I was travelling from Dadar ( mumbai ) to Pune, and got ticket for 2nd Class.
However train scheduled was Pragati Express. So before entering into train I asked on of the officer from Railway dept only if this ticket is valid to travel for Pragati Express. He said yes, only travel in General bogie.

But when TC caught me and 3 more boys for the reason, this ticket is invalid and you need to have one more ticket for express.

I was ready to pay fine but I wanted to know the rule where it is mentioned that ticket is invalid. TC refused to show it to me.
I was charged for Rs. 259 which is more than 5 times of actual ticket cost.

More over TC was with one guy who was holding me and treating like he is Police officer and Im his prisoner. More like local gunda's hired. He didnt have any Identity railway service nor he was in any uniform. He was consistently pulling me and asking to pay fine. He was also ready to settle with me for less money but I refused.

Then I was put into a room for 30 mins like it is jail for me. I paid the fine coz I had no option left.
But still some questions are unanswered.
1. Why such big fine in spite of having ticket ?
2. Where I can find the correct rule for fine for traveling from express with normal ticket ?
3. Why Officer at Dadar station is not aware of this rule ?
4. Who was that guy with TC and how does is have authority to misbehave with passengers ?

I am agree with some of the complains made. ac operator, TT / Tc is behaving very badly with the passengers even with the passengers having confirm tickets.They never give money reciet to the passenger for the extra amount paid for the ticket. It goes to their pocket. from the ticket counter they issue normal ticket for the AC chair car and suggest the passengers to give the remainig amount to the TT. But TT do not give money reciet for that extra money. they collect the extra money and put it in their pocket. This way Railway department is loosing crores of money everyday.TRhis Rly. employees should be punished immediately.Also see the TELEGRAPH paper Dt 21 april, 2011.Railway staff pushes out a passenger from a running train.every incidents are rising in Lumding - Agartala express train, Dharmanagar - agartala train. We have full faith on our Hon"ble Railway Minister Mamta ji. Only such honest dynamic leader can stop the corruptions in railway. we love her.We indians are proud to get such a honest minister in our country.
Jasidih magistrate TCs are misbehaving with passengers and also using abusive slangs words in name of magistrate checking at Jasidih( Deoghar) railway station. Everyday they are harassing many students already having tickets and many people's by not telling them the actual rule of tickets. Everyday I can see they are misusing there powers. Plz atleast they some relief must be Provided to passenger with less amount fine and also they sud be warned by rail for not abusing any passenger.

    MY wife was comming fron howrah to delhi byduranta exp on dated 21.05.2010.( Tania Maity (Paul) , PNR no-[protected]). This tickit was booked on[protected]. But at last time when chart was prepared , its statas is RB4 15). how can she came from howrah to delhi 24 hours (1600 km) on setting position.
    i booked tickit 1 month later from the jurny date, however this tickit was not conformed. why extra cotch was not attached due to lots of RAC kota,s & waiting list kota. if passenger paid full payment why they are not facilited toatly.
    if this problems are not solved & passenger are harrasment due to proper seat allotment system, late running, late arrivile, late departure, fooding systen then its result are reflect next election.

    Dear sir
    With ref to my PNR [protected] we are travaled from SAVDA (SAV) To KALYAN on 14th Feb.2011. train no11058 ASR/DDR express
    Surprised to see that the 2-3 ladies are just entering the reserved bogies with there number of KADUNEEM LEAVES bundle of more than 20 kgs weight each. just dumping in the reservation boggies, resulting that passenger could not enter the train, due to shorter time of halt, train start.Our bogies are full of that KADUNEEM LEAVES bundle, Toilets of Boggie no 3-4-5 are full with kaduneem leaves bundle.public could not enter the toilets.
    At IGATPURI station Lady police are cheking the compartement, I complaint that lady police, she just ignore me, after one police officer also cheking the compartment, myself complent him also, he told the lady police about my complent but she ignore him, Carrier lady of the kaduneem leaves, is explening that they paying the hapta .Passenger public are not able to talk to carrier ladies/gents.
    TTE and SPL cheking TTE are just keep mum, but not furgot to chagerd the without tkt.traveler avoiding this kaduneem leaves carrier, and train condactor not fergot to allot the seat no 69 to passenger with extra cost before it vacant, aloty passagar is just quarling for acupation saying that this seat is allot me.
    Sir my request you to control on this type of carrier, to facialiate to your valuable passengar, are booking there tkts in advanced.

