On 2-5-2010 I travelled from Tirupati to Secundrabad by Narayanadri Express. Initially my Class-III A/C ticket was wait-listed, but on the day of journey I was allotted B2-64(Side Upper Berth). I felt lots of inconvenience in getting in to berth and coming out of the berth. This is because the distance between the berth and the roof (Curved roof) is very short. Same difficulties are being experienced in Sleeper class also.

Recently, in order to provide one extra berth (Side Middle Berth) the Side Upper Berth was lifted. This arrangment was not appreciated by the Passengers due to lots of inconveninet faced by the passengers. Subsequently, the side middle berth was removed. But the side upper berths were not to brought to its original place and hence the same difficulties are being experienced by the passengers.

I would request the convcerned authorities to look into this problem and do the needful so that the passengers will have comfortable journey..

Indian Railways — Not comfortable with Upper Berth

Respected Sir/Madam
With reference to above mentioned subject, customers are facing the problem during their journey for congested area in the upper birth, not able to sit comfortably. Reason being these are Railway have altered the two seats to three seats and changed to two seats because of cost reduction or other reasons.
But the problem is when railway department changed to three seats to two seats, same has to be altered to same position as before two seats were. Due to the bad planning of engineering and work done, passengers are not able to sit by lifting there head and it is totally strain to travelling.
During our journey to Kerala and Kerala to Bangalore, these problems were faced. Please resolve this problem for the better service to passengers.

    I have Filled Railway Reservation Request form indicating Destination Station Ghaziabad but after booking i found Resv clerk (Mr. P.N. Shukla) has made Destination railway Station as New delhi which made me to pay extra charges so my concern is that why such kind of ignorance and careless is done by Resv. Clerk when i have filled clearly all information in Block letters and when i asked him, he told me"KUCH NAHI HOTA" and u have to pay 40 Rs extra if yopu cancel the ticket so why passenger has to suffer a big problem which is caused by Railway Reservation clerk, its not issue of money, issue of highly ignorance and careless

    Looking forward for your help by which i got mentaly and economically harashed

        sir this is my duty to inform to the citizen of india about railways .in my life i seen more about railways.this is present situation in staff selection in ICF and locoworks in chennai.getting railway job for one person in afamily with all qualification is very difficult.but here the some people who are retired family the entire family is getting in railway when so many peoples are waiting for their future in proper way.even now for the clerica;l job so many people who are working they prepared to put his wife sister and daughter for the particular post by the way of paying bribe with support of railway union with few members support.
        ihope that people who is concern about the country and society will take this issue seriously

          My Name: M.G.Shridhar
          Designation : Manager – Supply Chain / Logistics at Eureka Forbes Limited

          With deep regrets I am writing this mail.

          I was travelling on 24th April 2010 from Dehradun to Delhi vide PNR no. [protected], train no. 2206.The TT s rude behavior was very much hurt to my personality and I was treated very badly as if I am travelling without a ticket. I am very much stressed due to this and I had to get a doctors treatment due high Blood pressure at Bangalore when I reached that Sunday morning . In fact I thought of lodging a police complaint at Delhi police station itself. Unfortunately I had to catch the Bangalore flight on 25th April Morning at 6.45 AM.

          I was very much carrying the valid ID proof card, i.e. Driving license, but as per TT / TS , the Driving license what I was carrying not a original one. I don’t understand , why he was shouting like this and the whole compartment people assembled in that horrible mid night and telling this TT to keep cool, but in vein. Also I showed my SBI Pass book (which was a original one), but neither he was in a position to listen nor to look at it.

          I have been travelling for the last 15 years (with the same ID proof card by road/ rail / air) I never faced this situation all these days. Nobody objected that , the ID proof driving license card was a fake one and not a valid card which I have been carrying all along.

          Any way now, assuming that what I was carrying is not a original one , he could have charged some penalty. But he has charged double the amount of the railway fare i.e Rs 581 + Rs 581 = Rs 1162/- apart from the original payment of Rs 581 + Rs 300 (tatkal charges) = Rs 881/-. This act we could see in no rule book and never have been implied.

