I had reservation on 11/6/09 by 2314 having PNR no.[protected] fron New Dehli to Sealdah. Due to certain emergent reason I deboarded the train at DGP. The same was informed to catering staff including manager in advance. I wanted at least one breakfast for my son before deboarding which was conveyed to the concerned staff but I was refused. I may be informed whether I was entitled to have my quota or not.

    Sir/Madam

    I booked a e-ticket on 01-apr-09. PNR No. of the ticket is [protected]. Journey date of the ticket is 20.04.09. I cancelled the ticket on 13.04.09. I received an e-mail from IRCTC citing refund of Rs. 2786/- to my account on 15.04.09 at 12.00 am. But when I checked my account the amount was not credited to my account. I contacted my banker SBI enquiring about the refunded money but they told no money received from IRCTC.

    Then I wrote e-mail to IRCTC complaining non-refund of money against cancellation of ticket. They informed me that the money refunded to my a/c vide settlement id.[protected].

    When I wrote e-mail again, they asked me to submit my account statement which I did but no response came from IRCTC.

    Then I called their help line no.[protected] few times. Every time they asked me the details regarding the ticket & told they forwarded my complaint to higher authority.

    But they did not let me speak to their higher authority to whom my case was referred.

    IRCTC — non refund of cancellation ticket

    i had booked an i-ticket for 4 passengers viz.
    NAMES AGE STATUS

    i got the ticket cancelled on 5-10-08 and the cancellation ticket no. is 91321279 but i have still not got the cash refund of Rs.6600/-credited to the credit card.

    i booked a ticket from Vijayawada to Chennai on 26 jan`2010 and my journey date was 28jan`2010.
    but on the day 28 the train was late more then 8 hours. so, i catch some buses and came to chennai.

    I file a TDR on 29th jan`2010, and waiting for my refund amount. now more then a month over, still the status is in process. when the process will get finish and when i get my money.

    i called and ask railway customer care, but no replay from them.

    kindly look into this mater and do the needful.

    I booked a e-ticket on 28th July10. PNR No. of the ticket is [protected]. Journey date of the ticket is 9/08/10. I tried to cancelled the ticket on 8/08/10.But chart was prepared ticket was not cancelled then I send an e-mail to IRCTC citing to cancel and refund the amount to my account But when I checked my account the amount was not credited to my account. I contacted my banker SBI enquiring about the refunded money but they told no money received from IRCTC.

    I had booked ticket through OSS account on 03/07/10 date of journey 05/07/10, I have cancelled the ticket on 05/07/10 due to train running late by 8hrs due to Bharat Bandh. Against this ticket I recieved half amount of Rs.824 and rest of the amount till date I had not recieved. Several time I contact to irctc through mail. Once I even called to you office and I got replied that amount will be refunded by OSS. then I contacted OSS of this matter and they replied that if the train running late then the amount will be refunded half of the ticket total amount.     I booked a e-ticket on 6th Oct 10. PNR No. of the ticket is [protected]. Journey date of the ticket is 23/10/10. I tried to cancelled the ticket on 08/10/10.Ticket was not cancelled but refund aganst cancellation not yet credited to my account.     I wish to bring to your notice that two tickets were cancelled by me but till date the amount is not refunded the PNR no and amount of both the tickets are as follows:-

      Booked etickect to travel on 13 Feb 09 but unfortunately train missed by 5 minute.
      Filed a TDR to calim refund.
      Earlier status for TDR shown was Admin approved but now it is showing regret.
      Reason provided for regret is travelled on tiket.
      What identity used to verify the passenger who travelled on the same ticket for which I claimed TDR refund agaisnt reason Passenger not travelled?
      Travelled by bus to the destination and can prove for the said trael in counsumer court if refund no rpovide in a week.
      Raising a complaint in consumer court for the same issue if no reply within 4days.
      Its a one of the way of increasing railway profitability by refusing refund.
      Irctc is 100% efficient in colleting money but 100% failure in paying refund.
      I have booked through tickets in online and it failed to finish the process and my ticket have not booked. Money has been debited from my account through the transaction ID [protected] and[protected] respectively. There were two tickets have not been booked. As i know that the IRCTC use to refund the amount within 2-4 working days, i am waiting for the past 1 week and still the amount has not been credited to my account.         during booking of the e-ticket of railway reservation from nagpur to to delhi for 16 august on 23 june but due to some tech. problem page has been expired and my money is debited from my account of state bank of india acc. no.[protected]. but ticket is not booked.plese refund my money.

