Respected Sir/Madam

With great regret this is to bring to your kind information that my mother in law Shri Vanadana was travelling from dehradun to chandausi by link express on 3/09/09. She was alone having the E Ticket and ID card with herself, the TT has terrified her that this ticket is not valid and taken the fine of Rs 370, she was very much harresed and told that she will be dropped on next station, she even do not know the name of TT.
I am sending you the scanned copies of ticket and fine charged by TT.

You are requested to take prompt action againt it so that such type of activity do not occur with some one else.

Thanking you

Sir/Madam
Since being new to this situation, I would like to put forward a question based on railway fine imposed by the authorities. A person is caught on the railway platform without platform ticket, how much fine that person has to pay the authorities?? Its understood that person was wrong but not on purpose since he didnt belong to this state and was new to the station..cant that person be excused?

I would be really grateful i[censored] explained me the system of the railways.

Regards
Hanah

Indian Railway — Unnecessary Fine

Yesterday I happened to travel from Seawood Station (New Mumbai) to Kalyan. This is my first journey from Vashi to Thane. I took a ticket to Kalyan via Thane. I know that trains are available to Thane from Vashi Station. So first I caught a train to Vashi. I could see a Thane trains waiting on the platform number 3. While changing the platform one ticket examiner Mr. Sunil Nair (badge no 1369) checked my ticket and told me that you are not permitted to come to Vashi Station. According to him I would got down at Sanpada station and catch the Thane train from there. I had argued with him saying that I knew trains are available from Vashi to Thane and I do not know its route. And to catch the Thane train I came to Vashi and I was not aware that it is passing through Sanpada Station. But he then called his superior Mr. D. N. Dhengle (badge no 380) and both of them forced me to pay a fine or Rs. 255/-. According to them I have traveled from Sanpada to Vashi without ticket. I just want to know whether they are right? If they are right please make necessary announcements so that public will be aware of these TTs who are waiting there to trap the people like me.

I sent the office boy to purchase 6 tickets which came upto to Rs. 3559/- Since he was short of Rs. 20/- the Cantonement Railway station booking counter by name Anjana Kumari cancelled the confirmed ticket and charged Rs. 60/- First of all how can she print the ticket without the cash in hand. What if the boy had no money at all would she pay the cancellation charges from her pocket? Anjana was in a hurry to leave the counter as her boyfriend was waiting and was in a major rush. She printed all the tickets and was not willing to wait even 2mins for the boy to make a phone call. Is this the way Indian Railways makes money out of poor people? The boy had to pay the cancellation charges from his pocket? She could have retained the tickets till he remitted Rs 20/- and if he did'nt turn up she could have cancelled and made some bonus out of it. It was a large sum of Rs.3539/- how foolish can she be? Is Anjana Kumari efficient enough to continue working in the railways if she thinks her personal life is more important? Is this the efficiency of the Indian Railways? Where is the humanity? Where is the efficiency? Thats the reason private companies are doing more better than governement organisations due to lack of thinking and efficiency.Anjana has no time to think, nor is she efficient, she may have got a job in the railways due to the SC/ST Category. Not even 2mins and the railways cancells your ticket without your consent and charges you Rs.60/-flat. I need an explanation.
She is not eligible for the job..I suggest to Railway Department to remove from the ticket counter

My ticket no 88585083 pnr no [protected] date of jouney 02/10/2009 by train no 2812 Hatia LTT Super in 3A coach B-1 Berth no 3 from Nagpur to LTT. This coach/bogey was very dirty, seems that it has not been cleaned for more than 6 months. The berths were filthy. when boarded at nagpur was given used bedding (blanket, bed sheet etc) of previous passenger which i refused to accept. There were lots of cockroaches near the A/C vents. The curtains were smelling very badly, the cieling was dirty. Even the house of a poor person is more clean. We are paying to get a clean place to travel. Even the condition of the suspension system of the coach was bad, whole night could not sleep because the coach was badly swinging from side to side. This was my worst experience. My duty was to make the railways aware about my views. Thank you

            Respected Sir/Madam,

I have a grievance to be addressed.