      i am writing this compalaint with a very disheartened heart on the poor functioning of one of the worlds longest railway network.....
      alloting waiting list over the tatkal tickets is such an act of the railway to loot the people at any cost and make their profits to a higher level....
      railway is forgetting that they are a public transport service and are behaving worser than a private airline company which even tries to serve the public with the lowest rates for the tickets..............

      I do agree with you, some times if your tatkal wait list No 5 or 6 there are chances of getting the seat but due to railway Tatkal Rules your ticket will be cancelled automatically and you will be consider as without ticket and the empty seat is bonus to TC. even though you have emergency, you can not travel even after paying Huge Tatkal charges. There is not enough time to by another ticket at last moment, I strongly appeal to railway Ministry to look after this Rules or Do not issue Wait list Ticket on Tatkal Quota, so that person can make some other arrangement for Travel

        IT IS A SHAME THAT WE LET LALU PRASAD DOWN FROM THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS.

        IN THE RULE OF MAMTA BANERJEE THERE ARE LOT OF LOOPHOLES COMING OUT AND STAFF INVOLVED IN RAILWAYS ARE NOT PAYING THEIR DUTIES OFF

        - TICKETING SYSTEM- The ticketing system of indian railways is so pathetic and corrupted that every1 knows, but no 1 cums out wid a big appeal to fight against it

        My true story-
        I made rajdhani ticket from mangalore to delhi , I got Waiting List-14, and my fren made the same ticket after two days he got Waiting List- 26, I asked him how about the confirmation of our tickets, should v b able to go our home, " You know what he said- My father know some persons in railway he will confirm my ticket""
        I was shocked and argued against him that the ticket confirms in a order, and at last he tells me see what happens"

        and at the time of chart preparation " my ticket got stuck at W/L 4 but he got his ticket confirmed, no.

        i cried that day 'coz i ws nt able to attend my brothers marriage " and dis guys went happily,
        people rise and put dis matter against d authorities at any possible place in any way and manner'

          It is the matter of shame for Indian Railways that one of our luxurious train doesn't even have some necessary things like Oxygen cylinder. I was travelling on Swarn Shatabdi(train no 2003) on sunday i.e. 11th may 2010 from Kanpur to New Delhi a guy died in the train just because of poor facility and slow response of the train staff. A guy travelling in seat number 35 of coach C-7 died as he had a heart stroke and there was nothing which the train staff did to save him. Doctors travelling in the train tried to save him but due to insufficient resources they were not able to just because the train staff took so long time to react. He could have been saved if there would have been atleast an oxygen cylinder. Moreover, when complained regarding the issue to TTE he refused to give the complaint book. It was a shamefull moment for all of poeple travelling in train as we couldn't do anything. The poeple who fight for us and our country get such a treatment, the name of the person died was T. V. Gopakumar and he was a flight leuitinent in Indian Air Force. My only concern is that there should be suffucient resources in trains in this kind of emergencies. I would request Indian Railways to take some strict actions against the train staff available in that train and provide trains with such necessary first aid things like oxygen cylinder.

            Dear Sir,
            I bring to your notice that the train reservation charts which are supposed to be prepared 4 hous in advance of the train departures are now being released some 15-20 mins before the departure.
            I had been travelling from last 15 days to various locations and I have noticed that the delay in release of reservation charts may be due to the reason that the railway authourities are selling the confirmation of waitlisted tickets with the assistance of touts by adjusting the PNR nos and hence not following the SOP.
            *If that wont be the case how come people with higher waitlisted nos get a confirmation and rest suffer?
            * If that was not true what would be the reason for preparing the charts before 15-20 of departure of the trains?
            * How could people who enquire about the waitlisted tickets on phone rach over station with in 15-20 mins in city like mumbai?
            Kindly tell me how to escalate the complaint further if you find yoursel[censored]ncapable of doing something in this matter.

