We had booked a moving service from Mumbai to Chennai via NoBrokers, and have had the worst experience with a moving company ever.
- A little over a week after picking up the packages in Mumbai someone arrived at the address in Chennai with the packages but asked me to help carry the boxes from the truck, claiming the size of the parcel was too large and he wasn't able to bring it up to the house by himself. (I'm a woman living alone).
- When I asked him why he hadn't brought someone with him to help him unload, since clearly they would have realized when loading it on to the truck that one more person would be needed, he said he was expecting someone here to carry it.
- I told him that we had booked the service including re-assembly (of furniture) and labor. He went downstairs seemingly to bring the boxes up, but (probably realizing) he wasn't able to, just left with the stuff.
- Post this incident (for over 2 weeks now) we've been following up constantly on the NoBroker helpline to check on the status of the parcel. They keep claiming they're looking into it but there's been no revert despite repeated follow ups.
- At one point they claimed on the phone that one person was enough to complete the delivery and that they were not at fault.
- On another call we were told that there are always two people who are sent- the driver and one more person, and that the reason it wasn't delivered was that "the delivery was refused at our end".
- On one call we were assured that the deliver would happen in the next few days so I stayed home every single day, taking special permission from my company to work from home, but no one showed up. (This was a week ago)
-The company itself has been extremely unsupportive and unresponsive and keep passing us on to other people when we call the helpline. At one point the manager's gave me his cell number, but then kept ignoring my calls. There wasn't any response to my emails either.
We booked with NoBroker because they promised a "seamless experience" but we've wasted more time on the phone and days sitting around at home waiting for the delivery than perhaps getting some local contractor to do it.
I want to bring this to the attention of all working professionals moving between cities so you don't waste the amount of time and energy that I have.
