I had lost my HDFC Bank Debit Card (No. [protected]) some time after 14.05.2006 (the last time I withdrew Rs 3000 from Lajpat Nagar ATM).
I didn't realise I have lost the card until I wanted to withdraw money on 25.05.2006 and found the card missing. I got the card blocked immediately but by then 3 unauthorised withdrawals of Rs 15,000 each were already made on 20th, 21st and 22nd May 2006).
I contacted the branch and after much deliberations and requests (the whole time the guy at the other end kept telling me that it was because of my fault since I lost the card), I was given a form to be filled and enclosed with FIR & letters giving details of the event and transactions disputed. I supplied the above mentioned documents the very next day.
I was promised that the disputed amount will be credited to my account but will be "holds funds" and an investigation will be undertaken.
But the amount was NEVER credited back to my account. Plus, I was NEVER intimated about the proceedings or result of the 'investigation'.
My point is even if I lost my card, how come the person who found it got the PIN? Now, I am not so stupid to share the PIN with anyone. Plus, when I asked the bank to see the CCTV footage and get the person caught, they said there is no CCTV at our ATMs.
After 2 months of the incident, I had contacted the customer care guy at the bank and he had told me that I will soon hear from the bank. But I never got any response.
After some more time, I got frustrated and even stopped following up. But again after around 2 years, I sent a mail to the customer care cell (that i got to know from some forum) but no one replied.
Is this the kind of service one expects from a bank? They even didn't have the courtesy to tell me what happened in their investigations.
Plus, I also applied for the reissuance of another debit card but it hasn't been sent to yet.
I request the bank to look into this matter and reverse the amount in my account or ATLEAST inform me about the result of their 'investigation'.

HDFC — Personal Loan Pre Approval
Hi,I have applied for a PL in HDFC Bangalore. It was a call from one of the consultant and i have gone thru them to apply for a PL. During submission i have given a wrong proof (Mismatch Bank statments) with my sign on the Print out. The same has been verified by the bank officials and they called me stating there has been a mismatch in the statements (what i have given v/s what they obtained from Bank).
They called me to the bank for further dicussion. Before that i have asked them are they ready to give the loan if i come over there to talk. I have told them yes the statement were wrong...i will provide you the recent one. Then later on they told they wont approve the loan...if i couldn't walk to bank by person they will inform RBI about my mistake and they will file for a fraudlent case.
Is this a valid one that too before approval? I would agree that they can do if i got the cheque from them and not paid the EMI's on time.
I am just confused and getting calls everyday but not attending as they keep on calling stating to come to bank. This is before the pre-approval status and would like to know the comments from you all.
Kindly let me know is there any problem (or) Are they external consultants making call to get some money from me.