          Sir/Madam,
          I don't know whether there would be any action taken on this plea of mine, but this is a genuine plea on behalf of me not getting confirmed ticket on 29 june 2009 trying to book it on 24 june 2009 .There were 48 available seats on the tatkal quota of the AC 3 tier when I booked my ticket.And when I finished booking there were 9 available . And even though there were tickets available I was handed over a waiting list of 13 and the stupid waiting list started from 19 which cannot be possible as mine is a tatkal and the tatkal quota starts on 24th for 29th before which ticket cannot be booked.I know money will be returned to me as I dont get the confirmation but is this the way of treating the customers.PLease do something in regard to this.

            Hi,

            I have booked the ticket via IRCTC from Khammam to Kochin, And the train is delayed by more than 3 hrs (around 7hrs delay), with the reason I have requested irctc to file the TDR for refund of full amount.

            And after waiting for so many months I have received information from IRCTC, there is refund of amount of rupees 1388 (which is near by half amount).

            Please help me in getting the solution for the full amount. This is pednig from so many months almost one year.

              Hi,

              While I was trying to book a Tatkal eTicket from Chennai to Tuticorin (for 23rd June 2009 travel) on 18th June 2009, I was getting compilation error displayed in the screen, because of which I tried booking tickets 5 times and the same error was thrown. I was thinking that booking has not been done since error was thrown in the confirmation page. In order to confirm this, I tried looking at my booking history where I was shocked to see that all 5 times ticket have been booked and confirmed too. I have then immediately cancelled 4 of my eTickets. When I contacted IRCTC to refund the complete amount for cancelled eTickets, Rs.442 * 4 (Rs 1768), they have confirmed to return only Rs.70 per ticket. This is clearly because of the compilation error in IRCTC.co.in site and I would need complete refund. Please help

              irctc site always goes down while booking a tatkal ticket i m trying to log in from last 45 min but browser shows service not available. Page is distorted. no use of such site. it is time waisting better is u go to station and book there.

              but i am pretty sure that this site must be working for ticket agents and dalals...

              solution is to upgrade ur systems and bandwidth which irctc will never do. god save public...
              I also faced similar problem today morning for about one and a half hour while trying to book the takal ticket for my son by train Trivendrum Rajdhani for 16.10.2009 from Manglore junction to nizamuddin railway station. This is an harresment to the railway passengers. I think it is being done purposefully to benifit Dalals and concerned railway employees.

              If CBSE can provide Secondary examination result with approximate hit rate one lack per minutes, why railways fails to do it.

              There is an urgent need to be looked by our railway minister.

              When is this going to be fixed - I'm sure there's nothing behind this but corruption. Information Technology was supposed to eliminate middleman, corruption, make a common man's busy life much easier & reduce paying off to agents/middleman. But it is not happening.

              I'm writing this at 8.51 am on 10/23/2009 after going through this same terrible experience 4th time. I was quite happy when online reservation system came in a few years back as I hate to pay agents & stand in long queues fighting with filthy agents in railway reservation office.

              My first experience booking a tatkal e-ticket was bad. I was ready at 8.00 am at the correct date from the date of journey but even till 8.15 am when I was trying to book it gave me a message "you can only book after 8.00am" WHAT"S WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM!!! it doesn't read time correctly!!! - computers can't do this mistake but people in the system can make this happen - WHY???

              After this I had similar experiences & I thought as the system is new, probably the management is still supporting the agents :-)

              I started going again to the reservation counter for any tatkal booking for which I had to be there at the counter at 6.00am to ascertain that I may get a confirmed ticket.

