It's very regret to inform you but railway own employees is ruined the Indian Railway. They all are full coroupt just because of some money. They are doing frauding on reservation counter and they have misbehaving with the customer's. Today, i met with an incident on Hathidah Junction on 24.10.2009 @ 8:15 Am. When i asked him to book the ticket on tatkal AC chair car in Janshatabdi express, he replied there is no Tatkal Quta in AC chair car and he black marketed the seat. He was on duty w/o dress and w/o badges and he is entertaining some of the customer's from back side also. When i asked for this he replied you can book your ticket with your internet. And throw the form. It's very ridicoulous and can not be acceptable at any instance. If you can take action against him to clean the system and to reduce the fraudness in Indian Railway.

We have to stop somwhere.

    I traveled from New Delhi to Bangalore on 9th Oct 2009, by Karnataka express, in 2nd AC coach. The condition of 2nd AC coach was pathetic. There was not a single charging point in full coach (in coach A1), if passenger needs to recharge his electric item he/she needs to go in other coach, also reading lamps were not working on many berths, bedding was teared & it was not clean a bit. This was my very very bad experience with 2nd AC coach. Railway is charging too much for AC coaches and not providing satisfactory facilities. This should not be acceptable & railways should provide proper facilities.

    2ac charges are too much but to pay backdey offer bad and pathetic services

      I would like to comlaint against Indian Railway, Due to delay (Dalay (More then three hrs)
      in declaration by Rail after the 5min of right time arrival at TIRCHCHIRAPALI (TPJ). details are below.

      Train Details
      Name: POTHIGAI EXP/2662, PNR No.-[protected], DATE OF JOURNEY-24 OCT 2009
      From TIRCHCHIRAPALI (TPJ) To CHENNAI (MS), Departure time : 1.05
      IT DELAY, SAME CAN BE VERIFY FROM RAIL DEPARTMENT

      I was having one FLIGHT RESERVATION with INDIAN AIRLINES - IC 945, DETAILS ARE BELOW
      PNR-1A-ZLXLTV, FLIGHT No. IC-945, DEPARTURE TIME AT CHENNAI 8.45 AT OCT 24, 2009.

      Problem: After knowing the train is delay by more then 3hrs, i tried to cancel the air ticket and i lost whole fee as cancelation with 24hrs of flight.
      The arrival time of train was 6.14 am...


      Kindly have look into the problem and ask for Indian railway for compensation for whole day and loss amount due missing / cancelation of flight (Rs. 2187.00)

        Reference to the subject above I would like to intimate you that I am a pensioner, retired employee of Indian Railway. I am a resident of A-8/488, Kalyani, Nadia, W.B.-741235, having my Pension account at your IGC Kalyani branch,(Branch Code:6701 ,A/C No.[protected]).

        Sir, as per latest Press release of central GOVT. as well as Indian railway, all the pensioners are getting their balance 60% of arrear against last Pay-Commission recommendations. I have checked up with several pensioners here at Kalyani, who are retired-railway employees, regarding this matter (Payment of balance60% of arrear) & their replies were positive. But till date the same has not been credited to my account except my regular pension.I have contacted at your Office at CPPC ,SBI Vivekananda Rd.branch in Kolkata on 7th of this month(07/10/2009) & was informed that the same would be debited to my aforesaid A/c within 10 days, but till date it is not regularized.
        Sir, I am a patient of two sever cerebral stroke & could not move properly due to my illness. But considering the above consequence, I would prefer to bring my case to your good Offices & requesting you to look in to this matter. I am waiting for your kind consideration so that I can get my eligible demand at the earliest.

        Indian Railways — getting the balance amount refund

        Dear Sir,

        This is to inform that self had booked a ticket for 5 persons online on 14.02.2011 vide PNR No - [protected]. The journey date was 08.05.2011 from H Nizamuddin to Panvel.

        The ticket was partially confirmed i.e. 1 person was confirmed and the balance 4 was wait listed. Consequently no one travelled and on advise of the TTE I filed TDR (TDR Ref No - ekt[protected]) on the same date - 08.05.2011.

        Since I am not very comfortable with online procedures. I had filed the TDR for only the confirmed passenger expecting that the wait list tickets would automatically get cancelled and the amount will be refunded as is the case in normal circumstances.

        The refund which I gaot after 3 months is a paltry Rs 762/- when actually it shoud have been the the ticket cost i.e Rs 7625/-.

        Kindly advise me as to how to proceed for getting the balance amout refund.

          TEA IN RAILWAYS — PREPARATION OF TEA IN RAILWAYS

          The method of preparation of Tea in Railways is breathtaking. and totally unhygenic. I wonder how the Consumer Forum have gone unseen. The Tea prepared in Konkan railway is made out of Toiler water. The Tea is prepared with a normal rod heater inserting the Steel (Possibly rusted) into the Tea can and heating it. This is horriblw in the interest of the Indian people.

            Dear Sir,

            I am doing this complaint again and again, but I am not getting any response from western railway or any other authority. Is their point in making online complaint ? If you are not replying the customer complaint then kindly close the web site. Please close the web site.

            Commuters coming from Vasai block the train compartment gate and does not allowing bhayander people to get inside the train. When the train started we observe that there is huge space inside the compartment. We can see from wrong/ opposite side gate, it’s totally empty, few people easily get inside from that side.

