| Address: Panipat, Haryana |
I purchased post paid broadband data card connection no. [protected] from Reliance Telecommunications, GT Road Panipat on 15 or 16th May 2012 with a scheme of unlimited usage of 3 months which meant that my payment for 3 months usage was taken in advance and the free usage period was till 15 / 16 Aug 2012. I had written to Reliance to stop my postpaid broad band connection through email and had clearly written that I do not intend to continue with this connection because this connection had not given the promised speed equal to cable broadband and had also witten that they should immediately stop it as I shall not pay anything for the post paid connection.. I received a phone call from Reliance on[protected] with a confirmation that the 3 months period is over and their representative also made it clear that they are transferring the connection to prepaid. As there was no other way to check the start of prepaid connection ( so that I could start recharging of prepaid connection), I had been keeping the data card connected so that whenever it stops, I 'll go for recharge of prepaid connection. Instead of migrating the connection to prepaid , they sent me a bill of Rs. 271-00 for data usage. I had been repeatedly telling them that I have not used it for any other reason except to check the migration to prepaid, reliance has been ignoring my mails and have been sending same type of mails with demand for money and have stopped my connection totally. I kindly request you to please take necessary action so that either my money which i paid at the time of purchase be refunded or the prepaid connection is started so that the instrument, for which i paid should have some value by its use during my travelling.

Hi.
With reference to all our correspondence since 14/ 15 Aug. 2012 regarding my non-willingness to continue with your postpaid broadband connection no.[protected], I wish to once again request you all to read our communication in toto to understand the issue and then send a reply.
Once I wrote to your concerned persons that I do not wish to continue with the connection after the 3 months period ( for which I paid at the time of purchase of this instrument and connection) and had clearly mentioned that I shall not pay anything for the post paid connection. I had received a phone call of one Ms. Pooja Kulkarni on[protected] who confirmed me that my free usage period of 3 months is over on[protected]. She also informed that this connection can be converted to a prepaid connection, for which I agreed and she had sent me a confirmation mail about our telephonic communication.
I already had one spare connection of BSNL for my use and I never required your connection during the period[protected] to[protected] but used to connect it to check if the prepaid has been started or not. It was a delay from your side, and it was never my fault. The amount is not too big for me, but I shall not pay it due to the reason that it was a consent from your side to allow me to migrate to prepaid ( and your company will earn because of the recharge I do). Had you not given any consent for prepaid, I would have forgotten about this data card and would never have used it for checking the start of prepaid connection.
If you are interested in retaining a customer for your data cards nos [protected] and [protected] and the phone no. [protected], please send me a confirmation that I do not need to pay the amount of Rs. 271-44 or I shall stop replying to your e mails and stop using all reliance products.
Thanks and warm regards.

Hi all
Thanks for these repeated mails asking me to deposit an amount which you know I had already informed on[protected] the day on which this amount was not due as per your records) that I will not pay any thing for this post paid connection and had requested you to stop this post paid service. Now, one needs to ascertain before putting the recharge amount.. The only way to know that is connecting the data card. You want to charge for that usage. OK. I am confirming that I shall not pay this. Now calculate tour loss. I will take the case to consumer forum for the slow speed provided by you in comparison to what you promise and you will have to refund the amount I already paid ( which will include the cost of instrument ). I shall not be able to recharge the data card. It will be your loss. I will also not use the data card no [protected] and mobile phone no. [protected] ( which I may, if i join a job or get into some business). So please do calculate your losses. Apart from this, I have reported the matter to TRAI and shall definitely persue for an action against you.
Thanks once again and good bye.

Subject: Complaint against Reliance for cheating and then harassing by askingfor payment of bill ( Broadband data card no. [protected] )
Sorry
I have to forward this correspondence to TRAI for a complaint..
_____________________________________________________________________
Name : SANJIV KUMAR SETH
PRODUCT : Broadband data card no. [protected]
Problem: Speed lower than promised ( CDMA data card no [protected], in my own name only, used to give same speed as Broad band data card no. [protected] purchased on[protected]
Details:
My complaint is that I had informed well in advance for stopping my connection vide email dated[protected] and had informed them that I do not want to continue with the connection because the speed promised for the broadband connection was similar to my earlier CDMA connection ( This clearly means that reliance is cheating in the name of broad band). I received a telephonic response from reliance representative on[protected] with the information that the 3 months period is over and they have processed as per my request. Their representative also agreed for migration of this connection to prepaid. Reliance did not stop the post paid connection. Being owner of the instrument, I had a right to check on regular basis to see if the post paid service is stopped or not so that I could recharge for prepaid service. Now for that period o[censored]sage, Reliance has raised a bill and have been sort of forcing me to pay. They have also threatened that my billing for the post paid service will continue till the time i pay the amount asked by them.
I request concerned officials of TRAI to look into the matter and advise reliance officials to correct the situation by withrawing the bill raised and confirm the same through e mail so that I can recharge the data card for my usage during travelling. In case they do not wish to do so, they should refund the cost of the instrument,
Kindly take a strict action immediately so that the service providers do not harass customers like what they have being doing with me in future.
Thanks and warm regards

Hi
I could not understand this reply. There is usage but that has to be there till you do not migrate from post paid to prepaid. I had clearly written in my request dated[protected] that I shall not pay any amount for a post paid connection immediately after the free period of three months is over.. I am once again confirming that i shall not pay any amount and shall not take any responsibility for the usage. I shall repeatedly connect and use the connection but shall definitely recharge as per a suitable scheme of prepaid once it is migrated to prepaid. So it is in your interest to migrate the connection to prepaid as early as possible. I shall only come to know of migration by connecting the data card so it will have to be connected regularly. Hope this is clear. In case of any doubt, you may please call me @ [protected].
Thanks and warm regards

I had written before the ending of the 3 months period of free use after purchase that I do not want to continue this connection and had asked for discontinuation of the account with immediate effect. Your representative had called me and had confirmed again. They had advised me to get the connection migrated to prepaid for which I had agreed.
Under these circumstances, when everything was clear from both sides, your sending this bill to me is not understandable. I hope you have the correspondence in your records and can easily understand the facts after going through the correspondence.
