I bought a MDR-EX50LP ear-phone from the Sony-World in Jayanagar on 4th of April 2011. One side channel of the same stopped working after 4 months. I walked into the Sony Authorized Service Centre (RMS Technologies Pvt Ltd, Jayanagar) and submitted the same on 27th Aug-2011. They said they will check with the Sony main office and let me know soon on the status(repair or replacement) soon. After a week when I went back and checked with them, they told me that it will be replaced and asked me to come and collect the set the subsequent week.
After this, I have visited the Service Centre twice and have called them every week for the last 5 weeks. First 2 weeks, I was told that the set is on the way and was asked to come back next week. The last 3 weeks, I have been told that the set is not in stock and they are trying to procure the same and again asked to come the next week.
Last week, after waiting for more than 5 weeks, I called up the Sony India Hotline[protected] on Saturday, 1st Oct-2011 and I registered the complaint and I was told that somebody from Sony will get in touch with me by end of the day, Monday. I waited for the call until Thursday and on no response from Sony, I called up the hotline again on thursday. I was told that it is a holiday on thursday and the status of the complaint has been raised to Urgent and somebody will call me by Friday, 6th Oct 2011. Until now, 12th Oct 2011, I have not received any calls from Sony. Neither have I received any call from the service centre. In all these 45 days, I have called them up at least 10 times and visited the service centre 4 times and I have not received one proactive call from them. This is the worst customer service that I have seen until now. Even though the earphone set only costs about Rs 900, but this is not the kind of service one expects from Sony.
