I had planned my travel plan from Mumbai-Ahmadabad-Delhi-Mumbai. Un-fortunatey the train from A'bad to Delhi got delay more than 4 hours. when took opinion of the agent, he suggested me to cancel the tickets at the station window, to my surprise they did not accept the cancelation stating being i-ticket, which have to cancelled online and my agent could not cancel the ticket online and hence filed TDR. i was not aware what TDR means and was informed that the refund would take 60 days and the money would be refunded once i reach back Mumbai. When inquired with the agent he refunded my Dehi-Mumbai ticket money (delayed by 10 days giving excuses that there was some baning problem with his railway account). I just ignored as far as i received the money back. but rather i have not received the refund of A'bad-Delhi. have called irctc call center several times and been receiving only one answer that the case is under process as it is already approved by the accounts. it will take min 60 days and we are not aware of max how many days / months / years i have to wait to receive the refund. when went back to the agent, he just use slang language and recommends me to openly do anyting i want and he will not refund the money. wondering wheather should i go to cops and file a complaint or complain to irctc for agent mis-behaviour to pull-back his licence.

I had booked a TATKAL ticket (PNR Number: *[protected])* on 26 June 2014 for journey form Pune to Deoria for 3 passangers. After chart
preparation only one passanger got seat and other 2 passanger had WL. Hence only one passanger travelled and during journey he got TDR certificate form TTE on same day. However, just after chart prepartion I filed TDR and by mistake the reason *"Party Partially Confirmed/Waitlisted And All Passengers Did Not Travel." *was selected inplace of *Party Partially Confirmed/Waitlisted And ***Party Partially* Travel."*
As a proof that only one passanger travelled i send the original certiifcate obtained from TTE by email and by speed post (EM[protected]IN) on 16 Sep 2014 to Shri AK Vats Sr.Executive/Refunds/IRCTC on his demand on following address

I have filed the following complaint on [protected]@irctc.co.in and [protected]@irctc.co.in on 14th November, 26th November and 26th December 2014. But I did not get any response on this. I have also called the irctc customer care several time and subsequently called on the numbers given be customer care executive but still no body resolves my query.
I request you to consider my case.

I request you to reopen my case No. [protected]. Details are as follows. I
had filed a TDR for my ticket Ahmedabad to Mumbai Duranto with PNR No.
[protected] on 29 October 2014 itself along with the cancelation of
ticket after the chart was prepared but before the departure of the
train. Me and my husband who was coming to drop me to the station met
with an accident on my way to Kalupur Station, Ahmedabad on 29th October
2014 night and I could not board the train on 29th October. But today I
am surprised to get an email
from your office which states as follows. "With
reference to refund against PNR Number [protected] with reason
Passenger Not Travelled., it is advised that Railway has introduced
Enhanced Coaching Refund System (ECRS), through which e- ticket refund
cases against which TDRs are filed are directly registered and
transferred to the concerned Chief Commercial Manager/Refunds. Your
refund was dealt and regretted by Chief Commercial Manager/Refunds WR
under case No. [protected] with reason, As per chart, passenger has travelled ."When
I called the customer care executive I was asked to submit the proof
that I did not travelled in that train. In that accident I did not get
any major injury got the tratment done at home itself but my husband's
right soulder was badly hurt and had a hairline fracture in coller bone
and ligament tear of right soulder for which I have the doctor's
prescription. I am also a
research scholar at NITIE, Mumbai and I was suppose meet my guide on
30th october. After my accident I also wrote a mail to my guide for
informing that I will not be able to meet him on 30th October. I also
put that as a proof for that I did not travel on 29th October. booked both the tickets together on 24th October and cancelled together
as I could not travel to
Mumbai. Sir,
I expect that you will take the strict and necessary action to look in
to the matter and will help me by correcting this TDR process. I am sure
you will help me to get my money refund and will also take a strict

    Hi,
    This is Udayakumar Pandurangan. I have booked tickets for my parents (who are not that very educated) from Tuticorin (TN) to Bangalore (SBC) for journey on 21/Mar/2009 on Mysore Express. My dad was is the main passenger forgot to carry the Original copy of ID card. Though he didn't have the original copy, he had the duplicate of the Drivring License, PAN card etc.

