      This is a new innovative way of luring customers. Cleartrip advertises 50% off on base fare for air tickets booked through ICICI Bank Credit/Debit card.
      As you would go ahead and book the ticket, the last payment page will hang. Soon, you would get a call from Cleartrip agent, that there is system problem and he can help you with phone booking. The price he will be quoting will be slightly higher than the one available online. I checked the flights 3/4 days later and they are still not changed online. However, he will confirm that the tickets in that price are not available and hence, the system can't clear your payment. You obviously would proceed with phone booking still thinking that you would atleast have 50% off on base fare, will get some respite.
      Little would you know that this is not applicable for phone bookings.
      i'm unaware if other online booking agents like Yatra, Ezeego1, who are also advertising such schemes (buy 1 get 1 or get 2 free) also, have such gimmicks. But this certainly is a classic one.

        I have been a victim of Cleartrip's fraud website that sources its income illegally by sucking funds out of customers without even issuing them a ticket.
        On 15th Dec,2010, I had attempted to book a ticket from Mumbai to Delhi for 17th Dec 2010 by Go Air flying at 9:45 AM. After putting in all my card details, A window appeared that said "Oops your payment failed. Dont worry you havent been charged"
        However, after checking my bank statement i discovered that I have been charged Rs 5281 for the same. The money has gone to "Cleartrip Travel" (Transaction ID[protected]
        I also called your call center, The woman who answered refused to acknowledge that any money had been received by you.
        Cleartrip needs to check that they have in fact taken that money and credit the entire sum back to me.

        Hi,

        I agree with you. It looks like Cleartrip's booking system has major glitches in it. I too have been charged Rs. 32958 due to a failed transaction. The customer service guys on the phone keep convincing me that the refund has been processed and it will reflect in 3 working days. This has been going on for more than 3 weeks now. Yesterday I put my complaint on this website under the subject "Money charged to credit card but neither a ticket nor trip id issued by Cleartrip". If I don't hear from cleartrip within couple of days, then I am considering filing a complaint with CORE Center, website supported by Ministry of Consumer Affairs.

        What I would do in your case is, get the payment details from card provider like Master, Visa, etc. These are the guys that handle the payment to cleartrip. If cleartrip got paid from your account, then they will have a record of it. Get the details and take it up with Cleartrip.

          Hi,

          On 25th November, 2010 I called up Cleartrip phone booking line and initiated the process to book a round trip ticket for 2 adults, Bangalore to Sharjah. The phone booking executive took the booking request and directed me to the phone payment system were Rs. 32958 was charged to me credit card. My unfortunate experience with cleartrip starts at this point. After the credit card was charged, the phone booking executive gets on the line and informs me that the ticket isn't available and he has initiated a refund process. The funny thing is that no trip id was generated nor any communication from cleartrip about the transaction. The credit card statement is the only evidence that cleartrip has charged me for a ticket that doesn't exist. The representative told me that a refund will be reflected in my credit card statement in 5 working days. I took his statement at face value and waited for 5 working days. Seeing no refund I called cleartrip again and it too a huge effort to explain another executive what had happened. Since then it has been 3 weeks and every time I call cleatrip, the response is "We have initiated refund process and you will get it in 3 days".

          I am beginning to loose trust in Cleartrip, primarily because the phone executive gives misleading information and most importantly they don't send an email on such failed (goofed-up) transactions. Even emails to customer service hasn't yielded any response. Please let me know, how I can draw Cleartrip's attention to this matter. I question that I want to ask Cleartrip is, "Has a refund process truly been initiated or am I being taken for a ride?". I have been a cleartrip customer for nearly 2 years and every experience has been pleasant except this one. I held the company at high esteem, but seems like they are forcing me to change my opinion about them.

          Within 24 hrs of posting the complaint on this website I got a call from cleartrip. In fact there were 6 missed calls from the same number while I was in a meeting. Finally, Edwin the floor manager had a chat with me and assured me that he has personally looked into the matter. He advised me to expect the refund with 3-4 working days.

          I appreciate cleartrip/Edwin reaching out to me, and would really be delighted if they the refund happens within 3-4 working days.

          Hi,

          I would like to thank Cleartrip for keeping their end of the commitment of refunding the amount in 3-4 days. I can now see the amount credited into my credit card. Even though the initial days during the refund process was rough due to misleading information from phone booking executives, I think Cleartrip acted quickly to fix the issue. I would like to thank phone booking executive Tushar Patil and floor manager Edwin for a speedy resolution.

