My name is Gaurav Bhatnagar, I am from New Delhi, India. I bought an Intel based Apple iMAC 24” in August 2009 (Serial No. W89162010TL). I bought this for my cousin for her studies. I got this machine for INR 87,000.

It’s been just over 1 year now and I am facing the following problems:

Problems in motherboard (Sensors not working)
Problems in LCD display (Brightness not even, dark patches all over the screen)

I approached the reseller from whom I bought this machine. After diagnose I was advised that the LCD screen & motherboard needs to be replaced. The total cost as they advised is INR 70,000. When I bought this machine as a customer I was not told about the hardware replacement costs. I was not even told about the Apple protection plan in detail. Because of lack of information even after investing a big sum of INR 87000 I did not buy the apple care package which is for only INR 9000. If i had been told of the implications then logically speaking if i am investing 87000 i would not have chosen to save 9000 on protection plan. As a customer I am a novice in Apple hardware and I would have expected the apple reseller to tell me the following things in detail:

Why is Apple offering the care package. Why isn’t Microsoft or IBM offering such packages.
What is its use and how will it help me.
What are the various hardware costs and what will be the implications if I am not covered by this apple care package.

Being a student it is not at all possible for my cousin to invest another INR 70,000 to get the LCD & motherboard replaced. Her studies have now come to a complete halt as we bought this iMAC for her studies. She does not have her parents to support her and is currently in a state of depression. So I have had to take a stand and make things work for her.

I wanted an exclusive product with a certain set of trained people to assist me and advise me correctly (DURING PURCHASE).

At the moment all I can do is request you to kindly intervene in this issue and help me. I know in what magnitude my cousin’s future will be impacted if her studies are halted.

I would request you to also raise this issue directly with Apple India & Apple United States. I have already talked to Apple customer care in Bangalore but they refused to help. Call ID:[protected]. The customer care executive was very helpful but his seniors were not quite supportive.

I am ready to buy the apple protection plan or the other option is that they should replace my mother board & LCD screen. There is no way a student can pay another 70,000 for this.

I am going through similar experience after just 1 month of buying an iMac from Staples in Bangalore. I am an entrepreneur and wanted to develop applications on Mac platform. I even paid 99USD for apple developer program. I am going to file a suite against Staples in this regard.

The attitude by Apple and Staples employees is terrible. This is the biggest problem in India. There is hardly any protection for the customer.

    Is Naaptol a fraud comapny, cheating millions of people. My order no. 443662, for the above product, to my utter horror, I have been cheated. The advertisement says, inbuilt speaker, but there are no inbuilt speakers, no manual along with product, it doesn`t even work. I have loged many complaints 143877 dated 8/6/2010, 157301 dated 15/06/2010, but there is no response from Naaptol people. I must have rang 25 - 30 times, but no effect. CAN SOMEBODY GUIDE ME AS TO HOW TO GO ABOUT. I FEEL REALY DEPRESSED BY THE FACT THAT I HAVE BEEN CHEATED. THE PRODCUT COST IS RS 2000/-. IT IS NOTHING, BUT CHEATING HURTS.

    MP4 PLAYER — Not Functioning

    This my Order Number 4955843, MP4 player purchased through Rediff shopping in the month of October last week, purchased from AMS Exporters. It is not functioning can u replace with other, otherwise waste of my money, this is not the way to provide quality less products to the customer, customer will lose the confidence on Rediff shopping.

      Apple I phone — Software problem in Handset

      Dear Sir,/Madam,

      The mentioned Apple I Phone was received by me on dtd. 1/07/2011 through transaction no.[protected] but regret to inform you that the same phone is having some software problem. No sooner I put the mobile in Power on mode, few colors use to appear on Screen.

      These color disappear for a while when I switch on the mobile after keeping in switch off modefor some time,but again this problem of appearance of colors on screen resurfaces in few minutes.

      I have logged a complaint through your customer care no. (Complaint no.-197734 dtd.4/7/2011) for immediate action on this. Please take remedial action as soon as possible and immediately replace the mobile set with a proper working technically OK new set.