            Why western railway is not taking any strict action against these commuters travelling with groups. I would request that western railway police force should be available on platform and take strict action against these peoples. I would suggest that western railway should not display the time of the trains, just only indicate the final designation and fast/slow etc.
            One more suggestion is that Vasai to Andheri II class monthly pass cost Rs. 125. And Bhayander to Goregaon II monthly pass is also Rs. 125. I observed pass issuing staff authorities refuse to give such details, because of laziness or huge queue for taking tickets. Western railway should display such information on the board or on website or give ticket/ pass full distance coverage for the given amount.

            In short, I would like to say that everyone should do their duty. Railway police should do their job rather than sitting ideal in the office or on the platform. Higher Authorities should manage their sub-ordinates work properly and escalates people complaints like this.

            Today I meet RPF office in the bhayander office to lodge a complaint for this, as per their reply complaint would be lodge in vasai railway police station only for the Miraroad to Vasai area. Tell me who had time to go vasai rly police station office a lodge a complaint for this.

            Railway policemen — Bandra Railway policemen are not doing their duty

            Hi All,

            This is not new to everyone who passing from Brandra to CST from HARBOUR LINE.. There are lot of Chain and Mobile Snatcher are watching behind the lamppost..This is again security matter for passenger's
            but our efficient railway policemen will never listen to matter..I don't know why? RUMOR SAY'S THAT THEY ALSO GOT SOME SHARES FROM THEM.. Already we have lot of daily problem's with other
            PLEASE look up into this matter i don't know Wat will goes wrong some day to anyone o[censored]s.

            Western Railway — Footbridge in Bandra Station

            This is to bring to your notice that the staircase on platform 3-4 leading to Footbridge in Bandra station gets extremenly crowded during peak hours in the event of trains arriving simultaneously on both these platforms or even otherwise.It takes around 10 minutes to get on the footbridge after alighting from the train.
            It also causes a lot of discomfort with people pushing you from all sides. There is so much of crowd that it might even lead to a stampede someday. It is a nightmare for people working in Bandra East as this is the only bridge that connects to the Skywalk.

            Would request you to kindly look into this matter

            My suggestion regardig stopage of 2961 and 2962 Avantika Exp in Vapi.

            There is no train which is connect indore to Vapi directly.Vapi is big industrial city and also daman and silvasa near from vapi.

            There are no of passengers are staying in daman, silvassa, vapi who go to indore. These three are industrial cities. Request you to stop above mentioned train at vapi station. Right now we are facing so many problems. First we have to go Valsad by bus or train then only possible to catch the train. Please look into the matter.

            On 08/11/09, I travelled from Mumbai central to Indore by 3rd a/c coach no.B-2 vide berth No.40 and I am sorry to report that on and from 11.00pm the a/c compartment converted into ordinary sleeper one as coach attendant put the a/c off and slept at his place as a result my reservation by a/c coach remained unmeaning full and in other words I may say it is a kind of cheating with passenger. Complaint book must be with a/c coach available with attendant so that he may not play such type of mischief. Please note that I am a sr citizen.

            Please refer to my complaint dated 10th instant about putting of A/c in 3rd A/c Compartment No.B-3 Aantika Express {2961} from Mumbai to Indore and note that still I have not heard into the matter. At least inform how much time it will take to acknowlege the receipt of complaint.

            I daily travelled from Borivali to Churchgate. . Always trains are dirty so much dust on rack & even in all comportment.We feel to take broom & clean the comportment. New trains are in hight from the platform for getting in & out is very diffcult. So kindly keepthe train clean . Please increase hight of platform all over.
            the complain is that on the ways of coming from borivali to virar station From 06:30p. m. 09:45 p. m. except special train going from Borivali to virar ...rest of trains crossing from borivali station... all the 1st class compatment all full as like it is 2nd class only...what we have to do for catching 1st class coach by pessanges...

            western railway bridge — FOOTBRIDGE

            FOOTBRIDGE ON ANDHERI PLATFORM NO 6 TO PLATFORM NO 7 TO BE BUILT BECAUSE IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR THE PASSENGERS TO GO FROM ONE PLATFORM TO OTHER AND EVERYDAY EVENING THEIR IS A STAMPEDE ON PLATFORM NO 7 AT 6.15P.M.

            Western Railway — Late Local Trains

            From last 2-3 months, western railway local trains are running late by 10 to 30 minutes daily. The reason behind is unknown. For train leaving borivali station requires 15 minutes to reach kandivali station. The trains also halt or runs very slow in between stations. From Borivali to Andheri, earlier it took hardly 20 minutes, but now it takes 30 minutes.

            Western Railway — Incorrect Behaviour

            On 17th June I Left the office late and while on Train I Slept and got down at Virar instead of Vasai.I left my bag inside the train and the train went away.I Went to TC named B P Singh(Virar). He was so rude and I told him that can he tell me where the train goes because there were many important document in my bag and he just was giving me one answer that it is not his fault that I left my bag. I was so frustrated then I went to the police station and gave them my phone no. and the bags lookalike. The TC was so rude and that's the reason why we Indians are behind. He was not trying to co-operate as well and these kind of persons are those who spoils others image as well those who are govt. Servant. I Request you to please take strict action against that person because we are human beings and we tend to do mistakes and B P Singh knows only one thing that if it is not his fault he will not help people. But instead he is paid for that and we are the ones who give him salaries.

            i am having problem with sudden changes done in Pick and Drop time..suddenly 9 coach train is came on paltform instid of 12 coach...how much problem people have to face......have this people think about ...
            some time new tail is on paltform , indicator is showing Borivali....after settledown in train same is changed in to the VIRAR just because it is New tain and Brovali is coming on platform no 1 ......

            why this all things happen....................