I tried to travel from Hubli to Belgaum on 29th September, 2009 by Rani Chennamma Express [Train no 6589]. I had to take my 11 months old ,fully vaccinated dog - Golden Retriever and booked it under Parcel section and paid necessary fees for the same. The receipt no is 448682. The parcel section wrote on top of the receipt that "loading and unloading will be done by the party". On reaching the BREAK VAN, the GUARD of the train by name Mr Nazim behaved very rudely saying that he wont allow any DOG inside the BONE [ Provided by Indian Railways to carry PETS will be in GUARD's Compartment].

On requesting, he started giving many invalid reasons saying that the Parcel fellows themselves have to come, when I was ready to load and unload the DOG and be just next to the BREAK VAN in the General Bogie. He even pushed me off from the train when it started and the public who were watching started shouting at him. But he didnt budge. I went back and complained to the Station Master who convinced me to board the next train named Jodhpur Express. I did so and came to Belgaum.

Its not the question about me travelling back, but please do let me know whom to register this complaint and tell them to educate their staff to behave with people politely and orient them what would be the concern of PET LOVERS. When we follow the rules framed by them, why dont the staff follow the same rules. If it was the mistake of Parcelling authority, why is that I and my DOG were punished...? Let the Railway staff learn how to GIVE RESPECT & TAKE RESPECT.

I have taken his snap in my mobile. The receiving Parcel section in Belgaum didnt give me a copy of the reciept, but told me to note down the number....What else can be done regarding this issue...?

I am attching the photo of the GUARD who behaved RUDELY & INAPPROPRIATE...And my innocent Dog who wasnt allowed to board the train though he had the right to....

First off All you should have made a police complaint as the gaurd pushed you out off the train.
Then gone to the station master. Its good that you have registered with a consumer complaint, you shoud have also got this to the media to get the railway authorities a taste of it.
Your Golden Retriever looks very sweet ... take care

              Sir,
Please refer to the Ticket No 38876962,PNR No.[protected] for travelling in Train No 2562(Swatantra Senani Exp) DELHI TO MUZAFFARPUR, ON 27/09/09 in 2 AC.

We boarded the train at New Delhi at 20.35 and found that the AC of the coach was not functioning and on enquiry ,was told that it will be ok in couple of hours. But later no body could be found to address the problem and the whole night problem remained the same.In the morning we talked to the TTE again and he showed his helpnessness and said it was not within his perview. As the afternoon set in, it became horrible to sit in the coach without AC and still no body came to our rescue despite everybody showing his anger. The next 3AC coach however was cooling fine.

As if the Railway was not satisfied with this, it was a shock to find that the quality of food (lunch)served in 2AC was pathetic and we wondered how Railway is taking the Passengers for a ride.Out of four Chapatis ,three were just less than even half cooked and not fit enough to be eaten by even a begger, forget the AC passenger. The Dal was more a coloured water than cooked Dal.The Sabji ,when opened was half filled and just boiled enough without any trace of oil for frying. As per the list hung in the corridor, they are supposed to serve Zeera/peas pulao or good quality rice ,but the rice served was anybody's guess. There was no sweets etc. When I called the manager of the Pantry ,he refused to come and sent his men to simply pay. However we insisted for complaint book and cash memo , but they were not ready to give either. When our destination was about to come ,he finally gave a cash memo No 2887 dated 28/09/09 and then we paid the money.

I wish Railway Board officials show enough courage to take some action against the Pantry Car Contractor and also take action against the officer who inspects the coach before using the same.No passengers have time and resources to run after the Railway for compensation for non functioning of AC, but the Railway should be courteuos enough to do the needful on its own.