        Hi,

        I had purchased an apple IPOD (Rs 13500/-) and since it was not working, i took the same to service centre which is Simply Wireless which was previously located at Goregoan and currently at Bandra West.
        I visited the service centre and they had advised to keep the device with them for further checks, but later they returned the device stating that it could not be repaired.
        Later found from the Apple company that their products are never opened, instead directly sent to the company and since my devise has been opened by the service centre now the company is not ready to take the device for the check.
        They had also not provided any receipt since the iPod was not repaired.
        Kindly advise what need to be done. This was almost a year and am now at Bangalore. I am not able to understand why is the service centre calls themselves as authorized for Apple when they don’t know the terms of this company? There might be lot of peoples who must have lost their device due to this service centre.
        Appreciate if you can guide me with the solution on the above.

        I got LCD of my I phone replaced from simply wireless, for which they charged me Rs 5500 and the very next day touch function of my cell stopped working. When i asked them to rectify the same, they told me they dont provide warranty of LCDs and i will have to get it changed for which i need to pay them Rs 5500 again. Dont know what for this service center calls itself apple authorised or whether it really is or not?

          I have been scammed by online seller [protected]@gmail.com from beijing china,he took away 50000rs from me and i have all the proofs including his business registration letter,guarantee note,payment proof.

          I asked for 2 mobile phones and he send me a cup as you can see,i reuest you to forward my complaint to china police so that they can catch the scammer and get my money back,it would be great help.

              Apple i pod — ipod not working

              I bought the apple i pod from range teleservices, lajpat nagar market, new delhi in the month of may 08..which worked well till september after which i faced problms and was not able to download songs and all songs got erased too. i went pillar to post to rectify it but in vain..nobody listened and hardly had time to get back to old cxs.

              WE HAVE PURCHASED I POD IN JANUARY 2010 IT IS IN WARRANTY ,

                I have recently bought a new Macbook from the Next store in Sector 35 Chandigarh ON 20/07/2010 BILL NO 95010. At the time of purchase i told them that i want the latest model as I dont know the model number. They commited me that they will give the latest version. When I checked I came to know that they have given me the old model. Next day I went to them and told them that they have given me the 2009 model and 2 models have got launched after that. Then they offered me Dell or Acer as these 2 were available.But I only them that i want the latest Mac book only if you dont have it please refund my money.Then your store manager told me that i will mail my head office to send the latest model but you have to wait for two days.But he did not call me .Today when i called he told me we will replace your laptop only when apple co will say us to do so.You people have cheated me.
                kindly change my Mac book immidiatly OR REFUND MY MONEY otherwise i will take legal action aginst your company.

                  I have been a victim of this person too. I bid for a sealed iphone 3gs 32gb for Rs 18800=00 on ebay which I lost be'cos someone won it at Rs30000=00. Two days later i received email that i have been given a second chance to buy the item since the winner did not turn up.
                  i was askd to call or sms before making paisa pay payment. so i called on his no-[protected] and he told me that since i won it on low bid it want be possible to sell the iphone through paisa pay.
                  he asked me to pay Rs 8000=00 to his IcIcI a/c no[protected] in the name of nagaraj v kulkarni branch dharwad karnataka.
                  he asked me to do the transfer before 3 pm as he colud ship the product on the same day.
                  so i made the payment of Rs 8000=00 on[protected] to his account.he called back at 7 pm said he received the money and gave me a 12 digit fed ex tracking no.XXXXXXXXXX and said that tracking will only be avalaible on fedex internet site after 10 am tomorrow i.e[protected] and the delivery date was after 10 am on 1-7-2010. I checked the fedex tracking no which was not correct and since then he did not reply to my calls or sms. I enquired about his bank details and found that--
                  1) He has a ICICI account in which I have transfered Rs. 8000/-. Account no. is[protected].
                  2) His mobile no. is [protected] , [protected] and his landline no.[protected]
                  3) His Complete address according to bank details:- Behind Deshpande compound, Kabbur Road, Malamaddi, Dharwad - Karnataka. Pin code-580007
                  4) This person is a fraud

                  I request you to please update this on the records so that in future this person will not be able to open a bank account and neither he should be eligible for any loan. The moment he applies to open an account he must be catched and all his accounts must be freezed immediately. This person is a fraud.

