We couriered a parcel containing one piece of Computer Cabinet in CKD (completely knocked down) form valued at USD 4.40/Pc was couriered vide Choicex Tracking[protected] and onwards by Gati's Tracking #[protected] on 03-Sept-2010.

However, since the parcel was not delievered in more than three weeks after dispatch from here, we sent an email to their local agent with copy to Gati.com. We were informed by Gati.com that the Consignee is NOT answering calls whereas in reality the Consignee called them few times but with no concrete result and gave up the chase.

The status appearing on their website as attached clearly proves how pathetic their service is. The parcel arrived in Mumbai on 9th Sept and was finally delivered to the Consignee in Ulhasnagar Office, not in Ambernath or Godown as appearing on their website.

We recommended them to change name to Dheeli.com that suits the quality of their service, if any.

Gati.com — Pathetic Service and Misleading Information

We, a Hong Kong registered company with base in Guangzhou (China) having used Gati.com's courier service for few years through their local Agents here.

However, things have changed from last end of year when one of our Consignee's was asked by Gati.com to pay Rs 25XX.00 as Customs Duty on non-existent contents of Fabrics in the parcel. Since the samples were urgently needed, the Consignee paid the amount under protest with a Letter addressed to the Customs Department. When the Client demanded official Receipt from Customs Department, Gati.com gave its own Receipt. Nine months later, the Consignee has never received any reply from Gati.com or the Customs Department till this date.

The Consignee is not sure if the so called payment was actually handed over to the Customs Department and has asked us to compensate.

We wonder if Courier Companies come under preview of some Regluating authorities and if so, shall appreciate contact details of the Regulators. Thank you.

    We couriered a 15-Kg parcel through Choice International, Guangzhou (China) to our Consignee in Mumbai on 20-May that was routed through Gati.com's Tracking No.[protected].

    Upon the Consignee's on complaint of non-receipt of parcel, we checked on Gati.com and found the status as under:

    27-MAY-2010 08:57 Mumbai South Undelivered due to OCTROI PAYMENT NOT READY
    25-MAY-2010 10:15 Mumbai South Undelivered due to OCTROI PAYMENT NOT READY

    We called their almost non-existent Customer Care and were told that the parcel has been withheld owing to non-payment of Octroi and were asked to call [protected] and check the exact details. The guy informed that they went to the Consignee's address and could not deliver since the payment of Customs Duty - not Octroi was - not ready at the Consignee. This was proved to be a BIG LIE since no one from Gati.com neither visited the Consignee's address nor even made a call to the Consignee.

    When we asked the details of Customs Duty levied on the Parcel - since it contained all samples and printed Catalogues, we were given another number [protected].

    Unfortunately, the Phone was either out of range or no one answered the phone or called back.

    No one called the Consignee for one week while tracking status posted on their portal was nothing but a LIE. Perhaps, the courier took the time to have fun rather than visiting the Consignee and mis-informed the office which, in turn, posted the status without bothering to call the Consignee and verify the actual ground situation.

    Our complaints to the non-existent Customer Care Dept finally ended the client's misery as he was handed over the parcel almost 9-10 days after it arrived in Mumbai after payment of Rs 11XX as Customs Duty, once again against their own receipt, not official receipt from the Customs Dept.

    However, there is no explanation from Gati.com till this date as to why misleading information was posted under tracking of the AWB, why no one called the Consignee for over one week after the parcel arrived in Gati.com's Mumbai hub, nor is any exaplnation given or copy of receipt from the Customs Department emailed to us.

    Gati seems to be poorly managed, unprofessional Courier service that has lost its glory of speedy, efficient service giving impression that Gati.com has transformed into Dheeli.com and is resoting to tactics to fatten the balance sheet with Other Income.

      I just contacted the Gati Alwaye Branch at the number:[protected].

      I was told about the charges but that I would have to drop my stuff off at the location. I requested for a door service and Packing too, I had to remind the personnel that packing is done with an extra charge, since I'd been offered the same at Gati-Maharashtra. And the guy requested me to call the Manager at number: [protected].

      I called the number and told him that I needed to send my bike to another state and I overheard the other guy telling this manager that he had requested me to call the manager and the manager disconnected the phone. He does not pick the call since. Now what should a customer do at this point?

