MY WIFE WAS TRAVELLING FROM PATNA TO RENUKUT THROUGH PALAMU EXPRESS( TRAIN NO..3348, COACH NO. S-2, BEARTH NO. 17&20) ON 14-NOV-2009. ACCOMPANIYING WITH HER WAS HER MOTHER.NEAR DEHRI-ON-SONE STATION HER LUGGAGE WAS STOLEN. ONE THING SHE NOTICED THAT THE MIDDLE BEARTH WAS OCCUPIED BY DIFFERENT PERSONS AFTER EVERY STATION . IT SEEMS THAT THE TTE WAS INVOLVE IN THIS SINCE HE CAME TO THAT BEARTH AFTER VERY STATION. WHEN PEOPLE STARTED COMPLAINING HE RAN AWAY AND NOT CAME AGAIN.PERHAPS HIS TURN WAS COMPLETED AT THAT STATION.

MY WIFE IS DAUGHTE OF ONE OF THE SENOIR RAILWAY OFFICE DEPUTED IN WESTERN RAILWAY HOWEVER WE HAVE NOT COMPLAINT ON THAT BASIS. THIS COMPLAINT IS JUST TO OPN THE EYES OF RAILWAYS OFFICIAL THAT PLEASE STOP THESE KIND OF INCIDENT OR ATLEAT HAVE A VIGIL ON THE TRAIN3348 PALAMU EXPRESS YOU WILL FIND HOW YOUR TTEs RA ETAKING Rs 50-100 FOR EVERY BEARTH AND COMPROMISISNG WITH THE SAFETY NORMS.

    Sir,
    I booked a Tatkal Ticket for train no. 2987, date of journey 16/11/09 from Allahabad Jn to Jaipur vide PNR no.[protected]. The train got 14 hours late hence I tried to cancel the Ticket and plan my journey again. But at Prayag Railway Station's Reservation Counter (Allahabad), I was told that I am not going to get any refund amount for the same. On the other hand as per the Internet information given on the website http://www.indianrail.gov.in/tatkal.html it was clear that if the train is late for more than 3 hours then Whole ticket amount including Tatkal charges will be refunded. So, I returned from the counter without getting my ticket cancelled. On the website the rule is stated as following:

    #

    REFUNDS - A flat refund of 25% of total fare charged on the ticket, excluding tatkal charge is granted on cancellation of tatkal ticket, which is presented for cancellation upto 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. However, full refund of fare and tatkal charges will be granted on the tickets booked under Tatkal scheme in the following circumstances :-

    *

    If the train is delayed by more than 3 hours at the journey originating point of the passenger & not the boarding point if the passenger's journey originating point and boarding point are different.
    *

    If the train is to run on a diverted route and passenger is not willing to travel.
    *

    If the train is to run on diverted route and boarding station or the destination or both the stations are not on the diverted route.
    *

    In case of non attachment of coach in which Tatkal accommodation has been earmarked and the passenger has not been provided accommodation in the same class.
    *

    If the party has been accommodated in lower class and does not want to travel. In case the party travels in lower class, the passenger will be given refund of difference of fare and also the difference of Tatkal charges, if any.

    So, kindly do justice with me at earliest and the genuine claim.

    Indian Railways — Delay in Refund of Tickets

    Sir,

    I have sumitted my unused ticket at Mumbai Central station. I have not yet received refund even after 90 days. To whom I have to claim.

    Indian Railways — Delay in getting Refund

    I booked ticket through IRCTC but the ticket has not got confirmed so I filed TDR on 15/06/2009 but Yet I have not got the refund.

