    sir,
    i am a student of anna university chennai.i travelled from tirunelveli to egmore by nellai express on 4th april 2010. i got e-ticket. during checkin i showed my anna university college photo id card (original) to him. but he denied to accept that. He told me to show voter id, or driving liscense, or PAN card, or Passport,or Employee id issued by state central govt.but i am not 18 yrs old.so i couldn't any of the id mentioned. he fined 532rs. So totally i spent Rs 532+282=RS814 to ravel from tirunelveli to chennai that to in sleeper class. In IRCTC website they should hav mentioned that persons who haven't reached 18 shouldn't book tickets. bUt they haven't done so. Southern railways hav cheated a student. i hav send all the necessary enclosures i.e., receipt of a fine , anna univ photo id xerox, eticket addressing to consumer complaint manager , southern railway. i request the authorities concerned to look into the matter and refund my ticket amt (atleast) to my account. thank you......

      Even though the Travel agent have assured me that the ticket is confirmed, on the travelling day when I checked the status on 139 the ticket status was WL12 ( I have the proof of the same in the form of sms received from 139 ) and my name was not in the reservation chart. I enquired with the T.T.E and he said that the ticket was not confirmed and the ticket refund was already gone to the agent. And hence I was not able to board the train. But when I contacted the agent for ticket refund they said they haven't received the same and they have complained to IRCTC for refund ( IRCTC#3970546). And IRCTC have denied the refund in the pretext that the ticket was confirmed.

      I Have made 4 complaints in [protected]@irctc.co.in and I received the stereotyped answer that my ticket was confirmed and hence no refund will be given. O.K, then please tell me why my confirmed ticket turned to WL 12 in the chart and who will compensate for the financial loss and mental stress suffered by me.

      Please seriously look into this complaint by accessing the confirmed passenger list available in the Railway system and check whether the passenger name or PNR No: appeared in that. I am sure that you won't find the same and then why refund is denied to me?

      I look forward for justice from IRCTC

          Dear Sir,

          I had booked a ticket form Samalkot(SLO) to Mumbai(CSTM) on 1/10/2009 with PNR no: [protected] with a journey date of 17/10/2009. But I was not traveled on that ticket, regarding that I have filled a TDR on 19/10/2009 with reference no: ekt[protected].

          Inspite of calling and reminding IRCTC they have replied me that they have forwarded to Indian Railways, but till now i have not received any refund or intimation from either IRCTC or Indian Railways.

          I has been 6 months filling TDR complaint against IRCTC, still they are giving responce "UNDER PROCESS".

          I want to know what is the time slot for processing.

          I request you to look into matter, as our railways has a great name and crores of people is using it.
          This complaint is logging not only for my sake, rest of passengers should not struggle.

          If the railways are not ready to pay back me. Atleast they have ti intimate me.

            This is an awful scenario I am going to put forward,

            On 30th march I was trying to book a ticket for 21st june, but it got failed. Please find my failed transaction details below

            I have received an email regarding credit of amount 4745 INR to my credit card account. I have attached that one also.
            Now HDFC bank credit card department clearly denyning that they did not receive any refunding details.
            And they are demanding any proof from Indian Railway regarding the failed transaction.

            I am trying to follow up with IRCTC on this regard. They are not clarifying the status and they are saying the payment has not been processed.

            Now my query is
            1. If IRCTC says that payment has not being processed then how come I receive that mail of 4745 INR credit to your account. And how that receipt number got generated and the refund date comes as 31 st March.

            I am totally confused with this variant statement from IRCTC as well as HDFC bank. Please look in to this and help me out.