              Respected Sir,

              As per the below information - I booked aTicket of 2S from NDLS to Ludhiana on 17th May 2010 in 2459 ND - ASR Express but :-

              1. The 2S seating had been changed to 2nd Class GENERAL COACH in the Train
              2. No Chart of the Reserved passengers was pasted outside the Coach.
              3. The 2nd Class General Coach had no Seat numbers printed.
              4. This Created a lot of mess within the coach D8.
              5. A lot of Passengers without Ticket started coming in from Sonipat & Panipat.
              6. No Ticket Checker ( TT ) came into to check the tickets.

              Overall this whole created a lot of distress & pain to me who had specially booked ticket & spent in extra money to get a seat in 2nd Seating Coach but finally ended up in General 2nd class passenger coach.
              Is this Indian Railways for public.

              I would like to get my amount refunded ( Rs. 120/- ) along with the compensation of Rs 1000/-

                Sir, my motor bike booked vide receipt no P U 707729 on 13 May 10 and loaded in train no 2978 (JP-ERS) from Jaipur railway station to Madgaon railway station. i approach to parcel office MAO on 16 May 10 on telepnone and personnely on 17 May 10 they inform that my bike was not unloaded at Madgaon railway station. I make a complaint at Parcel Office mad vide 111 dt 17 May 10. i am a defence person and need my bike very urgently. Please help me.

                  I am a software professional workin in a reputed company.. Me and my girl friend were waitin for the mangalore train in the night.. Actually we came from ooty and waited for 3 o clock train.. And we came to podanur station at 9 pm because we dont have bus from gandhipuram and we waited there untill 3am.. And even though my wife had a reservation and i had a plat form ticket and i haven noticed that the plat form ticket is expired.. Thats my fault.. I apologised for that and paid the penalty of 290 rs in cash immediately.. But before that the rpf in station an old head constable verified and caught me.. I appreciate that that for his alertness.. But that fellow started abusing me in all the bad words in tamil.. And being a malyali he hates tamilians and started abusing me wit words like.. N hole.. But the actual hole is him.. Behaved lik a silly local jack .. Being a police man dont know how to behave.. And abused me even after paying the penalty.. And the podanur railway station is being ruled by the mallu.. And please take necessary action towards that old head constable.. And the clerical staff or the announcer in the clock room didnt gave me `the proper information about the train.. And was sllepin in his duty hours.. And blabbering some thing in instead of the train announcement.. Bull and from that iam not using indian railways.. And ill tell all my friends and relatives too to not use it.. Southern railway and the railway police... And most of the senior police men in the podanur railway station were drunk during their duty hours in the night.. Pls take an action regarding this...

                  Indian Railways — fined due to fault of railways

                  sir,
                  i filled and submitted my reservation form on 18th june 2008 for 2
                  kapil babbar male 18 yrs
                  yash babbar female 17 years
                  from bareilly to gaziabad for train no. 2003A dtd. 21-06-08 lucknow -new delhi special shatabdi express cc (pnr no.[protected] tkt no. 25375793,
                  but i forgot to check those details while recvg my ticket...
                  while in train i found that in place of
                  yash babbar female 17 years
                  it was printed as
                  yash babbar male 17 years

                  so t.t.e charged me rs. 1170/- (rs. 585 fare from lko to ndls + rs.585 excess fare as fine)
                  i agreed to give fine to him on terms as he told me that you can reclaim your fine as it is a railways fault...
                  but when i appraoached to station master today..he denied me of refunding my money..
                  so please help me out

