Hello,

On 18/06/2009 I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on Falaknuma Express (Train No. 2704) from Secunderabad to Howrah boarding on 16/07/2009 in my name Raihan Hazarika. Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI ATM cum DEBIT card payment gateway, the error, "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon...⇄ came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and also the ticket was not generated.The money ( Rs 1207 ) has already been deducted from my SBI account but i have not received ticket confirmation.

I request IRCTC to help me at the earliest with the ticket . If not, the same amount may please be refunded.

Yes i agree with u and i was cheated in same manner and they sent me Lawyers notice for the recovery and next time they might send gondaas.
This happened with me also but the money was credited back to my account after 10 days. meanwhile you can also check the booked ticket history. I am using IRCTC since last 3 years and this kind of problem happened several times but money was credited to my account after around a week

I advice to have patience. If your ticket is not in booked history then you can rebook.

On 20/07/2009 I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on Ernakulam Express (Train No. 2677) from Bangalore to Ernakulam boarding on 29/08/2009 in my name Rakesh. Unfortunately after the payment was made through Syndicate ATM cum DEBIT card payment gateway, the ticket was not generated.The money ( Rs 401 ) has already been deducted from my Syndicate bank account but i have not received ticket confirmation.

    I m a user of ictct i have an account on irctc web site from a long time. i book many ticket without any problem. but from last a month on my account page booked ticket history, tds details etc. not shown by irctc. so i m confuse about this,

    This is regarding cancellation of ticket via irctc, irctc claiming money been refunded but till date the money havent credited into my pnb account, its been a month. Pnb call centre doent care to answre the quiries and blames the irctc. this is frustarting .

    this is really happening in pnb, as i am also facing the same problem.i booked a ticked from kingfisher after some days on 2aug2010 i cancelled the ticket, but the money is not ye been credited in my account..kingfisher says that the money is refunded but it is not reflecting in my account...

      During my last trip to Pune, I booked cab through IRCTC online services. I was told while booking I would receive SMS on cab details and chauffeur phone number. I requested for 11:45AM pick up from Pune air-port, since my flight was scheuduled arrival of 11:30AM. Even after landing till 12:30 I did not get any sms or call from any body.
      Then I called IRCTC, it took nearly 10 minutes to make the customer service person to understand about my issue. Finally around 1:00pm I got call from transporter carzonerent saying he would send his taxi by next half an hour.
      I was forced to wait around 2 hours without any reason. My day plan was completely spoiled by that delay.
      I will not utilise this service hence forth. Dear friends be careful while using this services.

        I have been using this service for years now, but today I have witnessed this much casual approach frmo IRCTC end, that I felt posting this complaint early ni the morning at 5:15 AM.
        Earlier I had booked tickets at 5 in the morninig .Today i wanted to book tickets for[protected], so i logon to irctc at 4:58 AM .For 2 mins, site was showing me booking timings from 5 Am to 11:30 PM, but the moment server got back after 5 AM, at the time of finding my trains, a new mesg window pooped out telling me that booking can only be done after 8:00 Hrs.Now this is what i call as casual approach.First they change booking timings and then they dont even consider displaying it to consumers.They dont even consider stop displaying the OLD TIMINGS...

        I HAVE UPLOADED TWO SCREENSHOTS .1ST SHOWS LOGIN TIMINGS DISPLAYED ON IRCTC(i.e from 5 AM Onwards) AND 2ND SHOWS BOOKING TIMINGS FROM 8 AM ONWARDS, when I was trying to book tickets using my brothers ID.

        .

        For people out there who still beleive booking timings are from 5 AM to 11:30 PM, dont get fooled by wrong mesg displayed on your IRCTC screen.In actual, it wil allow you to book ticket from 8AM onwards Only.

        What you have said is true to some extent. The train ticket booking timings is from 5am to 11:30 pm. This is only booking for normal tickets. if you have to book a ticket a ticket under tatkal scheme, then you have to wait till 8am. Though is not mentioned anywhere in the site. i am using the site from last three years and i have enough experience booking under tatkal scheme.
        Irctc should correct its website and mention that etickets can be booked only after 8:am and tatkal iTickets are not possible because of new 2 days limit on it
        Booking (I-ticket and E-ticket ) is allowed from 5.00 to 23.30 Hours
        (Indian Standard Time) on all days including Sundays.
        Greenwich Mean Time 23.30 and 18.00 Hours

        Cancellation of E-ticket is allowed from 5.00 to 23.30 Hours
        (Indian Standard Time) on all days including Sundays
        (before chart preparation of the train).
        Greenwich Mean Time 23.30 and 18.00 Hours

        The above message is wrong and some people are unnecessarily waiting upto 5am to book under TATKAL. You should mention except TATKAL. otherwise it has become a miscommunication. please correct it.
        All commitments made by IRCTC's seem to be fake as while E-Ticket booking it shows quick book cannot be possible between 8:00 - 9:00 AM.
        Again it has opened gates for vendors / agents / brokers.