              We have booked 19 tickets on 14-01-10 for Rs.7731.00 (1181.00+757.00+424.00+1473.00+1318.00+472.00+1260.00+846.00=7731.00) on internet through you by using ICICI bank credit card No. [protected] in the name of Yusuf Beriwala. We have mistakenly chosen EMI option in credit card. The ICICI bank have been charged Rs.8894.22 (485.58+535.81+1583.35+1174.18+1055.92+1421.15+1277.78+1360.45+=8894.22) for these tickets. Rs.1163.22 has been charged more by you and ICICI bank. This is very heavy charged so we contacted ICICI bank and they told us that our charge is only 1.8% on ticket price all other charges have been debited by IRCTC . So we immediately contacted to ICICI bank and request them to convert EMI option into normal payment route and accordingly ICICI bank has convert my EMI option into normal payment route and I have made the total payment to ICICI bank that is RS.8894.22 instead of actual charge for Rs. 8195.92. So we are kindly requesting you to look into the matter and credit the extra charge in our ICICI bank credit card.

                I hv book one ticket on 27/3/2010 for journey of 31/3/2010. on 31/3/2010 status was showing w/l 27 & 28 .when my person go for journery .TT has said that these ticket has been cancelled ,and he has charges rs, 1300.00 extra for my journey chargs .                 Sir/Madam,
                This is a copmplaint regarding an E Ticket that I booked in the month of September 2008.
                I went to my hometown Thrissur, Kerala State as an emergency( a death happened in my family) and for returning, amidst all the shock and confusion at home, I took a family friend's help for booking an e-ticket from Thrissur to Bhopal by Kerala Express. this person asked me for the passport number and as I knew it by-heart, I told him. But I didn't know that I had to carry my passport as the Identification proof since he gave my Passport number at the time of the booking. when I received the e-ticket, I enquired about it to several people (as my passport was in Bhopal and I was in Kerala) and some people said that any proof is fine. Luckily, I had my election ID card with me which I rpoduced during the journey.
                The ticket checker was very adament on me producing the passport itself and said that I had 2 options.
                1.Buy another ticket
                2.Get down the train.
                I was travelling with my 3 year old son alone in 2nd AC and this fellow, regardless of my name matching with the name in the chart and also, my ID card was valid and the photo was also matching- he refused to give-in. I ahd to pay another 2000 Rs to take a new ticket at that time. Just because I didn't produce my passprt was the only reason why he got me into buying a new ticket. Isn't this appaulling? When Mr Lalloo YAdav is providing facilities for women travelling alone with children, his own employee is harassing for a silly reason like this. Now, I approached IRCTC complaints cell and they refused to give the money back saying that they followed rules -that I had to give my passport itself. Now, tell me one thing, if you buy a ticket from the counter, give it to somebody else and they travel as you, who checks it ? None. It is only because the ticket was issued from a counter! This is ridiculous. But I want to know whether I am eligible to get the refund or not.
                I have the second ticket that was issued to me as well as the e-ticket and also the comments from the Ticket checker that "I failed to produce Passport as Identification proof -But shown Voter's ID card instead" written on the ticket.
                What can be done for this case? I want my 2000Rs extra back-because I know that the rule has been changed now by the railways -that e-ticket holders can show any Photo ID card as proof.

                while taking e ticket one has to produce / submit the number of mandatory documents showing the identity of the person, which must be carried alongwith himself and to be produced to the TC/ TTE on demand or at routine check.

                Yes, you can produce ANY valid ID proof
                a) Voter Identity Card.
                b) Passport.
                c) PAN Card.
                d) Driving Licence; and
                e) Photo identity cards issued by Central/State Government.

                but it had to be same as one you produced at time of purchase of tickets, ( the provision is revised w.e.f.[protected] and allowed any id) but the time u mentioned, was prior to that, and the old rules were valid.

                However as the TTE issued new ticket to your case with penalty, and written on your ticket the reason for making such is mere mismatch of id proof, its a good case to lodge complaint and fight for refund, please write to ...

                Sorry for the inconvenience. Kindly note that your refund case of PNR No. [protected] has been forwarded to CCM/Northern Railway on dt.24.04.09. We have already issued Reminder No. 1 dt.22.07.09 to concerned railway to chase up the case. But despite reminder refund yet not received from the concerned railway. Now we are sending a Reminder No. 2 dt. 12.09.09 with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway to chase up the cases. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.

