Dear Sirs,

I would like to submit the following few lines regarding my painful experience with Bigbazaar. This is one and only trouble I faced with Bigbazaar since 2007. I am a loyal customer to Bigbazaar from 2007 and a completely rely on Bigbazaar for every domestic purchase till date and I experience the best shopping experience also. However, to my dismay this time when I purchased 2 Rice Bags from Bigbazaar, I have not received my goods instead of it I faced humiliation by Officials and staff of Bigbazaar, Super Centre, Ameerpet. They told that goods which were booked by me under home delivary was delivered. But in actual they were not delivered to me.

In this regard, at last I complained against this irresponsible manner at Customer Support Desk in Bigbazaar, Ameerpet. However, in grudge to my complaint again the delivary of 15 litres Oil can which I booked on[protected] has been stopped inspite of reminder to them in personal visit to the stores on[protected].

The references regarding my purchase and complaints are being forwarded to your good offices for your kind perusal and necessary action please.
Thanking your sirs,

Yours faithfully,
A UDAYA BHASKAR

we brought office chairs from them and they are faulty. Inspite of lodging complaint and reminding them 10 times they have not bothered to repair or listen. Every time they take a fresh complaint and request that they will get repaired. They have lousy service and think that they can sell faulty furniture and forget about. IF YOU BUY FROM THEM BE CAREFUL OF THE PRODUCT

First of all i selected a bed for my bedroom after selection and all the stuff was decided and I finalized the bed, the sales man (Mr. Mahesh) told us the model is not available and made us to choose a different model which is available to delivery on 25/10/2011 so we book the model(qb aura PB+foilw/tStrg / code[protected] on 22/10/2011 but on 24/10/2011 I received a call stating we will unable to make the delivery on the said day but some how they managed to delivered but after i received the bed it broke very next day of installation(25/11/2011), I tried to call the store but no one answered so i gave a call to person(Mr. Anil) who assembled the product. he refused to revisit for 3 days so i gave visit to store where he sent a person to repair the stuff next day but i don't know what he did, the other side has broken now. again they are sending the person to repair the same. WHAT A BAD QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT YOU SALE......the end result is that i have spent Rs . 18999/- to use a stuff which is repaired twice in one week.

Along with that a had buy a bean bag(lazy bag tan brown/ code[protected] on the same day (22/10/2011) but the same torn on 23/10/2011, i visited to the store after Diwali day as a humanity basis. and told them the situation but i got the answer from floor manager that " you should have came on same day then only i could have replaced the product but now i can not help you" . after requesting him he clicked a photos of the damaged bag and said he will look into the matter but after that there was no correspondence done from there end I gave a call to know the status that time Ms Mangla picked up the phone (PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FLOOR MANAGER DIDN'T EVEN SHOW ANY COURTESY TO COME ON PHONE)and promised that you came tomorrow you will get replacement for the product and on my visit I was told that the the will get it repaired and the statement of replacement was a mistake. which means you call customer giving false promises and then CHEAT them.

WHAT A FURNITURE MALL HOME TOWN IS YOU SELL DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS THEN GET IT REPAIRED TWICE AND WANT THE CUSTOMER TO USE REPAIRED STUFF.

I HAVE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE BY SELECTING THE HOME TOWN TO BUY MY
      FURNITURE

I have purchased the products from BIG BAZAAR,at Netaji Subhash Place on 16.10.2011 and there was an offer going on if you purchase the goods worth 5000 and above, you will get JAIPAN STEAM IRON worth Rs 799 for Rs 199. But the store at Netaji Subhash Place doesnt have sufficient stock of it and they promised us that they will arrange the same in a week's time and we will receive a call as well but till date I have not received any call. Also I called, the executive KAPIL PANDAY, phone # [protected] on 25.10.2011 and he said they are still running out of stock.

I would request you to take an action against these departmental stores as they are misguiding the customer doing false promises. If they don't have enough stock they should not advertise the same.

Also I would request to arrange a call back for me at [protected] to let me know when can I collect the gift I am entitled to.

        Regards

I AM REGULARLY SHOPPING WITH BIG BAZAR 10 ACRE MALL AHMEDABAD SINCE INCEPTION OF BIG BAZAR 10 ACRE MALL AHMEDABAD. I AM SENDING MY FEED BACKS , MISS HAPPENINGS , BILLING ERRORS ETC REGULARLY TO YOU.

