Good Day Sir,

It is unfortunate but compelled by the utter desperation the inhuman torture experienced from the icici pru life organization in the name of insurance policy serving to our society by such a reputed organisation.As a result I have been cheated by their branch manager/ agents/ responsible officers. They have cheated my 10lacs, 2lacs, 2lacs through their so called manager, agents and their branch office located at Kolkata. I have been knocking their all responsible officers including Mumbai HO. Kolkata branch office had arranged tele-conferencing and subsequently conducted forum in the month of September'08 with the accused agent Miss Chandreyee Chatterjee and Mr.Merul Mehata, along with MissIshani Hazra, branch manager, and other officials wherein they acknowledged their faults and promised to give me some relaxation. Till date I have not rcvd. any positive response from them and I was told from Kolkata branch that the matter will be solved by the HO.So I would like to explore their cheating activities through your media so that customer like me should not come across such an awkward situation and customer will not trap such officials. Also I would like to stop such heinous activities by such an organization in the name of insurance through your media. I feel this organization should be banned for public service.
Hope I shall receive positive response from you soon.

Unfair trade practices played by Major Insurance Company, ICICI Prudential

How ICICI Prudential cheat the people systematically and rob the money from innocent customers through their clever and cunning methods

Please do not take investment or any such policy from this company.
ICICI Prudential is running professional fraudulent scams cheating innocent people, robbing their money by their planned, cunning and heinous activities.
They lure people by attractive offers that too approached by your own relatives and friends so called Advisors who are out-sourced by ICICI Prudential.
These advisors themselves do not know the details of such investment policies. They do the canvassing just to get their salary or commission which ICICI Prudential pay them for this FRAUD


You will be made to believe falsely that this is purely an investment scheme and you will be guaranteed for the money you invest would be doubled within five years by the Advisors and the local area Managers
Advisor would himself guarantee the amount getting doubled within five years and he would even call the local area Manager who is well trained to be a part of this fraudulent scam and to cheat the client by confirming him the same as Advisor said The details & facts of the actual policy will not be shown to you till it becomes late for you to get the refund.
The policy is written in such a professional cunning manner that you would not get any single rupee from the money you invested.
The entire money would be lost.

You will be attracted by such false guarantees by the area managers and the advisors that your money would be doubled at the end of 5 years
if you pay lump sum amount for three consecutive years (For example Rs 2 lakhs in 2007+ Rs 2 Lakhs in 2008 + Rs 2 Lakhs in 2009). You would be made to believe that this is totally an INVESTMENT DEPOSIT SCHEME similar to any bank fixed deposit or like INDIRA VIKAS PATHRA and ICICI Prudential is marketting this under the cover of some false name including free insurance policy etc. etc. You will be made to believe that ICICI Prudential guarantees 100% the money doubling in 5 years

When you pay the first installment of such a huge amount that is it.
You will lose that money completely. 25% of that money would be deducted from your amount as premium allocation charges, then they deduct as per their will, mortality charges, policy administration charges, service charges etc.Then the balance amount they would invest in some useless untold sinking funds all at the client’s risk. Then by the time you realize this, it would be too late to recover the money.

All your money would be totally taken up by ICICI Prudential

Advisors or the Local Area Manager would never tell the facts that 25% of the money you invest at the first instance would be taken as some PREMIUM ALLOCATION CHARGES. If you pay Rs 10 lakhs, they would take straightaway Rs 2.5 lakhs as such charges. They also would not tell the fact that the balance amount would be invested in some fancy funds - market funds they call - totally at client's risk Giving nice fancy names like MULITIPLIER, RICH, OPTIMISER, LIFESTAGE etc etc. just to attract you. You would never come to know of these until very late when you realise that you are trapped by these people. Then you will find these such different fund names and you would never know what these funds are and which companies they invest. All BOGUS Not only that, they deduct again SERVICE CHARGES, MORTALITY CHARGES, POLICY ADMINISTRATION CHARGES etc. from the balance amount and further reduce your available amount to the least possible amount

These cunning people make the clients to cancel this policy once thety realise that this is a FRAUD. By the time it would become too late. There are professional cunning people in ICICI Prudential trained for answering the clients queries and e-mails. They are all MANAGERS called Customer Relations managers. They switch over time to time and change by shift in answering and replying the clients to fool them They have their standard replies to the customers - well planned and systematically executed by the company.