                  Plat form ticket — NOT AVAILABLE OF PLATFORM TICKET

                  ON 17TH OF OCT 2008, IWENT TO NEWDELHI RAILWAY STATION TO CIEW UP MY BROTHER WHO WAS ON THE WAY TO BHUBANESWAR.PLATFORM TICKET WAS NOT AVAILABLE.I DONT HAD ANY IDEA .WHEN I WAS RETURNIGN WITH ONE MORE MY FRIEND MR GIAN CHAND AND MR RAMANAND BISWAS STOPPED US OUT OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND ASKED US FOR PLATFORM TICKET AS THEY KNOW THE STATUS OF AVAILABILITY.BOTH OF THEM ASK FOR RS 506/- BUT THAT MUCH I HAD NOT WITH ME SO THEY CHECKED MY PERSE AND TOOK ALL MY MONEY OF RS 453/- AND GIVE US A RECEIPT OF 253/-.WHEN I ASKED FOR REST FR 200/-THEY TOLD IT IS OFFICE EXPENSES AND GO OUT OF THE PLAT FORM OTHERWISE ONE OF YOU WOULD BE SENT TO JAIL.

                  I HAVE WRITTEN THE SAME TO MINISTY OF RAILWAY AND A LETTER TO EX RAILWAY MINISTER.

                  Indian Railway — Drags

                  With due to state that I want to tell you a complain regarding drags. Some person takes drags in the Meerut Shattle from Meerut to Delhi at Morning. The place for taking drags is second compartment (DEBA) after the Ladies Compartment (DEBA).

                  Indian Rail — Ticket

                  I have purchased a Ticket (PNR No.[protected] dated 1.03.09) at Habibganj Ticket Counter Bhopal M.P. for journey for two people (My Father and Sister) from Itarsi to Varanasi in Tatkal quota.For which I paid full fare from
                  Mumbai CST to Varanasi. In my request form i have mentioned boarding at Itarsi. But today when my father went for boarding at train it was told by passenger on his birth that this birth is alloted to him by TC.Kindly Look into matter and take n.a..I hope strong measure shall be taken and acknowledge to me also.
                  how can these things avoided

                  Indian Railways — technical faults

                  date 3.11.09 train no. 2402 magadh express. new delhi started announcing that the train has technical faults and would be late by 20 minutes. train started moore than one hour late. if train had faults some other train could be arranged. well from gaziabad it started at 22:40 i.e. more than 2 hours late. it was again and again getting stopped but nobody was taking care of it.
                  Indian Railway is a worst function of indian government, instead of helping peoples every employee try to exploit. The way they talk and behave is pathetic, how the passed the selection process is always a mystery for me.
                  They are all kings in there area and and on every Republic day we claim that we are living in democratic country. Ignorance of law is not an excuse but laws are formed to protect and manage the civilization.
                  Why no one in power is looking upon this problem i don't understand.

                  Indian Railway, New Delhi — extra Ticket

                  Last week when i want to go to Aligarh by Neelanchal express,general ticket vending person refused to give me the ticket to Aligarh and told me there is no train to Aligarh. Again i had to stand in the que for customer care and he asked me to take ticket upto Kanpur when the train stops at Aligarh. I had to pay almost double of the actual ticket fare.

                  Railways — Platform Ticket

                  आदरणीय साहब,
                  जबलपुर के प्लेटफॉर्म नंबर 4 पर सभी टिकिट विंडो से कल 15/5/2011 दोपहर 15:30 बजे किसी भी खिड़की से प्लेटफॉर्म टिकिट नहीं दिया गया और कर्मचारी द्वारा "दूसरी खिड़की से प्लेटफॉर्म टिकिट मिलेगा " कह कर टालते गए और किसी भी खिड़की से टिकिट नहीं दिया गया और बतमीजीपूर्वक व्यवहार किया गया । रेल्वे द्वारा कहा जाता है की प्लेटफॉर्म टिकिट ले कर जाया जाय लेकिन रेल्वेकर्मचारी द्वारा ही टिकिट नहीं दिया जाता है । ऐसी स्थिति में बिना टिकिट लिए व्यक्ति प्लेटफॉर्म पर जाता है तो उसका कोई दोष नहीं है और टीसी द्वारा गेट पर परेशान नही किया जाना चाहिये। और व्यक्ति की समस्या को सुनना भी चाहिये। प्लेटफॉर्म टिकिट नहीं देने की बात दो बार हो चुकी है इस कारण अब मुझे अब शिकायत करनी पड़ रही है। आशा करते हैं की इस पर आप गंभीरता पूर्वक शीघ्र समस्या का हल करेंगे।

