TRANSACTION FAILURE
Session expired after making payment - No ticket booked -- bank account debited
TRANSACTION ID [protected]

I faced a problem while booking a ticket now on irctc.co.in TRANSACTION ID/[protected] date of booking 01-nov-2010 reservation from ROURKELA to AHMEDABAD 12/12/2010 . After entering the details of the two passengers, I made the payment using SBI DEBIT CUM ATM CARD online. After making the payment I got the message that the session is expired.

I checked my citi bank transactions and I can see a payment of 481 /- made. However when I see the list under "Booked Tickets" on the website, I dont see any reservation made.

Please advise what to be done since I have made a payment and there is no booking done by the website.

I faced a problem while booking a ticket now on irctc.co.in TRANSACTION ID/[protected] from KOLLAM JN to KOZHIKKODE (CTL) for 31st July 2008 in 6347 Mangalore Express. After entering the details of the one passengers, I made the payment using SBI online. After making the payment I got the message that the session is expired.

I checked my SBI bank transactions and I can see a payment of 179/- made. However when I see the list under "Booked Tickets" on the website, I dont see any reservation made.

Please advise what to be done since I have made a payment and there is no booking done by the website.

I have booked ticket from Chennai central(MAS) to Thane(TNA) on 13-Nov-2008, by giving my ICICI credit card number and CVV number. I am very much sure that I have approved payment only once by giving my CVV number. I also received the confirmation with the PNR-Number[protected]. Journey date is[protected]:45 AM, MUMBAI EXPRESS. Rs. 762.00-/-

Then later I checked my Booked ticket option to take printout and found it shows 2 extra tickets booked with some other different PNR numbers, with 2 different coaches and my credit card was charged 3 times totally. Rs. 762.00 * 3 = 2286-/-

[protected] [protected] -This is the ticket generated first time and I received the successful transaction confirmation.

Let me know how it is possible for IRCTC to book tickets for the same train and same passengers three times. I filled only one form and got the confirmation only once. Credit card and CVV number is confidential and how they can use it 2 times extra without my knowledge. How they get information for next two times to book tickets for the same train and same passenger details. According to me all the information given first time should be deleted from their cache memory once the first ticket is alloted. But when I called Customer support of Chennai IRCTC they told its your banks mistake they have released the fund 3 times for the same train and IRCTC will book the train tickets how many times they are releasing the fund (This concept is wrong, My ticket information should be deleted once from their temporary memory once the first ticket is alloted and it should not allow to request for the second time). Also they told if I want I can cancel the other two ticket where I have to bare Rs. 40 per ticket. Come on guys First my credit card was charged thrice without my knowledge and I have to loose my money by canceling my tickets? We called ICICI customer care they told that they received the request for 3 times for the fund so it was released thrice and we requested our bank to escalate this case and they have done it. I have already send emails to IRCTC regarding this and not yet received any reply.

The below tickets are generated automatically which I have not approved.
So kindly check this issue which is very serious and return my money back 762 * 2 = Rs. 1524, back for the below tickets without deducting any charges. Looking forward for quick reply.

BOOKED TICKIT HISTORY IS DELETED FROM MY IRCTC ACCOUNT. HOW TO GET IT BACK.
My transaction was done properly and I got two tickets for 07 Nov in Indore Bandra Special Train. Transaction ID is [protected]. I had seen this ticket and now it is not visible in the booked history. Amount is also deducted from irctc, now where is my ticket.

My both of the transaction failed today(23.05.2012) when i was booking the ticket to bhubaneswar from new delhi in rajdhani exp. while booking tickets in IRCTC..
My login i.d of irctc is (anantray07). and my transactions id for both transactions are

    While booking train ticket through IRCTC website, the verification code didnt appear. Without the code I didnt book ticket and my travel plan is spoiled. I think this is one of the unncessary step to verification code image for booking. May be it is meant for restricting online users.

    Yes. It is absolutely true. Beta version is really. Better, Tatkal option can be removed from the Online booking. The link is of no use. After 8 AM in the morning, Site crashed. This site needs to be improved to handle more number of requests. Defiently, It should be the technical glitch.