      Talking about courier services, I had a bad experience with thecourierguy in South Africa.I have been the Courierguy for a few months now.
      Right from the very beginning I vave been having problems with the courier service that the courierguy delivers.
      They always arive late to collect the goods, or sometimes even the next day, with a proper explanation, When I query their poor courier service peformance, they pass the buck on to the courierguy franchise driver.

      When I tell them that the courierguy is the parent company and must insure that goods are picked up on time as promised by them, they say "NO".The Courierguy franchisee is responsible for his area.When I speak to the courierguy franchisee (I see him all the time when he comes to pickup)
      about the late pickups, He says he is doing his best to collect on time, buy the courier guy will instruct him on who to pick up from first.

      I inform him that he is the courierguy franchisee for this area, and he is responsible for on time collection and deliveries.He says that he realizes that, but the courierguy retains absolute control of all areas, through their franchise agreement.He has paid hundreds of thousands for his courier guy franchise for this area, and he has no say to improve the performance in his area, because the courierguy calls all the shots, and he is basically a driver that is used by the courier guy and not a real courierguy franchisee.

      I asked him why did he spend so much money buying the courierguy franchise?He said that the courierguy painted such a rosy picture of the courierguy franchise, that he was taken in by it, and it was the biggest mistake that he made, and cannot wait to sell his franchise and get out.
      It then struck me that I was also taken in by their fancy brochure, bragging about how wonderful and efficient they are and The Courier Guy is trusted, recognised and the fastest growing courier company in South Africa. WHAT A LOAD OF HOGWASH.
      Its time for me to find a more reliable and trustworthy courier service, thats not the likes of the courier guy.

        Today i have recd two boxes of 42 kgs from kolkata to ludhiana Docket no[protected] TO PAY.
        And your delivery person is demanding Rs 1746/- for this small shipment.

        If the same shipment, i send these goods to same destination through Blue dart they will charge approx 650/- and as well as all other couriers or cargo companies
        but your charges are horrible.
        these are 3 times than any other top 5 cargo companies.

        also note that the docket slip is tempered the booking date is over writed its changed 30/07/10 to 04/08/10. the fright calculations on your coppies r hidden by your policy i dont know why. how can you hide this from a customer ( not any consumer rights obeyed by you)
        Your person here in ludhiana demands full money and he dont have any clarification of charges hence the basic freight is 11/- p.kg.
        He just ask me to call the bookink office of consignor in kolkata as he dont know anything.

        Your delivery guys ask me they have to charge what the booking office write on it even if its 10000/- if we dont pay they will not deliver the goods
        its just Black mailing ( whats wrong with you)
        your guys know that we have to do what they want if we need our goods in good condition.

          i booked my bike with Gati for transportation from Nasik to Kottayam on 29th july 2010...i was given an assured delivery date 07 aug 2010..till 10th aug when i didnt get my bike i started calling up Gati office and wrote emails to them..from the track shipment option on their site i came to know that the consignment reached coimbatore on 5aug and even today when i m writing this on 12 aug 2010 the status has not changed..in between twice i made online complaints on Gati's site..got complaint number but no response whatsoever from their side..

          Dear Sir:

          We would like to bring to your kind notice that vide your docket No:[protected] dt: 11.12.2010 we have despatched one consignmet to our customer M/s Hindustan Coca Cola at Wada. The committed date of delivery for this consignment was given as 14.12.2010. So far, the consignment has not reached the destination till the time of writing this complaint. We understand from your online tracking site that this consignment has reached your Panvel godown on 13th Dec 2010 and is lying there since then. We failed to uderstand as to why this consignment has not moved from Panvel for onward delivery at Wada immediately. What are the reasons behind this? Why are your staff at Panvel so lethergic. Due to non-receipt of this consignment, we have incurred severe financial losses as the work has got hampered. Even today the consignment is still lying at Panvel. How do you compensate our financial loss?

          In view of what has been stated above, please look into this on an urgent basis and arrange for moving the consignment from Panvel to Wada so that the consignment gets delivered at Wada at least tomorrow.

