I made payment of my electric bill from my S/B account on 8/7 2012.I did not get any confirmation of payment nor is my account debited off of the amount.The Besant Nagar Indian Bank Branch refuses to answer any phone calls.My online complaint (ID[protected] has also gone unanswered.This is the bank with the most pathetic staff and worst customer service.These guys should not ever attempt a net banking service as they don't know how to handle it.

    I have requested for ONLINE banking facility . Got the LOGIN access but no transaction password was given to me. i have been walking on every week for almost 3 months but there simple response is " If you get the sms you wil be getting your password " for that too i said i havent got any and they asked me wait for another week for the sms to come. I dont understand what workaround is going on without knowing what the system is . Even the Manager not considered ,thats the big frustration

      I went this morning to enquire about educational loan, manager of nungambakkam branch was not willing to help me the details.He shouted at me using filthy words in front of so many people around.I was very polite and asked what kind of documents are required as this is the first time i am requiring educational loan.He did not answer any of my questions rather he said that "I am wasting his time".In short, he is not fit to be a manager and his response to customer was ridiculous.I am completely hurt by his behaviour in front of so many people around.Kindly request you to take necessary action against him so that the customer do not face such difficulties in future which also spoils the impression of the bank.Thank you

        Whenever i go to the bank to get my mother's passbook entered, i find laziness in staffs working there, they lack seriousness in their job, it takes around one hour to get the passbook entered with just 5 or 6 people standing in front of me in the queue. If this complaint resolved it would help the public to help the organisation work better and in keeping up the prestige and good name of INDIAN BANK.

          I retired from central government service on 31/7/2011. While realeasing my gratuity, the government withheld 10% which need jto released automatically after six months i.e. 1/2/2012 in case thereare no claim from the Pension sanctioning authority. Despite my jpersonal visits to the bank more than 10 times the bank auathorities are adamant and not crediting the amount of 10% of withheld grauity. I have over tlequoted their Head office circular No. CRA/191/ dt. 23/2/12 over telephone on 2/4/12.
          My earlier complaints to Customer complaints cell has not yielded positive response. Please advise me whether I can file a FIR with police station. Please indicate the IPC/CPC section for refusal of duties as a public servant to perform legitimate duties and harassment of lpublic (Customer). You can understand my mental agony for the last 60 days. What should be my claim where should I lodge it. Please reply at once.

            I am facing many inconveniences with my branch. I have listed few of them below,

            1. When I waiting on queue to do any transaction (like deposit, withdrawal, passbook entry), the banking officials giving priority to some people(they may be VIP customers) who was not waited in queue.

            2. When I trying to put Demand Drafts for collection, they have kept the cheque aside on anybody's table for longtime till to get remainder from me.

            3. I found that minimum account balance required to open Net banking is Rs.500(Rupees Five Hundred only) from Bank’s website. But my bank’s Senior Manager says that minimum account balance must be Rs. 5000 (Rupees Five Thousand only). For this reason I am unable to open Net banking even I am having account for the past 8 years.

            I want to know why the bank’s officials handling their customers badly like this? If I go to Senior Manager to make complaint, he trying to compromise me. As a customer, don't I have rights make complaints like this?

            I am an educational person to ask about my customer rights with the bank. But many of the account holders of this branch are uneducated persons (farmer, fishermen, etc). How they can able to manage problems like this? I didn't make any complaints regarding the above terms till today.

            But, now I wish to make complaint about a special kind. I am working in Chennai, Tamilnadu. When I am in chennai, my father made passbook entry for my account on 14.03.2012. On that entry he found a larger amount as my account balance, then told me to check myaccount balance, use that amount if I need. I went to my nearest ATM and checked it. My account doesn’t have that account balance which my father told.

            For this reason, I went to my hometown (Kodiyakkarai) on last saturday (17.03.2012). I have checked my passbook entry. I found some overwritten printings on it. It means, the banking official put entry on a page which has been printed already.
            I am unable to take this problem as easy. I went to my branch and asked the branch's Senior Manager about the overwritten entry on my pass book .He told AS USUAL that I will cross this wrong entry and put new entry on a new page, he tried to compromise me. I told him that I didn't come here to correct this mistake, I want to know HOW,WHY this may happen in a fully computerized bank which have well qualified officials. I told him that I will make complaint about this branch. He doesn’t bother my talk. He did not give proper respect to me. Then our conversation continued around 15mins. Finally he told that, "You may go anywhere, make complaint with anybody, etc".