The standard replies from ICICI Prudential would be: (all well preplanned for such frauds)
" We wish to inform on investigating the case with the relevant department, we are unable to comply with your request for policy cancellation"
" Further, we wish to inform you that every customer is entitled for a free-look period of 15 days from the date of receipt of the policy document, etc.etc."


Everyone in ICICI Prudential is a Manager. There is no level junior to Manager. There are some Process Leaders who act as though they are the bosses for the Managers. These people are well designated to do this crime of cheating people and doing FRAUD and cheating Indians in a professional way.

This is a very well planned professional way used by ICICI Prudential in cheating innocent people including NRIs and making money. A client would never get his money back. He would lose the entire amount he invested in the first year. ICICI Prudential knows that The client would not normally invest further similar amounts in the second year and the third year to lose still higher amounts. This also well planned and anticipated by ICICI Prudential and to cover this they have writtem in the policy rules " No surrender value if policy called at the end of first year or second year or third year" and thereby rob all your money

This has to be brought into light and this FRAUDULENT SCAM should be exposed to all people and to Indian Government and proper disciplinary action should be taken against this company.

I am currently in the US and from India one of my neighbour called me the other day. The neighbour is a good man who has helped me a lot on many occations. The reason for his call was to tell that his daughter is going to get a job in ICICI prudential as a "MANAGER" (she has just finished her Bcom), but initially to prove her ability, she has to take 20 investments. They have got around 12 and need me to invest. Now, I have never ever invested anywhere in my life. I don't believe in investing somewhere and doubling the money, but at the same time, I can't say No to my good neighbor. I am so confused. Are you sure that it is a scam? Can anyone send me a scanned copy of their policy to go through it? I would really appreciate your help
ICICI Prudential is the biggest FRAUD on this planet. Our family had around 2 lakhs of savings in small banks in India. Last August 2008 when we went to India we went to ICICI and asked for investment options and we were given this Prudential RICH II fund where we invested our money. We were not explained anything about the charges terms and conditions and believing that this is a huge international entity we were confident about our money. After a month when we received our papers we found out that approx 1.72 lakhs were only invested, the remaining 28 thousand was taken as commissions. I am now in a fix where I would have to pay another 2 lakhs for another two years with another huge part of the principal being taken as comissions. I have never seen or heard of such exorbitant rates of comissions for such an underperforming fund or investment. Can you imagine a bank where your principal amout disappears completely if you cannot invest additional money in subsequent years.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS. UNFORTUNATELY I HAD OPENED UP AN NRI ACCOUNT WITH THEM AS WELL WHICH IS A SAVINGS ACCOUNT BUT IN THE RECENT STATEMENT INSTEAD OF MONEY GROWING I SEE MY PRINICIPAL AMOUNT REDUCED AS WELL.

I was totally misguided by that ICICI Prudential advisor and local bank manager that this is only an investment scheme similar to the old Indira Vikas Pathra and the money would be doubled at the end of 5 years. These people did not inform me the details of the investment scheme or policy – They misguided me that it is just a savings deposit scheme similar to investment in bank.

I too have lost the entire money of Rs 2 Lakhs - just like that vanished - robbed by ICICI Prudential

Now only I understand that these all are part of the fraud – I was only another victim to get trapped – This is an usual fraud business done by ICICI Prudential. Now I know that I cannot get back my money. ICICI Prudential does this fraud in a very professional way using their cleverly written fraud rules. All are set up to corner the poor clients and rob the money like this. These policies should be reviewed by some concerned responsible government departments and they should take stern action against these crimes

Somebody should take appropriate action on ICICI PRUDENTIAL and on the concerned people who are cheating Indians like this. & to take stern action on the Managers and advisors not to trap the NRIs and other innocent Indians like this and taking their HARD EARNED money.