            Western Railway — Ticket Booking window at Goregaon(E)

            All the 4 Ticket booking windows at goregaon(E) should be open by 6.45a.m.However all the four are seldom open by this time.This leads to long queues in the morning.
            Approppriate authorities should take note of this and do the needful.

            Hello the first class ladies compartment of the train 2094A contains abusive drawings of men and women. Please take measures to rub them off the interiors of the compartment. Ii is so disgusting to sit inside such a compartment with such provocative drawings.

            I am doing this complaint against commuters coming from Vasai or Virar, They block the train compartment gates and does not allow Bhayander people to board the train even though there is enough space inside the train. When the train started, we observe that there is huge space inside the compartment. We can see from wrong/ opposite side gate, it’s totally empty, few people easily get inside from that side.

            Further, the 8:25 a.m.local which starts from Bhayander to Churchgate, We hardly get any opportunity to get into the same as many people from Mira Road make a return journey. They are mostly into groups and they does not even get up from the seat at Andheri or at the most at Bandra. They sing or play games or sleep on the seats. This is totally an injustice to the people of Bhayander who hardly gets an opportunity to board this train and for those who have boarded they just go by standing for almost hour and half.

            For Bhayander People, it's very difficult to travel in the peak hours (specially between 8 am to 9 am)as there is only one train which starts from Bhayander and there also we do not get any opportunity to Board because of the Mira Road commuters making a return. And for the trains coming from Virar or Vasai, people blocks the compartment gates.

            Why western railway is not taking any strict action against these commuters travelling with groups. I would request that western railway police force should be available on platform and take strict action against these peoples.

            I meet RPF office in the bhayander office to lodge a complaint for this, as per their reply they said that they have not received enough complaints against these issues hence they cannot take any action.

            I would request Western Railway to take strict action against these groups who does not allow people to enter the compartment. Further, the 8:25 am Bhayander to Churchgate Local should not be stopped between Borivali and Mira Road, in the same manner as 7:43 am Bhayander to Churchgate Local, so that the issue of people taking a return journey is avoided. Further, I would request the Western Railway authority to start atleast 4 new trains from Bhayander to Churchgate between 8 am to 9 am as no new train has been added by the western railway in the peak hours from Bhayander. Its time for western railway to take Bhayander people's problem seriously and take necessary action before anything unwanted event takes place.

The said path has been totally occupied by Hawkers making walking difficult on the approach bridge to the railway station

              Hi,

              Here I am describing my complaint which is as under:

              I had to go to Lucknow from Delhi on 18- Sep- 09. Since confirmed tickets were not availabel to Lucknow ,therefore I had got reservation up to Kanpur in Shram Shakti express. I had traveled in Shram Shakti express upto Kanpur and then I purchased general ticket for local tarin of Rs.12/- which wsa up to Lucknow. But unfortunately I slept in train and when I got up, the train was on Badsah Nagar Station.I left the train at Badshah Nagar Station to come back to Lucknow station. The fare of Kanpur to Badshah Nagar Station was Rs.14/-.Thus extra fare was Rs.2/-only.TC had demanded Rs.50/- and didn't ready to give us any receipt for that. I did not agree to pay Rs.50 without receipt. I requesed him to show me the rule of extra fare. But he behaved very rudely and told me that its not my duty to show you rule book.if you want to see rule book go to DRM office and see there. I was ready to pay any amount but only after getting receipt of that amount. Ultimately TC agreed to give receipt and charged me of Rs.252/-(2 excess fare+250 penalty). I want to know that the charged amount is as per rule or not? If not then how can i get the amount.Is there any rule to punish the TC.

                I booked a ticket in Handicap reservation Quota for[protected] in Vidarbha Express. Birth No. was 1 & 2 in SL1 compartment. This compartment was attached to General Compartment. When I try to enter inside, it was already occupied by General Class people. As it was crowded, I am unable to go inside and missed the train.
                It was stupidity by rail authority that they had given this compartment near to General Class. General Class is always crowed and Handicap people may get hurt because of outside crowd.
                Secondly name SL1 is similar to S1, hence it may confuse most of the people to get in right compartment.

                I want to ask, Is it necessary medical certificate should be in local language.Railway will not accept if it is in Hindi.I want to divert your attention towards a booking clerk in Varkala Railway Station.Once I went to
                Varkala Railway station to book my ticket to Ernakulam.As I am living in Jaipur so I have a Railway Concession certificate in Hindi.I present my concession certificate to malayalee staff at the window.After cheking my certifcate he said I can't give you concession ticket because whatever it is written in the certificate I can't understand because I don't know Hindi so you should bring certificate in Malayalam or English then I will you concession ticket.I had a long argument with him in this matter but he didn't agreed to give concession ticket to me.After that I went to the station master .He was kind person he checked my certificate and he find nothing wrong in my certificate and he called him by phone and asked him to give the concession ticket after that I got my concession ticket.I got my ticket but I was really hurt thinking our own people are not giving any respect to our National language Hindi. It's shameful.I want Railway Minister or other Railway Officials should seriously do something in this matter.After all Railway is not a State property It is Central and most of the work are done in Hindi or English.