                I was trying to book 5 tickets online from Guwahati to Kolkata on 25th august for journey date 1sep on Garibrath. But after payiing the money through internet banking, irctc screen get refreshed automatically.But tickets are not confirmed. I called IRCTC they said transaction has been failed so money will be refunded with in 3 days, in the mean time i have to book again. But to my horror while i am trying to book 2nd time, after money has been transfered to IRCTC sesion login fails, again my tickets are not confirmed. Again i call them they can't say nothing. I afraid my money will not be refunded by IRCTC. What should i do to get back my money?

                It has been around more than 45 Days that I have Filled TDR in IRCTC Site due to Train got delayed for more than 24 hrs.                 IRCTC — Non refund of e TDR after almost 2 years

                I booked a e-ticket from Patna to Mumbai on 11/4/2009 train no. 142P in IIIrd AC for Rs. 1253.00. The PNR no. was [protected]. On the date of journey the train was late by 20 hrs. I made my travel to Mumbai by flight. I filed TDR on 18/5/2009. Even after no. of reminders and talking on phone the refund has not been made so far. Non refund after almost 2 years is pretty long time.
                Can anyone suggest what to do?

                IRCTC — Blocked my used id without my fault

                I booked a ticket (PNR [protected]) for my dad from Secundrabad to Repalle which costs Rs110. But my dad has not traveled on that day due to some personal reason and I didn't cancel the ticket. The next day I filed TDR for that ticket. After few days, I got a mail from irctc saying that passenger already traveled on that ticket and they block the user id because of false TDR filing. I am working in a MNC in software professional. How I can do that for just Rs 40 ( which I supposed to get after filing TDR ).Earlier also I faced same issue when I didnt travel by train when the train got delayed by more than 3 hours from Rajmundry. At that time also, I got same response that passenger has already traveled.
                We know how people offer bribe to TTEs and travel. Without my fault they blocked my user account.

                Now I am facing problem in taking print out of the future tickets those I booked long back. I don't have them in my mails also. I already sent mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in. If they don't activate my account, what I have to do ?

                I am holding an IRCTC account under user name SHEELAT. I had bought a ticket pnr no [protected] date of journey 23rd march 2010 from Mumbai central to Bharuch by shatabdi express. As I wanted to cancel this ticket, i booked for a train later in the day and tried to cancel this. I could not cancel as i was getting connectivity problem message from irctc site and finally wrote to [protected]@irctc.co.in to cancel the ticket on 22nd march 2010 night which was prior to train departure. They asked me to write to them giving the details. i wrote to them again prior to train departure to cancel the ticket. they wrote to me back after train departed that I have to file tdr. i was upset but i filed the tdr. Later after few months, to my surprise, i got an email from irctc stating that my tdr was falsely claimed and they are rejecting it. i wrote to them back stating that i have travelled by booking another ticket how i could travel on both also i have written to you before train departure to cancel the ticket. there was no response.

                Now on 19th april 2011, i have received an email from them stating that they have blocked my account as i have claimed falsely under the above pnr. I was shocked. while I was the aggrieved as they didnot cancel my ticket and asked me to file tdr, they act strangely causing further damage. I wrote to them thereafter several emails attaching all correspondence but there is no relief.

                moreover, this account had more than 2300 Rs at the time of their blocking the account. i had two tickets which i had booked before that but i had to cancel that because I was at china and korea at that time.I had pnr no [protected] for travel on 2nd may from mumbai to bharuch which I could not use as i was at korea. also i had pnr no [protected] for travel on 25th april 2011 which i could not use as i was at china. I wrote to them to cancel both as I was blocked from usage of site.