Dear All,

The agents or the agencies of the ICICI Pru are the main culprits. One Noida based Insurance company called "Vighnaharta Direct Insurance group" misguided my old parents to the tune of 50K to take 2 policies and they claimed that they will be receiving x% of amount in 3 years time + 300 bonus units for the policies. The money is their pension and support for their old age. When confirmed from the ICICI Pru regarding these details, the key managers over their said that we are misguided and there is no such features as given by the agents and we cannot get the said amount in 3 years time. Fortunately for us, we had time to cancel the policies, so we did it. Such are the activities of the insurance agencies, ICICI pru or any other company, their is no concrete law to stop such fraudulent practices. We all must lodge a formal complaint to the higher authorities against such dubious games. Such agencies must be stopped to make any business to cheat people. They are only concerned to their monthly targets and nothing else. Its high time that we make a joint forum and lodge a joint complaints to IRDA or concerned higher authorities.

I had taken a insurance policy from ICICI Prudential in my son's name,paid the premium for 2yrs & then when i went to pay the next premium the employee there did not give me a receipt for the Rs.5000.00 i paid,however gave me a handwritten chit as the printed receipt was not available,during the time of the next premium when I visited the office I was told that employee had cheated many people therefore even my money has gone,i went & reported the incident to the bangalore main office,they took the complaint however did not help much.Now I have requested to cancel the policy & return my money back instead of helping they gave me the call center number who was also not helpful.I am from a lower middle class family I am not a very educated person I do not know what steps do I take.Kindly help me.
Myself Narinder Kaur is also came in their trap, Similar false promises they made with me in New Delhi Meera Bagh Branch by their agent arihant Jain. I paid frist premium of Rs 60000/-. I communicated with tem and the reponse was same that I can notget my policy cancelled. again I am communicating with them but they are not responding at all. My e-mail id is [protected]@telus.net

I think ecnomics crime wing is there to lodge a complaint against such frauds.

The fact of the matter remains, rather painful, that we Indians trust people easily!

We go by the words of people and do not work hard to study our investments before.

Which is a wrong thing, why do we give in to the fraudsters?

Because we all are either complacent creatues or to put it simple, do not value money. My case is a classic example of "bugging by relatives". On the door step every morning, evening and night, no other option but to take a policy.

Result? one gets cheated not once, but many tmes. And yet we do not learn...we have to draw line somewhere!
I have done a policy in my name - Arup Ratan Chakraborty. DOB- 05.01.1972, ICICI Smartkid RP Policy No[protected] dated- 27.10.2007 for Rs. 12000.00 yearly. i deposited 27000 in may 2008.. they said u have to pay 3 years then i[censored] want u can withdraw... but due to resision i stopped payment... while i asking my deposits they said you will get after 3 years. but now may2011 they dispated the cheque of 5000... totally fraudent?????????????       I bought a term plan online in the first week of January'2011 even after completing all documentation in the 3rd week of Jan'2011.They came up in the 3rd week of march'2011 asking for more premium amount(more than double).

      In between this,(70 days time) they are not at all bothered to send the status to customer and when contacted them atleat 30 times i was given assurance every time that policy will be issued ASAP and without any additional requirments.Now after 70 days they are asking for more than double premium amount which is totaly absurd.

      It was really a WORST experience of my life with ICICI PRU life and i advice every one to keep your self away from this type of company and they should immediately stop there online calculator which is making fool of every one.There Underwriter team reminds me of old fashioned Govt organisation even below that and customer care (I don't know why are they being paid).

      I had no word but really this was WORST ever experience with them.