                  Myself K.K.Dwivedi.I with my wife got reservation in Train No.2650 (Karnataka Samparkkranti Express ) FROM bhopal Junction to Yashwantpur Junction in I A.C class (confirmed status) on dated 04/05 /09. But when we reched station on same day there was no First AC coach available in train. we run here and there with our lugage finally T.C. suggested me to sit in II AC coach as I AC coach is not atteched today in train. We, travelled in II A.C. from bhopal to yashwant pur. During this T.C checked my Ticket it was confirmed Ticket for I AC. He alloted us 3&4 nos seat in A1. and told that I am giving you a slip of differance amount .after finishing jourmey u collect your differance amount from yashwntpur current reservatin window. i went there but person sat at same counter told us that till now t.c has not updated pnr no. so i can not give u money. After that i AGAIN TRIED NEXT DAY , next to next day dut he used to say same thing. Finally I came back to bhopal I could not get my differance amount. I have MY TICKET AS WELL AS differance amount slip issued by T.C in train. Please help me to get my money back I as I was recently married on that time and was going banglore ooty etc. Due to their fault I suffered alot and till now I could not get my refund also.

                      Sir, now a days railway has become just like an 'anathashram'. what irctc think that every facility it provides to passenger is a mercy to them. the recent incident reminds the same. i was travelling from banglore to delhi by banglore rajdhani on 10 oct 09. the bedding and towels provided was such that even a anathashram fellow will refuse to take. bedsheet and towel were torned and in a very dirty condition and smelling. when i asked to the attendent he replied that sir ' what i can do, these all things are being provided by contractor. when i asked who is the contractor, he said thar some RK is the main contractor. Same is the case with food also. blanket was tornes and dirty.

                      now i think that railway has become a ghost service and being ruled by some contractors or mafias.

                        I booked my ticket no. 02329689 & PNR No.[protected] for VALSAD TO BEAS(AMRITSAR) IN TRAIN NO. 2925 PASCHIM EXPRESS FOR DATE 15.10.09.

                        I have complain that yester day i.e. 14.10.09 my reservation status was RAC no. 9, 10, 11, 12 today in the morning at 10.00 PM when I checked my reservation status I found that I was allotted two RAC no. in coach no. A1 at seat no. 41 and two RAC no. in coach no. A2 at seat no. 41.

                        Now I dont understand when my RAC status was continued no. i.e. 9,10,11,12 then how the allotting officials are allotting the no. in two different coachs and why they can't allot the continuous no. in same coach.
                        whether thesre is any vested interest of the officials who was alloting the seats. whether they want to adjust the proper booking of agents or their near dear ones or the so called VIPs. please let me informed.
                        If no response will be given I will call the information under RTI.

So I went to Surat station at 9.20 am and asked for platform ticket for my brother who came to leave me . One lady was issueing the tickets to all passenger I asked her for ticket she given me ticket and I paid her 10 rs then she was asking for 1 rs Change .I just asked her what is the coast of 1 ticket . She started giveing me bed words on my mother and father and said don't ask me about the coast I said it's your work u have to. Answer . Then again she started giving me bed words . Now u tell me is this is the to talk with passenger and what indian railway is teaching them she don't have any decipiline . How this type of cheap peoples r sitting on this post I was willing to complain to station master but I was getting late so I left it's mentally broken me for moment . And also she haven't paid me back my rest money she said i[censored] want ticket than go and bring change . So sir now u tell me what I have to do pls take any action againts her . Si pls reply me and Di your needful in this case and i request u to teach them how to talk with people they r our public servant not our boss . I hope u will listen to my complain.                             But, after the introduction of 2 days Tatkal, it is impossible to get a booking online. Even if I am online, it doesnot accept until 08.00 AM. But, the moment it opens, the system stops working & comes back after 5-10 mins. only. By this time, all the tatkal quota is full.
                            The change intrduced by the new Railway minister in her budget is just for the change, it is neither benefitting genuine tatkal travellers.
                            Also, I suspect, there is a fraud being done by agents. Otherwise, it is impossible that all the tatkal tickets can go offline within 1-2 mins.
                            Indian Railways Software/Commercial people, I request you to investigate.

                            Indian Railways - online booking — Potential fraud in online booking facility

                            Today, all Tatkal tickets across all classes on Hyderabad-Bangalore route for 3-Jan-2010 vanished by 8:15 itself. One may be tempted to dismiss this as a case of sour grapes, but what is to be noted is that none of the websites (irctc, yatra, cleartrip) were able to proceed beyond accepting the source & destination stations for me - and I have a 512 kbps broadband.

                            At 8:15 they started showing availability and by that time already waitlist of 100+ started showing. How is that possible?

                            I strongly suspect illegal collusion between people in charge of the online booking facility and some travel agent(s) whereby the facility will be withheld for a few minutes for the common man while agent(s) with specific IPs can make merry. Request immediate investigation into this issue.
                            open tatkal booking from 5am insted of 8am through internet and also start issuing general tickets through internet and all types of concessionstickets also this will reduce total rush at railway reservation counters

                            Indian Railways — Taking 2 forms from Travel Agency Agents at 8AM

                            When a normal person goes to any Railway Station in Pune, there they can find so many Travel Agency Agents at Ticket Booking Counters with many reservation forms in the hand.

                            If it is after 8:30 AM, that is somewhat ok. But in Tatkal Time (Morning 8AM - 8:30 AM), at some counters, some of Ticket booking clerks accept two or three forms from the Agents. I don't know how they accept more than one at that peak time. So that remaining people do not get the Tatkal Tickets.

                            If anybody asks those clerks regarding accepting multiple forms, those clerks get angry and they stop doing booking the tickets and go away from the system at that peak moment of Tatkal booking time. I have faced an issue regarding this with a woman clerk at KHADAKI station, Pune on 10th March'2010. If this happens, how do the normal people get the Tatkal Tickets?

                            To get the Tatkal Ticket at reservation counters, everybody needs to go the railway station around 4 AM. So many people are coming at 4 AM also. Still because of those agents with multiple forms, normal people are not able get the tickets.