    I totally agree with the above; I am also trying to get the ticket booked through online. Registration stopped due to "Enter Verification Code" field. This field is not displaying. Kindly rectify the problem at once. This is my humble request.

    i have booked tatkal tkts may times. i got it 80% of the times. Some people have developed automatic softwares to do tkt. human typing will never compete with those automated software, where all information is typed before and only communication with irctc happens after 8am. To avoid booking from such automatic softwares they added image verification. However they didn't implemented it propoerly. the image doesn't appear half the times. They need to implement some mechanism to avoid automatic softwares, otherwise the common internet user chances of getting tatkal tkt is very less.

    Yes..i was trying from last one hour to book a ticket but I am getting stuck at this verification code.
    I have tried different browsers IE, Mozilla and chrome.
    Still the problem is the same.

    And finally all my tatkal quota tickets got exhausted and my travel plan postponed.

        While booking the ticket itself, you are informed that 10 Rs Commision will appear extra on your bank statement.That is because it is taken separately. You are being told. And its 10 Rs.If you book via an agent the commission goes much higher

        and even from my account more extra Rs10 was deducted after one day

            Today(28/10/2010), while booking train tickets throw online for train #7211 sheduled departure on (30/10/2010) for compartment 3AC and number of tickets 2, after submitting my payment details (debit card# and pin) it shows verified and before confirming the ticket it shows a screen containing the below

            This is some kind of information theft and can be serious issue if the authorities don't act quickly, loosing the customers faith. Personally feeling that this will be my last online transaction with IRCTC.

            IRCTC — Online Reservation

            Sir,
            I have been using online reservation facility of IRCTC for a long time. I think that the Railway Department is not fare with normal online consumers and Agents. They are providing extra facilities to their Agents for quick reservations and even they block the normal consumers for peak time also.
            Today I was trying to get TATKAL RESERVATION from Lalitpur to Raipur by Chhattisgarh Train.The site was showing 09 berths under that Quota. I was connected with IRCTC site from 07.30 AM, but at 08.00AM the site was gone on hold and after 15 minutes the site reactivated again with no Quota on TATKAL Reservations.
            I am of opinion that there is some conspiracy between Railway Department/IRCTC and Agents. Pl. look in to/inquire the matter and take proper lagitimate action against responsible officers.

            This is serious matter, to be looked into by the vigilance section of Indian Railways.

              we were tavelling in 2nd class devagiri express on 3rd of may which starts at mumbai at 9.05 pm

              my complaint is we took a tatkal tkt but most surprising part is there was no TC to check the tkts and the whole train (reserved compartments) were full with unreserved passengers.

              i would like to ask this when we book 2 months in advance and for tatkal we pay extra, what is the fecility u r providing.

                Myself Priyalal Sau, booked an e-ticket (PNR: [protected]) from Vizag to Howrah but unfortunately that train was cancelled and I have submitted the TDR on 23rd July’2009. After waiting for more than one year still I have not received the refunded money.

                I am in confusion state in thinking that whether I shall received my money back or not.

                  Railway E Ticket — REFUND OF RAILWAY TICKET

Head Quarters Office, Commercial Branch 3rd floor Churchgate Mumbai-20.I met MR.S .Kumar and Bela Meena Madam they informed me that they cannot do anything and I must go to IRCTC Office at CST Railway Station for necessary enquiry.Then at IRCTC Office I was told to do this email for necessary action and refund of this ticket.
                  I was unaware about refund procedure and I was under impression that you will directly give refund of this ticket to my credit card as train was cancelled by railways.
                  Plz look into the matter and refund my ticket amount at earliest.

                        This Site is of no use; then what's the use of providing the site-services to the Public.
                        Let them remove it.
                        Till last year it was OK;
                        Now the Site has become more of an AGENT-site rather than public.

                        whenever you log-in it never goes inside. (always displays msg "This page cannot be displayed")Then what's the use to common public. Remove it totally.

                        Let them make it totally an "AGENT-site", no public should be given access.

                        of late the site has gone down from better to WORST.

                        Will the authorities pls. look into & decide whether to make it public or Agent.

                          I would like to get your kind attention on the problems faced by me while using Internet Booking facility to book my ticket for my journey on www.irctc.co.in. IRCTC web service is a disaster. You would reach peak of your frustration booking tickets online. The server threw a message 'Unable to retrieve due to communication failure' while I was booking my ticket on 18 Oct10 through irctc.co.in. I completed all process and payment gateways charged the payment but didn't issue me ticket. I got the message from irctc “sorry for Unable to retrieve your ticket due to communication failure” and Rs 644/-was charged from my SBI A/C No. [protected].
                          So, I request you sir please look in to this matter to issue me either journey ticket or deposit the same amount in my SBI A/C .Required documents is attached herewith .