                  my name is madhu. i too had a very bad experience at coimbatore junction. i asked for two platform tickets, for me and my son and gave Rs 10. that lady in the counter said that she didnt have change and returned my money with out issuing ticket.by then the train arrived in which my mother was coming. so i decided to buy the ticket once i came down. after picking up my mom, went to a magazine shop, bought a book just for the change. coming down, one lady padhmavathi called me and asked for the ticket and i told her what had happened and my GOD she behaved like an un educated and just raised her voice and spoke as if i was telling a lie. what is the need for me to lie? i took her to the ticket counter and even after verifying the truth, she wouldnt let me go and charged me fine of Rs 640 and issued a reciept which says that Rs 140 excess fare and Rs 500 for luggage. where is Rs 6 and 640. atrocious. arrogant lady was disgusting . i dont think that money must have gone to the railways. as said above employees try to exploit. if railways cant give a change of Rs 4, then what can we do?

                  On 31.01.2012 at Dadar Station, i was already taken plat form and unknowingly my brother also bought a plat form ticket for me when i return back from see off one of a tc caught one lady without ticket, she not having a fenalty to pay i spotted there request tc to i have extra Plat Form ticket told him that leave her, he abused me then took me to his office with that lady. i said him that i have proper ticket why are you abusing me and asking for fenalty then he said i will do any thing about this matter send you to jail otherwise you have to pay rs. 10, 000 for helping to ticket less lady.

                  i told him that why should i pay if have proper plat form ticke with extra one. as a humen being i wants to help her that's all.

                  My Wife’s bus was cancelled today from Sarai Kale Khan so I book a railway ticket for my wife from the reservation counter at Nizamuddin but forgot to take a platform ticket for my self.
                  The ticket checker asked for the ticket so I dint have one he said I have to pay the fair from New Delhi to Nizamuddin which was Rs255 which is not right as I only dint have a platform ticket. No platform ticket does not mean I have traveled by train without a ticket. The fine slip should not contain details for travel fine should be for no platform ticket bought. As I had proof of parking slip for my car and time on it, which clearly states that I only dint have a platform ticket. The fine slip contains that I have traveled from New Delhi to Nizammudin without a ticket which is wrong receipt and wrong accusation.

                  Myself and my friend went to howrah station to do reservaton after charting done to board a train at 8:05 am.We were going to tht counter when the tt asked us for platform ticket.I told her that we are about to do reservation just now.also asked her that w have only stepped in the station to buy tckt and hav.ent entered platform.There was an argument as she was nt reluctant to hear and fined us 260 rs each.As we dint had time and had to catch train we paid her.But I want to know how it is justified as we had just entered d station and nt platform.but we were fined.Need a jjustification as this situation is not defined in the rules for penalty

                  I'm S.Ambikeswaran Vishwakarma today, suddenly...my wife needed to travel to Trichy in emergency through Pallavan Express...and morning I got the tickets reserved(Second Class). Then i checked my PNR status time to time.Finally She got the confirmation.As it was so urgent, I sent off her and returned.On the way of return at 3.50 P.M, 3 Women and one Gent Squad, blocked me and investigated on the Platform Ticket.I explained him by saying that..its time for the train to leave the station, I am forced to drop her without taking the Platform Ticket.But they were so rude to me and they imposed fine over me.I asked for many excuses, but they didn't mind.He started to talk roughly and pressurized me to pay the fine by saying that If I didn't pay the fine now...I need to go to the court to pay Rs.1800 for a single..Platform Fare of Rs.5/-. Then I paid Rs.255 (platform Fare-5 + Excess Fare- 250).But in the receipt they have issued that the fine is due to the non-payment of the journey Ticket from MSB to MS .Then I returned home and googled it then i found out that MSB meaning Madras Station Beach and MS meaning Madras Station ( Egmore ). Then I came to know that they have issued the fine because I didnt pay the journey fare in the Local Electric Train.I seriously got embarrassed as why not a single higher official didn't take an action over these kinds of problems.