                            The number of agents is being increased day by day and they occupy all the first places. If some agents are there in the Queue, some other agents come into the Queue. If anybody asks "Why are you joining the queue when you don't stand in the Queue?", they say cock and bull stories like "I slept in the station only, I went for tea/smoke. So I stand in the Queue."

                            Every normal passenger is facing these kinds of problems now days. Please take proper action to control the agents and clerks giving and accepting multiple forms.
                            It's a scam run by Indian Railway...Indian government has no morale... Official said Tatkal booking will be opened before 2 days... I kept my eye on net and was following the number of seats... It was Available-30...and could not book due to restrictions of two days... Fine... All of the sudden, Available has become-005 just three days before... Where was all the Tatkal tickets gone? What about restriction of two days... Isn't it some kind of scam? Jai India and Jai Indian Raiways...Keep up your scam...

                            TATKAL RESERVATION IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE BY TRAVELLING PASSENGERS / PUBLIC ON INTERNET FROM 8 A.M. (7.55 AM. ITSEL[censored]) FOR ALMOST 45 MINS. to 1 HOUR. IRCTC WEBSITE JUST DOES NOT OPEN / BECOMES EXTREMELY SLOW / TIMED OUT / ‘THIS PAGE CAN NOT BE OPENED’ etc. AND IF, BY CHANCE IT OPENS & WE ARE ABLE TO LOGIN, AND BY THE TIME WE CAN GO THROUGH SERIES OF STEPS / WEB PAGES, ALL TATKAL SEATS ARE GONE (IN LESS THAN 5 MINTUES ITSELF)!!!

                            AT THE SAME TIME, AMAZINGLY, MANY RAILWAY AGENTS ARE VERY MUCH ABLE TO MAKE TATKAL BOOKINGS DURING THE SAME TIME THROUGH THE NET! HOW COME THEY HAVE A SPECIAL PRIVILEGE IN THEIR FAVOR? SO, IT SEEMS, THE AGENTS’ LINK WORKS WONDERFULLY WELL & THAT OF PASSENGERS, WHO MAKE THEIR OWN BOOKINGS, SEEM TO BE MADE DELIBERATELY SLOW TO FACILITATE THE AGENTS TO BOOK THE TATKAL SEATS OR WHAT???!!!

                            8 DAYS IN ADVANCE (RS. 50 EXTRA & 10% OF TOTAL RESERVED SEATS), 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE (RS. 75 EXTRA & 10% OF TOTAL RESERVED SEATS), 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE (RS. 100 EXTRA & 10% OF TOTAL RESERVED SEATS), AND LAST DAY UNTIL CHART PREPARATIONS, RS. 150 EXTRA (5% OF TOTAL RESERVED SEATS).

                            <<<CHART SHOULD BE PREPARED MINIMUM 12 HOURS IN ADVANCE (AS EXPLAINED BELOW)>>>

                            ALSO, MANY PEOPLE TAKE HOME FOOD (CAN'T COMPEL THEM TO CONSUME TRAIN FOOD), AND NEED PREPARATION TIME.

                            THESE CHANGES ARE NEEDED with IMMEDIATE EFFECT, as the 2-day TATKAL SCHEME is A MISERY & GIVES ENORMOUS PROBLEMS TO TRAVELERS.

                            WE HOPE DEEPER & ELABORATE THINKING FROM THE PASSENGERS' VIEWPOINT & PLIGHT WOULD BE BORNE SUPREME BY BOTH INDIAN RAILWAYS & IRCTC AND ABOVE CHANGES WOULD BE INCOROPORATED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, WHICH SHOUD HAVE BEEN DONE LONG TIME AGO!

                            Yes. There must me something fishy going on without the lnowledge of the Railway officials.We are able to log on to IRCTC website throughout the day except for an hour every day at 8 am in the morning.How this can happen particularly when TATKAL booling starts. It is only to help corruption and nothing else.Who is responsible for this.Is somebody in the Railway department using some technique to block the website at 8 am every day?
                            Who will investigate?Whether the Vigilance department of Railways aware of this problem and if so what is the action taken by them? Public need a convincing answer or the Tatkal booking should be possible throughout the day as is available in respect of general bookings-online atleast a week in advance.Otherwise, for genuine trave;llers TATKAL booking is a mere useless scheme.Providing information of ID at the time of booking should be re-introduced to prevent Agents from booking all the tickets everyday at 8 am.
                            I would suggest railways to make it mandatory to carry ID Proof for each passenger whom the ticket is assigned to, even for the counter tickets as well. this way the agents will not be able to book tickets with anonymous names and they wont have any option to book tickets without the proper customer details.

                            There was a time when people used to say it proudly that we are Indians...Those days are no more left. Since here everyone has engaged herself or himself in order to collect printed papers marked with the pic of Mahatma Gandhiji.

                            Few of them(9.14% of entire population) have collected the same in such a large number, if they want, they can exchange the same in order to avail all kind of facilities for their entire life by simply sitting idle. (These personalities have their own private vehicles to commute from one state to another rather countries.)
                            Category: Non Railway users.

                            Few of them(15.85% of entire population) just thinking to collect the papers in order to catter their hunger on a daily basis. (These personalities never think about commuting for long distance rather they want to live & die in the same place where they born & brought up.)
                            Category: Rare Railway users.