          Hence I would request you to refund Rs 1182 + Rs 5000/- as defamatory charges apart from initiating action on the TT. Otherwise I would be forced to proceed to the consumer court.

          Please confirm and revert at the earliest.

          This is not fair on Railways as the customer is very much travelling with the ticket & carrying a valid photo Id proof (may be not original)

            Dear Indian Railway,

            This is Sagar Shanbal. Me and my friend were traveling from Vashi to Thane yesterday Morning. Instead of Ticket, we had purchased Coupons, unfortunately the Coupons punching machine were not working and the stamp was not provided in Vashi station. We complaint about that in Vashi Station however it was not taken care of in the mean while the train came and we were getting late so without any option we catch the train.
            The ticket checker came in train at Airoli Station, we gave them the coupons and inform them that the machine were not working, however they ask us for bribe. We ignore for that, the ticket checkers then started showing bad behavior. When the train arrived at Thane Station, they then caught our collar and in a very bad way they take us to office and then they behaved in a badly manner, we tried to complaint that to the Station Master, however the Station was included with them and he shouted at us.

            This is a request if anyone can take a action against them since they think they owe the railway and we are a beggar in front of them.

              Respected Madam,
              This is to bring your knowledge that trains are running so late. Due to this my brother will miss his interview in a MNC in Delhi. The interview is schedule at 2.30 pm. on 25th of April 2010. With a very short notice he has booked the ticked in train number 0415/Lucknow to Anand Vihar Delhi for the date 24th April 2010. The train is running from Patna to Delhi via Lucknow. Right time in lucknow is 23.45 pm. and in Delhi is 9.15 am. But now it's 10.30am of 25th April and still my brother is waiting for the train at lucknow station. Train is running 11+hr late. Current status is the train will reach to lucknow at 02.00 pm. It means he will be in Delhi around 10.00 pm. In this case he is going to miss the interview. I just want to raise the voice that who is responsible for this career spoiling mistake. I just want to know if the old trains can't run on time why the new trains have been lunching. Who is responsible for this. All the higher Authority of railway is taking higher salary for dong nothing. Indian Railways should be privatized.

                I am posted at Gwalior City sence 2007 December.The only direct train available for howrah from here is Chambal Express. It is a super-fast train (No 2176 &2178) but as per my knowledge it never reaches to the destination in time both way. Always late by 2 to 3 hours sence last 2 years.Earlier it was not super fast that time it sometimes reached in time. This is the true Mamata's true duranta train .Ha Ha Ha....

                Due to your late running, my father and sister are being alone in hydrabad because of miss kakinada express for just only 5mints. i had reserved two ticket in kakinada express but due to your train 3hrs late they reached late at secundrabad railway station.

                my sister had an appoinment in apollo hospital for just routine checkup for eyes for just 10 mins process. but they generally reached at begampet station at10:00AM but due to your 3hrs late running they reached on 01:45Pm on begampet and then they quickly move to the hospital and then for secundrabad railway station. but for just 5minutes they miss the train and NOW THEY ARE ALONE THERE.

                So, WHAT AM I DO? WHAT THEY ARE DO? just because of your poor service?

                  i've booked my Bajaj Pulsar 180CC motor cycle from Bathinda via delhi on 12/04/2010 (Receipt no 925551)(Regn No KA04EC9440). from 16th April onwards i'm trying to check luggage status. but the railway staffs says "your luggage has not been reached till now and we are not able to say the status of your luggage like where it is and when will be delivered by sitting in this office. Because there is no way to find your status from this station.but if you are not receive your bike on the same date of reaching, we will collect Rs 10 per hour (Rs 240 per day)as penalty."being unaware of luggage status and reaching date, how can i receive my bike without prior notice/information.is that the correct manner/customer care/ honesty. After receiving thousands of rupees why can't the railway answering a customer about the delivery date as being a india's biggest rail network, while some small networks like courier companies can spot status within a fraction of seconds and answering honestly with respect.please kindly infrom me about the status and delivery date by phone or written.i'm so tired of trying to clarify this matter and now it's becoming a daily routine stress for me.