          We want a proper explanation from you. If we fail to receive proper explanation from you on this your failure, we will lodge a complaint with Consumers Forum and you will be held responsible for all consequences.We want financial compensation from you for the losses incurred by us.

          1. the boxes which were shipped were tampered with.
          2. the locks were broken and the hinges of both the boxes shipped were forcefully ripped.
          3. loss of house hold goods.
          4. the tool kit of bike which was shipped is missing.
          5. the boxes were damaged.
          6.The assured delivery date was on the 31 Dec 2010. I have received the consignment on 04 Jan 2011 afternoon.
          7. the personnel who delivered the consignment left the docket and never reported back when a written complaint was handed over to him.
          8. both the dockets, the customer as well as the office copy were left at my residence and are now in my possession.
          9. the customer care at gati-ranchi center were rude and made no effort to help.
          10. i have still not been contacted by gati- ranchi center after they dumped the consignment at my door and vanished on 04 jan 2011.
          11. on checking the present status of my consignment it is showing "Undelivered due to RESIDENCE/OFFICE CLOSED since last 2 days. this is shameful."
          12. i am attaching photographs taken on delivery.
          13.not expected from a reputed company like "GATI"
          14. please look into the matter otherwise i will be forced to go to the consumer forum and make this shoddy delivery public.

            I received the damaged delivery of computer which was shipped on 28th July'10 from Bangalore to Kota by Gati Corporation. It was a personal computer containing 4 cartons one each for monitor, CPU, UPS and Speakers.

            Gati personnel collected and later packed the goods from Bangalore. They were repeatedly informed about the electronic goods being fragile and hence to include fragile stickers on the cartons. They ensured us of properly packing the goods and putting the sticker onto it.

            Today, 2nd August'10, I received the goods in damaged conditions(photographs attached). I tried to check if after all this damage monitor would work well and to my astonishment found that the Cathode Ray Tube had started to burn. I believe you understand that burning of computer monitor may have serious consequences such as loss of life.

            Also I found that none of the cartons were properly packed with neither of them having any fragile sticker. On inquiring the Bangalore department we were told that the stickers were out of stock hence were not put on the cartons. Such unreasonable excuses from a reputed company can't be justified.

              On 7th July 2010, I dispatched a cargo containing 3 pieces from IIT Kanpur to my residence at South Delhi via GATI under their docket number[protected]. According to their terms and conditions, they promised delivery by 12th of July. They have however yet, as of today 16th July 11:30 am , not delivered anything.

              The most irritating aspect of this wait time is the fact that they have the worst imaginable customer communication I have seen in any company. I have been repeatedly calling them for the past few days and each person to whom I talk to patiently listens to my story, gives me a new number to call and cuts the call. In most cases, the number they give is either a wrong one or a number which keeps ringing with noone to pick up.

              When, I tracked my cargo online, it kept giving "Undelivered due to ENTRY PROHIBITED ON SECURITY REASON" from 10th - 13th july. On 14th July to my horror, on tracking it, it said "Undelivered due to DEPS (DAMAGE / EXTRA / PILFERAGE / SHORTAGE) occur."

              I immediately called up the South Delhi Depot of GATI in Okhla phase II and talked to one Mr Vijay who is supposed to be in charge. He promised to look into the matter and call me back, but never did so. Further, I could not contact him again as my calls were either given to his driver or did not get answered. The driver assured that the entire cargo comprising of 3 pieces was with him and would be delivered by 4 or 4.30PM yesterday (15 July). However as I did not get the cargo, I called him up again when he said he would deliver it by 6.30PM as he was in the process of delivering other cargos in the nearby area. When he failed to do so at 6.30 also, I called him up again, when he promised to deliver the cargo first thing in the morning i.e around 11am on 16 July. Yet again the cargo has not turned up at my residence. Upon calling him now in the mobile number of Mr Vijay, I am being given the excuse by the driver that his vehicle is under repair. So I asked him to give the mobile to Mr Vijay or any other superior, the driver is answering that Mr Vijay is not available.

              I am puzzled that the driver is using Mr Vijay's mobile number and I could not reach him. In view of the above, I get the uneasy doubtful feeling that some thing has happened to the cargo and GATI personnel are hiding the facts.

              Please help me out in getting my cargo as I am a student.