The server threw a message 'Unable to retrieve due to communication failure' while I was booking my ticket on 18 Oct10 through irctc.co.in. I completed all process and payment gateways charged the payment but didn't issue me ticket. I got the message from irctc “sorry for Unable to retrieve your ticket due to communication failure” and Rs 152/-was charged from my SBI A/C No. [protected].Today also while booking the same problem is going on.
                          So, I request you sir please look in to this matter deposit the same amount in my SBI A/C at the earliest.

                            I would like to bring into your kind gesture that I book my e-ticket (Train no.4005, ticket cost, Rs. 776/-, from Varanasi Jn- NDLS) to travel on 11th April'10. but I could not as the train was late for indefinite period of time (till 1.30 am I was on the platform but it did not reach) so ultimately I had to catch another train.
                            on 16th April'10 I filied the TDR for Refund & after exhastive correspondences I could get only 50% refund (Rs. 388/- only) on 17th August'10, while as per rules of Indian Railways (reflecting on the Website) if the train is delayed for more than 3 hrs. then the passenger is eligible to get a refund of 100% of the ticket cost (in my case it should have been Rs. 776 in stead of Rs. 388/-). After getting 50% refund again I represented the case & till now no action could take place.
                            My concern is; if the rules are so clearly spelled out then why there is inordinate delay and the refund amount is not as per the rules. in spite of several requests my concern could not be properly addressed.
                            therefore I would take liberty to request you to kindly look into the matter to expedite the process to save our energy, time and mistrust on the system.
                            I am sure this is the right form to share our problems and to get viable solutions.

                            I wish to bring into your kind concern that I booked my E-ticket to travel from Varanasi (BSB) to New Delhi (NDLS) for 11th April ’10 (Ticket appended). But unfortunately the train was delayed for indefinite period of time. So ultimately I took another ticket for Garib Rath as I was told on the reservation counter that it’s departure is at 7.30 pm. Regarding cancellation, I was told, as mentioned in the E-ticket, that it can only be done through website. Unfortunately the second train (Garib Rath) also started after six hours from the scheduled departure time and I reached home in the evening of 12th April’10 and due to unusual delay I could not reach to my workplace.
                            On 13th April’10 when I tried to cancel the ticket it could not be done by giving reason that chart was prepared. But it is illogical as it is very obvious that when I did not change my journey plan & I had to come back by the same train then obviously I would not cancel the ticket. Since the train was delayed and till 2.00 am (till I was on the Railway Platform) it did not arrive then what was the option left for me, who was carrying E-Ticket.
                            Therefore I would request you to kindly look into the matter & reimburse the total ticket as mental agony and inconvenience cannot be compensated.

                            M/S Indian Railways Catering — Request for refund of process charge as the ticket was not issued.

                            Dear Sir,

                            In reference to my earlier letter dated the 10th Oct'08 regarding trnsaction made on my credit Card No. [protected] at Indian Railways Catering for Rs.1606.32 on 13.09.08, I would like to draw your kind attention that the IRTC had communicated me through e-mail that the ticket could not be processed due to some technical difficulties. So, I made a complain with the ICICI credit Card Department for debiting my account against that ticket for an amount of Rs.1606.32. Consequently your Deptt. had credited the disputed amount which had been reflected also in the next statement. But unfortunately in the last statement dated the 29 Dec'08 once again the same amount of Rs.1606.32 has been credited to my account under the heading Charge back debit.

                            Under the circumstances stated above may I ask you, why the amount has been credited inspite of the fact that the ticket
                            could not be processed and delivered to me?

                            I shall be highly obliged if you would look into the matter and do the needful by reversing the credited amount.

                                  It is very disgusting to have verification code to be entered while booking Tatkal ticket in IRCTC website. The site already hangs between 8:00 to 9:00 and still to further increase the public chaos they have introduced verification code to be entered. The site was previously hanging till the BETA site came up. Instead of increasing the speed the authorities have further slowed down the process.

                                  The pathetic state of the site is if Verification Code loads the calendar control does not load and u cant enter it through textbox and vice versa happens. Let the authorities close this website for public and open for Agents alone so everyone could buy tatkal tickets from Agents

                                      The website irctc.co.in for booking railway tickets is very very slow. it get's hanged most of the times and the transaction fails. But the amount will be deducted even though the seats are not booked.