            I am not an Indian citizen, bank customer, educational person if I didn’t proceed further after his words like this.

            1. My elder brother who was with me during my conversation with the bank Senior Manager.
            2. Recorded Audio file of our conversation(on 17.03.2012).
            3. Wrongly printed passbook

              I got credit card of Indian Bank.Since June 2011 bank neither had send me statements nor minimum amount credited from my actt. I made many complaints personally,by mail n my a letter sent on 22/2/2012 by RPAD.Till the date no response is given by bank n they are only sending sms for payment.I had paid actual purchased amount n requested to waive penalty charges as it was delayed by bank.It is on part of bank to send me statements by post n by mail. But bank is ignoring complaint made by me.

                  I receive pension from the army as my husband passed away while on active duty. Recently, the pension officers at T nagar chennai branch have started to harass me asking me indecent and personal questions. The bank has been just ordered to disburse pension amount to my account and not snoop or sneak up on my life. Very upset to say one of the officers was a woman. They will pay for all this in some way or the other in this lifetime of theirs.

                    Dear sir, I am B.K.Dinkar, I often got sms on my vodafone mobile number [protected] from Indian Bank if any transaction is done. Though I dont have any Indian Bank Account. Today I got a sms- "Indian Bank- weekend info: Balance in your a/c XXXXXX6643 as on 25/02/2012 : Total Bal. Rs.1 CR, Clear Bal Rs.1 CR." I have not registered my mobile number for any internet banking. So please take necessory actions to stop any unwanted sms on my mobile number. Thanks.

                      Dear All,

                      I have a Indian bank global classic Credit card and am absolutely appalled by the kind of service Indian bank offers for its credit cards.

                      1. The customer care center numbers at the back of credit card[protected]/1321, no body ever answers.
                      2. The All India toll free no.[protected]Number does not exist!!)

                      You will always get card statements either 1 day before the payment is due or sometimes even after the due date has passed. It is impossible to pay this card on time and avoid late fine charges. To make matters worse, you get no one to talk to to solve your problems.

                      So my advice to everyone, STAY AWAY from Indian Bank Credit Cards.

                          i have tranferred 1825 rupees from al rajhi bank saudi arabia with acc. no.[protected] to my old acc. no. 16151 you have recieved a cheque from icici bank chennai on 3 august 2005 with d.d. no. 469264 . i have complained manier times but only one answer is given `we will check,we are not having some information as the acc. no. is so old` it is a humble request that somebody should look after it and take decisions to satisfy the customers.

                            Sub: wrong deduction of 10000 rs for indian bank a/c no[protected]

                            Sir,
                            With your humble permission i want to state few lines for your consideration and favourable action.

                            1. I am an saving bank a/c holder with indian bank (A/c no.[protected].

                            2. On 07 july 2011, around 9:00 pm, i used pnb atm at new friends colony new delhi (Atm id-n 1150900 & seq. No. 0252) to withdraw an amount. But when i enter the pin then there was no response on screen then i cancelled the transaction. At 9:23 pm i got a message on my mobile that your account has been debited a sum of 10000 rs.

                            3. I have already made a complaint with indian bank through cust. Care and submitted a written application to my indian bank branch on[protected].

                            4. On date[protected] they said that your application has been rejected, contact punjab national bank.

                            5. On date[protected] i re-complained through application to our branch.

                            6. On date[protected] manager has logged a complain. On date[protected] manage said to me that your application has been rejected again.

                            7. Sir please tell me why my application/complain has been rejected.

                            8. Sir my request to you is that kindly short out the matter as soon as possible so that i can avail my valuable money which is very much needed by me. I am a student you cannot imagine how i will manage this loss.

                            Give complaint in writing and obtain receipt thereof. In your complaint your should the transaction id or narration provided in account satatement of your bank. Slam RTI application asking the bank to as to what action it has taken against your complaint. While framing questions to be put before the bank, consult advocate/lawyer. You can demand logsheet of erring ATM from PNB through RTI which will clearly indicate failed transaction. As per RBI guidelines your Indian Bank is supposed to give you compensation of Rs 100 per day beyond 12th day of complaint.

                              Hi there,

                              Last week my wife withdrew 7,000Rs from Indian bank, Indirapuram ATM.
                              To her bad fortune she got two 1000 rupee notes in very bad
                              condition(mutilated, torn). When she told this to me I assured her
                              that this has happened to me in the past with Karnataka bank and they
                              took the notes back. ATM was not dispencing the printed receipt (this
                              is a common case in this ATM) but I was not worried over this.