    When that TTR (who behaved little rude and arrogant) wanted to check the tickets he produced the same and also produced the duplicate of the different ID cards he had. I agree that we should have carried the original ID card. But that TTR behaved rudely and demanded Rs.1026 (double the actual ticket fare for 2), which is totally insane. I need to know if this is the correct fine amount. I need to know if this is real way to behave with my parents who are totally tried to convince that it was a mistake and will carry it next time. I read in the tickets that even if you don't carry the actual ticket itself you you will be fined only Rs.50 per head

    I paid Rs.520 for booking the tickets (online) and my parents paid a fine of Rs.1026. So totally we have paid up ~Rs.1600 (which is totally insance). I NEED JUSTICE and I need to be charged only what I should be charged. Also the TTR who has pained my parents and caused mental torture to them should be punished. So I need to escalate this issue, as well as I need to get back my money if he has charged wrongly.

    Individual Senior Citizen — Printing of e-tickets

    I booked the following tickets as under Chennai to Srirangam for journey commencing on 23/03/2009 by Pallavan Express AC Chair car. Confirmation e-mail from IRCTC not received but amount has been debited to my SBI Netbanking account Ref: IGO5497407 for Rs 241 on 2/2/2009. Conirmation e-mail required for this transaction

    Tiruchy to Chennai for journey commencing on 26/03/2009 by I AC by Rockfort Express. Confirmation e-mail received.
    In both cases I am not able to see the booked tickets list or history of booked tickets on the left hand side of the web page where only animated ads ffor booking cabs or hotels is seen. How do I get the tickets printed?
    Why they need original id.. photo copy not enough??? Though we paid for ticket, If we didnot bring the original ids, , we are treated like a ppl travelling without ticketts... stupid rules..

    I went thru a similar experience in the same train. I really dont understand the rationale, why they insist on Original ID card. Who will bear the brunt if the Original ID card is lost in transit. And everybody knows how to reproduce any lost document with Government of India !!!

    Even though, we cannot bent the rule, it would be great, if Indian Railway could consider the plea and revamp these rules.

    One more question, why they dont ask for Original ID card for the ticket booked directly in the counter ? and why only e-ticket is undergoing this punitive treatment ?

    I would like to hightight about almost 10 months back i had booked ticket towards Managalore from yeswanthpur station and to my bad luck Train got cancelled no refund towards this still bad luck continued, went around no response even share necessary details, file TDR no response towards this.

    I also had similar experience on 15th Dec 09 and had to pay double ticket charge for not carrying original ID Card. Also TT refused to pay money back even after i showed him my original PAN card which I got later from my bag. Also one important point here is that the TT is very friendly to those people who dont have ticket or waiting list tickets (potential for bribes??) and allowing them to travel.

    I want railway to consider the following suggetions to make this more passenger friedly.

    1. Introduce a process for refunding this money to passenger after they showed their original ID card later. It can be arranged either in FROM or TO station.

    2. Provide the option for adding ID card details in the IRCTC site itself (this option was there earlier and recently removed) so that it will be printed in the ticket and can be verified even with photocopy of ID card.

    why do they demand id, i dont think it would help, it would help only TTR to fetch for their own money. Its very easy for really a bad person to make a fake id. Person they caught without id are always innocent enough to produce fake id.
    i would like to know what will be the fine if passanger is not carring age proof in case of senior citizen
    I do not paid any fine even i don't have any ID proof on 13-10-10 but TT argued with me for one hour .Really if passeger looks innocient why they are behaving such way.Its very bad. They are treating like terriorist/thiefs. TT dn't have manarce and they don't have any ethics.