                                      Please rectify this problem soon. It takes hours to book a ticket!!

                                      I am using 2 Mbps speed broadband connection. But except irctc.co.in website, any other website browsing very fast. When I browsing irctc.co.in website for booking a ticket or status anything it is get much time, it is very very slow.

                                      IRCTC — POOR SPEED OF WEBSITE

                                      this is patethic site to book rail tickets,very very slow and always server fail when payments are made ,

                                      why dont indian railways upgrade the website so that speed can be improvedm,

                                      average time taken for 1 ticket booking is minimum half n hour and you are lucky if you are finally able to get a ticket without any hick ups

                                      IRCTC doesnt work. All the time site seems to be so slow. Sometimes amount is deducted however no ticket booked. Its really disgusted. you have to keep trying and spend hours to book the ticket.
                                      I am using IRCTC for booking tickets. up to six months before the web site was worked properly and as fast as other sites. But after comments from public and media that most of the peoples booking through net, the IRCTC got fear and they have reduced the speed and efficiency of their server i hope so. Usually the IRCTC has to stop the Travel Agency booking and fraudulent behavior of the Railway Staff in booking the takkal tickets. They wont do that. because they need MONEY as other General Public mentality. We dont want to waste time and energy. So totally corrupted.
                                      IRCTC'S WEB SERVICE IS WORSE.PLEASE SHUTDOWN YOUR SERVICES
                                      IRCTC booking site is too slow, its very difficult for who is booking from IRCTC.Due to slow site ticket cannot be booked but money deduct from account. Please take it serious bcos its problem for normal people who maintaining small amount in Account.
                                      IRCTC is using only 7 servers to maintain millions o[censored]sers... What else we can expect from them. Shame on IRCTC management.

                                        Today (12/10/2010) I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on 2281 BBS DURONTO EXP from BBS to NDLS boarding on 17/10/2010 from BBS . Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI ATM CUM DEBIT CARD paid in two times tried payment gateway, the repeated error found like,
                                        "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon... " came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and neither the ticket is generated.

                                        This is really embarrassing situation and IRCTC is expected to help me at the earliest with the ticket if the payment is already confirmed at their end. Kindly refund the deducted amount in my SBI account .

                                        I tried booking it 5-times. At the fifth time the transaction was successful. But unfortunately for all the five times the amount has been debited from my CITIBANK Credit Card account.

                                        I have the credit card statement that shows the amount debited from my credit card account.
                                        I dont think we could reach people on customer care on IRCTC. So far I have made several calls to those numbers but I am unable to reach them.

                                        As per the mail from irctc that below mention ticket has got wrong amount of refund and surprised that there are no credit for remaining Refunds and also which are not yet credited in my account even now after months time.

                                        as the cancellation was done on 13- Apr-2008 for the ticket of 26-May-2008 it's a months time and IRCTC not showing any courtesy to give single replay for the Query science in mean time unless and until i was fortunately able to talk to customer care center nos which nos are always busy.

                                        more over after even so many days been passed they are not able to tell me when will complain will get resolved and neither the name of the supervisor / officer who will be handling refund issue. ("we are not allowed to tell you the name.) kindly send us the mail with you query and bank statement of the refund you got. the repaly is very disappointed as was never expected from the services like IRCTC even after so many days of follow up emails.

                                        On 06/05/2009 I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on 2531 GKP LJN INTRCIT from Gorakhpur to Badshanagar boarding on 07/05/2009 for RAVEENDRA PRATAP SINGH MALE 40 Years of age Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI ATM cum DEBIT card payment gateway, the error, "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon... came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and neither the ticket is generated.The money ( Rs 101.00 ) has already been debited from my SBI acc.but i have not received ticket confirmation

                                        I tried to purchase a ticket from IRCTC web site on January 17, 2010 from New Delhi to Siwan on Sampoorn Kranti Express for travel on February 11, 2010. My transaction got aborted without purchase due to communication problems between IRCTC web server and Citi Bank server. However to my astonishment, I saw the bank debit transaction was completed and the money got debited. I called the customer service desk of IRCTC in Chennai. The person who answered the phone told me that there was an error on the bank side. I called Citi Bank customer service, they told me it is Railway problem. Then I sent emails to both organizations and waiting for their resolution. This was my first attempt to purchase ticket on line with IRCTC and probably it might be last.