                  I agree to this fine if I didn't take the journey Ticket to move on to any other place.But its so mean to pay such a large amount for a platform Fare.Hence sufficient actions must be taken over by the Railway Department for imposing such a pay over the citizens .

                  today we went to the platform without a platform ticket, we actually dint know..as there was no counter, the lady there charged rs.640., for two o[censored]s..this is two much, for a public, , if they charge fine, at this rate, india will end up nowhere, not neccessary, to take..five yr plans to improve india, atleast resonable rate..will do.not two much, what will poor people do, this happened in coimbatore railway junction..where two lady's charged us..and the other person, with me, said the man in the office, ' where will i tell this..charging of high amt..'.. the man said with full gutts..'dont say anywhere'...is this the way to talk to the public...plz take neccessary steps on this...as i know something on this...as i am a commerce, and a economics student...
                  Hi sir / madam I am an employee, my office is near to the barathnagar railway station. Daily I will come in the same route where I have to cross the station but today a TC stopped me and asked me about train ticket but am not step down from the train then she asked me about flatform ticket but I don't have and I don't know to buy because daily am coming in the same route and never she asked me.And she told me to pay 500 rs for without flat form ticket and 260 rs for travelling without ticket . Am not agree for that and I asked for the rules and I told i have no money. Then she checked my bag and took 260rs for fine and she wrote on the challan as TWT then I have asked why you are writing on the challan as TWT then she answered for flat form without ticket 500rs if you want to pay then you can . I agree I don't have flat form tkt but I have to know what is the actual fine for without flat form tkt and even I asked about the rules. Please let me know what is the charge...

                    I am irctc member (nrao1956). I tried to book e-ticket for Hyderabad to Daund by Train No.7032 for three members on 9th October and 10th October 2010 and tried to pay through my debit card of canara bank savings bank account. The sign 'processing, please wait' appeared for long time both the times and finally the transaction was 'timed out' both the times, however my savings bank account was debited twice for Rs.468/- each. I request the authorities to kindly look into and rectify the same and refund the amount to my canara bank savings bank account.

                      On 12.04.2010, I had to board Vikramshila Express from New Delhi to Bhagalpur. I along with my family were having three AC1st Ticket. The train timing was 1440. Till the pacement of train neither there was any anoucement nor any body was aware about the train on which plateform they will place. At last the train was placed on plateform a platform I think it was 11 or 12. On other side of the platform there was another Bihar bound train which had to also leave at 1445. Since both the train was placed at same plateform at same time there was stamped like situation due to overcrowding. The railway Policemen were engaged in lathicharging without knowing the class of passenger. Please my request is to
                      1. Don't place two Bihar bound train at same plateform which have to leave at only five minutes interval.
                      2. Anouncement should be done about the platform noon which the train is to be placed.

                        I have sent a parcel weighing 65 kgs from surat to nagpur by Porbandar-Howrah exp 2905 on 5/5/2010. It was supposed to receive by 6/5/2010 at nagpur railway station. But it wasn't. Due to irresposibility of operating staff, the parcel has been carried over to howrah by the same train. When I inquired, no one is having any information about the parcel and still I didn't received my parcel. Today is 15/5/2010, and I want my parcel back.It was containing some important study books and other study material.

                          I am serving in ARMY & I booked motor cycle & box in JAMMU TAWI Railway stn. the clerk on that day(20/08/09) demanded me for one botale of Rum & Rs100/-. otherwise he may delay the booking. My problem is my wife pregnent & I cant let her alone.
                          And at night the porter demand me one botle of rum & Rs 50/-. I oppose to do so then he said wait & see. I hard that if wont fulfill thier demand they will damage my things.
                          Is it correct sir other wise my belongingis will not come in time. And I cant wait for so longe becouse my leave is only for 10 days and I will be in villa-ege for 06 days.
                          I requesting u sir pls take a action on this.
                          I know bribing is an ofence but Iam helpless, as you know we dont have mutch time to compaint some one ther. So Iam complainting here thank you sir

                            We had e-ticket from Delhi to Jodhpur Dt. 13.05.2010 in Malani Express. The Ticket Checker demanded for an photo id proof of 10 year old child. We had shown him the Photo id proof of the Father of the so child but the TC instead of corporating with us misbehaved and made his e-ticket as travelling without ticket and issued a new ticket with penalty.
                            We need a refund of the so ticket made.