    Hi,
    This is Raghav, I booked a TATKAL TICKET from a railway station ticket counter to travel from HYDERABAD DECCAN to MUMBAI CST in SLEEPER CLASS dated on 20/01/2013 which was a waiting list(49). As all my original ID Proof's are at my residence(Mumbai) i failed to produce original ID to the TTR for which he charged Rs:350/- towards fine. My TATKAL Ticket costs of Rs: 398/- and the fine i paid is Rs:350/-.
    As my ticket was not confirmed and i didn't get a berth i was sitting at a corner in SL Coach, TTR charged Rs:350/- as fine and even the passengers who are travelling without any ticket has charged the same. Then why should i book a ticket from railway ticket counter instead i can directly get into the train and pay the fine to TTR, so that i can save the ticket fare Rs:398/-
    And the main point here is to remember, TTR having a limitation of collecting fine of Rs:1, 50, 000/- per month. So to achieve his targets he is troubling the people who are travelling with a valied ticket. This is not at all a fare part towards the IRCTC.
    I request you to make some changes in your TERMS AND CONDITIONS so that a normal passenger wont suffer at the time of journey.
    Note:
    Please allow the passengers to travel when they produce their XEROX copy of ID proof. Most of them will not carry their original ID Proof for the fear of loosing/Theft of their wallets.
    Also the TTR's should not trouble the passengers to reach their Target's(Rs:1, 50, 000/- per month)

      hello sir,
      i hv booked ticket for 3 on 16 march 2009 from vadodara to pune.. journey dated 5-june-2009
      i cliked on the pay option . but it is showing some error message... this is the third time am suffering this problem due to the negligence of railway department and faulty website.. i request u to take strict action against them...

        I have booked a ticket for 15-March-09 for following passengers:
        1: Saurabh Maurya
        2: Gaurav Maurya
        3: Nikhil Maurya

        Since I made my journey 3 days ago, I want to cancel ticket for 'Saurabh Maurya'. I have tried it on Saturday and Sunday (15-Mar-09) through IRCTC website but communication failure message was appearing.

        Kindly cancel the ticket only for 'Saurabh Maurya'. Journey will be performed for 'Gaurav Maurya' and 'Nikhil Maurya'.

          I am not being able to understand whats does "Settlement Requested " this mean?
          Is that mean that IRCTC is trying to debit the SBI bank card (which i used for the Payement) the fund was not able to transfer. or something else?
          Please confirm me the same as i need to know wethear the ticket has been booked or not or i need to book it again..etc
          sir just now i have booked the ticket from krishnarajpuram to chennai central twice but i was unable to book ticket, and my money has been deducted from my account...so plz refund my money

            Hi Sir,
            I was making payment through my ADHRA BANK debit card for booking my tickets but something went wrong and now my ANDHRA BANK account is showing that the payment has been made but tickets were not booked. kindly look into the matter and resolve the issue as soon as possible

              i booked a ticket from the site irctc.co.in on the date 22th feb. 2009. the ticket was from NGP to ROU(PNR no.-[protected])
              The amount that should have been deducted is Rs. 1257. but they deducted the double amount. that means i paid double the cost of the ticket. at first i thought that it is a mistake and the extra amount will be added in my account within some days but it hasn't happenned yet.

              1. one ticket was from vijayanagarm to Dhupguri(dqg) pnr no: [protected], amount to be deducted is Rs. 1329 but it deducted thribles amount ie 1329*3= 3987Rs that means i paid thrible the cost

              2. another was from Dhupguri(dqg) to Howrah jn(hwh) pr no: [protected], the amount to be deducted is Rs. 1067 but it deducted double the amount ie., 1067*2= 2134Rs that means i paid double the cost

                  i have login on IRCTC.CO.IN for my reservation from lucknow to bareiily in Lucknow mail for date09/03/2009, the amount of RS.169 is deducted from my account but reservation reservation latter is not recieved from irctc, and they send me that mail against my reservation request,

