We have a Dish TV connection at home in the name of Abishek Narayanan at
56C Rajagopalan Salai, Valasaravakkam, Chennai 600087 with the VC
[protected].

I bought a Dish TV itz cash card from the local agent (Omega enterprises,
Valasaravakkam) worth Rs.700 on Jan 22, 2010. The card bears a number S[protected]. While scratching to get the Account No and Password the number got damaged as the paper pealed off abruptly. Some of the numbers we could make out are "583393" in continuity, probably from the Account No.

I could not proceed any further with recharging as I could not make the account number and the password.

Despite my contacting helplines, customercare, local agent, Regional Manager of DishTV at Chennai, the problem is still unresolved. We are yet to get the benefit for spending Rs.700/- and we are punished for no fault of ours.

The agent not only refused to accept the card but also showed total
disrespect to our request for help in any other manner.

Our subscription felt due on 25 Jan 2010. Any way I recharged the subscription with Rs.300 through on line.

    Dish TV — Balance nil before date

    my vc no is [protected] i have paid 3000 Rs in january month.by this my renuale date is in October but in April Dishtv disconnect my connection/ i calls dishtv for this falt so many times/ but there is no recovery/ they sayes to me that "you have pay 3000 Rs but we don't know "rupay kaha chale gayee". since last one month my dish tv is disconnected/ i have complaned so many times in dish tv but there is no responce/
    I have complained to your local dealer at Ahmedabad on No.o79/66057304 regarding non working of out dish TV on 25.7.2009. Next day they checked the dish and informed that a part of the dish has been broken and said part is not available with them. They asked me to wait for a day. So many days have been passed but our connection is still out of order. Several times I have reminded them on Phone numbers079/66057304/079/66057302. Pl intimate them to start my service today.
    I have subscribe Dish TV on 27.5.09 for three month free service and paid Rs.2400 for it.
    My SAF No. is 6405256.

      -- Dish TV charges Rs. 20/- if re-charge is done after expiry of 1st subscription.
      -- Dish TV charges Rs. 40/- if a customer downgradrs his current package to a lower one, for example form Gold to Silver.

      Both the above amounts look small but Dish TV is making money at the expanse of customers. My prespective for both the above items:

      1> If I had a live subscription say for 3 months & then for some reason I do not want to continue it, this should be left to individual customer's choice to do so. It is a pre-paid system so the customer should have option of paying a certain amount & watch the Dish TV. When the user is not intereasted, he / she should have the freedome not to re-charge or re-charge when he / she wishes. DTH is a pay-per-use service & it should be pay-per-use. If Dish TV charges Rs 20/- as panelty for not re-charging on time, customer is paying money for something he / she will never watch any Dish TV contents.

      2> Rs. 40/- charged as downgrade charges is outrageous & completely against the basic principle of pay-per-use. It is possible that initially the customer started with maximum number of channels (platinum kind of package) & over a period of time realises that he / she is spending money for many channels that he / she never watches, then the customer should have liberty to switch to a scheem with lower number of channels (gold of silver kind of package). If Dish TV is charging Rs. 40/- as downgrade charges, this shows that Dish TV wants to stop customer from moving to a package with less number of channels, or atleast discouraging. This is against the customer's wish to do so. One more point here is, Dish TV is trying to make money as the customer will be paying less for a new package with less number of channels. This Rs. 40/- goes waste as customer will not see Dish TV contents for this amount. Again this against the basic pay-per-use fundamental. Does Dish TV gives a grace of Rs. 40/- is the customer upgrades from Silver to Gold or to Platinum package ? If no, then why charge this downgrade money ?

      Help me to take this up with the correct authority to address this for all DTH providers.

        Hi,

        I am using Dish TV (VC No. [protected]). I had recharged my account with Rs 600/- on 10-Dec-2009 from Dish TV dealer Dhareshwar Electronics, Subhanpura, Vadodara, Gujarat, in which Rs 500/- was given for Silver package for four months and Rs 100/- was for Colors channel. All these details were specified on the receipt, which have with me even today. I can produce it as and when required.

        But, to my surprise, my Dish TV connection got disconnected around 25-Jan-2010. On contacting Dish TV customer care, I was informed that Platinum package was activated on my last recharge, and hence, my account was disconnected. Also, I was advised by Dish TV customer care to send a scanned copy of the receipt given by the dealer to their customer care email id with my complaint, which I did.
        I contacted Dish TV customer care, as well as Dhareshwar Electronics with my complaint. It was very clear that the mistake was on Dhareshwar Electronics' side. But the response that I have got from the dealer has been pathetic. Initially, the dealer agreed to activate my account, but never did that. Every day I would contact him, he would give some or other excuse and say that it would be done tomorrow. But his tomorrow never came. I was being treated like it was my mistake and I was begging them for help. Even though the fault was clearly not on my side, I had to listen to awful words from him. My concern is that when I had paid for Silver package, why was Platinum package activated when it was unwanted?