    In case you need further details pls let me know
    i h ad submitted tdr No 519799 dt 2 5 11 but i have not recd the refund(for Rs 3802/-) PNR No[protected] Train No 16359 Date of Journey 1 May 11 Palakkad to No of passengers 3(three)My Tel No [protected] I shall be frateful if the refund is grantred at the earliest

    Indian Railways — no refund of tickets for cancelled train

    This refers to non refund of tickets PNR no. [protected] by Indian Railways / IRCTC despite the train being cancelled. The train in question is 0320 Summer Special Ranchi to Howrah for 17th October, 2010. On my journey date, I checked at the Ranchi station enquiry on the date of travel and was informed that the train has been cancelled and since I had booked my tickets through IRCTC I need to file the TDR online. Subsequently, I raised the TDR Transaction ID: [protected] on 18th October 2010 in the IRCTC website and after multiple followups I received the mail from IRCTC on 26th Nov 2011, indicating that Railways have regretted the refund without assigning any reason. I am shocked by the response from Indian Railways; this is plain cheating of innocent railways passengers who for a cancelled train have not been refunded the full amount despite wait for more than a year. I would like an immediate action from top railway management to stop this cheating and ensure immediate refund for me along with suitable compensation for uncalled waiting for over a year for this refund.

      Hi,
      Incidence Occurred:
      Location: Khammam Railway station, Andrapradesh
      Date: 14-Nov-2009, Time: Krishna express arrival time [If you have basic knowledge on Krishna express it never reaches in time]
      Enouncement summery Krishna express was delayed by 1:30 hour [Like all Indian government services railways deportment eating passengers’ time and patience],
      Especially Railways deportment never bothers about schedule train times and about the reserve the seats. Whether the passenger got into the train or not? .
      Old couple waiting for the Krishna express in khamm railway station they reserve the ticket for A/C chair. They enquired in railway station [with railway station master] approximately where A/C coch will stop so that they can get in easily. There is no proper answer from station master, His answer is he can’t tell [Even beggar in the station knows very well where A/C coach will stand]. There are no indication boards where reserve coaches will arrive, you have to depend on someone.
      Railways station is already over crowed. Krishna Express arrived [No one knows why it’s named as express] . Suddenly people running and showing their power to get into the train.
      Poor old couple shocked there is no one to guide them; they searched for A/C coah no luck. It’s stopped too far; they are misguided by station master.
      They decided to get in into general coach. Husband is able to get in to train it’s already over crowed.
      With great difficulty he is able to pull their luggage. When Old lady is about get in into the train, train started she is unable to get in, she fell down. Husband can see only she is fell down. There is lot of crowed in the train entrance he is unable to get down also. He thinks that she fell down under the train, he became unconscious. Gurd saw that she was falldown, But he never care for the life of that old lady. [ If his mother in the same situation if will do the same?? Is not human being?? Even animals shows curtsey in that situation] . He didn’t stopped the train
      After 3 min he is able to pull the chain [one of the chain is not working] , By that time train reached outskirts of khammam. If running back on railway track with for 2 kgm [ his age 55] with heart was full of sad . He lost his hopes on his wife’s live. He is full of sad and crying.
      He reached the station and found his injured wife. By the grace of god she is alive and safe. [They are going to Thirumala for venkateyswara Darshanam ].

      1) What is responsibility’s of station master?
      He doesn’t know where A/C coach will stop? He knows very well train is already delayed passengers are over crowed, Is not his responsibility to increasing the stopping period??
      2) Is Indian railway providing jobs for animals also??? [ the guard behavior is more cruel than wild animal]
      I know very much there will be no use of this long mail. [When we asked khammam station why you can’t stops the train for 1 more min, its coast of one life.
      His response is ……these type accidents are quite common]

      But still I have faith in god, at least I can alert the Indian people how much value Indian railway’s is giving to human life]

        Sir,

        Discomfort to the Passengers: Train No 7406 Krishna Express

        We had the fortune to travel by 7406 Krishna Express form Adilabad to Secunderabad. We boarded the train on 14 Nov night at Adilabad and arrived at Secunderabad in the early hours of 15 Nov 09. PNR no of our ticket: [protected]. We occupied berth nos 57 and 60 in Coach B1. My co-passenger is Mr J Durga Prasad. This representation is on behalf of both o[censored]s. Rather, it can be perceived as the representation of all the passengers who traveled in that train on that night along with us.