              Day before yesterday (10/22/2009, after almost a year) I tried tatkal booking again thinking that the issues I faced earlier would have been fixed in a years time "at the least". BUT NO… - after filling up the - "Plan my travel page" when I clicked on "go" it again said - "you can only book after 8.00am" & the time was 8.03am. I tried logging in again clearing browser's cache & trying different browsers - IE, Chrome & Mozilla. I kept getting the same message till 8.15am & then it got even better - "Service Unavailable".

              Today what happened is just too much - right from 8.00 am till 9.00 am I kept getting the "service unavailable" message. At 9.00 I was able to log in but when I searched for trains yet again - "service unavailable message". I called the 24x7 customer support 7 times in a row - they heard my problem once (only half of it) as soon as I said 8.00 am & tatkal they hung up. After that they was just picking the phone & putting it on mute - once I got to talk again but they just said "haan, haan haan" & the hung up… then mute again from the next call… PATHETIC!!!

              How can a computer system can say that it is not yet 8.00am when it is well beyond 8.00am - computer's don't do mistakes. It does what we want them to do.

              "Service Unavailable" message is a good camouflage too… WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE BACKGROUND - I GUESS EVERYONE KNOWS & KNOWS IT WELL…
              ANYBODY LISTENING!!!
              Its hell.A very bad service...
              Here is a solution, everyone. I was as frustrated as you are, but I tried this instead and it works every time now.

              If you're using a PC, Windows Vista (or earlier)

              1. Go to "Tools" at top of screen
              2. Click on "Clear recent history" (Ctrl+Shift+Del)
              3. Choose "Everything"
              4. Now click on "Clear now"
              5. Once your cache has been deleted (don't worry about what this means), go back to the IRCTC website and try logging in/booking/printing again. It may work fine, as it does for me every time.

              irctc airline bookings — continuous errors on the site

              the irctc airline booking site is full of errors. It is continuoys giving false messages that my credit card has been rejected. One ticket already got booked with the same credit card at their own site. Thereafter i used net banking and this time though my account got debited , the ticket did not get booked for some error. Nad now they say i will get refund only after 5-6 days. If they have so many bugs in the site why have they started operating it resulting to so much inconvenience to the consumers.

                Corruption in IRCTC - tatkal tickets corruption.

                I was trying to book a tatkal ticket. IRCTC website says that Tatkal tickets can only be booked after 8 AM. So i logged on the site at 8 AM. When i searched my train it showed 81 seats available in tatkal quota. I made the payment quickly but after making the payment my ticket was listed in wailing list 116. This is beyond belief....

                The tatkal scheme provided by railway was for the convenience of people who wants to get the ticket immediately and online reservation was added to it but whenever the tatkal scheme opens, i.e. the first day of the booking for the sixth day the irctc.co.in never opens and when it opens all the tatkal seats are always reserved. It's not a single day problem. The site never opens at 8am as provided in the railway rules and all the agents are responsible for this. The railway officials are benefitting from this and agents at new delhi stations are very much responsible for this.

                Please make sure that site opens and operates from 8am only and the personal profiteering stops. I have suffered a lot due to this problem.

                I totall agree with this. I have also faced the same probelm i.e tatkal the site is not opening and hence

                  Hi,

                  Today myself & wife with(PNR No : [protected]) missed the Seald Rajdhani Express as due reason of not receiving on time proper information for our reservation where it's departure time is 4.40 PM IST.

                  We have booked a Tatkal Reservation for 30-may-2009 trip, our ticket status was listed waiting (no-WL 28 & WL29) till 2pm and again that status was changed to WL22 & WL23 at 3PM on 30th May 2009.

                  We were trying to reach railway inquiry & custmer care for our ticket status for confrimation, but we didn't get the correct information.