              My docket that was given an assured delivery date of June 2 to Imphal is yet to be delivered. I have not received any details so far as to where my cargo is right now and why that is taking so long to be delivered.

              This has been the second time I have had trouble with tracking my consignment through GATI. This time I also fear something might have happened to my cargo as the status message says that they received the only the documents and no packages.

              Whatever be the case, it clearly does not deserve the title of Superbrand. If it is a risky proposition to send any item above 7000 through GATI, they should clearly mention that in their site.

                I had couriered a VIP ELANZA suitcase containing my clothes, accessories, BOOKS and few original certificates vide Docket No.[protected] from my college (BITS Pilani, Goa Campus) Goa to New Delhi on 14 May 10. However, till date the item has not been delivered and has presumably been lost. There has been no positive response from the company till now. Though the items inside were worth about 16000Rs, the firm rep while booking the item (at my college premises) did not tell me to indicate the value anywhere in the document. Now the firm says that under this condition, the value of the courier is JUST Re ONE only. I do not know what to do next. I have spoken to their head of services but to no avail. Please Advise.

                GATI — PACKET LOSS BY GATI

                PACKETS WERE SENT FROM CHENNAI BEFORE 6 MONTH AND IT IS STILL MISSING. GATI IS SAYING THAT THEY ARE NOT LIABLE TO PAY THE PRICE OF THE LOST PACKET EVEN IF IT IS LOST.HELP ME IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEA TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION
                gati is such a worst coureier service. even my mat dint reach th destination yet . when i asked in gati office they casually replied tat its lost in blore express. it s such a company . friends m advisin u never ever use gati ... fit for nothin .
                i too lost my luggage send from behrampur to greater noida(9packets) through GATI but i recieved only 8 packets, initially they told that it will be delivered in a day or 2 but after forcing them they told me to talk to the behrampur office for the fault but after talking to him he told that he is not responsible and adviced to talk to customer care.after that i contacted them they launched a complaint saying that it will soon be traced but it is 10 days since then and no success.now they are saying that give a written complaint to noida office regarding that along with the original of the reciept.i lost hope of my luggage.

                Delivery in Silchar Assam.

                The worst courier service of India. I buy things from Amazon. Whenever they send the items by Gati it never reaches in time, it always reaches after 6/7 days or some times 2/3 weeks later. Really very upset with the service of Gati.

                  THIS IS IN REGARD WITH THE SERVICES AVAILED BY THE GATI COURIER COMPANY.I WAS TO RECIEVE 2 CARTONS OF CHOCOLATE WEIGHING 27 KG IN ALL WITH DOCKET NUMBER '[protected]'.DATED 7JUNE 2010 FROM OOTY.I RECIEVED THE SHIPMENT ON TIME .WE OPENED THE FIRST CARTONAND USED IT .THE PRODUCT WAS SATISFACTORY.THERE WAS NO DAMAGE.BUT WHEN WE WERE FINISHED WITH THE FIRST CARTON,WE WENT FOR THE SECOND ONE AND WERE SHOCKED TO SEE THAT THE CARTONS SEAL WAS OPENED AND THE CHOCOLATES WERE MISSING (5 KG IN ALL)AND SOME OF THE PACKETS WERE TORN OPEN AND EATEN AND THEN RESEALED WITH A DIFFERENT TAPE.ON CHEKING FURTHER WE FOUND THAT THE SEAL FROM THE SIDES OF THE CARTON WAS ALSO TAMPERED WITH AND RESEALED WITH A DIFFERENT INSULATION TAPE.WHEN I CONTACTED THE HEAD OFFICE ,ONE OFTHE EMPLOYEES AGREED THAT THE PROBLEM OCCURED IN BANGALORE,AND TOLD ME TO SPEAK TO HER SENIOR OFFICER MS PRASANNA.ON CONTACTING HER SHE TOLD ME TO SEND A WRITTEN COMPLAINT REGARDING THE ISSUE,WHICH I HAVE DONE.BECAUSE OF THE THEFT COMMITED BY THEIR EMPLOYEES IN BANGALORE.I HAD TO SUFFER A LOSS OF ALMOST RS 3000/-I WOULD REQUEST YOU TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND TAKE NECESSARY ACTION AGAINST THE COMPANY FOR COMMITING THEFT/FRAUD AND BREACHING THE TRUST OF THE CUSTOMER.I WNT THEM TO COMPENSATE FOR MY LOSS .I AM PROVIDING YOU WITH THE ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBERS OF THE COMPANY.

