In March 2011, I purchased Hitachi's 3 Window ACs for home use. Two ACs were 1.5 Ton each and One AC was 2.0 Ton. These were the new model - 5 star rated and advertised as silent in operation. However, right when they were installed, I found the ACs too noisy. I made numerous complaints to Hitachi and despite 2-3 visits by their technician, they were not able to do anything. They continued to tell me that that level of noise is going to be there - so much so for their advertising it as silent ACs.
Last month, two technicians again visited and found some problem with the 2.0 Ton AC and said some part required replacement. They assured that they would visit again in 2-3 days and replace the part which according to them was causing noise. In their service book, I made a remark that the part, as identified by them should be replaced as per their promise. It is over 1 month now and nobody has visited to replace the said part.
I feel completely cheated having brought supposedly 'silent' ACs which make so much of noise. To add to insult I paid more of the 'silent' AC than ACs of other brands. The Customer Service Level is pathetic and exasperating. One expected greater level of service from Hitachi.
I request you to take up my complaint with Hitachi and help resolve it. If they cannot reduce the noise level, they should be gracious enough to replace it. All the 3 ACs are in Warranty still.

Hitachi, 1.5 ton Split AC — Not getting the after sale service
This is to inform all the customers planning to buy AC that I have purchased a HITACHI 1.5 ton Split Air Conditioner from an authorized dealer of Hitachi in Kolkata, which I presume (now sure) the worst decision of my life. From the very next day of purchase the AC starts to give problems. I have given several intimations to the service centre of Hitachi at 188/1/1, Picnic Garden Road Kolkata West Bengal (Phone No. 033 –[protected]. The service centre persons have taken my mobile no. for 33 times (yes, I have counted!) to give me the necessary information very shortly, but till time they didn’t call me. Finally, on 9th June, 2009 a technician from the service center had visited my residence and it was then detected that the AC was not working due to the malfunction of motor, which is to be replaced by the Hitachi. Till time I didn’t get that so called replacement. Probably the service center persons have planned to solve the problem during the winter i.e. after scorching summer. My family members are suffering badly in this scorching summer. I had already taken two days leave from my Office for this purpose.SO NEVER BUY ANY HITACHI PRODUCT
