We booked 11 rooms with Oyo Rooms at Hotel Karishma, Pune (OYO 11601) with booking Id XHXW7971 and paid the required advance. On the day of check in, the hotel called us to say that this rate is not acceptable to them and they will not allow check in. Calling the OYO helpline was of no use. In the middle of this, we got a call from an unidentified person claiming to be the Area Service Manager of OYO who said he will sort out the issue provided we pay the balance. Assuming this to be genuine, we went ahead and paid the balance amount which was a large sum. After this, the hotel allowed check in but on the checkout date, the hotel said they have not got any payment from OYO. Repeated calls to the Area Service Manager were of no use as the phone was switched off. This seems to be a big scam involving the hotel and OYO.
Calls to the Oyo customer care number were of no use … their employees excuse is that the system is not working and they are not able to check the details.
OYO in India should be shut down immediately for this kind of fraud and poor customer service