                      Apple Laptop — MISHANDLED MY LAPTOP

                      I HAVE AN APPLE LAPTOP, AND IT HAD A BATTERY PROBLEM AND I GAVE FOR REPAIR AND IT WAS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION. I GAVE IT AT APPLE'S AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE ( REDINGTON, KANPUR) AND THEY MISHANDLED MY LAPTOP, WHEN I WENT THEIR TO RECIEVE MY LAPTOP THE CONDITION WAS REALLY BAD, FULL OF SCRATCHES. I SPOKE TO THE STORE MANAGER BUT HE WAS NOT ABLE TO HELP ME IN ANY CASE. I COMPLAINED ABOUT IT TO APPLE, BUT THEY SAID THEY ARE UNABLE TO HELP ME IN THE ABOVE CASE.

                        Hi,

                        I bought apple IPhone from MobileStore, Marathalli. It is under warranty till Oct 2010. Currently, the speakers of my phone are not working and when I tried to search for the service center I was not able to find. When I contected MobileStore they are asking me to contact my mobile service provider which is AirTel. I contacted AirTel they are saying that they only provide service to IPhones purchased from them. I tried calling Apple contact center which is having an automated voice. It asks you to contact service provider.

                        I am not sure what to do now. As i am not able to find an authorized service provider I am not sure from where I can get this mobile serviced.

                        Apple Mobile Phone — Not able to track!!

                        My friend have sent me an apple iphone from Nigeria via EMS speedpost courier service...
                        he gave me tracking number but i'm not able to track it...
                        i tried Nigeria EMS Speedpost tracking website as well as Indian EMS tracking website but on both websites it says there is no record for given tracking number...

                          I went to Croma in Eva mall three or four times to look at the iMAc. After talking to the Apple salesperson there (Divya) I was about to buy when I encountered lousy service from both Croma and this Appple salesperson.
                          Twice I went on the day that I was to buy but this salesperson was never there. The Croma salespeople (if I can call them that) were least interested. There were some offers when I first reviewed the product and although I left my phone number, I was never informed of the withdrawl of the offer.
                          Very disappointing service and attitude.
                          Never Croma and am even reconsidering my decision to buy a Mac.

                            Don’t buy Apple products if you are an Indian



                            Strange as this may sound, this, in fact is the reality.



                            Don’t expect any apple support or service on its products if you are an Indian. Firstly, they don’t have a support network of their own in India – since it is low priority zone as conveyed to me on telephone by the Apple representative from Australia who I contacted. They don’t seem to believe that India is low priority as far as sales is concerned – it is low priority only for repairs and support!



                            Working with indecisive domestic partners – I believe they instruct their support partners to– delay repairs (standard procedures, you see) and finally deny repairs.



                            My Macbook developed problems with the keystrokes, and the support partner in Hyderabad Ms Ample Technologies had to make me wait for an agonizing 10 days – since they had to escalate issues to Bangalore and then further to Apple – who take their time to arrive at a diagnosis – after the weeks of investigation – which are ‘standard procedures’ the outcome conveyed is that the set is outside the scope of warranty. First shot, I was told that my Macbook might have fallen down, then they tried to tell me that it might have had dust inside and finally they tell me that it is sweat or water. All these colorful opinions emerge one after the other without one bit of certainty. This, in spite the fact that I paid huge sum of money to invest in extended warranty of 3 additional years hoping for the promised level of support.



                            My colleague – whose Macbook had a similar problem was instantly serviced when he was in Singapore. No questions asked. No pictures taken. No ‘standard procedures’ clauses.



                            In India, if you are an Apple user, you’d be denied and rejected support. If you attempt to escalate and decide to fight it out – as I did – you will find that you have no way of locating any support escalation point other than the standard 1800 phone of Apple India, who are stuffy, monotonous and helpless. Having run into a wall - I had to prise out global emails from the web to offer my point of view. Once – and if - you have managed to do all of this – phew…you will promptly receive a call from Australia – a gentlemen from Apple will offer to investigate and revert within a week – and at the end of the week, he will apologize and state that based on internal investigations, paper procedures, timelines and expert opinions the product may not fall under the scope of support.