TODAY I HAD BEEN TO BIG BAZAR 10 ACRE MALL AHMEDBAD FOR SHOPPING. I HAVE PAID MY BILLS BY HDFC CREDIT CARD AT CASH COUNTER ON THE FIRST FLOOR AT ABOUT 6 PM. THE PERSON ON THE CASH COLLECTION COUNTER WAS MS. BINA. I PAID MY BILLS AND FORGOT TO COLLECT MY CREDIT CARD. AFTER I REACHED MY HOME I GOT PHONE CALL FROM HDFC CARD DIVISION THAT SOME BODY IS USING MY CARD( TIME 7-17 & 7-37 PM). SO I PASSED INSTRUCTION FOR BLOCKING THE CARD USAGE. AND RUSHED TO BIG BAZAR. AND REPORTED THE EPISODE TO MR. IMANUAL CRISTIAN( CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER?)

YOUR CASHIER MS. BINA USED MY CARD FOR Rs.1000 AND Rs.2500 CASH PAYMENT. SHE COLLECTED CASH FROM SOME TWO CUSTOMES & USED MY CARD FOR THEIR PAYMENT AND KEPT CASH WITH HER.

I WAS SURE THAT MISUSE WAS DONE BY THE CASHIER WHERE I PAID MY BILLS & FORGOT TO COLLECT THE CARD. THERE IS A SCHEME THAT MORE THAN Rs.1000 SPENDER IS GETTING A GIFT COUPEN FOR RS 250/- AND CUSTOMER HAS TO REGISTER THEIR NAME & PHONE NO TO GET THE GIFT COUPON. SO I INSISTED TO CHECK THE REGISTER AND GOT BOTH THE CUSATOMERS' PHONE NO AND BILL DETAILS SO I RANG UP ONE OF THE CUSTOMER AND ASKED HER WHETHER SHE PAID THE BILL BY CASH OR CR CARD? SHE REPLIED THAT SHE PAID CASH 2500/- AND THE SAME BILL WAS SHOWN IN YOUT RECORD THAT IT WAS PAID BY CREDIT CARD. THIS COMMUNICATION WAS ON MY LOUDOPHONE SO MR. IMANUAL CRISTIAN HEARD THE SAME AND ASSURED ME THAT I WILL GET MY MONEY BACK & PERSON ATTEMTED FRAUD WILL BE HANDED OVER TO ME FOR FURTHER POLICE COMPLAINT NEXT DAY MORNING. BUT DUE TO PROMPT ACTION BY HDFC & YOUR MR. IMANUAL CRISTIAN'S IMMEDIATE ACTION I GOT MY MONEY BACK & CARD ALSO. FURTHER I WISH THAT YOUR STAFF IS TRAINED TO KEEP THE VALUABLES OF CUSTOMERS IN CASE THEY FORGET.

MY EXPERIENCE IN "DHALGARWAD-AHMEABAD"( LOCAL CLOTH MARKET LIKE CHANDNI CHOWK DELHI) IS THAT EVEN IF WE FORGET WALLET-PURSE FULL OF CASH YOU GET IT BCAK INTACT. YOURS IS THE BIGGEST CORPORATE RETAIL MARKET- WE HOPE YOU TEACH THIS LOYALTY TO ALL YOUR STAFF MEMBERS.

I had purchased a Sunglass from the Bigbazar Kolkata, on 12th april, 2011 with a 12months warranty for any shorts of defect , including manufacturing defects . In the month of june when I had started to use that product one day I had noticed that the handle of that particular sunglass had fall down on the road from my face . Though I was not in the city on that time , I could not return back to store. In the month of October when I had returned back to the store the orgarnisation such as bigbazar and their staff who had sold me the product , behaved with me such a way and tried to prove that I had broken that product and went to replace and also behaved with me in a very bad manner except the Deparment Manager Mens .
Now they had asked me to pay less than 500/- to repair that product where as the product is still within the warranty period .
Please take the necessary action , and help me in this regards .
I hope I can get the justice from the consumer forum.