                    Hi,

                    My father sent me a bed from Bhopal to Bangalore from Gati services considering it to be the best service in India.But in vain...He had booked it to be delivered to my flat on 4th floor.

                    But when the courier came, I shocked when the person siad he will drop it till my building gate and won't take it upstairs!!! Despite calls from Gati manager from Bhopal, Gati services in Bangalore didn't pay any heed and wud not agree to keep it upstairs...Even the delivery person was talking very rudely...

                    Meanwhile I noticed tht 1 of the packages had been completely torn...n to my horror the back part of the bed was broken into 2 pieces!!!

                    I refused to receive the courier and sent it back...n will be registering a complaint to claim the damages done...

                    A very horrible experience from a reputed company...advise you never to use Gati services ever in your life ...

                    Gati courier service — loss of goods by the courier company

                    I have to send my engg. books from pune to delhi . So i sent them in two cartons by this GATI courier service . They only delivered one on date 12.09.09 & told that the other one will be delivered soon .
                    I have the original slip with me .I almost ring them everyday from 17.09.09 onwards they always said they r checking . Now it is almost two week & they are still checking .when i asked for refund for the damage , they said this is not their liability ,it is shippers risk, they even said that i should have insured those books ! funny na

                    somebody please help me to tackle this problem
                    Call me i m from gati ltd. i will definitely try to solve u r prob.

                      I recently shifted from Pune and used GATI for transporting all my belonginings from Pune to Kottayam. The shipment contained a total of 8 items however the GATI representative in Pune asked me to combine 2 items (namely 2 bean bags) and made the number of items as 7. The shipment was taken on the 14th of April and I paid Rs.5000. The amount on the bill was Rs.4420 only and the shipment was only booked on 17th of April. The assured delivery date as per the slip given to me was the 20th of April however when they logged it onto their system they put it as 22nd April.

                      The shipment came on 29th April after many daily followups from my side. It was found that one of bean bags (which was meant to be combined with another bean bag) was missing. On calling GATI offices, I was not able to get any clear information about my missing package. I have raised a complaint on their site however no one has contacted me to give me an update.

                      I was told that I would receive a refund equal to the frieght charges due to late delivery (1 week late). I later found out that the refund would be in the form of coupons from GATI which could be used against future shipments. However I feel after having such a bad experience,I should not be forced to risk my belongings by sending them through GATI just to get my money back. Such "Company Policies" are not customer oriented and are just a ploy to forcefully get a customer to use the company's Service even after such an appalling evidence of poor service.

                      The Docket number with GATI is[protected] from Pune.
                      I have raised 2 complaints on the GATI site namely:
                      CS29011- for not receving delivery post assured delivery date and CS29082- for the missing item
                      I have attached the screen shot of the status from the GATI site and a complaint that I had made on the site itself.
                      I humbly request that an appropriate corrective action is taken so that such mishaps are not repeated and consumers need not suffer from such poor service.

                      I have some similar kind of complains against GATI. I shipped my baggage from Delhi to Mumbai. It was a locked tin bag which is difficult to be broken. On receiving the baggage on the other end I was surprise to see that the tin was completely damaged and the locks were break opened. On inspecting the items I found that a Ray Ban Aviator glass was missing. On complaining, I was said that I will be provided with some kind of certificate of loss/damage of good, but no compensation for the damage caused. Kindly read the clause 9 B which says GATI is liable to pay loss of Rs. 400 per kg to a maximum of Rs.5000.

                          I had booked consignment to be sent to Kolkata from our city Surendranagar wide Gati Ltd., AWB #[protected].

                          Promised delivery date was 02-Apr-2010 whereas actual delivery happened on 06-Apr-2010.

                          Due to this, I suffered a HUGE loss as my export L/C expired and I am attributed all the business loss as well as penalty by my customer.