                    I m Surendra khandelwal from new Delhi. I traveled from Mumbai central to Nizamuddin station in Delhi, by train "Golden temple mail" on date 19/4/2010. My ticket was not conformed, one man came to me and said that he can arrange a ticket for me. He took Rs. 3000 from me and gave me a fake ticket for the train and told me that after Surat station T.T. will give me my seat in 2tier A.C. coach. But when T.T. came he told me that this is not a valid ticket and i have to pay penalty now. Then he made a new ticket for me in the normal non-a.c. coach for Rs. 820. And all those fake ticket brokers at the Mumbai central station are doing this work in the presence of railway police and other railway officers. And i was not the only victim, there were many other passengers who suffered a lot because of those ticket brokers. Please take some needful action against these type of anti-social elements of society as well as against the Railway police and officers who are involved in these activities.

                      I have sumbitted the Medical Claim of Rs. One lakh and eight thousand( Approx.) reimbursement on 29/12/2009 to Medical Director,B R Singh Hospital, Sealdah-Earstern Railway. However even passing of three and half months. I have not got the amount nor any intimation. It is to your kind notice that I am Window and drawing family pension. I need money urgently to met my after operation expenditure . You are therefore requested to do the needful at the earliest.

                        Subject: Complaint against the miss behavior done by the daily passenger in Ranaghat Local.

                        Dear Sir / Madam,

                        With due respect we Citizen of India, want to bring in to your kind attention about the problem I faced during the journey from Ranaghat Jn. to Sealdaha by Ranaghat local started 7:35 A.M in the morning on 20.04.2010.I boarded in the train and was managed to get a seat after long searching. All the compartment and almost all the seats are blocked by the daily passenger. They used to book the seats in advance for their friends. Even for the patients,child and for old people the do not share a single seat.This is the normal scenario. Today I have come across a very bad scenario. After some stations two of the daily passenger asked me to leave the seat. I was disagree to do that. They have severly beaten me.They told me even I informed this matter to GRP then dont care of this. After severely beating me they were teling that they would going to throw me out of the train. In this circumstances I would like to draw your kind attention and ask the GRP of Ranaghat station to take some necessary steps so that the people can travel freely and with their own rights to seat.
                        please do the need ful asap.

                          We have taken the ticket (6 Bearth) costing to us Rs. 2222/- from Mumbai to Delhi of 17/04/2010 (Train Time - 09:25 P.M.) Saturday,in Golden Temple in Slipper Class. But it could not be confirrmed. We could not get it cancelled in mumbai . We reached Delhi on 18/04/2010 at 09:00 pm , Sunday. As on sunday reservation can be cancelled only upto 2 pm, so i could not get it cancelled it there. When today morning i.e. 19/04/2010 at 08:00 a.m. when I reached Nizammudian Railways Reservation counter to get it cancelled , then Mr. Manoj Kumar at Counter No 506 has told me to sumbit it at the TI Office. When I reached there at Chief Ticket Inspector, they have refused to cancel the same.