                      I was booking train ticket on 25-2-09 using IRCTC site. I use atm debit card of SBI.
                      After booking ticket, the make payment screen, i entered my SBI card number and pin etc, and pressed the pay button, nothing happaned. The website hanged. The ticket did not get booked. Then I tried booking again, the procedure completer. Today, when i went to ATM and got "mini statement, Two withdrawals of Rs.1372 have been done on my account! I only booked one ticket. I checked the previously booked tickets on the site to see if two tickets, but There is only one ticket. I need to get the extra Rs.1372 back, Please help as soon as possible. I am a student studying at IIT Madras. 152 Jamuna Hostel.

                        Sub: Need to report the misbehavior of a Railway Squad. When I was reporting the incident to the station master I came to know that more complaints have registered for the same staff before.

                        Some details for references:
                        The complaint number which I have given at kollam railway station: 355900
                        My e-ticket PNR number: [protected]
                        Train Number: 2695
                        Receipt number of the fine charged: AA 459172 (only to identify the staff)

                        Mistake happened from my side:-
                        On 06-Feb-2009 I was traveling from Chennai to kollam. I was failed to produce the identity card in original as mentioned in the eticket. I had only attested copies of identity card with me that time. And I’m very much agreeing that I am supposed to pay the fine as per the railway rule. However the way the squad behaved with me is really harsh and unkind as described below.


                        Complaint:-
                        1. Since the incident happened at around 5.00 AM early morning I couldn’t realize exactly what is going on around me when the squad is grabbed my purse and took some money from my purse and gave me a receipt of Rs. 731 which I am really supposed to pay as I was failed to produce the identity card in original as mentioned in the eticket. However here my complaint is How come a railway employee is permitted to take money from passengers purse without their permission?

                        2. Since I was shocked of his harsh behavior to me, I am not able to check how much money he has taken from my purse and later I could guess more money has been missed from my purse. I would like to know how much money he has taken from my purse exactly. How can I confirm this?

                        3. After taking money from my purse he has thrown the purse to the middle birth and gave me the receipt and disappeared. That time, even I got a thought, probably he is not a railway employee instead I was cheated by somebody else.


                        Another thing which I would like to notice is the transaction ID which is in the eticket is system generated now a days. I wonder when the squad asked me at first about the Identity card with the same auto generated ID. Is he not educated by the railway authority about the latest happenings?

                        And I am still thankful to railway, as it has some set of good employees except the very few like the one here.

                        However, I couldn’t understand if there is any progress (probably no value) for the complaint I have given to the station manager at kollam. Not sure?

                        I am not going to gain anything because of this complaint and personally I don’t expect anything. Still I find sometime for this because I want others shouldn’t get a bitter experience like this and not to spoil the goodwill of this big organization.

                        This sort of employees are really shame for other Railway employees and even to Indian Railway which is considered as the largest rail network in Asia and the worlds second largest under one management.

                        The receipt number would help the authorities to find the person. I’m looking forward for a better response and eager to know what Railway can do on this.

                        That staff is a robbbbbbbbbbbbbber from irctc...
                        I too had the similar experience. I was roughed up by the railway MMTS squad for travelling without a ticket on the platform while walking towards the ticket counter. I have put my complaint in writing in the complaint register at the station masters office. The public grievance page on the SCR webpage makes its clear that complaints written in the book are dealt with and a reply is sent to the complainant in 10 days and is usually stuck to the back of the page in the complaint book in the register. I made a mistake and paid for it but never expected to be man handled and harassed for that.
                        Your case seems to be of a serious nature. You should pursue it in some local court. You have every right to do so. You have acknowledged to the crime ( In the eyes of the squad) and are done with it.

                        I would like to appeal to all the country men who can read this, have a connection the internet and can efficiently deal with such issues with more ease. First thing is to immediately register your complaint in the register if you are sure that you are correct. Every station has a register and no squad can take you to a police station and keep you there overnight for not being able to pay up the fine amount.