                              Sir,

                              This is to bring to your notice that the food served in 2703/2704 Falaknuma Express from SC-HWH-SC is completely Veg. There is no option for N-Veg food and furthermore the food quality is worst ever than it was 3 years back. Once I asked one of IRCTC Boy and to my surprise what he told is as follows:-
                              "Sir, the owner of this catering is a Vegan so still he is here no N-Veg is to be supplied".
                              Its a punishment for guys like us to just survive on this veg food and with only egg available (which better to be avoided). The quality of chappati that is served is soo hard that one would break his.her teeth.

                              Similar is the coach maintenance as we find cockroaches and rats running everywhere. Many of a time I have written in their feedback form but nothing seems to happen. This is not only in 3 Tier, but also in AC II Tier. Its a menance.

                              This train is one of the best train like us guys travelling from SC-HWH and back.

                              It would be very good if these things are looked into which will no doubt make the train to the best likings of its passengers.

                              Indian Railways — quality of food

                              Dear Sir,

                              I travelled with my two children on Rajdhani (2429) on 14 Dec 09 from secundarabad to H nizamudin.


                              The quality of food served was bad. The paneer served with the dinner was sour. The snacks etc were of poor quality.

                              pls do something to improve the same for the benefit of the fare paying passengers.

                                    I want to complain regarding EXISTING SIDE MIDDLE BERTH in RNC GARIB RATH 2877/2878 which is still existing in the trains ,i booked ticket for 7th May 2010 but i got side middle berth G2/ 0014/SM.
                                    and this is not the first time, on 1st May from New Delhi to Ranchi we got side middle.

                                    The side middle berth is very uncomrtable for all the passengers of side lower/upper/middle .
                                    There fore it was our request to please take this issue seriously and remove the side middle berth for the
                                    comfort of the passengers.
                                    Also Supreme court has passed an order to remove all the side middle berth from the trains and i feel there is nothing above the law.

My son has purchased one more general ticket from Bharthana to Kurukchetra bearing number AB 82146317 dt 07.05.10 as he has to meet to his friend. One TTE sqaud boarded from Panipat and checked the coach and son has shown his general class ticket where as we all three were seated in S-3 coach. TTE squad accompanied with two ladies and one sardar ji cut bred and one Mr Naresh all in normal dress as no one can recognize as TTE. I have shown my reserved ticket but in vain TTE squad has started quarreling with us and not ready to listen any pleas they told how you have entered in sleeper coach you pay Rs 200.00 as bribe to me or pay penalty Rs 300.00 for the general tickets. My family become so afraid and agree to pay penalty. TTE squad had given me ticket bearing No 659258 for Rs. 300/- please advice if my son has purchased another general ticket even after a valid and confirmed sleeper class ticket TTE has charged correctly or not if so how we can get my refund and where we have to complaint.

                                        This is to bring to your notice the turning of blind eyes by Indian railways that cause inconvenience to the passengers and compromising their safety.I was travelling back to Mumbai from Bangalore on 5 may by udayan express, every two minutes beggars were entering the compartment (Sleeper category) and harassaing the passengers for money. Vendors screaming their wares out and short distance travellers without reservation demanding for seats leading to scuffles and fights.There was a gold chain snatching in (S-7) . Of course the thief escaped inspite of the presence of RPF in the compartment. Nothing has changed much since the first time that I travelled by the same train in the year 1998, everything remained the same including theft on the train.The passengers deserve better than what is being offered.Will the rail authorities wake up and take necessary actions to put a stop to the harassment that the passengers have to undergo?
