our conversation & i got a reply that the same will be made available via sms on the no. i was calling from ie. [protected]. no sms with regard to the same was recieved.

                                  7. with no help in sight i waited for the next morning.

                                  8. 11th oct, i went to the customer relation centre in sahara mall in gurgaon, which unfortunately for me, was closed (weekly holiday). there i asked the guard, if tue is a weekly holiday at all such airtel centers including delhi & believe me, forget replying to the ques, he almost shrugged me off...!!

                                  9. thereafter, from a friend at chandigarh who was somehow able to contact the customer care at punjab i came to know that there is some technical problem with the sim & i need to show it at a customer relations centre to resolve the problem. so AGAIN, another day passed by....

                                  10. its 12th oct now, ie. today. with all hopes, i went to the centre in sahara mall gurgaon, customer no. 38, and told the individual on the concerned counter (well, i didnt read his name) about the problem. though his reaction, just like all the previous ones, was the inability to resolve the problem from gurgaon.... but upon me telling him the whole story in brief, he, i guess, did his best, called about 4 to 6 people, took a good 25 to 30mins, wrote an email to the concerned individual, informedd me that the sim was fine and since the problem is with the 'software/ operating systems' assured me that the problem will be resolved by 1800hrs. however, he could not give any reference/ complaint no. as he said that the complaint has been raised internally in their own office network.

                                  11. well, its almost midnight now & i'm writing this mail hoping that my no. would resume workin tomorrow....!!??

                                  12. i request you to kindly take into consideration the inconvenience that has been faced both with my no. not working for more than 2 days now & also in the resolution of the same...

                                  13. it seems like the staff has no 'responsibility/ answerability' to their actions & also i must 'express myself' here that, the functioning also appears to be that of the post-office era rather than the 3G era....

                                    I would like to bring into the notice the cheap tactics employed by Airtel to reject the number porting out of their network, as after my experience I am convinced that this is not the operator to be with and I will make sure many more should flee this cheap operator.
                                    I generated the unique porting code Sep 28th to port this number to Vodafone (I am not going to discuss why I decided though after the porting experience till now I think I will never even think of Airtel again) and submitted the request to Vodafone on 3rd Oct. After 7 days I started following up with both the operator about the status but no one provided me actual status Vodafone said it is still in process and Airtel told they don't know anything about this yesterday out of blue moon I received a call from Airtel saying that they will offer me 10Paisa local A2A and 25 to other number and 50 paise STD for 1 Rs daily rental on my existing prepaid if I decide to be with them which I politely declined and suddenly I received a message from Vodafone stating that my porting request has been rejected by Airtel due to there are subsisting contractual obligation from the subscriber agreement!! what the heck !! what agreement what the hell did you provide me free of cost to sign a agreement with Airtel after this I searched the internet and found that Airtel is doing this most of prepaid subscriber by saying lifetime validity is contractual obligation and using this as excuse to reject the porting rather than improving network and India's worst customer service who doesn't even know what is English let alone speaking I am not sure why they that in menu to say select 1 or 2 for English when you know every-time you will be greeted by someone who doesn't even know anything about what is MNP or any other things.
                                    I would like to let everyone know who are trying to port out of Airtel to be aware of these cheap tactics and be prepared to struggle to get your right i'.e to port the number where you want it to be, and for the others who are even dreaming of getting into Airtel please wake up and forget that once upon a time Airtel used to be good it is worst than the worst operator you might find in any 4th world country.
                                    And if by chance anyone from Airtel happen to read this then please try to retain customer by good customer service and network rather this cheap tactics.
                                    Ofcourse I will write to their nodal office and wherever possible to get me ported out before taking any legal decision and making Airtel pay me for all these agony.

                                      Unasked Service & Paying to Stop It!
                                      An Open Letter to TRAI

                                      As a consumer of Airtel Mobile [No [protected]], I have a serious complaint to make against the company. I’ve good reason to believe thousands of other consumers also suffer this nagging problem, as I do. Let me make bold, therefore, to write this open letter to TRAI, in the expectation the telecom regulator will take steps to end a thriving unethical practice in the telecom industry.

                                      By a SMS message to customers on Oct 10, the company put through a Live Aarti service, unilaterally. And to make it seem as if the customer had asked for it, the message said ‘Thank you for subscribing’ ...I myself knew nothing about it beforehand. What’s more outrageous, it made it known I had been charged Rs 10 for 7 days… a quiet debit from the pre-paid account I keep with the company. For argument sake, I could stop the service by calling 552230, but it was just that I found no such STOP option when I phoned that number.

                                      I am not persuaded that a customer any where should pay for what he has not asked to buy. Can a shop in our neighbourhood get away in a case of this kind? In the event, it’s an unfair business practice that doesn’t behove the country’s leading mobile service provider, to say the least.

                                      As they’ll tell you when you phone 552230 at Airtel, the service on offer has to do with Aarti from Shri Tirupati Balaji and several other renowned temples in the country. The devotees are encouraged to seek blessings by performing the Aarti . A multilingual service, it clearly targets lakhs of people across the country. Small payments add up to a huge kitty. A thriving big business in the name of God!

                                      It’s no one-time payment, either. ‘Tirupati Live Service will be renewed in 3 days,’ a curt Airtel SMS advised me today. ‘You’ll be charged Rs.10 for 7 days.’ Elsewhere in these columns, I’ve taken up this matter twice [see Debit against Unasked Service & Charging for an Unsubscribed Service]. No way out. I was trapped without an exit option. Almost. However, after considerable effort and a good Rs.10.50 in STD outgo, I was able finally to get Airtel’s Karnataka Helpline to stop the unsubscribed service.

                                      What about others who are similarly saddled with one or another kind o[censored]nasked programme?

                                      Dear sirs,

                                      I am prepaid mobile uuser. My mobile no is [protected].

                                      I have received a message stating that Mobile office settings have been delivered to my phone without my knowledge. It is mentioned that by long pressing '0' key, mobile videos can be browsed and downloaded. I am not interested in the offer. But I am disabled to rply to reject the offer, thereby forcing me to accept.

                                      Although I do not want to use that service, it is possible that I may have to use the '0' key, and pressing it for long for other purposes. This will be treated as enough reason to recover unreasonable charges from me out of my prepaid balance.

                                      I feel this is not only harrasing but also cheating by the Service provider . I request you to please direct the service provider to remove the unasked for service and also take necessary action to prevent such malafide actions by the service provider

                                      Airtel — STOP UNASKED SERVICE

                                      This is the third time I am complaining... I never subscribed to the Gurukul Service, but your Airtel is deducting amount of 30/- per month from my no. [protected]. Its been 2 years of activation of this service means 720/- has been deducted from my phone balance till now of no reason!!!
                                      Many times I typed STOP and sended to 121 to check the service subscribed by me but I came to know that there is no service active in my number... so why this service is not shown in the list of subscribed service if money is deducting???????

                                      I am amazed to see the working of an organization like yours. I was not expecting this kind of service & experience from AIRTEL. It is really hopeless and shameful.
                                      Please look into the matter, stop the service and return the money asap...