                                        Both Charged Amonts are Rs 3399 and Rs. 3300.
                                        I booked an iticket via hsbc credit card. The transaction was successful in the first attempt. However when I checked the hsbc credit card statement it showed that I had been charged twice for the same ticket. There is no record of this money anywhere in the failed transaction or refund in the irctc website. Luckily the amount was only of 170 which was doubled.
                                        IRCTC is not helpful. Seems like my money is gone. I will have to think twice before using this service for costlier tickets.

                                        when i make query about the train root, i came to know that this particular train does not through this route.

                                        The service of irctc is really bad, If the concerned people could not handle the load or could not make the error free site or atlease robust sites then I do not think why these people are in business. You can not get an excuse for blaming the server load and all those things everytime, you should think why you are using the oldest technology for these. As a software engineer I can suggest you some technology that can make you excel in your business.
                                        Really it is painful to do a reservation on your made sit. shame on you.
                                        If you are making a site like this then you should not treat it like a college project. But it seems you people are still at that level only.

                                        I have tried to book a ticket from Bargarh road to Bhubaneswar through IRCTC on 26th August. I tried 2 times but the transaction was not processed at all due to server issues. Unfortunately, the amount has been debited twice into my credit card account. The charges are reversed only once. Is there any escalation procedure by which I can get my refund back? I have the credit card statement that shows the amount debited and I have the booked ticket list which doesn't show these transactions. I dont think we could reach people on customer care on IRCTC. So far I have made 10 calls to those numbers but I am unable to reach them. whats the fastest way to get the refund back? My transaction ID is [protected] and train No. is 18302.                                         IRCTC — IRCTC server down - Request for full refund

                                        Hello Madam/Sir,


                                        I booked a ticket in III AC to travel on September 22, 2011 by Konark express. On the early hours of Septermber 22, 2011, I planned to cancel my ticket which is on status W/L 2. As the IRCTC server was down on that day, I contacted the IRCTC customer care and informed the same and requested them to cancel my ticket. On their advice, I sent a mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in to cancel my ticket and refund the full amount for the follwing reasons.

                                        * The server was down since morning, which did not allow me to cancel my e-ticket
                                        * I have sent a mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in around 12 noon to cancel my ticket, at which time my ticket was still on Wait List status

                                        But, my ticket was not cancelled by the IRCRC authorities. So, I had to file a TDR and mentioning the same reasons. At the same time, I followed up with IRCTC customer care via mails and calls. They assured to look into it and the needful and provided me a Reference no. 1873645.

                                        But, today on Septemer 30, 2011, I got the refund of Rs. 332/- for not travelling. As my ticket was on W/L status at the time my request for cancelltion, I would have got my full amount if the IRCTC server was working. Why should I incur the loss when the IRCTC server was down.

                                        I was trying to book a train from NJP to SEALDAH, but after making the payment using my SBI debit card, the session expired but the money was deducted from my account. While reading the complaints I have noticed that SBI customers are the victims most of the time and have come to the conclusion that this problem occurs many times while using the IRCTC site and also that the authorities don't give a damn...

                                        I booked a ticket in irctc.co.in through CITI payment gateway, the ticked booked successfully and later a week after i cancelled the ticket but the money was not credited in my respective debited account, later i spoke to irctc custmer care and i even sent an email, they replied that the respective amound had been credited into the account and the cancellation status itself also indicating the same i'e Rs 584 refunded in acount but in fact nothing was credited back into acount.later they replied to my email by mentioning the ARN number, "The refund ARN is generated only when the refund is processed from payment gateway (with Visa/ Master gateway), to respective card issuing bank. If it is not reflecting in your statement as given above then please contact your ATM switch center with above ARN no. to get the refund details (pls get your ATM switch center contact detail from your respective card issuing bank)." I dont know how to reach to ATM swith center..

                                        Hi,

                                        I booked my ticket on[protected], for the journey on[protected], but the trains was late by more than three(3) hours, hence I filled TDR Reference No: ekt[protected] and PNR No.[protected], On the same date of my journey.

                                        The ticket fare was Rs.274.00, but IRCTC refunded me only Rs.137.00 on[protected] and as per rule of railways a full amount should be refundable in case of train late by 3hours.

                                        So please do the needfull and refund my remaining amount also.