        On the last call from Dish TV customer care, I was told that I should have informed Dish TV about improper recharge within 2/3 days of recharge. But, genuinely, I only realized it when my connection was disconnected and I contacted their customer care.

        As a part of Dish TV policy, they charge customers a penalty of Rs. 20/- if they fail to recharge their account on time, because it is customer's mistake if they do not recharge their account timely. They also charge customers with Rs. 40/- for downgrading packages. How can it be accepted that a higher package is forced upon me even though the receipt specifies a lower package details and the fault is clearly on their dealer's side?

        Expecting a helping hand from your side, to find a fair resolution.

          Sir,
          I ma a dish tv custemer since July 2005 and my VC NO-[protected]. Since than dish tv changed his set top box softwaer and many updates are coming and every time I have to visit the dealer for up date by paying Rs-250/- and it has become the routine task of dish tv. I am responsible for only hardware if it is damaged due to to any reason not for any software change as it the responsibility of dish tv.
          Now my set top box software is due for update and reply from dish tv is –“ please visit our service center for set to set update” dish tv service centre is 100 km away one side from my home,
          My request is that my software is to be upgraded through satelite as it was done earlier free of cost as it the duty of dish tvnot of a customer.

            Although I have rechaged my dish tv on 11.12.2010 at 8.00 pm which was the last day - due for recharge. However dish tv has been disconected since then.

              My VC No.[protected]. I made a online payment of Rs.250/- for recharge of my dish TV account on 14.10.2009 (8.38am). Actually it went like this-
              I opened the website www.dishtv.in
              I selected to make online payment.
              I selected to make the payment through normal ITZ cash card.
              Then there came four choice of Dish TV Gold Pack (Rs.250/- was the minimum option).
              I chose the Rs.250/- option and entered the account number and password for ITZ cash card.
              Rs.250/- was debited from my ITZ Cash card and I started waiting for SMS from dish TV.
              After waiting for more than 12hours I found that there was neither SMS from Dish TV nor the Dish TV gold pack service started working.
              Then I called Dish TV customer care, but they refused to help and said that they had not received the payment. The Dish TV customer care representative asked me to recharge again.
              Then I checked the ITZ cash card report and found that the payment was made to Sugal & Damani Utility Services (P) Ltd.
              I posted a complaint to Sugal & Damani Utility Services (P) Ltd for recharging Dish TV account, to ITZ cash card company to look into the matter and return my money and to dish TV service provider for rechecking the payment made. But no one is responding properly and no one is giving me any idea about the payment made.
              Waiting for help!

              Dish TV — No proper service BAD RESPONSE

              I have purchased a new dish TV STB bfore 15 days.
              they came to install it but found STB bad, then the replaced it in two days but again the STB was faulty, finally they set a new STB after a week, n now its been one week my DTH is installed but payed channels are nit active. I have purchased it in 4000/- for one year subscription. I called them several time and I have spent about 1000/- on phone(As i am in roaming) but the response I got was really bad and they told me several time to revert me back in half an hour but their half an hour is still not completed in 96Hrs.
              Finally I am deciding to refund my money back, so should I go for Consumer court and wht would be the right way for it.

              I paid 700 recharge free card on Dt 10-03-09 but after order for two movie on demand film the renewal date shifted from 10-05-09 to 28-04-09.As per your free recharge scheem movie on demand film are free up to Rs/540-

              I selected to make the payment through normal ITZ cash card.
              Then there came four choice of Dish TV Gold Pack (Rs.250/- was the minimum option).
              I chose the Rs.250/- option and entered the account number and password for ITZ cash card.
              Rs.250/- was debited from my ITZ Cash card and I started waiting for SMS from dish TV.
              After waiting for more than 12hours I found that there was neither SMS from Dish TV nor the Dish TV gold pack service started working.
              Then I called Dish TV customer care, but they refused to help and said that they had not received the payment. The Dish TV customer care representative asked me to recharge again.
              Then I checked the ITZ cash card report and found that the payment was made to Sugal & Damani Utility Services (P) Ltd.
              I posted a complaint to Sugal & Damani Utility Services (P) Ltd for recharging Dish TV account, to ITZ cash card company to look into the matter and return my money and to dish TV service provider for rechecking the payment made. But no one is responding properly and no one giving me any idea about the payment made.