                            The experience of many other Apple users is similar. My friend had his iPod failing within a week and he was denied replacement or repair. Any guess what was the excuse for denying support – the piece had water marks !!



                            So my advice is that don’t buy an Apple product if you are going to use it in India unless you want to be called by an Aussie from Apple and told – after due investigations - that you just dropped it in water mate !

                              I purchased Apple ipod shuffle from Chroma (TATA electronics shop). 2 weeks since i boight this product, it has been malfunctioning (headset has become unresponsive and operates erratically) and had was turned down by Chroma, when approached with the complaint. I had checked the apple website and understand this complaint is prevalent with many customers. Looking for justice from either the manufacturer(Apple) or the sales outlet ( Chroma-TATA company) for having sold such a inferior quality product , for a high price and having prior knowledge of this complaint from various counsumer base in different countries.

                                  After considering 3 brands of laptops (DELL, IBM & MAC), while my original preference was a DELL, since my company has a corporate relationship with DELL and my experience with them has been very pleasant over the years, I still decided to consider buying a MAC, while I was in Singapore, (I am now in Hyderabad). The decision became easy after the retailer shared his opinion of an Apple Mac being sturdy and Apple's service & support very efficient, often a fix in only 24 hours. Since prompt service is very high in my priority for electronic goods, I took the retailer's word and promptly ordered a Mac. I also invested in and paid for EXTENDED warranty of 3 years since support is of strong importance for me and my company.

                                  I had a pleasant fairly experience with the Mac.

                                  However, on the morning of 25th Jan 2010, when I attempted to create a document, I found that some of the keys on the keyboard were not working. Recalling the promise of prompt and professional service by Apple - I assured my company, that as soon as the problem is brought to the attention of Apple support staff, they would set the problem right instantly.

                                  I alerted their technician in February 2nd 2010 - gave them all details of the mac, the problem, my warranty details and also took mvy MAC for inspection. I thought that the support office had enough discretionary powers to take their own decision - however The technician said his only role was to report the problem to his higher-up and so he asked me to await a return message from his own head-office in Bangalore (on email) who in turn would interact with Apple Bangalore. Asked for his initial diagnosis, he said moisture, sweat might have gone in to the laptop or something else could have happened. I asked him for a quick turnaround to which he said "Nothing can be done quickly, we have procedures" Feedback from Bangalore will take 4 days, then another week for repair, provided my headoffice agrees ! He apparently took pictures and sent them over to Bangalore. He told mve he wont need My for inspection, since he had taken pictures.

                                  Despite waiting for 2 days, there was no telephone call or intimation from anyone from Ample or Apple. I called - and they confirmed that they had already alerted the relevant people and were awaiting response. The next day being Sunday, I assumed that at least on Monday my Mac would be attended to.

                                  The next business day I received a call and the support staff said "Oh, it is under warranty, no problem" but Apple has not taken any decision yet. But they have asked me to inspect the set once again. I said "WHAT?" " It needs to be checked again, since this is standard practice. I asked him why he couldnt have checked it initially - he said he must have missed to do that !! So, I told him this was pointless and meaningless delay. I was quite irritated that despite waiting for 5 days the Apple support team has not only not taken any decision but needed the Mac again for further inspection !! I He said he needed to look inside one last time and then the set would be repaired. I had to leave for Delhi, so I couldn't take the Mac to Ample for 3 days. When I reached back Hyderabad, I called to check if I could bring the Mac for the inspection as the staff had requested, to which he said "Dont bother, the request for repair has been rejected" The Apple guys have closed the query." If you want, speak to Apple. I cant reveal any more details. I said I dont want any details, just information.

                                  Now, despite being armed with extended warranty I almost regret the fact that I chose Apple MAC, even in the knowledge that I could have bought DELL or IBM instead.

                                  So much for Apple's promise of a prompt 24 hour service when I first bought the Mac.
                                  Now I am left wondering what my next move should be.