                            Few of them(75.01% of entire population) simply spent 70% of their life in commuting. For higher studies, to avail good job oppurtunities, to find out the good life partner, to attend family functions, to meet friends & family members, to avail good living standard, for taking care of parental properties, in attending condolense, for health treatment, for attending official meetings & ofcourse to collect printed papers as well. (These personalities are 95% dependent on Public transportation & railway is one of them.)
                            Category: Frequent Railway users.

                            By using the advancement of new technology(Internet Reservation) Railway Employees, (who are desperately waiting for the oppurtunity to adopt the short cut for collecting printed papers in bulk) have added new flavour into the behavior of Frequent Railway Users & converted them to Frustated Railway Users.

                            So guys if you want to live your remaining life with the flavour of Happy Railway Users, kindly show your violence which is hiding behind your silence & lets gather to let them know that even we can also use the technology(Mass Media), to add the flavour of "Ex + Railway Employees".

                            This is our India on which we feel proud .We should feel shame on our infrastructure that we cant even provide a basic things to people.whether its lalu or momta it doesnt matter they all work for money.if they dont have enough train they should talk o big banners in this country like private airplanes.Shame on momta banerjee and railway.

                            I strong believe that there is some fraud/scam going on in TATKAL reservation.

                            I needed to travel from bangalore to delhi (dep: 19th june arr: 21st june).
                            There were 3 trains available... karnataka express, sampark kranti & rajdhani, of which RAJDHANI had more number of seats (3A) for tatkal reservations (96) compared to others.
                            Hence, i went to a local travel agent in bangalore on 16th june and made the full payments in advance (Rs.2400), as i was sure getting a ticket by online reservation on 17th june 8am myself is going to be difficult.
                            I really don't understand why the railways has put a restriction of 2 DAYS ADVANCE BOOKING ONLY FOR TATKAL QUOTA.

                            Now the funny part is that, when i went to the travel agent on 17th june 9am, with whom i relied for my confirmed tickets says that he could give only a WAITLIST ticket 32, and assured the ticket would be confirmed within 2 days before my travel date.

                            Please note that before 8am, there were 96 seats available... and at 9am the availability position is -32... ie 108 RESERVATIONS DONE WITHIN 1 HOUR FOR 1 TRAIN IN TATKAL QUOTA??

                            Now as the travel agent had advised, I collected the CKWL ticket (Tatkal Waitlist ticket) no. 32, with an assurance that my tickets would be confirmed. The travel agent asked for another Rs.80 which I payed without dispute.

                            The actual fare in ticket was Rs.2385 plus IRCTC charge = Rs.20 and Agents charge = Rs.20.
                            So the actual fare as decided by railways was Rs.2425... and I paid Rs.2480 to the agent... an excess of Rs.55 which I ignored.

                            Now, to verify if there is any fraud/scam going on, I had tried myself to do an online tatkal booking for the same train on 20th june today (ie. 18th june) just before 8am, when the irctc website promptly alerted:

                            "Please Check The Journey Date...
                            The Date Of Journey Should Be Within Two Days From Today eg., on 1st you can book for journey upto 3rd."

                            And right from 8 hrs to 8.20 hrs, the https://www.irctc.co.in website was not accessible.
                            "SERVICE UNAVAILABLE" was the message which I was getting for the 1st 20min.

                            At 8.20 hrs, when I was able to login to the website, I was not able to fetch the station code in the reservation screen.

                            "REQUEST FAILED: 503 SERVICE UNAVAILABLE" was the new error message I was getting.

                            Untill 8.40 hrs, I was not able to fill all the details in reservation screen without errors.

                            When I checked the SHOW AVAILABILITY at 8.40 hrs, I was shocked to see that the status was showing WL 6 / WL 6.

                            In 40min, all the available 96 seats in tatkal quota were booked & the position showed minus 6... all in all... 102 reservations done in 40min.

                            Now the next funny thing was that, when I tried to book the waitlist ticket by clicking on BOOK TICKET option, again I received an error message: SERVICE UNAVAILABLE!!!

                            NOW WHAT AM I TO JUDGE???

                            Is anybody at Railway authorities trying to find what is wrong??... and how can this be corrected??

                            Can any body explain me what is this forum and how does it take our complaints forward and upto what level. I have very bitter experiences with Tatkal booking and i wanted to cry here too but only if i know that somebody is listeing to those cry and taking action, other wise there is no point in crying here.

                            I have also faced same type of issues while doing TATKAL RESERVATION. Just to tell you frankly there is nobody to help you out of this neither any Travel agent(since they are blocked now for 1hr from 8 to 9 am). So what is the solution??

                            Can anybody tell, whether this tatkal tickets are over and above the standard available tickets or the regular tickets are blocked and sold for a higher price.Because, I remember that when TATKAL scheme was introduced, additional coaches were attached to cater for tatkal reservations. Now a days I feel that the regular seats are blocked by the rlys and sold for higher price... Can any offical reply????

                            My name is Bhanu Pratap Singh. I booked 2 tickets in KOTA JANSHTBDI( train no.-2060) for 17 Nov,2010 from NZM to KOTA in 2S class. My PNR Number is[protected]. My tickets were confirmed and seat number D2,103 & D2,104 were alloted to me. But on boarding the train i found that there was no seat number 104. The last one was 103. Even the chart on the coach shown the confirmation of the seats, one of which doesn't existed. Who is responsible for this fraud and the harrasement caused? What kind of action can i take whatsoever?
                            I completely agree. Now getting tatkal booking is not difficult but impossible. Even booking agents after galloping a lot of money are unable to confirm on booking. It seems to be only benefiting the agents and worst for general public... dear railway minister please bring back old policy of 5days tatkal booking

                            Online ticket booking is issue right from the beginning we all know that. Even for Tatkal, the website is not available for common man. Even when Star news was giving the news of particular software, How it stopped giving the news, on the day of Railway Budget.                             Today I tried for Tatkal Booking at 8.10am.
                            LTT - RJPB exp showing 6 availibility - I clicked on Book. I paid Money quickly through credit card. All this was done within 2-3 minutes as system was slow.
                            And then when I saw the final ticket after payment - I was on CKWL 45!
                            What is this? the system is NOT at all Reliable.
                            Also is IRCRC is not able to handle to sudden hits of online reservation at 8 am then please allow some seats to Make My Trip.com / Yatra.com / ClearTrip.com.
                            I am sure they have stronger system anytime than IRCTC.

