I’ve recently applied for a Personal Loan in HDFC Bank with the terms, requesting for 10 Lakh rupees loan amount & with 2 years paying term, with one of the HDFC Loan representatives. After submitting everything properly, the loan was disbursed with 9.90 Lakh rupees amount and 3 years term (which I didn’t request for).
Without even informing me, the loan was processed for 3 years term, not even asked for my permission to go with 3 years term, which is purely for the sake of representative’s personal achievements and to get more incentives by end of the month/year.
Then, I’ve requested for cancellation of the loan, for which I’ve spent almost 4.30 hours in the bank with a loss of close to INR 11, 000/- in just one day.
The amount was disbursed on 24th March 2018, which is Saturday and was credited on 26th March 2018 12:00 PM (which is Monday), with INR 9, 90, 687/- in my Salary account (which is a bank holiday). I’ve realized this immediately after getting the (disbursed) approval and started reaching the representatives through calls, after some time they’ve stopped answering my calls from Saturday evening (26th March). Then, I’ve contacted Customer Care & they’ve asked me to come next day morning which is Tuesday (27th March 2018).
For just 1 day, after crediting the amount in my salary account, and to close the loan (which I didn’t ask for), the bank asked for a check amount of INR 10, 01, 506/-.
I really don’t know whom to reach in this situation & silently paid my price without wasting much time (If I waste even a second more, I’ll have to pay interest for that also.), If this is the case with an educated person, I couldn’t imagine the case with an illiterate person.
I’ve called the representative after submitting the closing application in Begumpet branch, asking for the agreement scanned copy & Disbursal brochure. There’s no response from them.