I HOPE SOME BODY IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAY IS LISTENIG.

GOD BLESS THE RAILWAY AND THEIR HELPLESS PASSENGERS.

It all about Mr. A K Jayadevan at about 1345 hrs on 25 sep 09 at reservation ticket booking counter no 1 James street (secunderabad).
I was there for geting ticket for me and my family on FRW.
This man has refused to book ticket saying "You will get it done only at conter no 29 thats also after getting stamp of MCO"
I asked whether this is rule he replied "Don't teach me rules"
I asked sugesstion book he replied "We don't have, neither we need it.
You can go anywhere you like"

The same tickets I got from different counter at SJVP.
This way simply this guy has not discharged his duty and wasted valuable time of a bonified soldier. Such people must be penalised it is my humble request.

                      Dear Sir/Ma'am,

I was travelling from Shujalpur(SJP) to New Delhi on 23rd September 2009 from Malwa express. Birth allotted to me was middle birth. I was feeling feverish and was on medication, as a result of which I fell asleep a little time after boarding the train. As my birth was middle and the time was around 4:00 PM, it was totally unfair of me to sleep on my birth, so being a gentleman I took permission from a fellow passenger to sleep on the Upper birth in the same compartment.

TT came and as I was asleep my ticket wasn't checked and subsequently was alloted to someone else.
When I questioned about the same TT was adamant that I didn't board the train from my scheduled boarding station even after confirmation from my fellow passengers.
The details of my journey are as follows

                      Train number: 2919
                      Date of journey:[protected]
                      Birth number: S6 - 29 (Middle Birth)
Time of boarding : 3:40 PM
                      Boarding station : Shujalpur
Place of investigation and allotment : Somewhere between Shujalpur and Bhopal (between 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM)

                      My questions here are:

                      1) The reason given to me was you were not sleeping on your own birth. If my birth is 29 and I was sleeping on 30 which is directly overhead and it is certainly not advisable to open the birth in the day time. Shouldn't the TT had asked for me.

                      2) Isn't it the duty of TT to check the unauthorized passengers in the reserved coach? If that is the case why didn't he wake me up to check my ticket if I was sleeping just over my own birth.

                      3) Can TT threaten me to throw me out of the train if my ticket was not checked, even though I was travelling with a legitimate ticket.

                      4) Why can't the cancelled birth be reallocated? Is it because of the unauthorized share of TT

                      5) TT was stating that it is my responsibility to get my ticket checked. Half of the time TT doesn't even board the train. Does that mean I have to roam in the entire train on a wild goose chase.

Kindly iterate the rules regarding the same.

                      Thanks and Regards,
                      Mudit Jain

The AC and light were not working that day in our coach. That day it was really uncomfortable to have our dinner in emergency light. Despite of complaining again and again they were not listening us and were not providing the complain book.We are paying so much for AC coaches to make our journey comfortable but Indian Railways are not working properly.I kindly request you to look into this matter and take some step.

I undertook a recent trip to Assam from Howrah in 2nd AC and was shocked to note the mess the services are into. AC coaches are supposed to be premium accomodation, I thought. Staring from cockroaches, unauthorized vendors, eunucks, unreserved passengers, everyone has got a free passage even in AC coaches. Worst of all, the attendant as well as the TTE are silent on the issue and says 'We can't do anything' upon complaining. I travelled on 11th Sep by 3rd AC from Howrah to Barpeta Road by Kamrup Express and took the same train on my way back on 17th Sep. but in 2nd AC. But the situation was the same on both the instances. Can anything be done about this??

I booked my ticket through e-ticketing from Sasaram to Jamshedpur and got W/L 8. On 25.06.09 I got my ticket confirmation SMS from the number 139 which was B- (56) . So, I got up at Sasaram station, Thereafter I was not provided with my bed roll nor even anyone turned on to check my ticket and when requested for bed roll from my side my request was ended up by informing me that my name is not on the list .
As this is an important issue and should be dealt with a hope of improvement.

