This is regarding deffiency of service on part of DTDC in delivering a consignment as promised in their Service Level agreement. Details are in the mail trail that I sent to the DTDC head office. I can be contacted at [protected]@hsbc.co.in or [protected].

Letter sent to the DTDC Head Office

This is regarding the a misplaced consignment (number - V[protected]. The consignment was booked on 15/07/2010 from Silchar, Shillongpatty office for Pune through DTDC Plus. The consignment was supposed to reach Pune on 19/07/2010 or latest by 20/07/2010. However, it has not been delivered till today i.e. 21/07/2010. When I tried to track the consignment through your consignment tracker, this is what I get: (attached)

When I contacted your booking office[protected] & [protected]) on Tuesday, there was no one to attend the call. After repeated attempts I was able to speak to one Mr Raj at around 6 PM. He said he will let me know about the status within 20 mins. But he never got back. After waiting for an hour I again called the booking office to find out and subsequently came to know that Mr. Raj has left for the day. The other person took my mobile number and consignment number and said he will give me an update in 15 mins. But I never received a call from him either.

Today on 21/07/2010, I tried calling the same number [protected] & [protected]) again. But these number suddenly became unassigned. When I sent someone to enquire at the booking office at Silchar, they said the consignment is lying at Gauhati office due to some unavoidable circumstances. They provided a new number ([protected])and asked me to contact them. When I spoke to Mr. Dheeraj he said these things happen and this is nothing new. He also said that this will be resolved and will let me know the outcome within 15mins. He then calls me to inform that DTDC Plus service is not available in Pune. Now, this is utterly surprising that your people in the Silchar booking office is not aware of this. When I asked why was this not informed when my brother went up to the Silchar booking office for the booking. He had no answer and added that the consignment will be sent from Guwahati as a normal consignment and reach Pune by Friday. Then again he back-tracked and said that it will first be sent to Silchar office from where it will be sent to Pune as a normal consignment, which is supposed to be the official procedure. He also added that it has already been dispatched to Silchar and it reached Silchar office. When I said I want the consignment back, because I don't want to send it through DTDC anymore, he said the consignment has been sent through a bus and that the bus has broken down. So it will reach Silchar office only by evening.

I am utterly distressed with the way things are being handled. Every other person in your office is giving conflicting information. I choose to use your service because it claims "DTDC PLUS provides Assured Next business day delivery to metros and major cities and DTDC BLUE provides Assured second business day delivery to a large no of destinations across the country." and because I needed the document by Tuesday. This is something which is unacceptable.

Please have this sorted out. The documents that were sent are very important. Would appreciate if you can send a reply ASAP. I can be contacted at [protected] or [protected].

my consignment no A18361364 sent from rajkot on 11th june 2010 to chennai, still not received until 12th july 2010; contains parcel of my referred books,
when contacted customer care of chennai, they refered as the parcel not received in the manifest # as mentioned in tracking system
customer care of ahmedabad referred, the parcel is sent in surface it will take 10 days, after 10 days, they referred that parcel is reached chennai, but ppl in chennai dtdc office not received.
I dont know what to do now, every i am calling customer care of ahmedabad & chennai, whenever they heared this consigment no, immediately they terminate my call, i was feud up in following these ppl.

1. I am an Indian Air Force officer posted at Utarlai, near Barmer, Rajasthan.
2. I had sent my very important documents by DTDC courier(Barmer franchisee pin code:344001) on 16 Jun 10, consignment no V03233024, and was told that the same would be delivered by 21 Jun 10. The documents included very important papers regarding driving licence of my wife, who is a lawyer herself, Adv. Prerna Rai. However, till date, there is no trace of my documents, due to which my wife's licence is also cancelled.Though I was told that I will be contacted on phone in case of any problem, no such step was taken.
3. Today, at 2130h, I went to the DTDC franchisee in Barmer (opp. railway station)to enquire about my courier. I was told to return next day morning. However, being a fighter pilot serving at western border, I am a very busy government person and expressed my inability to return next day, so I requested the person at franchisee to help track my order, on which he replied'chakkar to aapko lagane padenge, aise to pata nahi chalega'(you will have to make rounds of this office, else you will not track your order). On telling him that his approach was wrong and will be complained, he replied that I can go anywhere I want and nothing will happen to him. On this I quitely left the office.
4. Sir, I would like to tell you that though my missing consignment is hurtin me, but what's hurting me more is the way the franchisee personnel, who represent you, are behaving with the customers. I really have a lot of respect for DTDC but I am deeply hurt by the incident, whole of which can't be narrated by me as its humiliating. It is my humble request to take appropriate steps against defaulters else the reputation of your great organisation is going to take a beating.

Sir, I am residing at UTTARLAI in BARMER district of RAJASTHAN. My brother had sent a parcel for me from CALICT, Kerala through DTDC couriers on 29 May 10(ref. no. R[protected]. After one week when i tracked the parcel on internet, to my horror I found that it was sent from Delhi to Khajuraho , MP instead of Barmer! After two days it was sent back to Delhi, quoting CUSTOMER REFUSED TO ACCEPT. Itried to contact the Delhi office in every possible way but couldn't. Finally the parcel reached back at CALICT on 15 Jun 10. I was in urgent need of the content of the parcel.This is the service provided by a company whose theme song says "DTDC delivers on time"!

iam chandan singh.from gr noida. i made a courier from gr noida to ramgarh distric jharkhand.on 7th june 2010 by DTDC courier company from gr.noida office.but still niether the consingment recive at the mention address nor recive back. there is no response by the company and also by the retailer either gr noida offfice or ramgarh office.

kindly take immegiate action aganist the company beacaue some important document are there in consignment.

