Are you planning to change your ISP? You will find many ISPs in the market. However, don't ever consider Hathway (www.hathway.com), because you will regret. This company was once a good ISP, but now it is a lousy ISP run by liars and cheats.
I have a 512 kbps unlimited plan, but it seems like a 128 kbps plan. Instead of getting a download speed of 50-55 kbps, I get a lousy speed that fluctuates between 10 and 30 kbps on average. Imagine my pain and suffering, as I wait for a file to finish downloading or a video to load.
This company did not have a FUP in the beginning. It was nice, but one fine day, the cheaters just introduced this FUP without even informing me. Even when I renewed the plan, the dogs at the office didn't inform me of this change in their plan. Only on Sundays, can the customer download as much as he/she wants. This pathetic company should at least ensure that the customer gets a good, stable speed. I think about downloading a 200 MB file on a Sunday, and it takes 4 hours to finish when it should technically take only an hour and a half. But I don't get 50+ kbps, only 10-30 kbps.
Even now as I write this complaint out of frustration, I am downloading a file through Mozilla Firefox. What is my speed, you ask? It fluctuates between 8 and 25 kbps when I should be getting at least 40 kbps. A small 50 MB file takes an hour to download. A few months back, I could download 150 MB in an hour because I used to get speeds of 50+ kbps. Hathway has really become terrible in the last few months.
It’s time to move on to another ISP.
hathway internet broadband — unavailability of service more than 12 hours a day
Hathway is one of the most un-professional and low profile broadband service profider. i have been using their services for last 3 months in Mayur Vihar Phase I area and everyday it's common to see service breakdowns.Today is continuously the fourth day when i had no access to the internet for more than 10 hours continuously. i have spend hundreds of rupees calling their call centers but there is no strict action on the recurring problem. I do not even have an option to escala the problem to their management level since CC executives never allow me any such contact information.
Any of the technicians available at the samachar apartment seem to be professional, trained/educated and on duty during even day time. It is my sheer badluck that we don't have Airtel serving in my locality else i would have never gone into traps of this non-sense ISP.
The worst part of it is that Hathway do not even have a power backup solution in place in it's service points where they server so many customers. even if customer have power backup at home he'll loose connection over internet. this is rediculous and they charge bigh money for this service!!!
Now they seek public fund to support their unprofessional work culture and nowhere to go strategy to serve customers. why would i buy a share for them??