                          Gati Ltd. — No delivery of luggage and no information about it

                          I had submitted my luggage from mohali to be transferred at nasik on 30 june 2011. I had been told that it will reach at nasik on 5 july 2011 and it was also assured deliver date when I checked shipment status on internet. Till date I DID not got my luggage. I had called on toll free no. Of gati[protected] and entered my complaint thrice (no.[protected], 11156374 and[protected] till I DID not got any confirm information about my luggage. Currently I am in nasik and I have to go to bangalore this week for joining my job. Before that it is must that I should get my luggage since some items I have to take with me. I am so hectic related to this issue and even I am worried about where my luggage is? the customer care executive are not providing any information related to same issue. Please help me out. Thanks

                            I booked my bike to deliver from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata on 30th March and it was supposed to deliver on 1st April. Till today 5th April I did not received it and GATI gives me worst situation. No body is connecting to proper person and blaming each other, mean while I am not receiving my bike.

                            I am not able to find the person to whom I can escalete the issue.

                              I have booked house hold items from patna to Bangalor on 8 March 2010 and the delivery date was given on the receipt was 15 March 2010. The item has reached in bangalore on 11 th March as i was out of stataion i told the person who called me to tke the delivery, i will return back on 14 th march 2010. !5th March morning i got a called from GATI person that the items being delived today. When the truck came to my house i found that the items are loaded in the truck like garbage. All the glass items were brocken (i.e table top glass, dressing table glass, etc). And they asked me to pay the dumurrage charge for Rs. 938.00 because the items reached bangalore on 11 th March , so i have to pay the charges for keeping the items in gowdown. Immediately i called customer care toll free number. I have been said that i do not have to pay maoney as the delivery datae is 15 March and it is being delivering on 15 March. But local GATI person was threating me that he will collect the money by any means. I have spoken Ms. Minaskhi from escalation department GATI also, she told same thing that no money has to paid. They are looking into this matter. after two hours and several conversation i feel that no one is taking care and the local GATI person were fiting at my door and suppose to take back the items, person who gave the threat was Mr. UMESH from MAHADEVPURA GATI branch. He tols that he is the all in al for GATI in bangalore do not know customer care and all. Finally i paid Rs. 938.00 to the driver (ANAND) then he unload the items.

                              This is horrable experience with GATI. I had a very good feedback about GATI so i taken GATI..but i do not recomend any one to avail GATI service. The worst service in logistic wolrd. I have decided to move for legal options might be counsumer court.

                              Please avoid GATI...you won't get any claim and you will get unwanted headache with the GATI worst employee...

                              I absolutely agree with the complaint. I am in to business and my material was about to come by gati from rajasthan to pune. Gati received the material intheir godown at pune and it was kept at their godown. Now they say that they have received only half the material at their sub- godown from main storage place. I have made 100 calls to their office and no one responds. They have not taken any action in this regard. I have never seen such an unprofessional company like GATI. My advice is never choose GATI for any shipment. Very bad experience

                                This is to inform you that i couried a very important document on 27th of January to Darbhange, Bihar after getting the confirmation from their end(Gati). But it is almost 20 days now but that courier did not reach the destination & neither have I got my courier back. Even after sending lots of mail & keep calling to the customer care dept. no body is ready to take any responsibility. .
                                Pls let me know how to go about it. I m seeking quick response from their end. It is not just about cheating 72/- but i want them to be penalized for this absurd act.

                                      We have made booking of a parcel from Delhi to Junagadh through Gati, after finalising regarding charges @ approx Rs.5300.00 we agreed and confirmed. Vide BookingRef. No. 10366769. Now cargo has arrived and they are claiming ROV (Which is something related to Value & Insurance) they have added some thing around Rs.9800.00 towards such charges we which neither we have agreed nor we have been informed. We have made compalint to their Head office and Mumbai - West office, but no reply till date. it is almost 5 days or more but no reply.

                                        Mishandling of car during transportation

                                        I am completely disturbed over the manner in which my car was handled and dispatched from delhi to pune by gati home packers & movers. From the day one they have proved to be a bunch of liers. Mr. Sunil and mr. Vikas both told my father that the car has been loaded on the night of 07 november 2009 for pune whereas it was still being used for personal works.