              I had taken a DishTv connection in the month on january 31 2011.The installation charges were paid.The unit was installed on 2 of february and from that day till today that is 9 of june i am still waiting for the services to be activated.
              I have complained atleast 100 times at the customer care number.I have sent close too 10 mails but to no avail.
              Please suggest me a way to get a refund of my money paid.

              The dishtv service is very bad....i am really dissappointed.....i send an sms to that number 57575 and we get a reply saying they will get back to us and it NEVER happens....and the dish tv username is in the numerical form.....how do they expect us to remember that number?                 I (ramsingh) am subscriber of DishTV (VC number [protected]).
                My account showed Rs 250 outstanding in my DishTV account. We had not subscribed to DishTV in the said months of11-jun-2010 On calling up the customer care I was informed that I had subscribed to the services. On indicating to the customer care that I cant subscribe unless I pay my dues they had no answer. On my insistence a complaint with complain ID src-19/01/10-64207was registered. The executive also told me to go ahead with subscription for the current month and that the matter would be resolved within 24 hours. Following the conversation I recharged

                I had also posted the same complaint on DishTV's web page with complaint id .19/01/10-64207 On writing to them again after 2 days, I was sent a reply that my service was activated and there was no mention of the unduly charged Rs.500
                As a consumer I hold the right to subscribe or not to subscribe.

                  This is my Third mail through consumer complaint.
                  I have installed DISH TV connection at my home at Kalyankunj, Vadodara.
                  As my new (Original) setup box was not working (tuner problem), our local distributor replace it with old one until my new is working i.e. before 4 months. (07.08.2009, date of new setup box given to the distributor for repairing).

                  Now, I got back SETUP BOX purchased by me. But it is not in working condition as the VC number has been issued to some one – the reply received form SHIV SERVICE Alkapuri, Baroda. WE are using the setup box given on replacement.

                  I request you to Allot a NEW SETUP BOX with VC number as this case is going on for more than 6 months. Being one of the best channel the dish TV should do immediate action for further establishment. WE are not happy with service. I request you to look into this matter and do the needful urgently.

                  Please issue a NEW setup box with VC number as I paid for the setup box and take back the old one.

                    I live in Chennai. My dish VC [protected]. My payment fell due on 8 January. I paid on 4 by cheque and it was encashed on 6. Even after paying on time, the service was deactivated on 11. and still remains deactivated. Even after paying on time is this your kind of service. I think I made a bad buy.

                        My VC no is [protected] registered under my husband J Harish Kumar's name. I moved to Mumbai on the 28th Nov'09. It all started with me booking an appt for uninstalling my DTH as I was moving town. Till the last minute there was no response regarding the same. The person Amar whom i spoke on the phone to confirm he would be coming at the designated date n time. however on the day, he judt did not answer his phone n I had to call Dish Customer no. The technician came for the unistallation however couldnt remove the base from the dish n said it was ok not to take it n i would get another base when i re-install. Thats where the nighmare begun. After coming to Mumbai after several calls to DISH TV care's franchise, A-vision I finally got an appt for the same. I explained on the phone what the situation was n that I would need a new base as promised. The lady- Sakshi said she understood however i would need to pay 300 for the base.having not much choice I agreed. After numerous calls one Mr shiv came to my place n he explained i would need the grill patti, base n a new dish which would come upto 1100... It came as a shocker to me as I was first told it would not cost me anything but the re-installation charges.
                        A new connection costs 2000 n it seemed futile that i pay 1100. But since we had re-charged our a/c we had no choice but to agree to pay it. Another nightmare begun after this. we had to call n call n call for the technician to come for the promised appt. Calls to A-vision was absolutely useless. The unfriendly and callous attitude of the staff makes u feel so helpless. I actually had a near nervous breakdown shouting at them to get them do what was promised to me. The TL there actualy said he was supposed to come to your place but he had to send him to some other place as it was more important. I called Dish care n submittted my complaint and was told i would get am extension for the total no of days i was not able to use the services. Needless to say it has not been done. I dont want another nightmare to follow hence I dont want to call them for the same. The reason for sharing this is to make everyone aware the true side of DISH Service behind the rosy advertisements.

                        I advise please be ready for the nightmare when u install Dish.