                                  I understand you had this bad experience from Ample Technologies. Trust me Apple Care support is the best in the world. May be one of Apple Authorised Service Provider was not able to meet your expectations. I had visited one of Apple Authorised Service Provider in Bangalore. I guess the name was Neoteric Information Ltd., I am sorry I don't remember the complete name as of now. They are in Wilson Garden, Bangalore. I got my MacBook Pro serviced there. It was amazing. Those guys are really helpful.

                                  Its not fair to form a wrong perception just because of one service provider Ample Technologies. By the way did you get the issue with your mac resolved ?

                                    This is Raja Ram from Nagercoil. The TSS (Time Saving Service) named buses are
                                    running between Nagercoil to Tirunelveli.

                                    1. But these buses are not saving any time. These buses are entering Panakudi,
                                    valliur as well as Eruvadi/Nanguneri.
                                    Amoung these places Panakudi and Nanguneri dont have proper road
                                    facility(damaged road with full of speed breakers/ No space to even turn the
                                    bus). Also from these places some times no passengers are getting in to the bus
                                    nor getting down. But these buses are travelling into this places and wastes
                                    the passengers time who travels from Nagercoil to Tirunelveli. There are also
                                    SFS and SSS services to this places which are more than enough for these
                                    places.

                                    2.In addition Conductors of TSS, stops buses at Aralvoimozhi and Kavankinaru
                                    Junction in collection motive.

                                    I know to travel between tirunelveli to nagercoil there is new service (End to
                                    End). But we rarely find this End to End bus in bus stand.


                                    Please save travelling time by increasing End to End buses or just Rename the
                                    TSS service as SFS or SSS since they do not save any time.

                                      I have booked a Mac Book 207 on 9th Dec 2009, and the delivery was promised was after one week on the 16th.On the 16th i was told that it will take 2 more days, after that i called today 18th Dec 2009 i was informed that it will take 4 to 5 more days.Which according to me is very bad customer Service.
                                      When i asked for a refund i was informed that i will have to pay a 5 to 10 % surcharge as it was paid by card.
                                      I would like to have the machine by tomorrow or the refund and i wont be paying the surcharge as it is a delay at your end.
                                      As i am a student and have a lot of projects lined up, and i cant wait for so long to get a computer.

                                      hi i am sachin i have got to buy a macbook from noida sector 18, j-54, sonam dutta as a store manager of imagine she has attended me a she has booked machine from me asked for advance money rs10000.and told me to collect a machine after 2 days i have given the money to her and she has not attended my some fundas are cleared she has not taken intrest to guide me and when i have told her about software she has told me its chargeable for pirioted for fcp 5000 and for office 500 basic software 1000 extra and i have gone to collect my machine after a week she has told me which machine and she has cheated me i have fighted for my money she has told me avtech dosent have record you have to again a money.as i am student of amity our colege student go their for purchasing they charge for software pirioted she tells our company do that.so donot buy anything from that store

                                      hi i am reshma from marrawh studio i want to say that the imagine store noida and store manager and assistant store manager ya there name is sonam and other one dilip both are reduculus they always cheat customer they need money for piroted software fcp and ms office they always ask for money they are bad in service and overall when i have taken machine they have taken money more than the money after that i let it know that they do billing in mrp and after that they tear the bill and do billing in student account why they do this type of cheating after 2 or 3 days dilip has called me ands says that mam i have given you 10000 rs more so plz kindly return me i have done wrong counting is it possible i think apple should take action because they are cheater both are doing every time to earn money.apple should take care of his name

                                      Hi..You r right, these people are realy not understandable to me also. I also purchase a I pod from them 8 months back, & when i faced the problem in charging they asked me to purchased the original charger to charge the I pod and they sold me Chinese charger in place of Original Apple One. Truly Apple should take action against them.

                                        We have purchased Apple Ipod from USA. The sl.no. is YM524A33541. It is 4 GB ipod. The ipod battery has lost its life. When enquired at Chennai, Apple Ipod Service Centre, they were not willing to replace the battery even on chargeable basis.
                                        What is the way out to use this ipod. Where else can we get the battery. Please reply.

                                        I have recently purchases apple ipod classic & inorder to transfer music/video files to ipod through i tunes which is not working properly as well as very slow in processing.