          I believe systems aren't flawless, but a timely resolution is always appreciated by customers. I shall be looking forward to using Cleartrip.com for planning my next air travel.

            i had make a booking in 30th november for a hotel (hotel wooldland deluxe,new delhi)at delhi trip id is [protected] through cleartrip.com. while checking in the hotel the person in the counter says me that i'll not be allowed to check in coz i was with my female friend. they said me its a government policy. whole night i wasted searching hotel. now when i called cleartrip customer care the person says me that its COMMON government policy that for couple customer will have to produce MARRIAGE Certificate. i am just asking you when this is a rule then why cleartrip havent mentioned this in their voucher, when you write that photo id proof is needed, address proof is needed then why you dint mention that marriage certificate is needed in case of couple. who will tell me this policy. does it come in my dream or it is sticked out in markets or i need to do a course for that to know all the rules and policy.
            why cleartrip is giving me a stupid excuse. i dont know how you people do this to customer. arent you concerned about your reputation. i'll advertise this in all the consumer forum not to avail this website for booking as they want customer to know the policy of their own

                Not issuing cashback

                This is one of those horrible experiences where you seem to go for a offer but fall for a trap. I had booked 4 nights hotel in Gwalior Trip ID[protected]. I had used the PAYHALF offer which mentioned that I would get 40% cashback i.e Rs. 1600/- since I had booked for 4 nights. The refund was promised within 2 weeks maximum. Its been 5 weeks now and after continuous calls the only reply I get is it has been sent for processing. I have checked with my bank and no refund is in process. cleartrip clearly doesnt have a consumer addressal system since they dont have any reference number generation facility for complaints and redressals. I have used other travel portals but have not faced any problem with them yet.

                I hope someone from their end looks into it and processes my refund so that further image is not tarnished. You might have lost a customer already. Try not losing more by acting as promised. Please dont fall for these cashback gimmicks from cleartrip, the refund seems to keep you waiting forever.

                Before some moment I was going to book a Hotel in Shillong through your website. But, I get little confusion regarding your PAYHALF scheme. Thats why I was searching for some review. But, seeing this types of complaints I get confused, and decide not to book through Cleartrip. I have one question to you -

                If you really want to give the discount (10%, 20%, ... 50% or whatever) on PAYHALF scheme, then why you receive the full payment at the time of booking? If you get the discounted amount at the time of booking, then customer may not face this type of problem regarding money refund.

                  Cleartrip has charged me for air ticket which they have not issued to me. My repeated requests to them by mail and other means have not yielded in any results, not even in a reply. I know it was my mistake that i trusted this company to deal online. Please help me to get my money back.

                    Issue:

                    My trip Id [protected] [Hotel stay at CITITEL, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, between 15 - 17 Oct, 2010]
                    covers a complimentary Airport pickup from Hyderabad airport.
                    The hotel cab was there at the Airport premises only between the following timings: 12:37 pm to 12:50 pm on 15-Oct-2010., which was just 13 mins. duration and hence the charge incurred as per the airport tariff of Rs. 80/- which was paid from my own expenses, though my Trip covers complimentary airport pickup, as per the Trip inclusions from the hotel as agreed between Cleartrip and CITITEL Hotel.

                    I had already sent 5 to 6 mails on this issue to Customer support, with the copy of Airport parking slip to substantiate this reason.

                    This proof was also requested by Cleartrip Customer support team to negate my issue with the Hotel - CITITEL, Hyd/bad, since they were refusing to bear this expense paid out from my pocket,

                    [though initially it was agreed by them after consulation with Cleartrip, on bearing the same at their end, during my Check-out time on 17th OCt, 2010.]
                    The person name was Shameer, who spoke from the hotel to Cleartrip and got the confirmation saying that the hotel will reverse this amount when I Checkout on 17th October. But on that day this person was absent and his mobile to reach was also switched off]


                    This issue was then reported by me during the last 2 weeks with Cleartrip team - Mangesh & Swami, and also to another lady - Ms. Mary.


                    I requested them to expedite the same based on the proof submitted by myself and resolve my issue.

                    Note: I would like to bring to your notice the small piece of information on Airport parking tariffs applicable at Rajiv Gandhi - Hyderabad Int'l airport as on date.