                They did nothing and finally after several correspondence they asked me to write to etickets and they filed tdr for pnr[protected] and paid the tdr money while i was eligible for cancellation money. There is no response from etickets for the other pnr [protected].

                so they have blocked my id inconveniencing me and causing severe mental agony inspite of writing to them that I am holding a very senior position, they have not only failed to cancel pnr [protected] but have also falsely accused me and paid me nothing for the above untravelled ticket, they have falsely accused me of making false claims, they have withheld the balance available in my above blocked account, they didnot permit me to cancel the above tickets. Even though this amount is nothing of great importance to me, as a consumer they have caused great harm to me and the attitude of IRCTC officials is very poor and they should learn that they are getting their salaries from the consumers like us and they are there to serve us and not act like dictators. please help me out.

                should I approach consumer court or is there any other option.

                Central Bank Of India — railway ticket

                i looged in the website and then when tried to book ticket then i dint found the central bank of india atm/debit card option in the list for transaction.

                I have the honour to state that I had booked 02 E tickets on 14.6.11 at 06:24:08 PM vide PNR No. [protected] (GARIB RATH ) for journey to be performed on 04th July 2011 from Ambala Cant Jn to Kathgodam as per Transaction ID [protected] and paid Rs.702.00 through my SBI ATM, but the State Bank Of India, Ranikhet (Uttarakhand) where my account is maintaining, has shown 2 deductions i.e. Rs.702-00 respectively, hence a total amount of Rs. 1404-00 was retrenched from my account while showing no. POS[protected] IRC and no. POS[protected] dtd. 14.6.11. It is requested to kindly reimburse Rs.702/- which has got retrenched as excess amount.

                I was booking my e-ticket on 28 nov. 2011 from HTZ to ANVT two lower berths were booked . payment for Rs. 762 was made through debit car d but soon after the message played on the screen was " webpage has expired " How can I know the position of the e-ticket whether it is booked or not ? If it is not booked then how can I get my money back to my account . THANKS
                Today i.e 05.12.2011 I booked ticket for two person in train No. 19709 in sleeper class. The amount is paid through my SBI ATM card. The amount is deducted from my account RS. 778.                       Indian Railways — unauthorised charges

                      Dear Sir,
                      It was not possible to escape as the fists of corruption were so tightly clenched that it forced me to give up. Early morning today I disembarked from the Tamil Nadu express after completing a journey of more than 33 hours. I got down at Agra cantonment. It was three o[censored]s who had the tickets reserved together. One o[censored]s had an extension till New Delhi Junction so he took the tickets with him and we kept the Xerox of the same. We were intercepted by Mr.S.C.Meena at platform number 1 of Agra Cantt. I am still confused whether to use Mr. or Dr. as he seemed like an undefeated champion of bribery and corruption and certainly deserved an honorary PhD., if not anything else. Mr. Meena refused to accept the Xerox copy and even on production of valid identity card and matching ages printed on tickets he did not entertain anything rather he went on warning us to increase unofficial penalty if we posed resistance. On informing him about our inability to pay as we had tickets he threatened to penalise us for the entire journey. Finally coming to the point he demanded Rs.200 from each o[censored]s. The amount was not much and it would not make any difference to me in the long run. But as a teenager of 19yrs of age it was my first experience in bribing and that too when I had a ticket to travel. I do not know it is even worth to tell this tale to anyone but I am certain now that tomorrow it will loom large when I have to face many such instances. May be after 10yrs I have to offer Rs.20, 000 and may be Rs.2, 00, 000 after 20 years, so if nothing else it can definitely be new definition of my vision 2020.