        Though AC was not effective, we did not bother about it. Some where in the night, we got up with a jolt due to discomfort in sleeping as our bodies were severely moving laterally and we found the coach moving laterally for 15 cm in one direction. Consequently, bodies of all the passengers were moving laterally for 14-15 cm and at a rapid pace. Children got up and started crying. We had to hold on to the chains of the berths to save us from falling down. At one stage senior citizens like us felt that no longer we can sustain the rapid lateral movements of the body. The train was speeding up mercilessly and there is no way to convey the discomfort of the passengers. It went on for almost half an hour till some station came to our rescue.

        It was a nightmare, and we were helpless. No attendant or conductor was around to register our complaint or report the matter. It appears that the Railway staff did not feel the incident as abnormal and it only goes to show that passengers’ comfort is not in their scope of work. Else, they could have come subsequently and apologized for the discomfort and also assure that the driver of the train have been warned and advised to be careful in future. Running trains in time with utter disregard to passengers’ comfort is no customer service. What passengers should get should be a package of comfort, time, hospitality, facilities, cleanliness, safety, security etc, for which they paid considerably.

        I therefore request you to investigate the matter and issue suitable directions for running the trains with passengers comfort as a supreme factor.

          My one big Air-bag of blue and red colour locked & kept below my berth no 15 of B1 Coach of 3AC of 2916 ,Ashram Express was stolen somewhere between Ajmer and Mehsana (since it was last seen by me around midnight) while coming from Delhi to Ahmedabad in the night of 26th Oct-27th Oct.2009. I noticed the theft at Mehsana Rly Stn at about 06.00 hrs and immediately reported the matter to the TTE who was found sleeping at Berth No 7 ,beside my berth.I searched for my bag in nearby AC Coaches and inquired from Attendent of the B1-3AC Coach .Even I called on my cell no which I kept in the side pocket of the bag along with my specs before sleeping ,at about 06.10 hrs and ring went on my cell no which was there in my stolen bag .Cell no -[protected] (IMEI no of my nokia phone [protected] ).

          Since this is a case of theft in AC Compartment and if this type of things continue ,everybody will loose total faith in your system.So please try your best so that my Stolen Bag from 3AC Coach of 2916 Asram Exp gets recovered as soon as possible.I have already reported the matter to TTE concerned, RPF on duty during rest of my journey from Mehsana to Ahmedabad and filed the FIR at Ahmedabad Rly stn on 27th morning at completion of my journey.

          Beside my cell the bag was containing many valuable items ,cash and my personal belongings including my clothes,PAN card ,Driving licence ,important books ,camera ,torch,calculator etc .The involvement of TTE and attendendent in this crime is not ruled out.The role of RPF & GRP is also deplorable who are getting salary on the basis of tax paid by honest citizen's hard earned money.If they are not there to solve any of the theft case then why they are there?Surpisingly I sent to email to all concerned if Western Railway and North western Railway ,taking email from railway site but half of them returned and rest nobody bothered to reply.Who cares the consumers when one is getting too much from tax payers fund by right and wrong means.

            Hello,
            A ticket bearing PNR no[protected] dated 04-May-2008 and ticket no 12044076 with From Station as : Mumbai CST, Boarding point- Pune and To Station: Bhubaneswar was not utilized because of non confirmation of Berth.

            As the train had already departed Mumbai station cancellation of ticket from boarding point was not possible and hence a written confirmation was taken from station master on the ticket itself for the cancellation through TDR on 4-May-2008 itself. A TDR with Receipt No 405104 was raised on 12-May-2008 ( the delay in raising the TDR was because the TDR forms were not available with the station master) at Pune station and sent to CCM refund, 2nd floor, CSTM Central RLY, Mumbai, through Registered Post bearing no A 8432 on 13-May-2008. The registered post contained the original ticket attested by Station master for cancellation on 4-May-2008, Original TDR and its carbon copy.

            Now it has been more than 1.5 years the refund is yet to be received by me despite multiple reminder to the CCM through normal and registered post. The ticket amount was Rs 1888/- and i have spent almost Rs 400 for the follow ups.

            Please expedite for enhancing the faith on the Railways.

            Awating a Refund at the earliest.