                    For 4 wheeler (Commercial Vehicles)

                    - Rs.80/- for first half-an-hour
                    Rs.120/- for first half-an-hour to 1 hour
                    Rs.150/- for first 1 hour to 2 hours
                    Rs.50/- for each subsequent hour
                    Rs.500/- for every 24 hours

                    This will tell you that my parking charge of Rs. 80/- was only for the initial 30 hour of time.


                    I have given below Airport's official link also which will guide your reference in this issue.

                    Today, they simply said its not possible to reverse this amount. They are favoring the hotel giving false reasons as that my flight was delayed by a Hour and also I kept the hotel cab waiting at the airport for more than 1 hour.

                    This is all utter fraud and cheating by Cleartrip and the CITITEL hotel. I have given enough proof to them, but still they are not helping my issue to be resolved.

                      I booked a ticket through the company from India to singapore and the same was paid online by net banking.
                      I cancelled the ticket on 6/09/2009. During the cancellation the company told me that they will take 5 to 6 days in processing refund. when I contacted them after 15 days of cancellation they said this process take 40 to 45 days.
                      today it is 52 days already passed no refund received when contacted online it is the answer that it will happen like this only.
                      Is there any authority available who can look into these kind of matter and penalise the companies doing this fraudulant practice.

                          HI had made a hotel booking with cleartrip.
                          As per the cancelation policy,they mentioned as checkin, they didnt mentioned whether its checkin date or check in time.
                          When iam asking for explanation they are not giving proper responses, and telling that no refund will be available??

                          can you please take up the matter and give me proper solution??



                          Kindly note that as per the hotels Specific rules for Executive Room If you cancel within 72 hours before checkin, you will incur 100.0% of your total stay.Thus as per your cancellation time and date , your cancellation charge is full retention i.e No Refund .

                            I booked a ticket from Delhi to Mumbai with spice jet through Cleartrip.com using free coupon worth Rs.495/- issued by cleartrip, for travel on 29th August. However I decided to travel with my wife on 19th September, and therefore not finding an option to reschedule, I immediately cancelled the ticket and re-booked for 19th Sept 2010. I append text of the chain of emails exchanged with claertrip below, which is self explanatory.

An amount of Rs.2840 is not a very big amount (to which you appear to be latching on so desperately), but your unfair dealing puts me off.
                            In case you donot play fair by refunding the amount, please note that I will never use your services again.

                            I Agree with Complaint.

                            1. When Rule says all tickets are refundable as Per DGCA how a Travel agent will Hold My money which he charged me for Airport Tax + Fuel surcharge +Passenger service fee + Ticket booking fee.
                            So company Should Return at least Airport Tax + Fuel surcharge +Passenger service fee .
                            2. This clear violation of rule where booked ticket mean you have to travel.
                            3. This is not service it is punishmnet .
                            4. Customer is loosing RS 2500 at least per ticket .

                              I Booked tickets from clear trip site. My transaction was failed while booking tickets but the amount was deducted from my account.

                              I am calling to clear trip from past 3 months and called around 24 times (STD) they did not responded as of now and the amount was not refunded.

                              Hi successfull refund
                              Like you people even i had booked tickets using cleartrip, my booking went unsuccessful but amount worth 70, 000 got debited from my account as i used netbanking to pay last week, i called up cleartrip Customer care to refund back the amount, they told that the entire money would be refunded so i waited, within 2-3 working days i got a mail and a message stating that my 'refund has been processed and would reflect in account within 5- 14 working days depending upon the bank, i got my money refunded within 3 -4 working days from the day i got the refund processed mail & message, so need not have to worry, all you need to do is keep your Trip Id handy and in touch with them, this is a toll free number for clear trip CC [protected] within india, so you need not have to get on to spend on your STD everytime, felt this would be useful as many are in the nightmare and sceptical of loosing there money.

                                Hi,

                                I had booked DELHI-->CAIRO return flight by Oman Air through ClearTrip for 30Nov-10Dec. To my horror, just after 3-4days of booking the flight, I found out that the said flight does not exist because the connecting flight schedule had been changed such that before my arrival at Muscat, the connecting flight to Cairo would have already left.

                                Neither ClearTrip nor the airline bothered to inform me of this change and still on Cleartrip site I find the said flights although on all other travel sites as well as Oman air website, such flights do not exist.

                                Now, after contacting them so many times, I'm still not getting any satisfactory action from them. The wait time on the phone is also horrendously long! ClearTrip wanted me to fly on 29th Nov, which is impossible for me due to some personal reasons. No flights are available on any nearby dates following 30Nov.