                  According to customer care, chart should be prepared before 4 hours before the departure time 4.40 PM IST. Perhaps, CHART was not prepared till 4.10 PM IST and was also showing our reservation status with waiting list no(WL 22 & WL 23). I dont know, why railway system is correcting it's failure for which people are suffering in this type incident. I belive, there might have some communication faillure for this incident but this should be intimated to its customer about the same. So that proper action can have taken.

                  As a common customer, we are staying far long from sealdah railway station, and should recieve proper railway information(e.g., Railway reservation status from correct information system) before minmum 2 hr before the departure time, and unfortunately we came to know our ticket reservation status was confrimed at 4.25 PM IST, for which we were not able to board ourself in train. For this we want proper justice for this railway system failure. We have already booked a complaint(Serial No- 527964) in Sealdah railways system at the same time and not sure, if it would go in proper channel to provide us proper justification.

                  We can finally say, we should have clean and clear railway system which should be visible to every user( from a common man to upper level). We shall ready to suffice proof to higher level if required for verification.

                  Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.
                  I agree with the complainant. The callousness of Railway authorities has been causing a lot of inconvinience to the travellers. There is no professionalism in their working. It is unknown to a common man how reserved in all the get booked so fast and the trains start showing waiting list status 30-40 days before the day of travel. Strangely, you can get confirmed tickets from dalaals at exhorbitant rate just a day before. Doesn't it speak of irresponsibility of railway authorities or is there a nexus between dalaals and railway authorities? It is something that every passenger has the right to know.

                  I also agree with this.. The IRCTC is not at all doing a good job to the comman man. ANother issue is that you wont get refund if the tatkal ticket is canceled with in 24 hours of travel. what the hel. I booked a tatkal which I missed out the date and when i canceled i lost the amount.b, cose the ticket was of same date. What hell they are then doing for WL for tatkal .
                  This is too bad that people wont get confirmed if they want to travel to railway stations with family and then knowing that there ticket is not confimed.
                  We should need a neet and clear service from IRCTC otherwise This is not to be solved.
                  WHO CAN DO THAT CONGRESS, BJP... who is giving permision to sel agents who book tickets bulkly and provide the tickts on the day with same passenger name.. ??

                  Indian Railways — error in reservation chart

                  Refer to my boked ticket PNR no above, wherein I had booked my ticket from Anand to Tatanagar, boarding at Anand. ON my ticket it is clearly mentioned "boarding at Anand". however, when i reached the station Anand, boarded the train, the TTE told me that the chart shows that we have to board at Nagpur. Not only this, we were told that we are travelling illegaly, as we canot board before nagpur. and that the TTE was pointing out that he could charge penalty. We do not kbnow why there is difference between the ticket and the chart. whatever it is , we were the sufferers as we had to get down at Surat station, and arrange for a fresh booking which was available only after two days. we had TWO senior citizen passengers travelling with us.
                  I would strongly urge that the authorities look into the matter and take firm action, and i do anticipate the reply and explanation from the concerned regardign the inconvenence caused to us all.

                  Inefficiency of IRCTC — Non availability of reserved seats

                  With great disappointment I would like to share an unfortunate incident that happened to me and my family.I booked 4 tickets for my family including myself on 9 Feb 2010 (PNR No-[protected]) for travel to Ludhiana on 14 Feb 2010 through Train No 2497/SHANE PUNJAB on internet.We boarded train in the morning at 6.40 am from New Delhi Railway Station and reached with ease to Ludhiana. Same day evening we boarded the same train at 5.25 pm from Ludhiana back to New Delhi (PNR No-[protected]). Even after booking reserved tickets we did not get all seats to sit.The train was already crowded with passengers 90% of whom were not having any reserved seat.There were no.of passengers left behind when train moved who were trying to board the running train due to overcrowding.In the mean while a passenger pulled the chain complaining the same leading to delay.It took almost 2hrs to settle the chaos in a journey of 5 hrs.At 7.40pm,TT visited the compartment with no complaint register.The statement passed on complaining all this was "aap aage se ticket sunday ko book mat karwaye kyunki radha swami beas ki sangat s train me rush hota hai aur is train me unreserved passengers ka chalan nahi hota".Moreover the seat no's were written wt ball pen making it impossible for passengers to track their seats.