          I am Nithya V working in pune.

          I am hoping you will help me. I was cheated by someone.

          Someone have booked railway ticket using my bank account (through my internet banking account)

          I need to find that person. So i have sent a detailed mail to IRCTC about this. I called IRCTC delhi but they said it is not possible to find it.

          My opinion is, that person should have booked the ticket through IRCTC only. With the booking date and transaction details they can find the person name and journey details.

          IRCTC refused to investigate it.

          I need your intervention in finding out the culprit.

            I would like to describe a difficulty in the e-ticket reservation. At sometimes the authorized agents misspell the name of the passengers in e-ticket, Tatkal. In such cases there is no possibility to change or correct the name of the passenger. Previously, a identity proof number had to be provided for e-ticket, with which we can atleast prove the correct passenger name though the passenger name is wrongly typed while booking the ticket. But now the identity number need not be provided. Hence in this case, if the name is wrongly typed, there is no means to change the name.

            When the Chief Reservation Supervisor of important stations are authorized by Railway Administration to permit the change of name of a passenger having a seat or berth reserved in his name in the following circumstances namely:-

            Where the passenger makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train that the reservation made in his name may be transferred to another member of his family, meaning, Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife., why cant the name that is mistakenly typed could be corrected ?

            This is a great difficulty among passengers in e-ticket booking and almost many passengers feel that a clear and flexible rule has to be implemented in case of e-ticket. If there is a rule to correct the name of the passenger in e-ticket passenger, it would be much helpful.

            My daughter and her husband while trying to get into unreserved compartment at the banglore city station with the valid open ticket to come to chennai, train No; 12658. Two person standing by the unreserved coach demanded Rs 60 per person to get into the unreserved compartment she says RPF was also standing next to them where keeping their mouth shut when she asked them (RPF) they just ignored her. I would like to know is there any railway rule like this...

              invalid user name & password

              sir,
              i booked a ticket on 3rd june 2009 with a user name & password in the irctc websight. but today when i am trying to logging into this websight its mentioning my user name or password invalid. when i went through the forgot password option & gave the answer of the question i have selected its showing an incorrect answer alert.
              i really need to access my acount having the same user namr & password....

              The new scheme of tatkal tickets is doing no help in reservation of tickets for common person like me. First the tickets are sold within minutes after opening of tatkal 5 days earlier. What is point in keeping the scheme for five days if the tickets are going to be sold in just few hours? I wanted to book the tickets for Jodhpur to Pune for 9th of jun. But as soon as its 8 o'clock, the irctc site shows service unavailable due to traffic on website I guess, and till the time I submit my data it was already WL-09.This is today’s incident. All this from 8:00 am to 8:05 am. Most of the tickets are booked by agents and common man is left with no tickets.
              Secondly, the fair for the whole distance of the train becomes too much for those travelling only a part of the whole distance. This is unfair but even when we are ready to pay that we have no assurance of getting a ticket. This system is encouraging corruption and is becoming a pain for people like me.

                I have cancelled my e-ticket after confirming from your website that the train arriving to GUWAHATI has been cancelled so my train (GUWAHAT TO OKHA) has also been cancelled because the same train is going back from GUWAHATI to OKHA on 9-06-08. In view of above I have cancelled my e ticket but to my surprise Rs 141/- is deducted as cancellation charges .For cancelled train no amount is deducted as per rule and after confirmation from your website, I have cancelled my ticket. FULL REFUND IS NOT MADE.

                I know that, it is a very difficult task to get back the money from railway. You will always prove yourself right showing many technicalities but fact of matter is that train was cancelled and I should get my legitimate full refund. You cannot say your website is fraud. I have taken all informations from your web and cancelled the ticket.

                Kindly, look into the matter and correct the system mistake & refund the balance amount as early as possible.

