Subject order for a laptop was placed on flipkart and paid for in full using my credit card on 23rd march at 12:55am. Fyi - i had been considering purchase of this product for a few weeks now. Its mrp as listed by flipkart was rs 109, 990. On certain offer days they would drop the price and offer a discount. I completed the above order when i saw a discount of about 50% i. E it was being offered online at rs 54, 990. Also, before i confirmed the payment, flipkart showed me an alert that the delivery schedule had changed from what was shown in the product listing and would be deliver by 29th march. I was required to accept this notification, which i did.
Completed the transaction and immediately received confirmation and at 9am the same day received communication that the order was ready to be shipped and later on at 12pm received confirmation that item had been shipped and would reach me 29th march.
At 5pm on the same day i was informed by email that my order was cancelled by the seller, since the price was displayed incorrectly due to technical issues. And that as a gesture they were crediting my account with rs 500 as a gift card that may be used on flipkart. Also was informed that my payment would be refunded to my credit card only by 27th march.
I contacted their customer service who asked me to try buying the product again. When i checked, the product was shown as 'out of stock'. When i informed them of this, they asked me to choose the 'notify me' option and wait indefinitely for the product to become available again, which doesn't seem reasonable to me.
In good faith, i chose a product as listed by and assured by flipkart and paid its asking price in full.
This could be a case of flipkart overselling items more than the inventory it has, in order to ensure maximum sales. Unfortunately, i feel that i've been a victim of their unfair business practice. It is certainly a case of flipkart not meeting their obligation to me.
Now, i'm being promised a refund 4days after auto cancelling my order. And my credit card will be blocked to the extent of the purchase price till the refund is credited. Although, my preference is to get the product that i had bought.
I don't believe rs 500 is an appropriate compensation for such an unfair practice and inconvenience that i have suffered.
Appreciate any help you can offer.

Flipkart Customer Care's response Customer was complaining that the order was cancelled after it was approved and shipped.
Apologized and informed that the order was cancelled by the seller due to pricing error. Also informed we have provided an E-Gift Voucher of Rs 500 as a token of apology.
Information provided. Closing the case.