                  With no more words to express the disappointment in the service provided by one of the biggest govt undertaking,i hope this would atleast ensure sufficient steps are taken to make only reserved passengers board the train through rigrous checking or fine.

                  I think they should pay back the money if the Passenger is not travelling. They are getting the money from the ppl who are travelling and in case somebody cancel the tickets there is already WL to get the seat then y there is 25% back or no refund. I think except then travelers, Railways should return the entire money.

                  as you might have been aware a huge racket is operating(as per aaj tak news channel) to black the tatkal tickets. charts are not prepared in time, the server crashes in the morning while booking tatkal ticket. after 60 years of independence, we pay super fast charge for trains running at less that 60 km/ hr. india is heading towards what chaos.

It never works for tatkal/early morning booking.Also why these people donot make chart 24 hours in advance for long journey trains so that people know what to do? What the railway minister is doing? I think all ministers, MLAs, MPs AND bureaucrats should be made to travel long distance in general class and in waitng status in sleeper coach in sitting or standing so they will understand the problem. All quota for VIPs should be removed.
                  once my ticket status was WL 1 and I was confident that after chart preparation i will get at RAC but after chart preparation my ticket status remain WL 1. This means mostly quota is booked by back door. Railway government should do something to avoid this.

                  We have booked a Tatkal Reservation for 7am 25-june-2011 trip, our ticket status was listed waiting (no-WL 87ck& WL88ck) till 8pm and again that status was changed to WL68 & WL69 at 7.44PM on th 24june 2011.

                  Pathetic services of the IRCTC website as it never opens when you have to book a tatkal ticket. the error starts from 7:55 am and goes till 9:00 am until all the tatkal tickets are booked by the agents. Why doesn't the railways work on making the site better so that the common people can book the tatkal easily without any fuss. I have been trying to book a tatkal ticket since 3 dys and the only thing i get is service unavailable until even the tatkal reaches the waitlist. Also, I dont know why has railways increased the booking time from 3 months to 4 months, who plans the trips 4 months in advance and if you hv ny emergencies the only last option is TATKAL which never works. Or pay the agents some extra 700-1000 Rs for a tatkal ticket which itself is costly and no refund for it even if it is waitlisted
                  our Indian Railway is so irresponsible towards the hygiene n food they give!! I would suggest a railway minister or a railway authority having the food served in canteen n railway stalls. they are so pathethic that even u can afford to buy it they are so bad to taste, that u feel like vomitting.
                  and there is NO canteen for satragachi to LTT superfast express, which have a long journey of around 32 hours.

How can the common person will spend that much amount where as he is not in need to travel till End Place.

                    I was trying to book a train ticket in TATKAL from Chennai to Mysore on 20th June 2009, the IRCTC site was showing page cannot be displayed error & due to my consceutive tries to the site i ended up booking 7 TATKAL tickets & at aroung 3:30 p.m on 18th june 2009, when i checked my e-mail i was surprised that the tickets have been booked & i immediately mailed IRCTC to cancel the 6 tickets & not to charge me the amount for the same as it was the site down error & not from my side...But till now till 6:30 P.M i have no mail confirmation mail,

                      1. It is almost impossible to book tatkal ticket from irctc.co.in. Nomal person login is not given enough bandwidth or virtually they are blocked to do that.
                      2. In normal scenario also, login to irctc is relatively too slow.
                      3. For normal booking also, several time ‘time out’ happens.
                      4. Several times, irctc.co.in can not come back after payment gateway. This makes transaction failure and refunds happens as per sweet time taken by irctc.
                      5. ‘Connection failure’ is normal tendency of irctc.
                      6. Once the same issue was raised in one news channel, where some senior personal of railway had cried reason of heavy traffic on site. I think yahoo/gmail/facebook/linkedin etc are facing atleast 10 times more traffic then irctc but still they are smooth.
                      7. Now agents are not allowed to book Tatkal between 8 am to 10 am. The result is, now tatkal and normal booking has worsened.
                      8. To improve quality of irctc will not consume more then Rs 10 Cr which is not at all a difficult amount. The difficult arrangements are honesty, non-corrupt environment, and clean railway ministry, non-interference of agents and of course patriotic citizens of India.