                The copies of the late running tag / cancellation tag of train & cancelled ticket are given below and in attachment for your reference. In canceled ticket Rs.141/- is shown as cash deducted .These copies were taken prior to cancellation of ticket from railway website.

                i am employee of Sahaj basudha kendra, Asarganj, maine aaj ek bhagalpur se delhi ka ticket kaata galti se ticket dobara ban gaya yani do do baar ek hi aadmi ka ticket ban gaya main ek ticket cancel karna chahta hu par sahaj ke website se woh cancle nahi ho raha hai kya woh ticket kahi aur se cancle ho sakta hai agar haan to woh website bataye aur ye bhi bataye ki kaun se link par click karne ke baad ticket cancle ho sakta hai
                I have tried to book two tickets from IRCTC today (16th June) and turned down. Reasons unknown. But Rs 1567 has been debited twice from my ICICI credit card. Request to refund it and let me know why my card was turned down.

                Railways — website is not built as expected

                Have booked rail ticket online but website didnt display form as to be filled in branch , hence 'reserved till station' field was missing. Charged till destination station instead and customer care also didnt help to find out exact station code for intermediate stations. Pathetic Service. The e-ticket vide PNR No.[protected] & Transaction ID: [protected] booked on 15.10.14 as e-ticket from BBS to MAS and could not be cancelled as it is a premium train.There was no intimation from the IRCTC through print or electronic media that the train will be cancelled on 17.10.14.Since the running of the train has been cancelled the e-ticket referred to above ought to have been cancelled automatically. But the ticket fare amounting to Rs6990/- excluding other charges has not so far been refunded by the IRCTC.

                  I cancelled my tickets on 8dec 2008 because train was running late by more then 6 hrs. now it has been more then 6 months intially it was showing admin approved now on 13th may 2009 its showing 223-NR/6 As per records Passenger(s) travelled on the ticket. The case is repudiated. When I will get my refund.

                  Hi,

                  Recently I tried booking a tatkal e-ticket from TIRUPATI (TPTY) to YESVANTPUR JN (YPR) in HWH YPR EXP (2863).
                  It didn't allow me to book the ticket and gave the error "Booking Not Permitted. Try Some other Train/Class".
                  Tried in both 3AC and SL. When Clicked on Fare--> it showed the Net Amount as 332 Rs.
                  But when clicked on availability it showed "Not Available". But the seats were available.

                  As it didn't allow me to book, I tried Selecting the Source and destination of the train i.e HWH-->YPR
                  and Boarding point as TPTY. Now It did allow me to book the ticket.
                  But to my surprise the Fare charged per person was 632 Rs (almost double the fare amount shown).

                  The Total amount charged for the booking was 2528 Rs. (632 * 4).
                  It should have actually been 1328 Rs. (332 * 4)

                  I have attached the screen shots for your better understanding.

                  Requesting you to look into the situation and consider for the amount to be refunded back. (1200 Rs.)

                  And I really wish you to take care of such situations in near future.
                  I always had a good experience with irctc in resolving the issues that I faced till now.

                  A flat refund of 25% of total fare charged on ticket, excluding Tatkal Charges is granted on cancellation of confirmed Tatkal tickets, which are cancelled up to 24 hrs. before the schedule departure of train. No refund on confirmed Tatkal tickets when cancelled within 24 hrs.of the schedule departure of train. For contingent cancellation & waitlisted Tatkal ticket cancellations, charges will be deducted as per existing Railway rules.
                  Hence no refund will be granted in this case. We deeply regret for the inconvenience caused to you in this regard.

                  sir i wanted to know whether there is any option or not to take the duplicate of the thatkal ticket as i lost it. if it is possible please let me know the details including the procedure and the amount to be paid. i would be thankful to u i[censored] can give me answer and i would be extremely happy as it is a matter of losing 3000 rupees.
                  IRCTC is trying to make people pay more for Tatkal tickets. I could see that the tatkal ticket quota is enabled even if there are 100 tickets available in general quota.This is definitely misleading the user while booking tickets online. Users generally book tickets in a hurry during morning times as the site is very very slow between 10:00 to 12:00

                  Site should not open tatkal quota before filling the tickets under general category. At Least a warning message should be available in the site if the tickets are available in general quota

                  Kindly do necessary changes in the site

                    Pathetic Service

                    Whenever I try booking tickets on IRCTC in tatkal quota, the website doesn't open up and even if it does, I am unable to book tickets because of the immense load on the website.

                    By the time the website opens up, no tickets are available anymore. This is due to the strong "agent" network that is functional throughout the country.

                    Some steps must be taken to stop these agents from taking away all...