                                I asked them that they should change my flight carrier and I was willing to travel on 30Nov, or 1,2 Dec(whichever available) but Cleatrip said that changing the flight carrier was not possible. When I asked them for a solution, they had no answer and on asking for a full refund they said that the airline as well as Cleartrip would charge a cancellation fee 0f(1000/- & 500/-) respectively per passanger apart from the 300/- per passanger RAF charged by the airline. I tried to explain to them that it was not I who was asking for a cancellation. It was Cleartrip who was not able to provide me a solution. Evertime they would ask me to talk to the airline. Why should I talk to the airline when I have booked the tickets through Cleartrip? It is their responsibility to talk with the airlines, not mine. And I don't intend to pay any cancellation charges when it is not I who is asking for a cancellation. They should do the total refund because wrong information is being provided on their website and I booked the tickets as per the options provided to me on the website. My only fault seems to be that I booked the flight through ClearTrip & OmanAir, both of which have behaved grossly irresponsibly. This is causing me deep anguish and inconvenience and speaks very low about both Cleartrip & OmanAir, and I feel cheated.

                                I'm undertaking this travel for leisure with my family (which includes a 5yr child & a 1yr infant) and not for unwarranted discomfort or inconvenience.

                                A early action is deeply solicited or else I will be forced to take further action.

                                  I cancelled my ticket from Kolkatta to Mumbai on Jun 12, 2010 .
                                  I got the following reply from cleartrip:

                                  3 months are over still i have not got the money.Every time they will tell we are looking into the issue.
                                  I tried reaching out to cleartrip via there customer forum (www.cleartrip.com), but i did not getting any reply.
                                  I tried calling them on phone, and i spoke to them for more than 30 min ,but they were not able to give a satisfactory answer..

                                  Can you please update me, why it is taking so long to receive the cash back.

                                    I am writing this to inform ALL PAST/PRESENT/FUTURE CUSTOMERS of Cleartrip.com. Don't fall for their baits of offering Cash Back,Discounts or Gift vouchers since they are all bogus and fraudulent. Its high time somebody takes action and they are shown the door out of the on line business. Take my eg. even though it is a small refund issue they are not bothered to give it in spite of my various calls to their CC, emails to their various mail ID,s.They are so so shameless and thick skinned. God alone knows how many people have fallen prey to their cheap gimmicks and unethical business tactics. My story is that I fell prey to their Cash Back offer of Rs.50 only and to check how they handle it I booked a ticket following all their T/C through their transaction ID No. [protected] dated 03 Aug 2010. Till date I am left sulking. So people take care and be careful I have learned my lesson I don't want to pull them to court for a matter of 50 Rs. but somebody can take note of this fraud company

                                      The discount is applicable only to the Base Fare. Cleartrip has cleverly reduced the Base fare to Rs1 and increased the Fuel surcharge with the same amount. This is only for the alleged Offer period from 15 Sept to 30 Sept when you try to redeem the coupons.
                                      The SPICEJET site shows a base fare of Rs. 501 while CLEARTRIP has cleverly changed it to Rs.1 on their site.
                                      THIS IS ON THE OFFER DATES ONLY. THE DATES BEFORE AND AFTER SHOW THE RIGHT BASE FARES OF THE AIRLINE.

                                      This is for travel from Chennai to Mumbai and back on 28 sept and 30 Sept
                                      I have screenshots of
                                      !. a) Cleartrip fare breakup before the offer dates
                                      b) Cleartrip fare breakup during the offer dates
                                      c) Cleartrip fare breakup after the offer dates
                                      2. Spicejet fare breakup during the same offer dates when travel is required.

                                        I was trying to book an air ticket from Delhi to San Francisco for December 2010. Obviously, I went to every travel site and compared the rates. Surprisingly, every airline was offering a fare of around INR 56000 but Cleartrip alone was offering the same flight at INR 51211. I started booking the flight and eventually when I entered all my details, it said the flight is not available at that rate. The new rate that it showed was Rs. 55600+. I thought that really might be the same so I left the booking at that time. Some time later I returned to cleartrip and found the previous rate of Rs. 51211. I thought wow! I went ahead to book and again the same error message, flight rate has changed. I tried this same thing 10-15 times in 3 days and result was always the same.

                                        Therefore, here is what I think is cleartrip,s strategy. Show very low rates to the customers and lure them to your site. Then when they go for booking tell them that that rate is exhausted and show them the actual rate. There are very little chances that the customer will go to any other site if the rate is comparable and thus by duping the customer with false rates, they try to get business.