                              Now when she went to report this to the bank real humiliation and
                              harrasment of her life began. The bad treatment by at least 5-6
                              employees(including branch manager ...he was after all the boss and
                              displayed his "bossiness" in bad treatment as well). They exchanged
                              these staements:

                              - 1 person - You go to your bank(her acc is with ICICI) and ask them
                              to fix this. Interesting part is: ATM belongs to Indian Bank and we
                              have to go to ICICI and ask them to give us correct notes. The
                              illogical part can be seen even by a novice.

                              - 2 person - We don't put bad notes in ATM and you are lieing. We
                              don't trust you.

                              - 3 person - When she said you can check bank transaction and match
                              it. Answer: we don't have such details and our ATM always
                              dispense printed receipt (I've never heard such a lie in my life,
                              number of times I used this ATM without receipts).

                              - 4 person - If there is no receipt you could have checked your notes
                              before CCTV camera so that it would be visible there . I can't stop
                              laughing at this,.. there should be some limit of nonsense these
                              people utter. A log queue awaiting outside ATM and we are searching
                              CCTV camera and then counting notes....

                              - 5 person - These things happen in life, just accept it and forget it

                              - Manager - My wife asked what would you do if this happens to you in
                              your withdrawl that all notes are either fake or mutilated? Answer -
                              I'll simply forget it and go my way.

                              - When she said she will complain about this? Manager's answer - Go
                              whereever you can go and complain. We simply don't trust your case.

                              After all this she felt like these people were talking to a "Chor", a
                              lier... Such humiliation by people who put these statement in their
                              policy:

                              I was shocked to see just the opposite of policy statements here(joke
                              of the millenium):

                              - Customers be treated fairly at all times <--- See above how the
                              good the treatment was? and inline with this policy.

                              - Bank employees must work in good faith and without prejudice to the
                              interests of the
                              customer. .<---- Predudice? all bank employees statement confirms this.

                              - Complaints raised by customers are dealt with courtesy and on time
                              <---- Yes. They dealt with the complain on time by
                              just refuting the complain itself.

                              - Customers are fully informed of avenues to escalate their
                              complaints/ grievances <----- Yes they informed that go to some other
                              bank to get the replaced notes even if it was our ATM that did the
                              whole "".

                              - Bank will treat all complaints efficiently and fairly as they can
                              damage the bank’s
                              reputation and business if handled otherwise. <------- I've not done
                              this yet, but surely will post this to help other people also not to
                              deal with this bank, wherever I can. I know though this is not a
                              fully private bank and thats why they are "don't care" people.


                              This is just a matter of 2K and I could have agreed to the great
                              manager's comment "forget it" but it was such a harassment that we
                              need to post this and at least appraise the guys sitting on top of
                              these people so that they can take any action, of course, if they have
                              any respect for their customers and feel business also need some
                              ethics.

                                Sub: Unethical,uninformed debit in my Bank A/c

                                I am A/c Holder at Indian Bank, Branch- Aruvikkara, Trivandrum, Kerala. I availed Housing loan of Rs. 1,50,000 ,
                                IBHL No;[protected] on 27.04.2005. SB A/c No :[protected] opened on 21.11.1988

                                While remitting EMI of Rs. 7500 ( due up to June- 2011) on 19.05.2011, at Indian Bank, Pattom, Trivandrum, I was surprised to see
                                two debit entries (Rs.490/-) in my pass book.

                                On clarification ( in the passbook entries made manually are not readable, may be deliberately) I was told that Rs. 190 towards
                                EC and Rs. 300 for title verification were debited. I was never informed of such charges and such a charge ( Rs.300) was not there
                                prior to this since 2005.

                                As per my enquiry, it came to my notice that this charge was a new one decided by Indian Bank. I wish to content that such a
                                charge can be debited only for new loans from the date of such decision. Rather charging on existing old loans is objectionable
                                and unreasonable.
                                If bank wanted to do, it can be at their cost. The terms and conditions agreed upon (rather enforced upon me by bank) at the time
                                of applying (year 2005) for loan shall not be changed by the bank as per their whims and fancy.