I have sent gift coupons worth Rs. 4000, of which only coupon worth Rs.1250/- was delivered. I realized that the staplered pins were opened up , celotype has also been opened carefully. I see pin hooks empty, letters in the address being removed because the celotype was removed by someone in between.

There is no proper response from the courier service. I feel sick about calling DTDC often and checking what happened to the rest of the coupons. I don’t want others to get cheated the same way as I was.

I would like to say, DTDC service is not trust worthy.

I sent a courier to Singapore through Dtdc on 13 May 2010 and it has not been delivered yet as on June 9. The package was picked up by a Mr. J.K.Singh ([protected]) from my apartment and he has not been responding to my calls. Details such as landline number and email address on his visiting card have proved to be bogus. The consignment number is N92960636. The address of the branch office on the card is Main Sohna Road, Badshahpur, Near Sai Hospital, Gurgaon, Haryana.

I have sent a very imporatant courier on 27th May from Pune to Patna, I have been told that it will be deilivered on 31st May.

Today is 8th June but my courier is NOT yet delivered, this is very critical for me, I have posted some materail which is require to be delivered latest by 2nd or 3rd june.

I might loose complete six month becasue of this, I haven't use speed post as it genearlly take 4-5 days.

I am able to track online my consignment, but NO updates on that, keep sending emails to variours officess of DTDC but no response, tried calling pune and patna phone numbers no boday is picking up the phones.

Not sure what should I do, my consignment is P12792966, see if you can help me on this.

I have sent a parcel by DTDCcourier service from Kolkata to Ranchi on 19th May. The total weight of my parcel (11kg+5kg) was 16 Kg in two different boxes and my consignment No.- D02920298 but my consignee has received only one box (5kg) . When I contacted to DTDC people Ranchi (Mr. Ramesh – [protected]) who had delivered the parcel to my consignee, regarding this matter- He told me that he had received only one box which had delivered.
So I request you to do the needful to deliverer the missing parcel as early as possible.

We send a courier from Delhi to Bangalore on 13th May 2010 via DTDC couriers vide consignment no. Z12883898. The courier contained the educational certificates of Dr. Agnes Augusthy who had to go abroad for a job after receiving the courier in Bangalore by 19th May 2010. There was no trace of the courier till 25th May when we understood that the courier was sent back to Delhi stating various fake reasons. On 27th May we got the consignment back from Delhi. The tracking details is attached which contains various false information like door locked, no service, no such person etc. The addressee stays in very popular locality (Banashankri 3rd Stage) at Bangalore where all the courier services have their offices. Tracking details from the website of DTDC is attached.

Due to the delay in getting the courier on time, my wife (Dr. Agnes) lost the job opportunity in Saudi Arabia. The mental tension we suffered when there was not information about the courier is un explainable.

Requesting your help to ensure no others suffer due to the unresponsive service of DTDC.

The people working in the DTDC office are extremly unprofessional.. I ordered a guitar from bajaao.com my total docket is worth 24100/- DTDC patna is like they dont have any clue and they cant do anything! It was forwarded from mumbai on 28th reached kolkata on 29th and forwarded to patna on 30th may 2010 by Air! Today is 1st June and DTDC patna does not have any clue where is my docket and they are saying they cant do anything untill they dont recieve the docket! And now they have stopped answering my calls and have given me some mobile number saying its their senior's number which is always switched off... I am a law abide citizen that is the only reason why i being patient with such wrong attitude but I really want to burn the entire place down! DTDC still does not care about it!!

My consignment no is D03143442. I have booked the consignment on 26 May and it was supposed to be delivered on 28th May at Indore. That the consignment contents some gift for birthday for 30th May. Non delivery on time is a great stress to the sendor as well to receiver and the sending through DTDC courier has been become meaningless. This has resulted a great disappointment and non repairable falut. No doubt the courier who claims time bound deliveries all over the world is failed and liable for suitable cmpensation.

i am an engineering student. recently i posted an application letter for training in ranchi (at mecon). i posted it from bhubaneswar through DTDC courier on 9 may(CONS NO:K[protected] i was assured that it would be delivered in 3 days. but it was delivered on 20 may, because of which i missed the training.

Issues faced by customer(me) in detail

29March 2010 I have contacted DTDC (Kishore) to explain me the procedure of sending cargo overseas through phone (only info given was cost of the total service and pickup/delivery address details).

29March 2010,again have asked for email confirmation on what we spoke (same info sent as above).

1 April 2010 3rd party agency called TNT picked my items, they have no procedure of signing off and giving surety of the items in the bag.

7 April 2010 its still not sent of shipping, after sending reminder, Mr.Kishore from DTDC is asking me for the list of items which he should have done at the start of the conversation. I have replied with what ever I could remember

16 April 2010 I received my goods with items missing

Since then I am in touch with them through emails, I haven't received even a single phone call till date from DTDC, after pushing it to the DTDC head office Bangalore, I get a simple email from London DTDC office stating sorry for any inconvenience caused!!!!

I have entire email conversation I had with DTDC, please ensure before using DTDC courier service, they have answers for all the questions you ask.