      totaly with you sir. icici ka matlab hai hindustan k logo ko thagna...yeh ek thag company hai ziska maksad kewal aur kewal logo ko bevkuf banana hai...muje samjh nhi ata ki is bare mai IRDA kya ker raha hai..zis tarh ki icici ki harkate hai usko dekhte hue is company ko kab ka tala laga dena chahiya tha..but bharat sarkar ko logo ki pareshaniyo se kya vasta usey to apni jeb bhari dhikh rahi hai jo is tarah ki fraud company bhar rahi hai...kuch example deta hu..
      1-policy jab tak nhi li tab tak to yeh company custmor ko sar pr bithati hai, jaha policy issue hui nhi ki company ne rang badla...phle custmor puri branch ka bhagwan hota hai, policy lene k baad koi custmor ko pehchanta hi nhi...khte hai ki ab to murga fans gya...
      2-policy bond badi muskil se ghar pahuchta hai..rural areas k liye courier pahuchna muskil hota hai..icici rural address dekhte hue bhi waha courier bhejte hai..jo baad mai vapis mumbai pahuchta hai..paise aur samay dono ki barbadi aur tension alag..fir icici k duar jhakte raho, galti company ki aur application likhe custmor..
      3- surrender cheque b aisi bakwas courier (BLUE DART-jiska matlab hai paise mil jaye aur custmor ka kaam bhi na ho) se bhejte hai jo cheque apne paas dabake rakhti hai, (Shyad ye sochti hai ki aise cheque double ho jayenge) custmor ko phone karke batana kanun jurm samjhti hai...koi blur dart ya aur courier com. chala bhi jaye to aise aise sawal puchti hai jaise courier company hi hamari anadata, palanhar ho..uper se dhamki ki cheque vapis kr denge...kul milake jo icici k bhawar mai fhansa vo bahar nhi nikal paya...
      4-mai bharat ki janta se kahna chata hu ki agar aap khud ko sache hindustani mante ho to kabhi bhi ICICIPRU ya ICICIBANK mai paise invest mat karna...isse tuchi company duniya mai koi nahi hai..jo videshi company(Prudential) k sath milkar hamare desh k saath gaddari karti hati hai ..

To my horror , (after reading an article on importance of nomination, on enquiry from ICICI Pru, the nominee in case of my death. It is confirmed that I am the nominee. The mail is reproduced below. I am sure this is an intentional endeavour to deny pepole their lifes savings.

          I want following things to be answered for my Policy No 08118600 & 08118569 & my money to be credited back on immediate basis.

          1) I have not issued a standing instruction for the payment of my premium worth a hefty Rs. 55200/- through my credit card of ICICI Bank.
          2) How can a transaction happen through my credit card without my approval since i had made payments through it only for 1 particular year.
          3) The information of any such payment transaction about to happen with my personal account by ICICI Prudential was not at all mentioned and neither a permission was taken from me.(through email or SMS)
          4) Its not mandatory to make a payment in policy like i hold, is it a way to acquire somebody hard earned money by knowing his bank detail..??

          With respect to the complain no 32228647 &[protected]through the customer service supervisor Mr. Aviraj by speaking over toll free number on 12 March & 14 March 2011 )

          1) I have got a clear idea that ICICI Prudential has agreed that i have not given a mandatory instruction from my credit card.
          2) They are not promising me any refund at this stage but suggesting me to be happy with this transaction as my policy is in force, as i will make a huge profit by investing here.
          3) I always have the option to pay my premium through what ever mode i want to but not in the way or manner it has been imposed on me.
          4) An individual does his financial planning in January month i have done the same, as a salaried , in a month like March a bill of additional 56000 is a huge hit to me, and if i do not make the payment to c.card i will face a late payment fee + Interest on the same. If the credit card goes off imagine the kind of paper work i have to go through were in all my other transactions are very well dependent on it.
          5) Apart from all this verbal follow up, what kind of mental toucher i am going through has no measure as my Card detail are known to ICICI Prudential keeping me aleart for the rest of my life as they can make any such illegal unauthorized transaction & make me run through pillar to post for my valuable assects.

                    I had the misfortune of buying ICICI Pinnacle policy (#[protected] in Dec 2009. I was not interested in buying the policy considering inappropirate allocation and fund management charges, but somehow fell to the promise offered by their slippery sales agent Lalit Matta. He promised that he will all allocation charges/fund management charges reduced to maximum of 3-4% consolidated for first year and there won’t be any charge except a very minimal amount (1%) from year 2. Since, I was a repeat customer who was using their service through another policy since 2003, he said the company can take care of it as a special case.

                    I deposited 50k as the first premium amount and was told I will be getting extra units issued or a refund cheque in lieu of rebate in the charges. That was then and I never again got a whiff from Lalit Matta. Finally, for the second year payment, the guy resurfaced again and told me that he has got me extra units alloted and I will be seeing the same in my statement. I fell to his promise as I assumed that there must be some checks and balances in ICICI Prudential. I was told that if I do not deposit the premium anyways the policy becomes null and void. As I deposited the money, Lalit Matta vanished again along with his promises. I finally found out that the actual charges are 14% and 4% for year 1 & 2 respectively.
                    But this time, I didnt want to give up. So I followed up with the grievance redressal unit of ICICI Prudential hoping they will be better but they turn out to be the biggest sham ever. Their promises on the website are all empty and I would like to congratulate them that their exemplary principles of mistrust and third class customer service are being taken up very correctly by their agents like Lalit Matta. Atleast ICICI Prudential trains their agents correctly so I should give it to them, so what if the training is exact opposite of what it should be.