BIG BAZAAR, AMEERPET/ KORYO (Model KEC 181N)
AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC rice COOKER WITH TWO YEARS WARRANTY

I booked in advance a load of furniture, electronic and electric items and kitchen ware from BIG BAZAAR, Ameerpet on 30/10/2010 for my new establishment. I paid for things on[protected] and took physical delivery of things on 4th December 2010.
The above cited product KORYO electric Cooker failed to cook rice on the very first attempt and when contacted BIG BAZAAR, Ameerpet, they advised me to take the product to KORYO service centre situated in Mahaveer Chambers, West Marredpally.
One fine morning, I took the product to the service centre and the relative mechanic came to service centre at 2 pm and found wrong with lid mechanism and after doing some thing, he informed that it would be ok and asked to take it back.
After coming home, I tried once again to cook rice but invain. This time the rice was cooked but burnt. I informed the Service centre to send its’ mechanic. They asked me to bring the cooker to the centre again.
Having paid high price for the product and spent Rs.187/- for auto for taking the cooker after first trial of cooking, I decided not waste further money on this.
So, I request BIG BAZAAR, Ameerpet to refund the amount or replace the product forthwith.

I would like to state that - i have purchased 9 qty of jeans of DJ & C Brand (Denim) and many other grocery from your big bazar Chennai - Royapuram branch on 15th august 2011, were after a week i had length alteration of my jeans in big bazar tailoring room. alteration was done fine and got jeans back. on 1st sept 2011 i weared my jeans in home after wearing for 6 hour, i have noticed my pant is little damage near at back side of wallet pocket. after noticing that i went to big bazar (CH - Royapuram branch) on 4th september 2011 at 4:00 PM for Repair or Replacement of damage jeans pant.

I went to customer desk with my query. were in a desk a customer agent called a person from a mens department, Immediate a person came from mens department and checked my damage jeans pant, After checking pant instead of solution on my pant
He started asking a question to me stating that this pant is damage because of wash, -
Were i have told him clearly that this pant i weared only for 6 hour from purchase and i didnt washed the jeans.

any how this person was not taking to my point. and keep on questioning that this pant is damage because of wash only.

And then this person was not able to give solution, so he called his team leader, which he leads to mens department

The Team leader also checked my pant, after checking to my damage pant, he started questioning that this pant was damage because of Iron nails.

As the same i told mens department TL, This pant is not damage any kind iron nail (or) Wash,
And even this TL not taking to my point,

Were this TL is tell me to produce a proof stating that is not Damaged through Iron nail.
Finally your royapuram branch Team leader is replying me... .. I WILL NOT REPAIR (OR) REPLACE YOUR JEANS...DO ANY THING YOU WANT....
This kind of question will really frustrate to any customer if you ask such kind of question and rude reply to your customer.

AS YOU COMPANY SAY - WE GUARANTEE THE QUALITY AND GENUINENESS OF THE PRODUCT SOLD AT OUR STORES.

I believe each customer is valuable for all

Infact after such a kind of bad service given, i have decided i and my family and friends ll never turn to your any stores after such a bad service.

This is a chor bazaari, being done at Big Bazaar.Very Shameful.

                        Dear Editor:

Through this letter, I want to draw the attention of the authorities concerned.I am writing this letter in response to a shocking incident that took place yesterday[protected].Like always I had visited Big Bazaar located at Kalyani nagar pune.I had shopped for two 5kg bag of rice and two 1 litre pouches of oil.At the cash counter I was told that I wont be allowed to exit the building if I didn't buy 3 plastic bags ( 1 for the pouches of oil and 2 for the bags of rice which already had cloth handles on them). This was very shocking because not only the counter attendant, but also the supervisor was adamant. It is my understanding that the Government has decided to charge consumers for plastic bags so as to discourage them from using them. What Big bazaar is doing is clearly encouraging or rather FORCING consumers to use plastic bags!I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one with a complaint of this nature.I've tried getting in touch with the consumer court about the same but in vain.I would like to make this SCAM public and put and end to it.

                        thank you,
                        Timothy Gorde

I bought a bed-mattress from Big Bazaar in Vashi on June 12, 2011. Just in 2 weeks o[censored]sage, the mattress started sagging. It is very bad, I am not able to sleep properly. I called Big Bazaar many times, they assured me that they will replace it with a new & better product. But, so far, for more than 3 months, they have not acted.

I REALY DON’T KNOW WHETHER SOMEBODY IN YOUR COMPANY WILL CHECK THIS COMPALIN OR NOT , BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE PEOPLE WILL COME TO KNOW THAT “ BIG BAZAAR CHEATS CUSTOMERS”

Today[protected], 9.30pm) I have bought a fortune musterd oil and a 'chanachur' from Big Bazar, Burdwan with sum value of Rs 149. when I came to cash counter for payment, the attendant boy say to take the bag from Big Bazar to carry the goods, but I say that I have a bag which was kept in the outside counter of Big Bazar. the attendant boy refused to give me the goods without bag (that is with Big Bazar hologram and worth rs 2), and I have to live the Bazar without the goods.