                              Dear Sir,
Train No.8184 Runs Between Danapur (Patna) to Tatanagar. There is only one AC CC Coach attacched in it. Beind a frequent traveller on the subject route I have noticed that apart from unauthorised daily passenger, there are some 50 teenaged students who use to commute the train betwen Bakhtiarpur & Mokama and use to terrorise the genuine paengers. The paengers traveeling with family and young females are the worst ufferors due to vulgar comments and eve teasing. Majority of them play cheap loud songa on their mobile phones and irritate the passengers. Due to fear of manhandling neither the TT nor the passengers dare to retrict them.

Apart from this train other train are also being stopped unauthorisedly at the doorsteps of these hoodlooms. This has become a regular routine on the subject route. Nearly half of the AC CC Bogy is occupied either by RPF/GRP personnels or by daily pasengers claiming themselves to be staf of Railways.

It is my humbke request to Railways to take immediate corrective action in this regard to avoid any mishappening / shameful act on the running train in this route.

                              Regards:

                              Indian Railways — SHAMEFUL ACT

I would like toآ highlight some un-acceptable behavoiur that Iآ faced atآ Nizammudin railway station on 16th evening.

I am an NRIآ, based in Dubai and had travelled toآ Delhiآ to meetآ myآ Mother and other relatives.آ

My mother is a senior citizen and resides in Nagpur.آ She had come from Nagpurآ toآ Delhi.

She was returning on 16th by Rajdhani from Nizammuding station toآ Nagpur and I had gone to drop her.

When I reached the station, to my dismay the line for platform ticket was very long.آ I still stood in the que and was told that there was no Platform ticket till 30th June .

I went into the station to drop her to the train.آ On my way back there was a person standing at the exit and asked me for the ticket.آ I told him that the person at the counter said there was no platform ticket .آ The person at the exit said it is not hisآ problem and I must pay fine.
Since I had no choise, I accepted and he asked me for INR 255.آ I gave it to him.آ The receipt he gave me was forآ excess fare.آ I have the receipt with me.آ When I asked him why he was not giving me a fine receipt he said he was trying to help me !!!
When I insisted I need a fine receipt, he told the three policement standing there ( and watching the whole incident )آ to arrest me.آ He said the magistrate will come after two or three days and then he will decide.

I had no choice but to take the excess fare receipt and come out quitely.

This is a shameful incidentآ and casts a very poor image of the railway ministry.آ آ

                              Indian Railway — UNAUTHORISED PASSENGER

                              Sir,

I am referring here my agony that I have suffered in last train journey. I travelled along with my friend and his pregnant wife on18-Th JULY 2008 by 3142 DN TEETA TORSA EXP (PNR NO:[protected], TICKET NO: 92478014, COACH NO: S7, BERTH NO: 18, 19, 22). In the same train there was a group of 36 foreigners travelling from NEW JALPAIGURI TO SEALDAH. THE ENTIRE RESEVED PASSENGER ON THAT DAY DID NOT GET ANY BIRTH FOR SLEEPING. ALL THE BERTHS & SEATS OF THE RESERVED COMPARTMENTS WAS CAPTURED BY SUPPORTERS OF LOCAL POLITICAL PARTY.WHEN I PROTESTED ALONG WITH MY FRIEND THEY THREATENED US.

When the train reached MALDA TOWN, I CONTACTED ALONG WITH SOME FOREIGNERS BOTH GRPF, RPF & T.T.E. BUT THEY DID NOT HELP US. THEY INFORMED US THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DO ANY THING. EVEN THEY HAD NOT TAKEN WRITEN COMPLAINT IN THIS REGARD. SO, WE WERE COMPELLED TO TRAVEL TO SEALDAH WITHOUT GETTING ANY BIRTH AND SEAT.

