I am writing to raise a serious complaint about the poor after-sales service from the LG authorized service center located in Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam.
I purchased an LG refrigerator which came with a 10-year warranty on the compressor. Recently, it developed a cooling issue. The authorized service team inspected the unit and claimed it was a gas leakage problem. I paid around ₹3000 for service and transportation, and they refilled the gas.
However, the same issue reappeared within a short time. When I contacted the service center again, they asked me to bring it to their location. After further inspection, they have now told me they are unable to fix the refrigerator, without offering any refund or replacement — despite the valid warranty on the compressor.
This is highly unprofessional and unethical. The repeated failure and now refusal to service a product still under warranty is unacceptable.
I request LG to:
• Investigate the service center’s handling of this case,
• Provide a free repair or compressor replacement as per the warranty terms, or
• Offer a full refund or unit replacement if the product is unrepairable.
If LG does not resolve this urgently, I will escalate this matter to the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
LG Electronics customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