                        Its true that some are breaking the law and need to be strictly dealt with but they also need to consider the circumstances under which the wrong act was committed. They need to educate people and treat citizens with atleast some minimal courtesy. I know that this wont have any impact on the railways but what we do as citizens will definitely bring about a change.
                        i am an advocate at Kannur. On 11..02.010 I went to ticket counter No 1 for two tickets to calicut worth Rs 62/- I had given one hundred rupees with two coins of Rs 1/- each..Immediately the ticket seller asked to give Rs.10/- as change. Time is abvout 6. 40 a.m. I was having no change of Rs. 10/-.I had already given Rs2/- inorder to avoid the coin scarcity. But the ticket seller at Counter No 1 was very much irritated against me and told me to get away from the ticketr counter and approach with Rs 10/- I told him that train arrived at station and cannot get the change as he required. Infuriated by my answer he befgan to irritate and scolded me asking, " are you not coming from your house. why you came here withgout change. Balance wiil be given only ongettingRs.10/-I wsa very much astonished. I was behaved just like a begger. The approach of the ticket seller was very indescent. I am aged 57 years. I felt it very much seriously."

                          Dear Sir,

                          I had booked one railway e-ticket online through my SBI onine account. Details as below:

                          Due to some error while booking ticket money had been debited but ticket (PNR NO) not generated. I talked with IRCTC customer care helpline, they told me to send the copy of bank statement showing the detail of that debited entry. i mailed them scanned copy of bank statement showing that debted entry.

                          Since october, i am in continuous followup with IRCTC and they are only telling that the matter is being taken up with State Bank of India.

                          Please do the needful.

                            I booked through IRCTC a package tour to OOTY from Chennai(2008 Summer). In OOTY we were made to stay in a hotel called OOTY GATE. On the day we stayed there it rained heavily in OOTY and the room we were staying was leaking completely. Our family didn't sleep the whole night. I made a complaint to IRCTC but so far i haven't heard from them. Please avoid that hotel if IRCTC again makes you to stay there.

                                  In reference to above, i had booked my family ticket for our travel from Berhampur to Bangalore, to my surprise when we reached station to board the train, we were informed that train has been re-routed since last couple of months and donot pass through the station.

                                  I had no option but to return and make alternate train arrangements, subsequently i had filled TDR since 16th of Oct and till today i.e 8th of Feb 09 i haven't received my money. When i contact the customer service desk of IRCTC i was told it will take 90 days, but my friend at Railway its already 100 days and morever i was asked to be " Patience". Please note amount of approx 4000 is pending with railways since last 100 days . Can someone in the raliways explain the following;

                                  1) Why the tickets were issued 3 days before, even after knowing the fact the train has been re-routed since last 2 months ?
                                  2) Will railways pay the interest of holding our money for 100 days?
                                  3) Can they teach the customer service desk to be more polite?

                                    I am given to understand that On 19.10. 08 a debit is shown to my a/c of Rs.1334/-(EMI PRINCIPAL-IRCTC, but sir, I have already paid the amount vide ICICI BANK ch.no.502955 for Rs.1300/- still my credit card account was debited thrice on 19.11.08, 19.12.08 & 19.01.09 by an amont of Rs.444=53. Why it is so, most humbly I would like to know how to resolve this matter.

                                    I was holding SBI IRCTC credit card. One day i got a call saying that to activate my card I will be receiving a DD of RS 5200 (approx). Which I can pay back and can also use the card for shopping of more than Rs 500 to get 200 cash back. I said ok.

                                    But after a month also i have not received the DD. and statement for the same was delivered on time at my home with the DD amount added to it which i was supposed to pay before the due date.

                                    so just to check on this mismanagement I called customer care number 39021212. I literally waited for 10 mins - 1hr but nobody is there to attend you personally only IVRS goes on in a loop saying
                                    "We applogies to keep you on hold. We are eager to speak with you kindly hold" But how much one can hold and there is no other number or way to contact and inquiry about one's Query.