SO MY QUESTION IS WHY THEREFORE IS REQUIRED RPF, GRPF? WOULD THE RAILWAY RETURN OUR FARE?

                              YOURS FAITHFULLY
                              DEBASIS MANDAL
                              65/A KALI KUMAR MAJUMDER ROAD
                              KOLKATA
                              700075
This is regarding harassments done by pass holders.
As I was travelling from Howrah to Dhanbad by train 2311(HWH-KLK Mail) the daily passengers ( Pass holders) occupied the entire reservation coach(S9) and harass each and every passenger including me. Their groups also hit individual passengers who were asking for a place to sit on their own reserved berths. Moreover the TTE(P.N.Singh) favored them and arrived for checking after the go down at Burdawan, As this was not a coincidence because I travel every weekend by this train to Dhanbad as the TTE was bribed, now this kind of behavior is unbearable. safety must be provided to Individual passengers. Railway must be having some policy to treat pass holders.
I also got caught today at K R Puram, Bangalore station. For me too they gave the excess fare ticket of 253 rupees.I am not sure whether they have a different fine receipt for this. To my surprise I have seen many beggars happly doing their business at the platfrom. This is another LALU MAGIC to grab as much as money possible from commen man. Why don't they ensure that any one with platfrom ticket will not enter in side rather than hiding and trying to caught those unfortunate who had to rush in to see off some one. These guys will never check it at the enrty point and make sure that people get inside and get caught so that they can pocket some bribe or a heavy fine.

Really really shame of Indian Railway
The same incident was faced by me and my mom on 14 April 2009. We had gone to the railway station to drop my dad who was going from Kota to Bombay. We had one platform ticket the other was not purchased since there was no change and mother decided to stay out. But then for some reason she came inside with me. On returning we were fined for one platform ticket and a receipt of excess fare was given to us of Rs.321. On demanding the receipt they were not ready to give but after some arguments they gave us that receipt of excess fare on which there is no mention of fine for platform ticket.
SAME INCIDENT HAPPENED WITH ME, I WAS ALSO GIVEN SLIP OF EXCESS FARE, THEY EVEN ASKED FOR BRIBE, THIS HAPPENED AT AMRITSAR .THERE MUST BE SOME LEGAL COMPLAINT OPTION ? IF ANY ONE HAVE IDEA LET ME KNOW

I am an engineering college student and was travelling from Mangalore Station to LTT Mumbai by 2620 Matsyagandha Express on September 17th 2009 ticket PNR being [protected] 3-AC Seat No. B2/035. A Train Ticket Examiner who had a badge which displayed his name as R. Robert entered the train and demanded that I present an ID for my ticket. As usual I showed him my college ID as i normally have done on previous occasions. He however got into a rage and very rudely and impolitely said that it was invalid unless I produced a passport/PAN card/drivers license/government employee ID. If I didn't have any of these I would have to pay a sum of Rs. 2500. When the passengers who were around me wanted to know the rationale for the amount he had demanded, he was furious and shouted at me saying I should get out of the train. As I was travelling alone I broke into tears and tried to call my parents. He refused to talk neither to any of them nor to the passengers who requested him for his ID. He then disappeared from the scene but after long intervals came back on three occasions saying that he would have to call the police. Co-passengers a naval officer Asst. Commander Shahnavaz, a member of the Rajya Sabha Mrs Sunita and others tried to intervene and he felt the pressure and never showed his face again.
It is clear from the episode narrated that this public servant of the railways who was trying to intimidate and brow beat a young girl student travelling alone in order to extort money through ungainful means. I would request you to let the concerned authorities know about the incident and take immediate stringent action against such errant officers of the railways.
                                My questions are:
                                1. Why is the college ID affiliated to the state recognized university not valid?
                                2. How can one expect young students to possess a PAN card/passport (if they have not travelled abroad)/driving license/Govt. issued employee ID card?
                                3. Is it not possible to make provisions for a convenient alternative ID card accessible to all if it is the intent of the railways to make E-ticket booking facility as a convenient provision for all passengers?
                                Thanking You

At Shahjahnpur station, when I entered in my compartment, TTE informed that no seat/berth is available in the compartment & AC compartment is full; hence they can not allow to enter into the compartment and he wrote/mentioned NO ROOM, NO RAC etc. on face of my ticket & signed accordingly on 16.02.2009 at 24.00 approx. at Shahjahnpur station, also I had requested to please allot me any seat/berth in Sleeper Class but he denied to provide the same as the big also rush was there.