                            I am from Tamil Nadu. I came here for official work. I want to book tatkal ticket for my return journey on 22/05/11. I knew about the renowned irctc.co.in which is famous for not getting tatkal tickets so i went directly to Indian Railways Reservation Counter. I went by 5.30 am already,three people were standing before me. I joined the queue. I had some hope that i may get a ticket as i am standing 3rd in the row. Almost 40 people were standing in the queue. Finally the officers from Indian Railway came and opened the counter by 7.45am. They put a board in front of the counter "LINK FAILED" and gave a BSNL Number for enquiry. We called them they simply told we are working on it. We waited patiently till 8.30 but still the no response and all my ticket gone waitlist. Even the officers were not in seat only 1 or 2 persons sitting inside even they dint respond to us. People started leaving and so do i. I am really frustrated, being waiting here from 5.30 onward i am not able to get atleast waitlist ticket and this is happening in the CAPITAL "GANGTOK" of sikkim. Please address this issue. This is really shame on Indian Railways. I have enclosed some photos for reference. Sorry for my bad english.

                            Today is 31st MAY 2011, loged in IRCTC website for tatkal reservation from Bangalore To New Delhi by Karnataka Express on 2nd JUNE 2011. But i found that there is all ticket is full and staus was REGRET for 2nd JUNE 2011, But i was shocked, when i saw there that all tickets of 3rd JUNE 2011 in takal quota are also booked and status was REGRET. When tatkal ticket can book only before 2 days then how can be seat full in tatkal quota of 3rd JUNE 2011 on 31st MAY 2011?
                            WE NEED TO TAKE OUT SOME KIND OF MOTIVATIONAL MOVEMENT LIKE Mr Anna Hazare TO STOP CORRUPTION AT IRCTC...
                            The system is obviously corrupted, even if someone can give the excuse that the IRCTC website doesn't work on that time due high traffic, so how can be explained that also tatkal tickets are not available even in the counters!, the railways staff is running a racket with this matter and nobody is taking any action to stop these practices, the tatkal system needs a revision and a strong protest from the public to get the things on the right path.
                            This is really true, Server went down or online gateway brought down by some of IT people in railway. Only Internal access to railway network is available at the mean time. Why this happening ? & For how long do we people suffer from this corrupt railway department ? When the transparency will come into our work ?

                            Their is no extra load on the server or Network during the peak period of 8am-9am. Server will accept only those number request that we had configured on firewall or router or on server. Their is something wrong & misconfiguration done intentionally at route during that certain period of time.
                            This is surely a scam and a ticking time bomb... Right from Railway Peions to Mamta all are getting money out of this... when will this country be free from such corruption!!!

                            Imagine I could not get inside irctc.co.in with 10 mbps speed!
                            I am fully agree with the post. I feel there is a biggest scam going with this tatkal scheme and there should be some investigation on this, may be it is a multi crores scam. This is what happened with me. I was trying to book tatkal ticket for date 19th June 2011 from Bhubaneswar to Bangalore. I had internet speed 1Mbps,
                            I was trying to book with following two trains
                            1. Train BBSR YESVANTPUR express No 12845(SL-100, AC3-26) = 126
                            2. Train PRASHANTI express No 18463 (SL-233(That particular day), AC3-26) = 259
                            I became ready by 7.45AM well before 8.00AM the booking time. Everything was fine just after 8.00AM everything slow down, I was stuck and I did not get a chance to book; simultaneously I was checking seat availability from other website (erail.in and indianrail.gov.in), to my surprise within fort 3 minutes all the (385) tickets were booked every time i refresh a bulk of 20/30 tickets are getting reduced. This is absolutely impossible considering the fact; the number of booking centers available in orissa will be around 10. Definitely these railway people blocking the tickets and earning huge amount of money in black.

                              Today I had faced with a kind of discrimination with the railway police. My wife was leaving home and by the time I reached station it was just 5 minutes away for the train to leave. I went to the platform ticket counter and there was a huge queue there. Hence there was no other option but to ask her of the chief ticketing officer. I went upto his room and explained the emergency to him and he agreed me to enter the platform provided I take a ticket on my return. I ensured that my wife has boarded the train and while I was returning another office caught me for not having the ticket. I explained all this in detail but she denied to let me go. Meanwhile, there were 4 people also caught by the same officer for not having the ticket and once she found me in, she just let those people leave and I was asked to stand there and pay the fine. I even went to the officer's room but the same person who had given me the consent to go in denied to identify me. I wouldn't mind paying the fine, but there was an utter discrimination against me while letting lose some people who has committed the same offense. Moreover, the queue at the counter was so enormous that my wife would not have made to the train incase I stood there to buy the ticket. Anyways, I hope that there would be some more better and effecient mechanism in the near future.