                        On 18/06/2009 I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on Falaknuma Express (Train No. 2704) from Secunderabad to Howrah boarding on 16/07/2009 in my name Raihan Hazarika. Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI ATM cum DEBIT card payment gateway, the error, "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon... came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and also the ticket was not generated.The money ( Rs 1207 ) has already been deducted from my SBI account but i have not received ticket confirmation.

                        I request IRCTC to help me at the earliest with the ticket . If not, the same amount may please be refunded.

                        Yes i agree with u and i was cheated in same manner and they sent me Lawyers notice for the recovery and next time they might send gondaas.
                        This happened with me also but the money was credited back to my account after 10 days. meanwhile you can also check the booked ticket history. I am using IRCTC since last 3 years and this kind of problem happened several times but money was credited to my account after around a week

                        I advice to have patience. If your ticket is not in booked history then you can rebook.

                        On 03/04/2012 I have done an online transaction to purchase a ticket on 12904
                        BDTS GARIB RATH from MATHURA JN to BANDRA TERMINUS boarding on 13/06/2012 for RAFEEQUE AHMAD Unfortunately after the payment was made through SBI ATM cum DEBIT card payment gateway, the error, "REDIRECT=https://www.irctc.co.in/cgi-bin/bv60.dll/irctc/booking/bankrespon... came up without giving me the confirmation of the payment and neither the ticket is generated.The money ( Rs 553 ) has already been debited from my SBI acc.but i have not received ticket confirmation

                        I request IRCTC to help me at the earliest with the ticket . If not, the same amount may please be refunded.

                          I m a user of ictct i have an account on irctc web site from a long time. i book many ticket without any problem. but from last a month on my account page booked ticket history, tds details etc. not shown by irctc. so i m confuse about this,

                          This is regarding cancellation of ticket via irctc, irctc claiming money been refunded but till date the money havent credited into my pnb account, its been a month. Pnb call centre doent care to answre the quiries and blames the irctc. this is frustarting .

                          this is really happening in pnb, as i am also facing the same problem.i booked a ticked from kingfisher after some days on 2aug2010 i cancelled the ticket, but the money is not ye been credited in my account..kingfisher says that the money is refunded but it is not reflecting in my account...

                            During my last trip to Pune, I booked cab through IRCTC online services. I was told while booking I would receive SMS on cab details and chauffeur phone number. I requested for 11:45AM pick up from Pune air-port, since my flight was scheuduled arrival of 11:30AM. Even after landing till 12:30 I did not get any sms or call from any body.
                            Then I called IRCTC, it took nearly 10 minutes to make the customer service person to understand about my issue. Finally around 1:00pm I got call from transporter carzonerent saying he would send his taxi by next half an hour.
                            I was forced to wait around 2 hours without any reason. My day plan was completely spoiled by that delay.
                            I will not utilise this service hence forth. Dear friends be careful while using this services.

                              I have been using this service for years now, but today I have witnessed this much casual approach frmo IRCTC end, that I felt posting this complaint early ni the morning at 5:15 AM.
                              Earlier I had booked tickets at 5 in the morninig .Today i wanted to book tickets for[protected], so i logon to irctc at 4:58 AM .For 2 mins, site was showing me booking timings from 5 Am to 11:30 PM, but the moment server got back after 5 AM, at the time of finding my trains, a new mesg window pooped out telling me that booking can only be done after 8:00 Hrs.Now this is what i call as casual approach.First they change booking timings and then they dont even consider displaying it to consumers.They dont even consider stop displaying the OLD TIMINGS...