Now I have the question 'why the customer have to take the bag forcefully with add of Big Bazar and pay for it?' But it is rule that the add agency should pay for their add. when asked to the attendant boy about this matter they said about the guideline of the MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONT. If YOU are so conscious about the environment, you should use jute or such bio-degradable products despite of poly thins. if you are really honest then sell the poly thin bags without logo of Big bazar and dont force the customers to carry your adds and pay for it by themselves. Mind it, it is a offence in favour of Consumer forum, if this incident happens further we have to take some judicial steps, and that will not be healthy for the good will of your company.

so stop ceating, stop begger like behavior and be honest to yourself as well as to the customers.
please support me, it is a common problem
                            i agree with him .
I live in Burdwan and a regular shopper at big bazaar. They keep having these so called lucky draw contests and they kind of force you into filling up the contest forms.it so happened that they had given me a call saying that I had won a contest and that I had to collect it all the way from durgapur.when I live in burdwan and shop at Burdwan why am supposed to collect my gifts from durgapur?According to the counterfoil of the contest form which I have with me, it is clearly stated that I can collect the gifts along with my spouse/family member.but shockingly the customer care people told me that I can get the gifts only if my spouse is with me otherwise I will not be given the gifts.isn't this unfair? This shows that all these contests are bogus and they never intend to give us our gifts.

                              Hi,

This is Atul Kulkarni. I stay in Ex-Servicemen Housing Society, Plot No. 19, Paud Road, Pune. I booked a Dreamline Mattress on 25th of September 2011. It was Sunday. The mattress was delivered on Yesterday(Tuesday) evening at around 0630 as scheduled. It was only my mother at home at that time. She could not pay much attention to the transport guy. The transport guy left the mattress in the hall and left the house with the my mother's signature. When I reached home at around 8, I saw that the mattress was defective (It was the case of torn cloth). It was about 2 inches. The mattress has not been moved anywhere from where it was kept by transport guy. Its still there. Well it was something that I could live with. But why should I when I paid 6000 for a brand new mattress that was delivered just an hour before. I immediately called up the customer care. They were not in a position to respond immediately as the shop was shutting down according to them and the Home Town manager was not arround it seemed. But they give me a hope of replacment. I kept trying today morning; but their guys were not around according to them. Later in the afternoon I got a call from them saying that this cannot be replaced as I did not check up when the mattress was delivered.

To justify my side, I have bought so many items from Big Bazaar and from Home Town so far. TV Unit, Show Items, Cupboards, DVD Player, Food Items, Clothes, Chairs, Stools. They could check up my history. I have never complained about anything so far. If I am complaining this time I believe Home town should take it genuinly and do the replacement. They should not let me regret the shoppings that I have done so far. I am shocked to see such a poor customer service. Even if it was my first shopping at Home Town/Big Bazaar I would not have expected this kind of service.

The only thing I could do now is go to Consumer Court, Poilce and express my helplessness and torture myself a bit more. I will discuss this with my closed ones and move on. With so much of shopping that I do and that i have done at these shopping malls, I believe 6000 is not a big amount and I can take this an experience. But I will make sure I will make more people aware of this kind of service from Home Town.

I was planning to buy a water heater, a LCD TV, a Fridge, Washing machine from Big Bazaar in the coming weekends for my new home. But probably you should guess that I might change my plans for sure.

                              Thanks,
                              Atul

                              Dear Priya,

Better late than never. My mattress finally got replaced yesterday. The new mattress is in a good condition and I am really happy the way Home Town handled this issue later.

                              Thanks,
                              Atul
                              Hi Atul,
That's nice your mattress is replaced.
Though I have visited Home town this weekend for furniture for my New Row House, I have somewhat bitter and good experience with Home town.
Good point is the attitude and good support of Home town Sales persons and manager, specially Ms.Komal and Mr.Kuldeep, really co-operated for extending vouchure scheme till last moment( closing of mall), but I could not get the furniture due to very rigid and non-supporting finance company Future group engaged by Home town. After finalising furnitures, it was surprised to hear that scheme could not be covered for NRIs.
That was funny part as other finance companies are trying to attract NRIs for more business and this company is parting away such customers. I told them I have two permanent flat and row house financed by HDFC, my family lives here permanently, but they did not show any response.
I dont know is it any policy matter, but this way some one loose business, some one lose oportunities. May be...