Any how I travelled in general class & reached at my destination on 17.02.2009 at Najibabad. At Najibabad station, immediately I met with SM/TTE regarding refund of my ticket, both officers informed that refund can not be given in cash due to computerized ticket booked and the same had to entered in Computer & at reservation counter, the clerk has collected my Rail Ticket in Original and he has given me a receipt namely TDR No. 014825 dated 17.02.2009 and told me that the refund would be reached at my address mentioned in said TDR, but sorry to say that more than 215 days have been passed and I have not received my refund of Rs.516.00. In the matter, I had also contacted to Najibabad and Bijnor Station for delaying in my refund but they ignored to me.

I travel first class from Matung to Andheri and back . On 16th September the 7:38 pm train that I boarded from Andheri had one coach which was dirted with human feces. Yesterday i.e on 17th September 2009 I happen to take the same train and it too has the . It was not cleaned .. The feces had got spread due to someone stepping on it . Are not the raliways responsible to ensure "No one dirties the compartments " and they are cleaned . This is very common in Ladies First class.

Request the concern authority to looks into the issue.

                                    Western Railways — DIRTY COACHES

I travelled from goregaon to Churchgate on 7.2.2010. I took local which was a fast and was scheduled at goregaon at 9.46 am and took middle first class. the coach No. was 1009A. I entered to find all dirt around. The coach was unclean. Infact I was surprised to see that the seats were so dirty, smelly and was almost black. No one could sit on the seat with using newspaper. It looked like 3rd class. I moved to second class as it was a better one.

It seems that railway department has no time to see it.... may be they are busy in their own affairs.

                                    Whomsoever it may concern,
I am a regular traveller of western railway. These days i have seeing many changes in the basic infrastructure of the railways.
I travel from borivali to mumbai central. Maximum times in the evening while retrurning back from mumbai central to Borivali, train goes to the platform no.8 or 7 in borivali, but there are no such annoucements made in the train on the same due to which many times there is a lapse between the passengers of platform no.7 & 8 when both the trains follow each other in borivali. The number of trains going to the platform no. 7 & 8 is higher in the evening peak time, due to which more rush is found on the platform no. 7 & 8.
most of the people when they get down at borivali they walk towards platform no.1 which shows that the number of people living or preferring near side of borivali platform no.1-6 are more.

I was travelling on the Shirdi - Vishakapatnam Vishaka Express, having departed from the Sai Nagar Station [Shirdi] at 6:50pm on the 10th of September to disembark at the Secunderabad Junction. We were a group of five women, all relatives of mine, and were allocated seat numbers 1,2,3,4,5 in the S2 compartment. As there were very few travellers in this train, only two second class compartments [S1 and S2] appeared to be satisfactorily occupied while the remaining seven coaches were more or less empty through the remainder of the journey.

As the seats were located near the exit doors of the coach, and three of the women were elderly by nature, we even requested the TTE to provide seats somewhere in the middle of the coach. He said that transferring a group of people ie. us, would not be possible, and told us that we could instead lock the doors of the coach at night, as nobody was expected to exit/ enter through the remainder of the night's journey. I slept off around 2 am in the morning and my relative was up around 5.30 am the next day.

At around 8am, when all o[censored]s were awake, we decided to transfer to a compartment in the middle, as the stench from the toilets were too much to handle. It was then we realized that an Infosys travel bag containing my mothers and my artefacts was missing.