                                Further, I came to know that, many other banks also decided to make such a verification, but only on new loans



                                My complaint Dated 21.05.2011, to Indian Bank was not acknowledged nor attended properly. In a vague reply
                                from Indian Bank, Br.Aruvikkara, I was informed that recovery towards document verification was as per instruction from
                                their of Zonal Officefice, no other clarification was there on the matter.( Copies attached)

                                Hence I wish to approach this forum to get justice and remedial measures.

                                1. The amount recovered from me in an unethical way may be refunded to me.
                                2. Interest charged on my loan from registering my complaint may be waived by the bank pending decision on my
                                Grievance
                                3. Appropriate penalty on Bank for causing me trouble and unwarrenred constraint. I was treated bdaly by the bank though
                                I am an old client ,opened my A/c in 1988 , which adds to my agony.

                                  I had to withdraw Rs.5000 from the Indian Bank ATM at Beltola (S1AB0771)Guwahati on 20.8.11,accordingly I punched the machine for the sum but while dispensing the machine dispensed only Rs 4000, whereas transaction slip showed debit of Rs 5000 from my account.I submitted a formal complaint to my Home Branch of my bank(Indian Bank,Beltola,Guwahati) on 22.8.11 but to no effect.Then I submitted another online complaint with the bank vide registration no.INET 27291796 dt.3.9.11 but no response received form the bank till date.Therefore, request your intervention for redressal of my greivance at earliest.

                                    Dear Sir/Madam,

                                    I am Hariramprasath, working in an private organization. I have availed the education loan from Indian bank Srirangam branch. Recently my father has passed away and so my mother went to bank to ask about the details for loan account name transfer. My mother was keen to ask about any concession in loan amount ( just in a curiosity to reduce my family burden) and she asked the bank manager is there any way for this. I swear that she is not aware of any formalities in bank. Even she is not sure that is there is any way for loan concession. The bank manager has told her to come on other day to fill two forms. (Not mentioning anything about the loan concession!!)

                                    My mom went today with a joy that there may be some way to obtain the loan concession. She went to the same bank manager and told her about the conversation that they had on the other day. The bank manager has made herself clear that there is not any loan concession in this situation.

                                    The fact that I am coming to emphasize here is the way of communicating the message to the customer by The Bank Manager. She is not polite in her words.

                                    Her words towards my mother was "How can you think o[censored]sing others money and not repaying it?. Is there any faithfulness by doing like this?!. Just sign the papers for the name transfer and go. We can't help you with this request."

                                    I accept. Her words are true. But the way of communication might be somewhat pleasant, so that my mother would also not be hurted.

                                    The worst way of her communication with the customer is coming now.

                                    I felt bad about my mother's stage. So I personally went to bank and spoke with the manager. My words are "Dear mam, please speak pleasantly to the customer. My mom was hurted with your words. She doesn't know anything about these facts. So please take care of your words with the customers like this. This is my suggestion."

                                    Do you know how she reacted?!!..

                                    "You don't teach me!!.. There is no way for me to hear your words!!.. I know about how to deal with customer and you are not a teacher to teach me. We don't want your suggestions from customers like you. YOU JUST MAKE YOUR WAY OUT!"

                                    I felt very bad with her words. Our family is using Indian bank for transaction for more than a decade. Is this the right way to treat the customer suggestion?!. Is there any way to file a complain about her nature of communication with the customer?!. I know as a normal citizen, surely I couldn't make any move to file a complain against the people like this. I have posted a feedback forum in Indian bank website and I am damn sure, there won't be any effect for this.

                                    This is the stage for the family who are educated. If it is so think about the uneducated families. And there is many family whom i know personally suffered a lot with the words from persons like this. And all of them are forced to accept this forever.

                                    When this situation is going to change!!. When these people will get to know how to treat the customer!!

                                        sir,
                                        i am an employee Annamalai University.
                                        In Chidambaram, indian bank have six branches are 1 chidambaram southcar street 2. chidambaram kasukadai street 3. Annamalainagar 4. Usupoor 5 keerapalyam 6. bhuvangri. our Annamalinagar branch around 1000 employees have saving a/c. in chidambaram and annmalainagart only 2 ATMs (machines) only available and these are not working most of time and we go to use other banks ATMs. we are suffer not able to get mony in indian bank ATM and loss mony for using other bank ATMs. Hence, provide atleest 4 ATMs in chidambaram and provide suficent mony all time in machine ( In Chidambaram indian bank ATM was stand always no mony or out of order) Note: The HDFC bank have only one branch at chidambaram and provide 4 ATM machines iin chidambaram.