                              regards,
                              shyam

I had been to the Big Bazaar store in Chennai on Pondy Bazaar at 1.40 PM (IST) and picked up some Dove Soap super saver pack of 3 (2 units) and a Gillete Shaving razor pack of five. The guy at the sales counter made the bill amounting to around Rs.350. I had produced a 1000 Rupee note to him and he said he had no change and went around all the counters asking for change. Finally he turned down the sale telling that i had to come another time.

If the store did not have change, the customers had to be intimated even before they entered the store, so that they need not step in. Otherwise there need to be signboards placed indicating the store had run out of money.

Please make arrangements for the same in future so as to avoid inconvenience to the public.

I have purchased a sofa worth rupees 50,000/- in January at Ishyana mall ([protected]).
The problem started started from March only, stitching at two places was coming out, I called home town people and they repaired it. Again happened in September, called up them and they did the same. The stitching quality was too poor, was too too poor.
But now Stitching has come out at several places, approx at 6 7 places, few snaps are attached.
Now, I lodged complaint again and again they are ready to stitch again.
But now, If I have paid Rs 50,000/- for a sofa, why should I stitch again and again and that too with poor unqualified people.
Your people are not ready to accept your fault at all, its your fault that you have delivered a poor quality product to me.
why should lodged a complaint with court as you have cheated me on quality?
I can consider problem at one or two places, but it's coming everywhere now and that too within 9 months, what I am suppose to do when the warranty period will get over.

                                    Shocking behaviour!!!
Hi, I am a resident of Pune and recently went for shopping to Big Bazaar, Aundh branch. On my way out of th e store, I found that my bike was damaged badly right in the store parking. I asked the guard around but he said he was out on tea break. I asked for any responsible person I can talk to. They took me to the store manager who was sitting with a bunch of other guys in the parking. I complained that how can a customer shop tension free if he is going to find his vehicle damaged on return? The store manager was tore opened the foil cover of his coffee cup and started licking it when I was talking to him. I said please atleast look at me when I am talking to you, is this the way to behave to a customer? On this he started abusing me and one of them pushed me and all of them started hurling profanities saying that I was spoiling their break!!
I did not fight any further as they looked really ready to fight. I returned home, appalled at this maltreatment.

In partial modification of my previous email sent to you today on 12:10, please read the amount of dinner set is 1600/- imstead of rs-20000/- and all other message will be remain the same.
I too bought a La Opala Dinner set from Big Bazar, West Gate Mall, Rajouri, New Delhi just 3 months back in October 2013, only to find out that none of the pieces in the set are microwave safe, In fact they simply can’t stand hot food. Plates are cracking in two parts by themselves, bowls chipping and cracking if we put any curry in them. Big Bazar had exchanged one plate for me initially but now I can’t find the bill anymore, as these bills fade off. I want to get rid of this set & file a complaint against Big Bazar & La Opala, whichever is responsible.

                                        Hello There,
I had a run in at your Vishrantwadi, Pune Big Bazaar store on the 19th of September 2011. After making my purchases proceeded to checkout, that’s when I am told either buy plastic bags or get my own. I told the gentleman that I did not intend to buy plastic bags – I would pay for my purchases and cart out the items I purchased to my car. They wouldn’t allow me to do that.
I then called for the manager. The operation manager Mr. Anbu Perumal, tells me that it is Big Bazaar policy that either buy their plastic bags or get my own, and he said that it was clearly mentioned in the store. Agreed that was mentioned – but nowhere was it mentioned that I had to carry out items in plastic bags – he claimed that was Big Bazaar policy. Unfortunately this is not a written policy.
This is where I differ with Big Bazaar – not issuing plastic bags – good idea from an environment standpoint – but then offering, sorry forcing the sale of the same bags and converting it into a revenue stream – BAD IDEA. If you are so concerned about the environment – the bags you sell have to be biodegradable – they are not. So what purpose does it serve when you sell the same plastic bags that you want to take away from the environment?
Other stores say a D-Mart or a Star Bazaar also follow the same sale of plastic bag rule. They however allow you to cart out your purchased items. Today I made a purchase of roughly Rs. 3000 plus. So roughly in a year would buy around Rs. 40000 (rounding it off) – that’s revenue lost for Big Bazaar, as I will rather buy at D-Mart. May not make a dent to your bottom-line – but eventually others might feel the same and start moving away from you guys – hopefully then you will wake up and repeal your farcical policies made only to supplement your revenue stream.