              Hi,

              This is with regard to the recharge of Smart card issued by Indian railways to purchase
              tickets for chennai users. I recharged the smart card 2 months back for rupees 100/-
              and after few weeks i tried to purchase a ticket in the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine but my balance was 0. i didnt use the card to purchase any ticket after recharging, hence my balance should
              have been rupees 100 with some bonus recharge value which is offered during every recharge.

                I have travelled from Mughal Sarai to H Nizzamudin by Train no 2569 JYG NZM G RATH on dated 06.11.2009 under PNR No [protected]. The train reaches NZM about 7 hrs late. The train took more than double time from MGS to reach NZM. I do not know the reason of delay.It took me under mental and physical tiredness.I am a service person and i have to join my duty on 07.11.2009 which fails due to this abnormal delay. I fail to comply my committment to my management.

                Will INDIAN RAILWAY will compansate me for my time loss ,mental and physical tiredness?

                There is no one on the train who can give us the correct information nor there is any security in the compartment. It seems the railway is not taking any lesson from past incident.

                Hope i will get proper justice.

                  Dear Sirs,

                  Reference to my complaint for Train No. SNP7 from Palwal to Shakur Basti. We are boarding in this train from Tuglakabad . The reaching time of train at Tuglakabad Station is 17:02 p.m. but this train is getting late 30 to 45 minute in daily routine. Due to this we are missing our Train No. 4085 Tilak Bridge to Sirsa from Tilak Bridge station. Most of the passenger traveling in this train for Rohtak and Bhiwani.

                  You are kindly requested to take the necessary step on this.

                    Hi,

                    I am a dailly passenger of intercity express from Palwal to Okhla((My route).Today asusual i got my train from Palwal in General coach.At Ballabhgarh Miss/Mrs. Vijay Laxmi Rawat(Some authority) took one Sticker names LADIES COACH and pasted out on our coach.

                    Then she claimed seats to the passengers which were coming from Agra too and at every station after that Ladies got in this coach and ask the fellow mail passengers to stand and get into other coach. During this they used very bed emotional language.

                    Can any kind of authority make any coach ladies coach during Journey by pasting a Sticker??????????/

                      Sub: Loss of Baggage in Running Train (2150 UP, Patana – Pune Superfast_ 20 Oct 2009) (Allahabad)

                      Dear Sir,

                      Please refer the FIR (Copy Enclosed) on above subject dated 20th Oct 09.
                      I was travelling from Buxer to Pune on 20th Oct 09 with my wife and two children and was in coach S-5 seat 18, 19, 21 & 22.

                      The luggage (Red Color VIP Alfa Suitcase Trolley Type) was under the seat. My Self and Wife has last seen the same when we the crossed MugalSarai Station. The same was not available when the halted at Allahabad Station.

                      I Tried to Lodge a complaint at GRP Allahabad when I was asked to leave the train if I want to Lodge a Complaint.

                      Finally the complaint was lodged with TTE (a Staff of Jabalpur). The baggage was containing my Photo Identity cards, Wife’s PAN Card, Military Pension book, Canteen Cards with other documents, Jewelry and personal effects of around 02 Lakhs.

                      This has been acknowledged by most of the railway staff and passengers that, The theft is more often happening between Mugalsarai and Allahabad Station.

                      Please let us know the status of my application and the remedial action to avoid such incidents from your end.

                        I have booked 2 tickets 27/04/2009 in Poorva Express. In which 1 seat was confirmed in the end.

                        But the other seat was not confirmed. and neither we got the other seat among two.

                        I asked by agent to return money. Agent says it took 100 days to get back money, but now its been over 5 months.

                        Kindly find the attachment for more details.

                        Kindly look into the matter and inform me refund is possible or not ?