                              1. I booked e ticket on 09 Feb PNR [protected] for Sampark Kranti from Bhopal to Secunderabad.
                              2. Till 18 Mar 2300h the status of this ticket was WL 3,4,5.
                              5. Inspite of booking this ticket on 09 Feb 10 there was no change in my status till 18 Mar midnight . Thus keeping me hanging till last minute
                              4. Per force on 17 Mar, I had to book a tatkal e ticket PNR [protected] for DAKSHIN Exp, the timings of which did not suit me since my family had to travel from Sagar to Bhopal without any connecting train for Dakshin exp.
                              5. At time of booking of tatkal e ticket no warning was given to me that this ticket cannot be cancelled and no refund is applicable.
                              4. On 18 Mar at 2300h, PNR [protected] got confirmed.
                              5. Sampark Kranti being the preferred train because of timing and connectivity, I decided to cancel DAKSHIN EXPRESS TICKET.
                              7. To my surprise, I am told that I cannot get any refund on tatkal confirmed ticket.
                              8. This denies my right to cancel a confirmed ticket and that too because of circumstances created by railways.
                              9. Rules are to respected but exception to the rules need to be viewed case to case and accordingly handled.
                              10. Please clarify the following:-
                              (a) Why there was no change in my WL status for more than 40 days when reservation and cancellation status is updated online.
                              (b) Why charts were updated at 2300h on 18 Mar when departure of the train is at 0700h on 19 Mar.
                              (c) Why no warning is given to the customer that no refund is applicable for booking a confirmed tatkal e ticket.
                              (c) Why right of cancellation is denied to a tatkal passenger prior to departure of the train.
                              11. I would request this issue to be handled deliberately and refund granted.

                                I have booked 2 tickets from Bandra Terminus to Vapi for Intercity train(bandra surat) of 6.50 am from Bandra terminus. I was charges Rs. 158.07 for 2 tickets including credit card charges. Both tickets got auto cancelled as it was in waiting list after chart preparation. But refund I got was only Rs. 101.98 against both tickets. I was been told that if there was auto cancellation then full amount gets refunded. then why so... Please revert me the status.

Payment of Rs 1, 442.47 (Rupeese one thousand four hundred forty two & paise forty seven only) was made on date, through SBI portal No POS PRCH[protected] IRCTC. The amount has already been debited from my account. This is to inform that the e-ticket processing site did not complete the process & the ticket could not be generated.
                                      It is to request that an e-ticket may please be sent on my registered email address at the earliest or a refund of the paid amount be made
                                      to my bank.

                                      A payment of Rs 1442.47 was done through SBI portal as per the debit details, POS PRCH[protected] IRCTC, dated 31/8/2013.
                                      The e-ticket could not be retrieved from the Processing site, neither it was sent to my registered email id inbox nor retrieved from the spam site, as suggested in my earlier complaint. Therefore, I request you to please forward me an e-ticket or refund the ticketing amount to my bank.

                                      Difference in train number

                                      I booked a ticket through irctc from patna to anand vihar. The train number shown on the ticket was 22487 which is different from the original train number 12487. Due to this disperancy i was unable to continue the journey.

                                        I had a reservation for 3 tickets on 2-tier AC from Renigunta to Dadar on Train # 2164 for 7th March 2010.
                                        Reservation date:[protected] Status at time of reservation: 13/14/15. PNR: [protected]

                                        By 6th March the status had been updated to 3/4/5 and a few hours before travel improved to RHA1 17 / WL1 / WL2. I was traveling with my parents (68 and 57 yr old) and was not willing to board the train if we did not have individual berths.

                                        We got to Renigunta station early to inquire about the possibility of traveling with 2 waitlisted passengers. We were CLEARLY told by the railway authorities that since we have 1 RAC passenger on the ticket, we are ALLOWED to board the train and the TC on the train should be able to accommodate the 2 wait listed names.

                                        Given the assurances stated above we boarded the train and soon hit a brick wall. The TC started the conversation with "Its a full train and there not much I can do". Well he ended up doing a lot of stuff for another group which had 'lots' of money to shell out!

                                        The same group shared the single RAC reservation with us and were kind enough to give the entire seat to us. So yeah we had now paid Rs 3680 to share 1 berth amongst:
                                        - Me
                                        - 68 yr old man
                                        - 57 yr old woman.

                                        The TC had the audacity to say "You dont have much to offer, the other group had a lot to give!"

                                        After a good 8 hours of travel, a different TC was kind enough to allocate a 'no-show' seat to us in the adjacent berth and that made it a little better for the 3 o[censored]s.

                                        I do not feel like claiming TDR since we all ended up traveling on the ticket on offer. However I ask IRCTC if this was worth Rs 3680 that they charged us?