                          I booked Train ticket for Jodhpur for 24th Dec'2008 by train no 2463 in 2 nd AC, which was waitlisted .As the status did not change about 3 days earlier to the date of travel, I booked a E-ticket of Sleeper Class by the same train on the same date.the PNR NO of Waitlisted Ticket is[protected].On the day of travel, I reached Sarai Rohilla Station about 1/2 hour earlier and found, out of 5 passenger, 1 seat was upgraded to RAC and rest were still waitlisted.I decided to travel by Sleeper Class(PNR-[protected]) and requested for cancellation of Waitlisted ticket.The employees of railways ar that station told me that it is a time consuming procedure as computer have shut down and your train may leave so get the cancellation done at Jodhpur.On the way, I asked TT, he should issue a confirmation that we are travelling by Sleeper and not using Waitlisted ticket.He said Jodhpur station will get the chart and you get cancelled there.
                          The train was late and we reached jodhpur at 1.00pm instead of 9.30.the people at Jodhpur were most uncoperative and they said that you have come late so we can not do anything.I lodged a complaint therehaving Sr no-20477 dated 25/12/2008, but have not heard anything so far.
                          After coming back to Delhi, I have filed a refund claim on 30/12/2008 after getting TDR(744416 issued by Northern Railway at New Delhi Station, after lot of hassles, but no refund has come to me so far.

                            Road from Kalva railway station east to Gho-lai nagar( kalva east) is not wakable because it is not proper. there is so many wastage things on the road hence road is not clean also.Even we can not use vehicle also. It is also can not drive.There should be the railway station between kalva & mumbra as so many people located in that area.Please take a necessary action to do the needful.
                            Dear Sir,

                            population is incresing between kalwa-mumbra area. speacially at khargaon area.
                            and Road acesss is not very good, even its no good for walking.
                            there is huge trafic problem and slum area at gholai nagar (kalwa-e) is fully dirty area.
                            so the basic public demand in only Parsik nagar railway station, so please take necessary action.
                            The situation is very bad at Kalwa Station due to a huge crowd of both end i.e. Kalwa West and Kalwa East surrounded around. There is no access to Mumbra Station for the people staying at Kharegaon and Parasik Nagar. Also the crowd of Parsik Nagar don't have easy access to Kalwa railway station dut to improper road. The distance in between Kalwa-Mubra is more than Bhandup-Mulund. If the station between Bhandup-Mulund could be developed then why not in between Kalwa-Mumbra? Why there is difference between both people?

                            Yes, I totally agreed with this. There should be railway station from Kalwa & Mumbra as there is so many people located in that area.

                            Mean time atleast road has to improved i.e from Gholai Nagar( Kalva - East) to Kalva railway station . People can not walk on the road also because so many wastage things beside of the road.

                            Please do the needful as early as possible.
                            Yes i agreed with this issue...so developer belong this area should look into this matter. in the rainy season roads(Kalwa east to gholai nagar) become so horribly.

                            This is a suggestion and not a complaint. Although the subject is slightly different but it relates to Kalwa railway station.

                            Railways have undertaken construction of Foot over Bridge (FOB) at Kalwa Rly Stn (towards Kalyan end of the platform). I would like to suggest that instead of building steps at the bridge there should be a slope for climbing up and down the bridge. The reason being it is more convenient for the old / handicapped / people suffering from joint pains, as they find difficulty in climbing the bridge.

                            If railway authorities feel that the FOB should be used by everyone and the taxpayers money doesn't go waste they should construct the bridge as per the convenience of the users. (The existing FOB on the CST end of the Kalwa Stn platform is hardly used by the people on account of above reasons).

                            I hope that the suggestion will be taken seriously and necessary changes made in the plan as the ground work for the bridge is recently started.

                            Waiting and Hoping for a positive action.

                            Parshik Nagar work of building station needs to be considered urgently ...Road work are pending there are such a bad road conditions on way towards east ..urgent attention is to be taken ...kalwa is not a village that peolpe are facing road, light, water problems so its necessary for the particular authority to look in to the respected area...
                            As now its 21st century peolpe should get the basic amenities ...

                            Yes, it's cent percent true. I have been living in Kalwa for last 8 years and the situation is just worsening. Kalwa has been witnessing exploding growth in population not only in the slums area but also due to Real Estate boom in Parsik Nagar Area. We now have reputed builders like Natu Paranjpe from Private sector and even the current Deputy Mayor of Thane Mr.Lase lives in same area.
                            Despite this there has been hardly any progress on condition of roads and development at Kalwa Station area. Getting on a train during 8-10AM is herculean task and bravery medals should be given to persons who are successful in doing so. People have to travel on Top of the bogeys, in space between 2 bogeys, etc. Jokes apart, the bottomline is that it's hightime we get good roads (especially on East side) and a new Station in Parsik Area. Could someone please upload pictures taken at Kalwa Station on any morning to back our claims?

