I have been an airtel DTH customer for more than a year now. My customer id is [protected]. I would like to bring out the pathetic customer care service provided by Airtel DTH.
***IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DTH SERVICE PROVIDER, PLEASE DO NOT OPT FOR AIRTEL AS THEIR SERVICE IS THE WORST I HAVE SEEN IN ANY SERVICE INDUSTRY IN INDIA.***
1) Their call routing system is from stone-age. Most of the times, the call to customer care does not get routed to technical personnel, it gets abruptly disconnected after pressing the desired options.
2) After 4-5 tries, if you are able to get thru to someone, then the person just listens to you and does not even know how to speak proper english. Believe me, I have spoken to atleast 10-15 so-called 'customer care executives' till date and very few of them speak proper english.
3) On top of that, most of the time the cc executives just cut you off. This is the most frustrating part of the whole story. The moment they feel that you are a tough customer or then can't solve our issue, they disconnect the call.
4) Supervisors are no better either. Though they speak fairly well, they blatantly lie on your face and cuts you off if they are not able to resolve the issue.
5) For any issue, without checking the issue, the plain SLA for closure is 3:30PM EST next day, which is never met.
6) IT'S THE LEAST RELIABLE. EXACTLY ON IMPORTANT DAYS IT WILL GO OFF AND CUSTOMER CARE GUYS WILL TAKE WEEKS TO FIX THIS ISSUE. LAST TWO TIMES IT WENT OFF WAS FOR FOOTBALL WORLD CUP FINAL LAST YEAR, AND IPL SEMI AND FINAL LAST YEAR. NOW ITS CRICKET WORLD CUP AND ITS AGAIN DOWN!!!
Now coming to my latest issue -
1) My Set top box started showing weird errors for past one week and I had to keep resetting it multiple times as instructed by customer care everyday for it to work properly.
2) On 14th March, some of the channels were showing some error and I got the account refreshed thru th customer care ( as usual after multiple tries) and the cc guy told me the issue will be resolved in 30 minuts
2) It did not get resolved, and on 15th March, it just stopped working and LED started flashing red and green lights, it just wouldn't boot up. I raised a customer complaint and they again tried to troubleshoot it online to no avail.
3) I called the cc again after their normal refresh/wait time, and they put in a request for the engineer to visit home.
4) Next day I took a leave from office and waited at home, no one turned up! And throughout the day, customer care number was not reachable!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!
5) Next day, on 17th I again tried to reach customer care guys and same old way, the person on support was giving me next day 3:30pm SLA and I insisted on talking to a supervisor. Supervisor (Sachin - Indore customer care center) and he raised a complaint on behalf of me (No. 6100757) and did not know why the technical service guys did not turn up. He put me on hold for 1.5 hours and finally assured me that the issue will be right away resolved, and tech support will come within 8PM.
6) No one showed up and I just wanted to throw the STB away and switch to some other service provider. But Sachin told me that they were busy with some other work and they would come by next day 12PM to the max.
7) Noone turned up (Assigned support center guys were Mutthiah Enterprises - [protected]) and I had to call them up and finally they reached home by 6:30pm today (19th Mar 11) .
8) They brought a repaired STB for replacement and foolishly tried to convince me that its a new piece. From the looks, it was very roughly used, with no paint on it and looking like a metal crap piece. (The funny part here is: YOU HAVE TO GIVE 350+100=450 Rs WHEN YOUR STB STOPS WORKING. AND THEN THEY GIVE YOU A REPAIRED STB WITH NO GUARANTEE. IF IT STOPS WORKING AGAIN, THEN THEY WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER CRAP PIECE WHICH MAY AGAIN STOP WORKING NEXT DAY - BUT THEY WILL KEEP ON CHARGING YOU!! NICE HUH!!)
9) Now starts the real torture story! These guys asked me recharge my account online and then they would activate the STB-ViewCard pair. They immediately left without waiting for me recharge the account online. They were not ready to take money and insisted on online recharge.
10) As the pathetic online portal airtel has ( I don't know which company maintains Airtel's online portal. Out of 10 times that you try to login, it will let you login only 4 times, otherwise will throw stupid 404 errors or some java exceptions! Out of the 4 times you were able to login, your payment will fail 3 times and if you are lucky it may go thru finally, but your credit card would be charged 4 times!!!)
11) I did a recharge and started calling customer care, and have called them atleast 10-15 times since then.. These guys just give contradicing information and blatantly lie on your face. I spoke to many people named Ankit, Soni, Supervisors name Rahul ( He just disconnected my call) Jitendra, Hidayat Khan.. none of them are able to solve the issue.
12) Some say hardware engineer will come and pair the viewcard and STB onsite. How stupid!!
13) Some of them asked for another day for resolution. Some was so arrogant and just disconnected the call.
14) So I am finally throwing away my STB and switching to another service provider. Unnecessarily I recharged for anothr 1000 Re today and I would rather let it go than spending unproductive time and building up frustrations on a pathetic product/service line like airtel,
15) I am also switching away from Airtel mobile numbers that my family has including wife, dad and mom. I'm not going to take any airtel products in future!!

Sir, PLz check this mail and replay this mail to my id.sir my no is not cannot cannet to 121 so many times i have comp to cast care bust no reply msg sir plz slove my problem .