Although there was no money or jewelery, it contained a Siemens hearing aid worth Rs. 22,000 and is extremely difficult to replace.

We searched the entire train immediately and even went to locate the TTE so as to report the matter to him. However, he was not to be located in any of the compartments, even in the First Class AC Compartment, where a Railway Vendor reported him to be sleeping. The train arrived around 10am where in we disembarked and reported the matter to a police officer, Mr. Kodana Rao, of the Secunderabad Railway Police. He went in search for the train guard so as to locate the timings and stations the train had stopped at during the night. The guard was not available and the police officer, having heard the contents of the luggage, told us that filing the FIR was a lengthy procedure and downright told us to forget about the whole matter, as we were residents of Chennai and did not take any more interest in the matter.

The travel bag is a distictive blue and cream Infosys shoulder bag, with wheels. The distinctive contents include:

                                      1. Siemens Hearing Aid (red colour) in a white dehumidifier box
                                      2. Homeopathic kit which contains a list headed by the name of Dr. Premila Rajan and her phone number
                                      3. Turakhia blue optical kit containg hair accessories.
                                      4. A book called City of Glass by Alexandro Barisso.
                                      5. Several sets of clothing and cosmetics.

The entire worth of the lost baggage is about 30, 000 rupees.

It is extremely shocking that the TTE was absent when we needed him, and that the Secunderabad Railway Police dismissed the entire matter, on hearing that the most important item was a hearing aid and refused to believe that it was worth 22, 000 rupees.

Taking care of our own belonging is ones responsibilities or someone else??? Are you enough educated "Infosys" guy??? u r missing it by u r own mistake and putting blame on someone else. Is it fair??? now throw the experience and keep the lesson...

                                        Dear Sir:

Last month i.e.in August, I made a visit to Agra with my family from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. I booked my to and fro tickets one month in advance from Rajahmundry at Railway Station. The tickets are not e-tickets.

I booked my return ticket from Agra to Rajahmundry in Swarnajayanthi express for 16th august, 2009. But the railway authorities cancelled the train due to some problems. So, I need to cancel the ticket (total fare paid back by the railways with zero cancellation charges). But many passengers have to start at the same moment to andhra and we got no time to book the return tickets. So, I took the help of internet and booked e-ticket from Agra to Rajahmundry in Dakshin Express.

But, I don't have any photo identity proof with me which I came to know that it is necessary to travel by e-Ticket. Since, I had the original ticket provided by railways (before cancellation of swarna jayanti express), I didn't keep any of my photo identity proofs. So after getting in to the train with e-ticket the ticket inspector charged the total fare on ticket and some extra fine by considering that we are travelling with out a ticket (according to the rules of Indian railways e-ticket service). I showed him my ATM cards with my name and photo, my old cancelled ticket and even the photo identity card of my membership in Dayalbagh satsang, Agra which I visited. Even our names are matching with the list the inspector is having, but nothing worked out. He want either PAN card, Passport, Identity card from a state or central government.

This actual problem arised because of the cancellation of the Train Swarna Jayanthi. What I feel is Railway authorities must run another train because there were many passengers who need to travel. It is the season and many will travel from agra only because they visit Dayalbagh Spiritual organization during this month. Many of the satsangis sufferred a lot. I didn't understand why the e-ticket must require all these photo identity proofs because the ticket will be generated by IRCTC computer only. Infact what is the difference between original ticket and e-ticket. Infact any duplicate person can travel with original railway ticket then why railways is so particular about e-ticket. Every passenger should then carry his/her photo identity card.

Please suggest me whether is there any chance of getting my money? If not please let me know what mistake I did and is it really necessary to carry photo identity card along with e-ticket while the ticket purchased from the railway counter do not require such proofs even though chances of misusing the tickets are high.

                                        Thanking you,