                            I am having a dishtv connection having vc no [protected]. I had a gold card recharge with cnbc ala carte package which was valid upto 29.10.09. Since during my last recharge dishtv deducted a sum of rs 20/ as fine, I thought that I should recharge my account before the expiry ie 29.10.09. One mr Sushil was on the phone line. I asked him that if I want to top up my recharge with a rs 500 gold card where free ala carte of rs 100 was availble , whether I will get the extention from 30.10.09 onwards or validity of my early period will be deducted? I was told that I will get all the benifits which I will get if I recharge on 29.10.09. Then I gave him the recharge voucher details and told him to include the cnbc package from my free alacarte account. I was given the transaction no which is IGR 45059730. I was also told that my main package as well as the alacarte package had been activated. the alacarte package was activated from my free rechrge account. Thereafter I found from my dish tv space that validity of my package had been increased to 9.1.2010. When calculated I found this to be okay. however to my surprise during the month of december I found that validity of my package had been reduced to 25.12.09. I have made several calls to customercare of dishtv and their reply has never been satisfactory. There after I told them to give all the replies by e mail so that I have all the recorded replies. They in their last email have said that I had not activated my alacarte package on 14.10.09 when the main package was recharged. This is nothing but a bluff from their side. A consumer far away from dishtv office can not know what their representative have noted. I feel that their representative receive a part of the commission they save for dish tv frm the free ala carte by not noting down the correct information. in the email I was also informed that my initial package had expired on 23.10.09 where as validity of my package was upto 29.10.09. on 23.10.09 they activated my alacarte package and deducted that amount from my main package and not from the free alacarte which was available even on that day as per the company's policy. I just fail to understand why the company wants to cheat it's customer the way they have been doing. Kindly submit this complaint before an appropriate legal authority so that action can be taken against dishtv for cheating.

                            And for this kind act I shall ever remain grateful.

                                I recharged my Dish TV with Recgharge coupon of Rs Rs 700/- on 12 Nov 2009 & my Dish TV was recharged upto 10th Jan 2010.
                                But from 30th Dec 2009 you are sending messages that the Dish Tv Validity expires on 31st Dec 09.
                                I request you to look into this matter and reply to me with details the reason for changing my renual date from 10th Jan 2010 to 31st Dec 2009.Where as the message in my Dist TV expity is still 10th Jan 2010.

                                  Hellow Sir/Madam,

                                  My name is Abhijeet Dubey. I am living in Bangalore. I heard some good things about Dish TV from my friends, and I purchased Dish TV set up box. I registered my request for installation on 26 Feb 2009, when I asked that till when I will get this installed, they said it will take 24-48 hrs to process your request. After this call(which was made on 26 Feb 2009) I waited till 3rd March 2009, but I did not receive any call/confirmation from Dish TV. When I called them on 3rd March 2009 (I talked to Mr. Vishal, from Dish TV), they again said the same thing which they said earlier as it will take 24-48 hrs to process your request. Then again I waited till 7 March 2009. Again as I expected no calls/confirmation from Dish TV.

                                  Then I called on 7 March 2009, at around 2.30 PM, I talked to Mr. Ali. I explained him this matter in detail, Then he said he will arrrange a call for me from their technical team within 2 hrs. But now I am totally frusteted because when I call them, it takes 10-15 mins, each time and after waisting so much currency of callls, wasting so much of time also, till now their 2 hrs are not over.

                                  sir last night i was pay 500/- to recharge my dishtv at annual pack the man of dishtv custmer care card said me that your dishtv has been recharged but when i on my dishtv my dishtv was not recharged and error on my dish tv 101.CONDITIONAL ACCESS i waited for two days but my dish tv was not recharged and and my renewal date is 27/09/2009 which has expired plz take a action to dishtv custmer care card shop and plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz recharge my dishtv my VC NO.[protected] dishtv is a bad company and i copmplaint to you plz recharge my dish tv.I have recharge gold ITZ CASH card on dtd 02/11/2009 through SMS but it has not activated & also i am trying to yr customer care no it not processing it is continuosly disconnecting please activate my Dish otherwise help me out what further action should be taken to activate all yr dealer informed y contact to .

                                  I have applied for DishTv on dated 03/11/2012 through online payment but i have not received any call or reply from ur side. I had called customer care centre for processing but still my work is pending. I am not satisfied with costumer care call.

                                  Dishtv has raised the minimum amount for recharge to Rs.500. How could it do this.

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,
                                    I have Dish TV connection. I recharge my Dish TV account online from www.dishtv.in using netbanking due to some issue in website amount deducted from my account but not reflect on Dist Tv account on the same day. I have call there 5 - 10 times after that 3 day later my account recharged and it is after my recharge date. as i have pay before my recharge date even after they charge me grace period charges because they get money after recharge date due to there website related problem. Then again i have called there 5 -10 times but my grace charges not refunded.
                                    Due to these process of Recharge of amount 400 rs cost me approx 500rs as follows.

                                    Amount i have pay : 400 Rs.
                                    Called Customer Care Executive (15 times for 5min/call): 75-100 Rs (Approx).
                                    Grace period Charges: 20 Rs.