                    After 6-7 reminders from January till Feb end, 2011, someone from the so called Griveance redressal team got in touch with me to tell me that they have investigated and would want to close the case. Though they are sorry for their agent's behavior, but they cant help me with any resolution. Now my money is stuck with them and I have no option but to wait for the time period of this policy to get over before I get to see my money. No wonder that the policy has been one of the worst policies I ever bought. Their legal cross check was if I have any promise in written else they will get in trouble. Well, the agent promised in front of 2 other people but the typical cusomer service agent could not understand this and I cant blame her for she is nobody in the whole game of deceit that this company is running.

                    If there is any senior enough person in ICICI Prudential who has the guts to accept their misdemeanours and see if there is something called dignified business, I would say something good came out of this relationship. This company needs a serious lesson in customer "care" rather than have nincompoops manage the show.

                    Nevertheless, I will no longer do business with them and strongly recommend my family and friends not to deal with ICICI Prudential ever. Someday, they will realize the value of lost business though I wonder when..

                      I had applied for an iprotect online on the 7 th feb 2011 (OL[protected] and after making the payment had undergone medicals on the 12 th of feb.Following which I was asked to submit 5 documents which was sent online on the 15th of the month. They informed me that they failed to receive the attachments and so on the 17 I resent the attachments. Twice failing to receive my attachments they said a courier agent would collect it from my residence in 48 hrs. After no response in the next 72 hrs when I contacted the customer care, they apologized and asked me to sent the attachments one last time ,which i did on the 21 st. Matters started going from bad to worse .None in the company could answer my queries .Finally on the 28 th I sent the attachments with a request to find an alternate means of receiving them if it still failed, else to cancel my application. This time the reply was prompt.... miss Dimple Agarwal customer service manager who deliberately read between the lines decided to cancel my application. Hind sight I am relieved that my dependents dint have to go through the ordeal of dealing with this company in the case of an eventuality. A word of caution to all prospective applicants that its not worth the trouble .Icons like Big B should think twice before endorsing for such fraudulent players in the market. Now they are on the run for the Avaya global connect award 2011 for the most consumer responsive company 4th time in a row .All the best. JEETHE RAHO

                          Please note that i am not opted for medical. In any of the branchs my
                          details are notupdated also. Stamp duty is only Rs. 48. Unit flucations (Now
                          itself in 10days your NAV is down then how can i believe for another 5years.
                          Your managers in Annanagar branch & customer care represantative is clearly
                          telling in this 14days they will not calculate NAV). So max 100-200 will be
                          deducted. This is 100% cheating. I need to get the amount refunded atleast
                          Rs. 650/- otherwise i am goint to complaint this in all the Internet Fourms
                          & i will put all the details of scanned check everything in the net. It is
                          not good for you, i belive ICICI has a good name.

                            ICICI prudential people have collected all my documents twice and lost the documents both the times and still the issuance of the policy is awaited.

                            It is really shocking and unacceptable to provide the same set of documents again for the third time.
                            It's a mental harassment for me to follow up with icici prudential for so long without any mistake of mine.

                              ICICI Prudential have come up with iProtect plan and pormoting it very intesively now a days. I also felt it is one of the best and cheapest product in the term plan. Hence I decided to go with this product. I never knew at that time that I would have gone through such bad experience with such reputed company!

                              I paid money for the iProtect (OL[protected] on 07/12/2010 and did my medical test on 31st Dec 2010. When I checked my applicaton status after 1 week i found NO records!, Then I called customer care and i got the same answer. They said they could not find any record for the applicaiton -OL00047940. The guys gave me kerala number . I called 3 or 4 times and atlast somebody picked up the call and told that the documentation process still pending and will complete it one week. When i checked the tracker after 1 week(15th Jan 2011) i found my records back! The tracker says my medicals are completed.