                        Indian Railways Ticket — WAIT LISTED3AC TICKET

                        IN THE LAST WEEK OF APRIL 2008 I HAD BOOKED A TICKET BY RAJDHANI TRAIN NO _2444 FOR JOURNEY FROM NEW DELHI TO TATANAGAR.WE (SENIOR CITIZENS )WERE SHOWN WAIT LISTED NO 8 AND9 FOR DATE OF JOURNEY ON 18 JUNE 2008 .ON THE DATE OF JOURNEY WE WERE DENIED ACCESS AS WE WERE STILL ON WAIT LISTING 8 AND 9.THE TICKET DETAILS TKT NO 42989045, PNR NO[protected].
                        I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE TRANSPARENCY.
                        WE JUST CANT BELIEVE THAT OUT OF APPROX NINE HUNDRED SEATS
                        THERE WERE NO CANCELLATIONS DURING THE SIXTY DAYS.
                        ALSO WHAT ACTION INDIAN RAILWAYS IS TAKING TO TAKE CARE OF PASSENGER INCONVENIENCE SPECIALLY TO SENIOR CITIZENS .

                        I had booked a ticket through irctc.co.in in the month of june, 2008 which i later cancelled but at the time of cancellation the site was facing a communication error so i mailed them about the cancellation which they approved.
                        The ticket was cancelled on 14 June 2008 and later in the month i received a letter regarding my cancellation and credit of refund money within 3 months but till date no refund have being made.
                        i had call several time on irctc helpline but they always repeat the same answer as when they get a refund from indian railway they'll credit my account.
                        I am fed of calling irctc and finally seeking help from you so that i could get my hard earn money back and our prestigeous Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav feels where does his service to people lack in terms of refund .

                        Recently I had travelled with my family from Jaipur-Allahabad-Jaipur, under ticket nos 28003151 & 28003153/ PNR Nos. [protected] & [protected], on 11.02.2009 & 14.02.2009.While the onward journey was aweful because of presence of a lot o[censored]nknown passengers (not holding reserved tickets), but the return journey was horrible because already the coach was full of army personnel. When i requested to get my seat vacant, they flatly refused. I reported to the TTE, but he said the TTE coming from Kanpur would see. But after that I couldn't see any TTE in the train till Jaipur. The proper ticketless travellers were kind enough to allow my child & wife to sit & I came throughout standing. After a long gap I had travelled in sleeper class & now my daughters are afraid of travelling by train. Is it that we have only to bear with such situations & you/or your TTE are unable to protect the proper ticket holders.

                        Indian Railways Ticket — NON RECEIPT OF REFUND

                        I HAVE BOOKED RAILWAY TICKET THRU IRCTC WEBSITE VIDE PNR NO :[protected] FOR A JOURNEY FROM CHHAPRA TO NEW DELHI FOR 13.05.2009. TRAIN WAS DELAYED FOR MORE THAN 12 HRS. DUE TO ABOVE DELAY, I COULD NOT COMMENCE THE JOURNEY AND CANCELLED THE TICKET ON 14.05.09 (BEFORE ARRIVAL OF THE TRAIN AT THE CHHAPRA STATION).

                        DUE TO ABOVE CANCELATION I AM ELIGABLE FOR REFUND OF FULL AMOUNT I.E. RS.917/- FROM INDIAN RAILWAYS. HOWEVER FOR LAST SIX MONTHS, INSPITE OF SEVERAL REMINDER AND FOLLOWUP RAILWAYS AUTHORITY HAS NOT REFUNDED THE MONEY DUE TO ME.

                          i took reservation in mathura patna exp.(train number- 3240). my pnr number is [protected]. i got sleeper seat rs7-39. but due to miss managment of railway i could not recieve my seat. railway has not put coatch number in out side the coatch and railway di'nt placed coatches properly. they put last coatch in first number from engine. due to these mis management faced many problems in whole jouney. i want your help and judgment.

                                I had booked an e-ticket on Oct 24, 2009 details of which are as follows:
                                Train Name - Siddeshwar Express (from Solapur to Mumbai)
                                Journey start date - 2nd Nov 2009
                                PNR No.[protected]

                                Until today evening, BEFORE the chart was prepared, the status was showing as RAC 5 (I checked this on 1st Nov around 2200 hrs as well as on 2nd around 1500 hrs). Now, when I checked the status again AFTER the chart is prepared, the status is showing as Wait List 2.

                                When I called up 139, I was not given any response and the phone was being disconnected by the customer care officers.

                                This seems absurd and I needed to understand as to how the status can change from RAC to Wait List?