                                    Please take some actions agains this as they are making fool us.

                                    SBI IRCTC Credit Card is fraud and useless. Let everyone aware and cautious taking this. While taking a card they tell that on every train ticket that you buy will add points which can be redeemed. The actual fraud behind this is...you need to have around 300 points in your credit Card as well despite your IRCTC points. Here the trick is... Credit Card points will not carry forward from month on month, instead the same will expire end of the month.

                                    Don't apply for credit card on call or through e-mail/Online...Validate the company properly.

                                    The biggest mistake I did applying for this card without validating and just going with the SBI brand.

                                    I had a fraudulent activity on the card and while trying to report that through helpline, No Help.

                                    Even writing an e-mail to them is of no use. Now if I want to cancel the card finding the option very difficult.

                                      With all the respect and love for our Railways, I regret to inform you that the Berth Allotment in online booking is totally illogical. When I bought a ticket PNR:[protected]) of two person, one lady of 60 yrs and one man of 63 yrs (under senior citizen quota), they both were allotted UPPER BERTH. This is absolutely inhuman and I would rather say total negligence on the part of IRCTC. I have also tried to book at least one ticket for LOWER BERTH but failed.
                                      So I would like to request all concerned person / department, to kindly take a look into this matter and save hundreds of senior citizens from mental and physical turmoil.

                                      Sub : Complaint against my reservation PNR No. B[protected] & B[protected]


                                      We were coming back from Lalitpur to Kanpur with my family by Pushpak Express Train No. 2534 on 27.01.2009 vide my reservation ticket in sleeper class under PNR No B[protected] for three(3) birth RL WL/30, 31, 32 & other PNR No. B[protected] for one (1) birth RL WL/74 thus upto the last movement from journey start our reservation status under waiting list on 27.01.2009 .

                                      With reference to the above, we entered in the train in schedule time 12:40 AM to start journey in sleeper class S-12 coach the coach was full. We request to TT on duty to provide any birth to us but he say he has no birth, we again contacted to TT at Jhansi to check Jhansi Cota and release us birth against my reservation if possible but he again say sorry as he had no birth after half (1/2) an hour approx 3:00 AM in mid night we again approach to same TT on duty than he provide me only two (2) birth No.39, 40 in S-7 Coach from Orai photo copy of the same ticket is enclosed for your perusal on which he has noted birth No. 39 & 40 in S-7 in his own writing. while more birth are available in Orai station. When we came to S-7 coach from S-12 coach in Orai station and saw the TT on duty have verbally allotted two birth to other persons in same coach birth No. 32 & 49 after taking Rs.150/ for each birth without any receipt and not provide any birth to us while we ware entitled for allotment on priority, you can understand at Midnight we have faced a lot of problems during the journey with my family.


                                      Kindly Look in to the matter and take appropriate action against the said TT on duty, we shall feel oblige if you can take immediate action in the above matter and inform us about the same.

                                      TRAI — Illogical

                                      TRAI has limited the number of messeges to be sent per day to 100, which is just not enough for the people who have been habituated of chatting with friends relatives collogues etc for work except urgent works or which cant be discussed while chatting. lot many of personall chatting is also done through msgs everyday. there are many such students boys and gals who msgs more then even 150 per day on an average.
                                      the purpose of TRAI can be ven solved by providing a service to users of BLOCKING. person who is disturbed irritated by a number or a promotion camp , he just can simple use that service and in few mins, msgs from those number will be barred. this way there will be no issues what so ever regarding the matter for which limits have be applied. there can be a much much better way without even annoying geniun users. nothing cant be best than that is it creates no prob for any user and solutions to users having problem.
                                      his is injustice and death to democracy! My money, my choice! Who is TRAI to put a block? Tomorrow they will block the minutes of calling also on some pretext. Now does the government decide how much we communicate with each other?