                              But now it says "D-IUW Requirement not met" status pending. I don't know what this guys are doing ? Even after more than 2 months of waiting i didnt get my policy document! or any update from the company. I got a sms to attend a teleconference regarding iProtect. I got call at the right time but the it broke 3 times and the voice quality was so poor. I couldn't raise my complaint with the team.

                              I strongly recomment all do not go for this policy just for less cost. There are lots of other options available in the market. I regret for taking for this policy now. It is absolutely a fraud product from the company. Please call me if you similar issue or planning to go for this : [protected]

                                Dear Sir,

                                I had taken a Life Time super Pension policy[protected] for 15 lakh in 2007. I made premium payments in 2007 and 2008. However I missed to make my 3rd premium payment in 2009 and policy went under lapsed state. In 2010 Jan my premium amount became 995900.0. However I couldn't make the payment. The deadline for reviving the policy was Jan 10, 2011. On Jan 8th I arranged money in my ICICI bank by taking loan for 10 lakh from my friends. I had to transfer money to India. Unfortunately on Jan 8th and Jan 9th, ICICI Pru server and IVR was down due to some maintenance. I couldn't login and access the payment gateway. On Jan 10 i could login but payment gateway was not working. So I called NRI helpline and floor manager Kalyan Das helped me make the premium payment through infinity banking. So I made the payment for 995900.0. But my payment was not applied towards revival of my policy. My policy still went under foreclosure. My family received the check for the foreclosed amount (approx 5 Lakh). Since it was not my fault that I couldn't make the payment before deadline, Kalyan Das promised me that ICICI Pru will consider my situation and revive the policy. I haven't cashed the check yet. I still have my payment amount 995900.0 with ICICI. Later another ICICI Pru office Devendra started contacting me and he collected the PHD forms from me. Recently when I called he said he had submitted my case to the concern department. I have been waiting for a decision for one month and I haven't heard from anyone. I took loan for 10 lakh on huge interest rate. I can't wait for long time. Please provide me the status. I am attaching the error messages I got while i was trying to access the payment gateway on Jan 10, 2010 here. Please go through them. Since it was not my fault that I couldn't make the payment on time, ICICI Pru should revive my policy without asking me for the next premium. I hope you will consider this matter as early as possible and give me a solution. I had sent several emails to [protected]@iciciprulife.com, [protected]@iciciprulife.com regarding this. I still haven't heard from anyone about the current status of my policy. How long I have to wait like this. Please revive my policy. Could you kindly provide me the direct contact number of the concerned department who is handling my case.

                                On February 16th I send multiple mails with the PHD forms attached to Kashyap Sawant's attention. So far I haven't heard anything about my case from anyone. What is going on? How long I have to wait? Will ICICI Pru will cover the interest that I am paying on my loans I took for premium payment. Please take a decision soon. Are you guys waiting for me to get fedup on this case and request for my money back??????????? If that is the case please return the money I paid extra to ICICI Pru. I am really fedup and frustrated with ICICI Pru. My whole savings including the loan amount I took (close lose to 23 Lakh) is with ICICI Pru. When are you planning to take a decision on this case??????? Why there is not even a single responsible person working with ICICI Pru? Why can't someone respond to me? Everytime when I am calling ICICI Pru, I am ending up talking to people who don't have any idea about this case.                                   i mohinder singh had taken a policy under the name of SACHIN BASWALA from ur agent named Ms neetu trehan but till date i have'nt received any responce or policy documents from icici. my cheque has already been credited to ur account on 15.03.2010 issued in ur favour from Kotec mahindra bank, GK-II, new delhi.Even i tried to contact at the grievance cell ( jaspreet singh bedi )but he never responded.

                                  now as per policy, my next installment is due in march,2011 but i have not received any policy documents till date, i am unable to proceed further with the policy.

                                      I am taken a ICICI Prudential life insurance policy No:00513748 and i paid the 26 installments @ Rs 834/- monthly up to[protected] . Due to personel reasons i unable to continue my policy . I got a SMS from the ICICI Prudential stating that non payment policy has been closed and contact the branch office. I approched to ICICI Prudential Secundrabad on[protected] and i requested to continue the policy but they not agreed. And they informed to that you will get an amount of Rs 27,733 /- as fore closing the policy.

                                      Till date i am not got any amount from ICICI Prudential.