                              Indian Railways — Issuing of local train tickets at Tambaram

                              Respected Sir/Madam,

                              This is in regards to the long standing Queue at the Tambaram railway station for issuing the Local Train tickets to the people. I notice that though there are 2, 3 counters for issuing tickets, but theres just one working counter where the train tickets for passengers are issued daily. People stand in such long queues in the morning. I dont understand why the railways is so irresponsible on simple things like this. People stand in the hot sun just for one ticket. when the people travelling in the train are loyal and doing their duties as an obedient Indain Citizen...why cant railways reciprocate in the same way.
                              Please consider this as a humble request and open few more counters at least during the peak hours of the day!!!

                              Its very bad for such a huge public sector firm... that they dont hav a simple machine for plat form... But friend u can move to a court to prove ur innocence... The indian railway should mind one thing that the revenue they earns is passenger's payment n the officials should also keep their dignity while dealing with passangers.They should ensure that they deals correctly... So please deal these simple things first...
                              The Same kind of Incident happened me too in chennai and its Tambaram Sanatorium RailwayStation chennai. They asked me money. When I paid they give receipt of type excess fare from Beach station to Tambaram with out ticket. But the incident happened is was I dont have platform ticket. If the railway employee really have enough tallent please catch people who wont buy ticket for travelling. They leave all fraudulent and cheaters and even the person who kill people by bomb or gun at railway station happened in mumbai. Is really railway taking steps on that? railway employees should feel shame for that.

                                They told “we the people seated there after getting down, in NAIHATI, BANDEL, KALNA ,NABADIP, then you can seat. They ware very arrogant and misbeheabeed
                                using abused language and threatened me, said “don’t argue with us otherwise it will be very cosly for you.It was terror not a single RPF/GRP or TTE present there.then I took place in front of Toylet. After coming BANDEL Jn same character daily passenger borded from bandel . After NOBDIP I took my proper seat.

                                  I booked I-ticket PNR No [protected] on 16-sep-09, but till date ticket not received. I confirmed by irctc helpline no[protected] on 28-sep-09 & where I found the courier detail (overnite courier & con id-[protected]) & I called overnite courier on 29-sep-09 (overnite contact no-[protected]).They said, your ticket have lost, we will give you duplicate ticket , I am not understanding how will they give me duplicate ticket and its not my mistake , pl send me my ticket on my address as soon as possible

                                    i Normally travelled Three to Four times in Month on a route Ambala cantt to Ghaziabad or ghaziabad to Ambala cantt by Train through " SHALIMAR EXPRESS " With Train Number 4646 . I always booked my Ticket through IRCTC -E Ticket Service and every time this thing happened to me that as every time whenever i reached at the Ambala cantt Railway Station to catch the train at 4:45 in the Morning then most of the time My Boogie Number is D1 and as train Stoped at the station and i checked all the Boogie's but as always i never found Boggied with Serial number D1 as i confirmed with the T.T for the same at the railway station then they Misguided me as he is also not aware about the same ,By this three times i missed the train and i running here and there at the Railway Station with Confirmed Ticket like a fool person ....

                                    When i checked the reservation Chart which is Fixed on the notice Board at the station At there also i have not found the passengers List of Boggie with Serial number D1 , As I also confirmed this serious concern with Station Master at the Ambala Cantt Railway Station the he also confirmed that Yes we are aware of this and said that " peche se isme D1 ke Boggie hoti he nahi hai , iske liye humne bhi complaint kari kui hai ".... Here i would like to also add this thing that iam not the only person who is faced this as all the passengers who has confirmed ticket ticket of Boggie number D1 are unable to trace their seats .

                                    Now as i totally disgruntled from the services i want to to know the Root cause of the concern as again in the coming few days i have to travelled at the same Route .

                                    Please Take it as a serious concern , Waiting for reply from your Side within 72 hours Otherwise it will certainly Esclated at the Next Level. I still have copy of My Ticket with all the mandatory details , if it is in need i will send scanned copy .

                                      I m daily up down from viramgam to Ahmedabad in viramgam to Valsad (250WR) Pass train. It Departures right time but at Vasana Iyava and gora Ghuma this two station no any ticket window. so passenger collect ticket from guard after stop the train at station. Departures is at this stations is only within 1 minutes. but in ticket selling process it take 15 to 20 minutes and train become 30 to 40 minutes late.
                                      Problem is not this, problem is passengers who travel from viramgam and get ticket from this station. from viramgam to this station passenger travel without ticket everyday.

                                      So i request to you that please open ticket window at this tow stations and stop guard to serving tickets.

                                        Hello,

                                        I am having problems with Indian Railways. I had made two transactions to book two railway tickets but Indian Railways has charged the amount twice each. Which means I had made a transaction of INR 1123.87 + INR 477.44 = INR 1601.31 and Railways has charged INR 1601.31 x 2 = INR 3202.62 on my credit card. I am yet to get INR 1601.31 as refund. Indian Railway has not refunded any amount.

                                        I am following up with them many times but they do not respond to my mails properly. If they do, they repeatedly ask for the same information and delay without any solution/refund. Now, my credit card company has charged interest charges + service tax + late payment fee. The recurring total due to the non-refunded amount by Indian Railway is increasing.

                                        The main catch is that, the Indian Railways have removed all the transaction records from my IRCTC Online Account to tamper with the proofs I have. However, I have the screenshots of those transaction which can be presented. I have suffered monetary loss. Also, few months back, I had received a letter from Indian Railways stating that they have resolved the issue, which is not true.

                                        And/or who is the contact person of Indian Railway who can handle this issue. Can I get the email id/or any other information to contact?