                    I and my brother in law booked tickets using irctc portal from Kottayam - Samalkot and Samalkot - Visakhapatnam for dt.[protected] and[protected] by special trains 0743 and 748B but 0743 which from Quilon - Samalkot was delayed by 7 hours and the connecting train which we've catch was missed by us due to the late running of 0743 special train. So after coming to Visakhapatnam I've filed TDR online through IRCTC requeted for the cancellation of tickets and refund the amount on Dt.[protected] and till now I've not received any amount for the above said transaction and there is no response for the mails I've sent to them. So I request you kindly look in to this matter and see that justice is done to me in a proper way.

                      no booking of tatkal tickets

                      this is regarding booking of tatkal tickets.It is being noticed that tatkal tickets for busy routes such as mumbai, delhi are not booked frequently on this web site.this facility is blocked between 8am -9am till all takal tickets are filled and after 9am only wait list tatkal tickets are made avaliable.this way cheating is done with the valuable customers which is not justified.it appears that this is intentionally being done...

                        I booked a ticket from Tata to Howrah in Barbil Janshatbdi for 27th.My first transaction was shown invalid due to server failure.Next one was ok.But Money has been deducted from by SBI account for both the transaction, the valid as well as the invalid.Please do something about it.

                          TDR for the same was filed on 3rd june 2010, since the above train no. 8006 was cancelled for the said date.

                          I am sorry to say that i have not yet received the refund for the same, please update me regarding the status for the same.

                              Through this letter I want to bring to your kind attention, the blatant flouting of the norms by the IRCTC approved “Rail Aahar” vendors on most of the railway stations. One such intolerable incident was experienced by me at Bhopal Railway Station while I was travelling from Gwalior to Mumbai on 0132 AGC CSTM Super Special Express on 19th May 2009 (PRN No. [protected]). It was around 2315 hrs, when the train arrived at Bhopal RS. In search of Soft Drinks, I approached one “Tirupati Associates” on PF no. 1 near to the Digital Clock and Cold Water Point and asked for a 500ml pet bottle of Limca. Instead of the printed MRP of Rs.20/-, he asked for Rs.25 from me for the same. I argued with him that why is he charging Rs.5/- extra despite the display on his shop mentioning that “Packed items are sold in MRP prices”. He countered that Rs.5/- is against the cooling charge of the soft drinks. I asked him for his vendor licence no. and threatened him of complaining such menace to the IRCTC authorities, but he did not budge and neither provided me his licence no. He fearlessly exclaimed that all the vendors of Bhopal RS charge the same amount and so does he. Such types of practices are being continuously carried out on many Railway Stations, mainly with respect to Soft Drinks, Mineral Water and Ice-Cream kind of stuffs.
                              It is my humble request to you to take proper and strict action towards such vendors, who violate and ruin the common law and equity. I also suggest improving and enforcing certain strict guidelines to curb this out and impose heavy penalty to the offenders.

                              IRCTC stall at station — extra charge on mrp

                              i am harsh maurya, i had reservation ticket of sleeper class on 17th of octber 10.
                              s6 /66 birth.
                              at katni staion i saw 2 /3 stall of irctc they are selling mineral water @15 rs.and they have written on prise list only 12 rs per bottle.i ask to shopkeer that you have written 12 rs then why are u asking for more. he saw me attitude.

                              Railway Station Vendor Items — Complaint regarding selling of packed price above the market Price in Railway Station.

                              I am a final year student of IIT Kharagpur, so need to travel once every month to home by train. I have noticed that the vendor present at railway station charge more than the market price. Cost of IRCTC coffee is Rs 7 instead of Rs 5 that we get outside. Similarly packed item ie Britania Cake is charges Rs 30 which has MRP of Rs 28. Like this every item which we buy is charged more.

                              On concern with public issue the government must take action regarding this. At station people have no other option to buy with other vendors, so they are free to charge whatever they feel. Please look into this matter because of this poor & middle class family suffer a lot.

                              I think if vendors levy little extra charges (Rs 1 or 2) for cooling, its reasonable because they pay for electricity/ice blocks for cooling which is not free. Unless Govt. makes it clear that MRP includes cooling charges, I won't fuzz over the little extra charges. After all cooling is added value to softdrinks/bottled water so it's ok if vendors charges little extra for that. Its my personal opinion, I am open for other ideas.
                              There is amount deduct in our HDFC Bank account no- [protected] Saving account-sarangpurbranch Reference no-[protected] Rs. 900/- + Rs.11/- but e-Ticket is not issued by IRCTC on Dt-29/12/2011.Narration no- [protected]