                              I HAVE UPLOADED TWO SCREENSHOTS .1ST SHOWS LOGIN TIMINGS DISPLAYED ON IRCTC(i.e from 5 AM Onwards) AND 2ND SHOWS BOOKING TIMINGS FROM 8 AM ONWARDS, when I was trying to book tickets using my brothers ID.

                              For people out there who still beleive booking timings are from 5 AM to 11:30 PM, dont get fooled by wrong mesg displayed on your IRCTC screen.In actual, it wil allow you to book ticket from 8AM onwards Only.

                              What you have said is true to some extent. The train ticket booking timings is from 5am to 11:30 pm. This is only booking for normal tickets. if you have to book a ticket a ticket under tatkal scheme, then you have to wait till 8am. Though is not mentioned anywhere in the site. i am using the site from last three years and i have enough experience booking under tatkal scheme.
                              Irctc should correct its website and mention that etickets can be booked only after 8:am and tatkal iTickets are not possible because of new 2 days limit on it
                              Booking (I-ticket and E-ticket ) is allowed from 5.00 to 23.30 Hours
                              (Indian Standard Time) on all days including Sundays.
                              Greenwich Mean Time 23.30 and 18.00 Hours

                              Cancellation of E-ticket is allowed from 5.00 to 23.30 Hours
                              (Indian Standard Time) on all days including Sundays
                              (before chart preparation of the train).
                              Greenwich Mean Time 23.30 and 18.00 Hours

                              The above message is wrong and some people are unnecessarily waiting upto 5am to book under TATKAL. You should mention except TATKAL. otherwise it has become a miscommunication. please correct it.
                              All commitments made by IRCTC's seem to be fake as while E-Ticket booking it shows quick book cannot be possible between 8:00 - 9:00 AM.
                              Again it has opened gates for vendors / agents / brokers.

                                I am Nithya V working in pune.

                                I am hoping you will help me. I was cheated by someone.

                                Someone have booked railway ticket using my bank account (through my internet banking account)

                                I need to find that person. So i have sent a detailed mail to IRCTC about this. I called IRCTC delhi but they said it is not possible to find it.

                                My opinion is, that person should have booked the ticket through IRCTC only. With the booking date and transaction details they can find the person name and journey details.

                                IRCTC refused to investigate it.

                                I need your intervention in finding out the culprit.

                                  I would like to describe a difficulty in the e-ticket reservation. At sometimes the authorized agents misspell the name of the passengers in e-ticket, Tatkal. In such cases there is no possibility to change or correct the name of the passenger. Previously, a identity proof number had to be provided for e-ticket, with which we can atleast prove the correct passenger name though the passenger name is wrongly typed while booking the ticket. But now the identity number need not be provided. Hence in this case, if the name is wrongly typed, there is no means to change the name.

                                  When the Chief Reservation Supervisor of important stations are authorized by Railway Administration to permit the change of name of a passenger having a seat or berth reserved in his name in the following circumstances namely:-

                                  Where the passenger makes a request in writing 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train that the reservation made in his name may be transferred to another member of his family, meaning, Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband and Wife., why cant the name that is mistakenly typed could be corrected ?

                                  This is a great difficulty among passengers in e-ticket booking and almost many passengers feel that a clear and flexible rule has to be implemented in case of e-ticket. If there is a rule to correct the name of the passenger in e-ticket passenger, it would be much helpful.

                                  My daughter and her husband while trying to get into unreserved compartment at the banglore city station with the valid open ticket to come to chennai, train No; 12658. Two person standing by the unreserved coach demanded Rs 60 per person to get into the unreserved compartment she says RPF was also standing next to them where keeping their mouth shut when she asked them (RPF) they just ignored her. I would like to know is there any railway rule like this...

                                    i booked a ticket on 3rd june 2009 with a user name & password in the irctc websight. but today when i am trying to logging into this websight its mentioning my user name or password invalid. when i went through the forgot password option & gave the answer of the question i have selected its showing an incorrect answer alert.
                                    i really need to access my acount having the same user namr & password....