                                  I am a student of nm college of commerce & economics , mumbai studying in F.Y.J.C. my native place is amravati ,as a bonofied college student i applied for railway concession (diwali vacation).i was given railway concession form no. d 881293 for cstm to amravati journey the said form was duely signed by college authorised signatory , i went to andheri station for amravati reservation for 9th oct., with this concession form & requested the cocerned person to please issue me the ticket of 10th oct., of train no 2111 the concerned person asked me to verify the concession form fron vile parle station master at this junction how i can verify this form with vile parle station master . i paid full amount(287rs.) of fair and recieved ticket with PNR no.[protected].,
                                  I went to amravati station for return journey reservation with form no. d881294 on 30th oct.,i was supposed to travel from amravati to cstm mumbai. again the problem was same the lady sitting on counter at 9 :30 PM refused to give me concession and asked me to verify the form with vile parle station master.
                                  Student concession form booked is issued by railway authority and record is also maintained then what is the purpose of verifying concession form by issueing station master.
                                  I request the concerned authority to simplify the process and stop harrashing students. kindly guide me what i should do now for getting return journey ticket with concession. I may b refunded difference amount of ticket i paid full fare(287 RS.).

                                    My one big Air Bag containing many of my important papers ,clothes ,items ,books ,and cash was kept below my side lower berth (No 15) was stolen from inside 3AC Compartment-B1 , in 2916 Ashram Express from Delhi to Ahmedabad in the early morning of 27th Oct 2009 .The TTE Mr Advani/Nadwani was found sleeping by the side of my side berth (At Berth No 7)when I noticed it in the early morning on 27th at Mehsana Rly Station.I first reported the matter to TTE, RPF on Duty and searched in my compartment as well as nearby AC Coaches ,and logded FIR at Ahmedabad Rly stn with difficulty who logded it on behalf of Mehsana GRP where I noticed the theft.I last seen by Air Bag weight of about 12-15 kg after midnight and I kept my Nokia mobile and specs also in side cover of the said bag .Soon after noticing the theft I called from my wife mobile to my no and a full call went,soon after it was found switch off.Interestingly one rig went to the said mobile on 28th and 29th morning for which I am not sure was real or due to BSNL fault.
                                    Since it contains my important valuables and it seems that this is nobody's business to recover my item I plead to all who can help me to recover my items through this forum.

                                      on 28/10/2009 at 7.50 pm i go to ticket booking office at kopar station & asked 4 ticket 2 diva for the vasai road-diva passenger ( vasai road-kopar-diva ) the ticket booking clerk denied ticket & told me that the time of the train has changed & train had left the station ,
                                      The arrival time of the train on kopar station is 7.58 pm & b4 10 minutes he told me that train had left the station .where the train has yet 2 come at kopar station .

                                      i was there to help my relatives 2 unboard there luggage at diva station . it was easy 2 me to find them in train at kopar stn & help . but i don't get ticket for that passenger & from diva it proved the headache to find them & unboard luggage .

                                      when i returned 2 kopar i told about incidence that happen so that no other person should be suffered . But then he simply told me that vasai road -diva passenger is not a passenger but express that does not halts at kopar station .i show him the time table sticked in front of him . but he starts criticizing me for what i had suffered.
                                      so i finally decided 2 lodge complaint against him for that i had 2 go dombivali .in complaint book there was not enough space 2 write incidence . what i can write on it cannot clear my side wholw.

                                        I have experianced this twice till now that I book ticket of 2 tier A/c and on boarding the train we get are informed that we have been changed to 3 tier A/c and we can get the difference paid by my destination station.So I have two complaints against Indian railway......

                                        1. If I have 2 tier A/c ticket and if it cannot be provided to me, I should be informed about it before boarding the train so that I can make my own arrangements....and not forced to travel in any other class decided by railways for me.

                                        2.I tried to get difference paid by railway but instead they kept me sending from one office to another.. saying that this is e-ticket and it will be only paid from Delhi office... now am I suppose to go all the way to Delhi for getting my money paid back....

                                        I am so much disappointed by Indian Railways that.... I really want to take some firm step taking it as my own responsibility to change India towards becoming a better country...........
