I have 2 vodafone postpaid connections 9xxxxxx810 and 9xxxxxx401. In the monthly bill for Oct and Nov 2014, I have been charged Rs.99/- under an item "download". When I called up the customer care, they said a file has been downloaded named shotformat_dw****** for which Rs.99/- were charged. When I asked them what this file is, they had no idea. They said it could have been a chargeable item which I may have downloaded from a website. However, I did not download anything that was chargeable to my carrier. I have a 3G datapack of 1gb, and my data limit had not exhausted. They don't even know if this file is a song, a game, a software or a video. I do not understand that if they don't know what I have downloaded, how can they charge me? When I told them that it has to be some error in their system, they simply refused. I tried to log a complaint on 198, but they continuously argued with me and did not log any complaint.
This is truly disappointing. My colleagues have been charged 149 and 249 resp. against the same download claim.
If this is the state of affairs then, we would need to escalate this issue and also get our service provider changed.
Vodafone is really losing customer trust coz of these unwanted charges and with the kind of poor response from their CCRs.