                            Please kindly look at the issue, Kalwa station to gholai nagar road very bad condition. The govt. must look at the issue as early as possible. As CM said in kalwa Business park will happened, they must commit the year and start the development.
                            The road work is very slow, even you pay taxes you didnt getting any facilities.

                            Please look at the area development, here good opportunities for SRA and builders.
                            I dont know why govt. put this project on hold. Corporates must understand the public demand. The life at gholai nagar its very hectic.

                            The road must be first priority. Just travel/walk once gholai nagar to kalwa station.
                            I have one compliant about work of contractor in kalwa station. Railway administration should see the condition of new bridge which built in kalwa station platform no 01 to 02. all rain water falls on platform so how can people stand on platform for auto rickshaw que.
                            I Came to Kalwa Gholai nagar twelve years back. On that time was accessing kalwa station at early morning and late night to go to office. Now so many rickshaws running between Gholai nagar and kalwa station but road condition is not proper. But renovation of road with proper planning is under construction. Any way late but good improvement.

                            Also population of Kalwa (Khare gaon, parsik nagar, gholai nagar, etc...) since last 10 years are increased more than four to five times because of so many new construction. No frequent road transport available from kalwa to thane. Not possible to catch train from kalwa during 8 AM to 10 AM.

                            Railway should quickly rethink and finalize about constructing parsik railway station as it is very much necessary.
                            As yearly average 20-30 people falling from train between Mumbra and thane. Also as quicker solution railway should start atleast one train in an hour during 8 AM to 10 AM from kalwa to CST.

                            Also another point is FOB at parsik nagar should get constructed quickly because people travel by walk from east to west in this area across railway track. Many time accidents happened as population is more school children, old people travel and path is not in proper condition.
                            It should not be matter of many illegal construction in this area since there are many legal construction are present, many tax payers are also stay who can not effort costly houses in Mumbai so they moved to this area.

                              Dear sir/madam,

                              i am a Recident of Rajgangpur and i am a regular visitor of Rajgangpur Railwaly station as I mostly travel in trains.I live in OCL daily market which is 3-4 km far away from the station.There is no facility available for the passengers .The condition of the railway station is very poor.
                              There is not a single chair in the whole platform no 2&3.Most of the time water is not available in the station for drinking.There is not a single speaker & watch in the whole platform no 2&3.There is not a single dustbin to throw waste and to spit.There is not even a single bathroom for the passengers to fresh up.not a single tea stall is there in the whole station of Rajgangpur .the announcement is so bad and unclear that even person standing in front of the speaker cannot understand what is the announcement done.the enquiery phone doesn't work most of the time and if it works the phone is never picked up.The enquiery office even doesn't give the right information of the trains if we go there.recently the fly over bridge is built joining platform 1&2 which was broke for more than 1 year.There were many strikes after that

                                Sir I had taken Two 2AC Tatkal Ticket on[protected] from Kalyan Jn to Mughal Sarai PNR No [protected] and Mughal Sarai to Guwahati PNR No [protected] on[protected] of Train No 0553. There is only one ticket is confirmed from Mughal Sarai to Guwahati. But the first ticket Kalyan to Mughal Sarai is not confirmed this is known by me when I was in the Train. The TTE force me to take Sleeper Class confirmation at S1-49.But he don't give me any certificate regarding the conversion of 2AC to Sleeper Class. So I dont get the excess amount due to the certificate this is known by me when a TTE of Mughal Sarai inform me. Now how I refund the amount kindly inform me.

                                I have also faced similar issues, when I have not travelled then Indian railways and filed for TDR they told that I have travelled by that train, so that means the TT gave my seat to somebody and took money from him and showed that I have travelled by that train.

                                Now my question is to reduce this type of corruption why cannot Indian railway five this TT with a Ticket checking automatic machine and make if person/people proof system.

                                there is a lot of scope in this area to reduce corruption and increase the income of Railways, as this corrupt money will go to railways.

                                  with due respect it is brought to your kind notice that at Hapur Junction Railway booking clerks are not issuing return tickets from new delhi to hapur only one way tickets are being issued Hapur to Delhi.that caused a difficulty to public to procure the ticket on returning from Delhi to back Hapur on the same day by train and causes the financial loss to the rairway also Kindly look into the matter personally and make necessary arrangement for the return ticket from Delhi at Hapur Railway station

                                    Sub: ‘Senior Citizens’ Card issued by State Govt’ ,.not recognized by the Railways for
                                    ‘AGE’ proof.

                                    I wish to bring your kind notice , an important aspect in Railways that ‘Senior Citizens’ Card issued by State Govt’ ,.is not recognized by the Railways for ‘AGE’ proof.

                                    I am baffled by the ignorance of ‘powers that be, in the Railways. Perhaps they are aware of this but too busy to look in to grievances of senior citizens on this aspect. You are aware (and the State Govt. too is aware) that the ‘ PAN CARD’ and ’PASSPORT’ , in majority cases, forms the base for age and address proof for issuance of ‘Senior Citizen Cards’.

                                    You are aware, that ‘PAN CARD’ AND ‘PASSPORT’ are such important documents that to get duplicate cards, is time consuming and painstaking, especially for senior Citizens. It is therefore not advisable to carry these original documents during travel .Moreover it is inconvenient to carry a load of cards with oneself. Senior Citizen cards come in handy in case of emergencies and accidents. It will be therefore prudent on the part of the Railways to accept these cards for identity (as id card ) as well as age proof.

                                    I request therefore your good selves to move the Hon Railway Minister. Ms Mamata Banerjee (She is sensitive to people’s and senior citizen’s welfare issues)

                                    Indian Citizen — ticket not issued

                                    In BMTC buses it has become regular affair that the conductors do not issue tickets inspite of insisting reason given by the conductor shortdistance bmtc do not issue tickets.It so happen the passenger has to pay hefty fine when checked by the vigilance ote bmtc for the mistake committed by the conductors. This problem exists in banglore for so many decades
                                    Local train route from cstm to panvel. Coach number 2037A. Train timing was on 11th Sept 2018 at 9:09 from panvel. Train compartment fans are not working some fans has been degraded speed is too slow. Request you to kindly check the same.

                                      I was traveling in AC 2 tier of Rajdhani Exp. # 2494 from H. Nizamuddin to Bangalore on 11th Apr 2010, on 12th night we were supplied Chapati/Paratha made of spoiled wheat floor & out dated curd in Dinner. When I have tried to complain to their pantry supervisor, he started asking sorry and was not willing to bring Complaint book saying that it has not been issued to them. When we tried to call Pantry Manager Mr. Sandip, he was reluctant to come and meet us and avoided to meet us. This shows that IRCTC does not have any control on their staff and they have a nexus with the contractors and accept low quality food from contractors. This corruption should be stopped immediately to save the health and hard earned money of passengers. Hope some action will be taken to avoid such incidents.

                                      Yes, I agree that they serve pathetic food in all the trains... and there is no complaint box or register available in the train.. now I highly recommend NOT TO EAT ANY RAIL FOOD DURING JOURNY...AVOID IT AS MUCH POSSIBLE...If you have to take anything for kids or yourself only branded packed stuff is OK like chips, cold drinks, biscuits, but before buying it please check the expiry also. I don't know who is getting benefit out of this withered food servicing.. It is an issue of serious concern otherwise some day we will come to know that hundreds will be hospitalized and surviving for life due to this kind of food.. there must be a strict action and inquiry of this..
